Mixed Experience at Jenkins Mazda
My experience with Jenkins Mazda has been a mix of positives and negatives. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the service time was longer than expected. The car selection was good, but the prices seemed slightly high. Overall, it was an average experience that could be improved.
Jenkins Auto Group is the worst place to do business with
Jenkins Auto Group is the worst place to do business with. They don't stand behind their word and won't refund the money they owe me.
I got swindled outta my van and ended up with a new one that my folks can't even get in and out of without someone else opening the door
I got swindled outta my van and ended up with a new one that my folks can't even get in and out of without someone else opening the door. Can you believe it? I went there for a simple oil change and tire rotation, and I asked about the warranty, but they totally swindled me. I realized it wasn't right for me within 24 hours, but when I told them, they said they couldn't help me. Now I'm stuck with something that's a real struggle for my disabled folks to get in and out of.

I made an appointment for the RECOMMENDED maintenance and oil change, but it took them 2 days and they still didn't finish the work on my truck. They said they couldn't fix the tire leak because the tread was too thin and I needed 2 new tires. I had dropped off my truck a day early! Joseph told me to call him and he would arrange for the front end alignment when I agreed to get the new tires. I took time off work and went to talk to him because it's nearly impossible to reach him on the phone. He was with another customer, so I had to wait to speak to him. When he finally acknowledged me, he basically said, "What do you need? I'll be a while!" So RUDE! I left a review and asked for the customer service manager to call me, but he never did! I've been coming here for YEARS and this is how they treat me for bringing them my business! Other customers, be careful! Just so you know, I can't give them zero stars!
Jenkins Kia of Gainesville is charging 20% of the MSRP as a "market adjustment" because they can
Jenkins Kia of Gainesville is charging 20% of the MSRP as a "market adjustment" because they can. They are also tricking customers into a buy back program that turns into a nightmare. They convince buyers to purchase a car they don't want, promising that they will get the car they do want in a few months and that the money paid for the first car will go towards the second car. However, they don't have enough new cars to satisfy the customers in the buy back program, and when they do get one (which happens only once in five months), they raise the price to $65k and pressure you to buy it because they have someone else waiting to buy it. Don't deal with small market dealers. They know they have you where they want you. Buy from a dealer in a larger market with more competition and more money to spend on vehicles.
I talked to Kia HQ about Jenkins Kia in Gainesville and complained about their dishonest practices and greedy mark ups. Kia HQ said they are not penalizing their dealers for now, although they "discourage" it.
When I was buying the vehicle I didn't want, on the buy back program, I asked them more than 10 times what the catch was and how I would get screwed. They told me they were doing it as a service to help customers until they could get them the car they wanted, and that it wouldn't harm them to provide this service since they can sell the Tellurides quickly. I should have listened to my gut and walked away to a larger market where I could wait for what I wanted at a lower price. Now, the vehicles I want are available in my area for $10k less than what Jenkins wants me to pay. I'm stuck waiting for Jenkins Kia of Gainesville to not only get the promised car, but also price it reasonably.
UPDATE:
My initial review was harsh, and for good reason at the time. However, we have since worked with the General Manager, Mr. Antonio ***, to resolve our problems. Mr. is a kind and honest gentleman who went out of his way to help us get the car we were promised. I fault the other employees for not escalating the issue to Mr., but I should have insisted on it myself. It would have saved time and a lot of heartache. I do recommend Jenkins Kia of Gainesville, but I also strongly suggest that if you start feeling like you're not getting appropriate responses

Engine replacement
2019 mazda cx-9 2.5 turbocharged engine failure due to factory defect. Cracked cylinder head. I paid $14,900.00 for a new updated engine from mazda out of my own pocket with no help from mazda USA even after I contacted them. I’ve been a loyal customer and have purchased about 6 vehicles from mazda over the past 20 years. I still have three in my driveway but the last purchase was a disaster because of the defected engine 2.5 liter turbocharge engine . Totally disappointed and financially drained and stressed out over this last purchase. Sincerely Tim Humphries

Desired outcome: I feel like Mazda should reinburse me for most of this money. I have the bill and yes the work was done at a mazda dealership. $14,900.09

In good faith I called and requested out of door price for of a cx-30 select advertised on your website, got a sheet with the various line items (thursday) final price $30,500. Brought my 2017 Corvette in for a warranty repair of the front bumper. The paint didn't match, so they got authorization from GM to repaint the front. I was told I would be reimbursed for my ceramic coating and film that protects the paint. After submitting the receipts for the reapplication of the coating, they are saying it's not covered. Had a meeting with the GM and service manager, but no luck.

