Provided Credit Card Number
JC Whitney somehow provided BLOCKBUSTER.COM with my credit card information. I contacted JC Whitney and the sale associate told me they are not associated with BLOCKBUSTER.COM in anyway. BLOCKBUSTER.COM had my name and JC Whitney name associated with my phony membership registration. How would BLOCKBUSTER get that information without JC Whitney providing it to them. Doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure it out?!?! BLOCKBUSTER.COM will not refund my money without me going thru my bank first. I want everyone to be aware of this scam.

Excessive charges, questionable intent
I had an interesting experience today with this company. I don't usually "bash" business folks, and I am not going to do it here...just the facts, maamm, just the facts.
This might be of interest to some if you do business with that company.
Called and ordered an oil seal kit for my 1951 M38A-1 Willys Jeep. I had a catalog dated 2007 and ordered the part by number...priced then at $12.99, (knowing it would be more now).
After much questioning including information not necessarily pertaining to the order, the lady said "we have that part in stock- $18.99"..
OK...that's quite an increase I said...would it be less if I ordered it online?
About the same she said.
OK, that's fine. What's the total, says I.
That will come to $25.95...and let's see.. it will be a total of $32.95...
Says I...hold on a minute... $18.99 plus shipping should be no more than the $25.95 you quoted...(remember- it was an oil seal sent in an envelope, most probably, via USPS)
Well, says she, there is insurance, SHIPPING (?)
handling, etc etc, etc...$32.95
About dropped my teeth and in a polite, but succinct (curt?) way said cancel the order, please; thank you for your time...and hung up.
HOWEVER, by this time she had all CC information, my cell number, which I stated I did not want to be abused, my billing address, my shipping address, my email address and a whole bunch of information I would not have given had I known what was coming.
As I think about it, over the years that is most probably the reason I use them very "sparingly" (last resort). Unfortunately, I did not check the other suppliers I know of that would have the item :-(.
FWIW ... and bit of diversion on this Thursday, March 19...(when are the Ides of March?)...:-) :-)

Ridiculous! Just simply Ridiculous! I have never ever been treated like this by anyone. Imagine, what will you people feel if you were shouted upon by the CSR of this company? This is an outrage! I was just following up my order, when all of a sudden this young lady went berserk just because of the issues I'm bringing up! I will never ever buy from this company again! And I advise you all not to buy from JC Whitney if you don't want to be treated badly...
Ordered replacement AC condenser. After having body shop install it, we found that it leaked. Now I am going to have to pay body shop again to remove and replace condenser. JC refused to expedite shipping of the replacement condenser, so I will likely be without my car for another week. Also, JC refused to help with the additional cost of having to remove and reinstall condenser.
Brake pads were the second of two items purchased. The first item was delivered in good condition with the brake pads to be shipped directly from the manufacturer by a certain date. When I was not notified of shipping of the pads on the date indicated, I inquired of status via email and was informed I would be contacted with 24 hours, which passed without notification. Two more times I was notified via email that I would be contacted to no avail. I was then informed the item would be shipped in about a month and I subsequently cancelled order. This company seems to have a philosophy of not being honest and upfront with customers and wasting their time. They lost me as a customer.
The Ides of March - or any month - is the 15th.
And thanks for not being another mouth breathing redneck ### that they didn't receive their "rip off everyone you know for fun and profit" kit in a timely manner.
Shipped Item and Charged CC without any permission
I ordered a trailer hitch and returned it for a refund because it was damaged. I was getting the money back for this hitch included shipping charges ($145.99). Two weeks later I received another one I had not ordered and they charged me more ($149.98) then the first time from my CC without any permission. I was then returning the hitch unopened and was only getting $116.80 back. I was then contacting the live support. I could not believe what a incompetent person I had on the other site. I will never do business with them again, because there are lot more outside which have better prices and to care more about their costumer:

Support: Thank you for contacting JC Whitney's Customer Service.
Support: How may I help you?
Me: Hello, I was returning a trailer hitch for the Order Number [protected] for a refund and did only get $116.80. I still miss $33.18
Support: One moment please.
Support: The cost of the item was 116.80.
Me: OK. Then I still miss the $33.18 shipping.
Support: I will be right with you.
Me: k
Support: Did you return the Hitch Ball and the Connector?
Me: no. You were sending me the second hitch without any order from me
Me: I retunred it unopened
Support: Both Hitches have been refunded. The amount left on the the account is for the Hitch Ball, the Connector and the shipping charge.
Me: I do not know what you sent me the second time, what was in there, because I did not open it. You charged from my CC on 01/13/2009 $149.98 but only refund $116.80
Me: So the $33.18 must be the shipping charges.
Me: with the hitch ball and connetor it would be more then $149.98
Support: So you still have the Hitch Ball and Connector? If so, I will refund the shipping charge however it would be 26.98.
Me: WHAT?
Me: You charged $149.98 without any permission and now you only refund less?
Me: Yes I still have the Hitch Ball and Connector because IT WAS ON MY FIRST ORDER!
Me: It seems you do not know what the Hitch Ball and Connector costs. It is more then $8
Support: The Hitch Ball is 8.00 and the Connector is 38.25. The shipping charge is 26.98 for a total of 73.23. That is the balance due. I will refund the 26.98 shipping charge.
Me: No no no, you charged $149.98 without any permission from my CC and without any order. I want my whole money back. If you could count, 116.80 + 26.98 + 38.25 is not 149.98. Please let me talk to your supervisor.
Support: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
Support: I'm sorry for the delay. I'll be right with you.
Support: If I refund all of the shipping charges on this order you will only be left with paying for the Hitch Ball and the Connector.
Support: I will apply the refund at this time for all but the two items.
Me: HELLOOOOOOO, didnt you get it? The Hitch Ball and the Connector was on my first order which was coming with the first hitch I ORDERED. The second hitch came without Hitch Ball and the Connector and without any order from me!
Me: Please just refund the $33.18 and everything is fine exept I will not do business with you further. If I would do this in my business I would not have any costumer any more.
Support: I understand that. I will refund all money except for the charges for those two items.
Me: what money do we talk about
Support: All charges except for 46.25
Me: What? I just want the $33.18. nothing more
Support: Okay, I will refund the amount to your account today.
Me: THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Support: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: no, really not. thank you

Fraud
I ordered a motorcycle tire online from JC Whitney. It was supposed to ship in 7-10 business days. It has now been well over 3 weeks, and in the north country up here, I am fast running out of riding days. Nothing on my E-mail explaining the delay. Should ordered from Dennis Kirk. To add insult to injury, within 3 days I received a catalog in the mail. Seems they were far more concerned with getting me to buy something else than delivering the product I already paid for. So why, why why would I ever, ever ever, order from these losers again?

I'm definitely never shopping here again!
Of all the online auto parts retailers I've used, this site offers the worst service. Aside from the prices being higher, the website often broke down while I located the parts I needed. The sales rep was no good either - I couldn't understand a word she was saying. Plus, the parts I ordered were delivered a month late. I'm definitely never shopping here again!
This site is a part of the U.S. Auto Parts Network, unfortunately, as they have been in business for nearly 100 years but have now sold out.
Any auto parts site that is associated with the above named association should be avoided at all costs.
This is my own personal war with this U.S. Auto Parts Network and I have warned them to stop selling parts the way they are by misrepresenting them as Replacement Brand when they are not. That's fraud!
My hobby is auto restoration and the brand manufacturer makes a huge difference in either what I am telling someone or the parts itself when it has the actual manufacturers name blasted on the front of it, made me look like either a liar or an idiot, I'll stick with idiot for a minute but not for long.
They don't think I can cause them any problems, well we will see when the FTC comes knocking. They have had a class action against them in the past and just may again soon. I can and am generally relentless when I get pissed.
Just keep in mind that if they are selling a product called Replacement Brand quality auto parts keep going.
Let me be clear on one thing, I am talking about any part called Replacement Brand.
If the site, in my opinion is selling these parts then it is more than likely they are a part of that network.
I am NOT 100% positive on that statement, but it sure appears to be mostly accurate as the site has to have some sort of association or they would be calling the part by the manufacturers name right out the gate and they are out there.
The problem is that these clowns are redirecting traffic from honest sites by using a simple word and something anyone might put into a Google search, the word Replacement. That really gets under my skin.
I can't tell you how many times I have bought these parts and never figured it out until one day I had a guy come back with a defective fog light and it was still under warranty, well I always keep the boxes as you all should also, and I look at the box and there is the manufacturers name and on the lens. Well that's what started it. And then trying to get the warranty, impossible nearly or just to cost prohibitive as it would be cheaper to just buy another part.
I can't believe I was so stupid to have not recognized this before, but my work is good and frankly the parts are generally of good to decent aftermarket parts all are made in China.
The other thing that will clue you is a one year unlimited mileage warranty and most, not all, but most of their web pages will look identical.
The only thing different will be the prices for the same product.
I am not saying that the part won't work for you as it probably will, as being there is no branded part called Replacement, then your getting a part manufactured by someone and you won't know unless you ask specifically and that's if they will even know themselves as there customer service people don't even know that the parts they are selling aren't manufactured by a company called Replacement.
As I said in another review the word Replacement is just a director for your search engine, for instant, "2004 Chevy Impala replacement headlight", so the word Replacement takes you right to their sites, so never use the word Replacement in your search for starters, that's funny I meant any part..
Go to your vehicle manufacturers web site and get there OEM, original equipment manufacturers part number and enter that into your search, just don't say replacement off the bat and you can avoid them, a little bit maybe, as this network is huge.
I was so upset to see JC Whitney selling these parts and then to find out for sure that they are part of this network now was very upsetting as they were the best.
Honestly, parts aside, I just don't want to see this network taking business away from good honest websites selling the same parts.
The difference though from this crooked network and an honest parts house will be price, kind of like shopping at Walmart, I guess.
Anyhow, I am going to be writing about sites for parts that I feel are honest also, so maybe you might want to check back.
Aside from the prices being higher than i'm used to, the sales rep wasn't any help at all when i called the toll-free number. It took more than half an hour to conclude that the parts i wanted were out of stock.
Never got my rotors!
JC Whitney
www.jcwhitney.com
I never got my rotors with this on line shop.. Why should I shop with them again in the first place, when in fact that it has been two months since my FIRST AND LAST purchase with them was a total snub.. Those thieves didn't even bother to give back my money... I payed them good hard earned cash, and this is what I get? No no no... They didn't get the better or Kerpal... I am planning to sue them because of what they did... Plus their customer service is just out of place, telling me that I didn't order or anything... HEY FOOLS, IF YOU'RE READING THIS WELL GUESS WHAT, I ORDERED MY ROTORS... WHERE IS IT...
I wish I had checked the complaints about JC Whitney before making any purchase with them. I ordered a holey air filter 2 weeks ago and they haven't arrived yet! I tried to contact them, even with my busy schedule, but they just shove me off with their excuses with the shipping problems crap. I am beginning to think that even with the popularity of JC Whitney, they are a SCAM business.
Poor after sales service
I ordered an O. E. M. fuel pump assembly for a 2003 Suburban. I had to talk to a real person to place the order. The part arrived one day earlier than promised, I am impressed. Dropped the tank, removed old pump to discover the pump sent has the wrong electrical connections, not even close. Call them, lots of apologies will send replacement out ASAP. A little suspicious, looked up replacement part on their site, not even close. Call them to be advised I was correct, they really do have the correct part but it will cost more, and will take 4 - 7 days to ship.
This online shop is a big SCAM.
The parts I ordered should be working right? But it isn't! I cant believe I trusted this site and its still in business for doing such an abhorrent act to their customers... Beware!
Will not order from here again. The person I talked to didn't know what the heck she was talking about, and even put me on hold for ten minutes. I was really in a hurry and didn't have time for these shenanigans so I will not buy from here again.
Permalin.
To bad I only saw this complaint just now. I ordered cold air intake @ jcwhitney and its been a month and I haven't received them yet..
I'm still waiting for feedback from them... This is really a SCAM!
I had several purchases with JC Whitney and they all give me the wrong parts. They even made me pay for the shipping of returned parts and the "correct" order. Might as well switch to another online auto parts store. I can't believe they are still in business!
I got the worst service from them. They keep on telling me that I will be receiving my soon regarding my wrong brake pads, but then it was almost a month already and I'm not receiving even a singles response from them.
I totally agree with your complaint. It happened to me a lot of time already. It really pisses me off.