I just bought a 2021 Silverado truck from Jenkins Auto Group, but unfortunately, the BACKUP CAMERA is defective
I just bought a 2021 Silverado truck from Jenkins Auto Group, but unfortunately, the BACKUP CAMERA is defective. It's really frustrating because it's completely useless, especially at night. I decided to take it to the service department to get it checked out, and the staff there told me something that didn't make much sense. They said, "You gotta do what everyone else does and add more lights to the back." Honestly, that doesn't seem like the right solution to me. Why should I have to add extra lights to a brand new truck from 2021? If more lights were necessary, shouldn't they have been installed at the factory? I think my camera should either be replaced or fixed properly.
I bought the truck on June 24th and it's been havin' transmission issues since two weeks after I got it
I bought the truck on June 24th and it's been havin' transmission issues since two weeks after I got it. It's been in for repair 'bout 4 times in 4 months. I take care of my 80-year-old mom and I'm worried 'bout our safety in this truck. After the hurricane, I went lookin' for gas and the transmission jerked real hard, pushin' me into a yellow pole protectin' the gas pumps. The truck got damaged from that and now I'm scared I'll get into a bigger accident where me and my passengers won't be so lucky. I'm uploadin' what I got 'cause I can't get the rest of my tickets from the dealership 'cause they ain't respondin' to me. I got the text messages from the sales person I dealt with, the recent email from the General Manager tellin' me to go to another dealership, and the service ticket I do have, along with a Vehicle History Report. I don't trust this vehicle and I don't trust the dealership anymore. I dunno what to do now.
I got scammed by a car dealer named Vector at Jenkins Motors!
I got scammed by a car dealer named Vector at Jenkins Motors! They overcharged me for a used car with 13783 miles. The price was $18,500 plus $1003.00 in fees and taxes. They insisted on paid mechanic checks for the car. They appraised my trade-in at $4,500, but later hiked the car's price to $27,312, adding extra charges and doubling the loan interest. I sought help from a law firm, but they found no illegalities after three months, as I had signed the papers. However, I suspect fraud. I need assistance and have documentation to discuss further issues. I trusted the company, not the dishonest individuals. I'm seeking help. Thank you!
I went to Jenkins Auto Group on 3/17/22 for an oil change, cabin air filter, and a diagnostic on some smoke coming from the engine
I went to Jenkins Auto Group on 3/17/22 for an oil change, cabin air filter, and a diagnostic on some smoke coming from the engine. My car had recently gotten a new motor, was cleaned recently, and was in decent shape. The folks at the shop called me and said I needed new tires and blamed the previous mechanic at *** Hyundai for breaking my high pressure fuel pump. I told them that if the pump was broken, I wouldn't have been able to drive the car for the thousands of miles I had since the last service. But I still agreed to pay for the extra work. As soon as I left the shop, my car started smoking worse than ever before. There are stains and oily fingerprints both inside and outside the car, and I can see and smell gasoline on the engine. I tried calling them, but I was put on hold for almost an hour before the call got disconnected. On 3/18/22, I noticed a lot of oil leaking from the car, which has never happened before. It's really disheartening to bring your car in for minor issues, spend over $1,000, and then leave with even more problems caused by the shop.
On July 26, 2022, I took my 2020 Dodge Caravan, which I had just bought from Jenkins Kia, for an oil change and tire rotation
On July 26, 2022, I took my 2020 Dodge Caravan, which I had just bought from Jenkins Kia, for an oil change and tire rotation. I asked about getting warranties for my Dodge, and Maria P introduced herself to me. She suggested that it would be better for me to get a van that still had warranties on it. Then she introduced me to salesman Josh, and together they picked out a 2020 Kia Sedona. During the test drive, I noticed that Josh had a hard time opening the van doors and had to ask others for help. When I asked him about it, he admitted that he wasn't familiar with the Sedona.
When I got home and tried to open the van doors, I couldn't. I had to push the back of the door and pull hard to get it to open. I called Maria and explained to her that this van wouldn't work for me because I work with people with disabilities who can't open these doors. She asked me to wait until Friday when she returned to work. When I took the van back, she said there was nothing she could do. So I asked to speak with the sales manager, and she introduced me to Mike N. He assured me that he would get the problem fixed and I had to leave the van for 5 days. I was waiting for them to update me, but I saw them sell my Dodge van to someone else.
When I told Mr. N about it, he said he would get me another van that would work better for me and promised to get in touch with me on Friday. However, I didn't hear from Mr. N until I called him on Monday. At that time, he told me there was nothing he could do for me. So now I'm stuck with a van that isn't safe for the disabled people I take care of, which I made clear from day one. The warranty that all of this started about was attached to my payments with ***.
My car started idling rough and the check engine light (CEL) came on
My car started idling rough and the check engine light (CEL) came on. I had it towed to the dealership to prevent further damage to the engine in case of a major issue. The codes from the CEL stated there was a timing issue. After they had my car for a week they called me and asked for my service records and at that time I asked what was wrong with my car. The only answer I got was that it needed a new engine. I continued to call to find out what was wrong and what they found during diagnosing the issue. It took another 3 days before my question was answered but the service technician told me that they had verified it was a stretched timing chain. They then submitted a claim to Hyundai for warranty work which was denied due to mileage and the technician putting on the submission that the engine was extremely neglected. I do some of the oil changes myself so I didn't have full records. I spoke to a service manager and he said the pictures of my oil looked like brownie batter yet my oil was never drained or replaced there. I took my car home because the dealership stated it would be $4,000 - $5,000 for a new engine and after a quick Google search found that the issue was most likely due to a variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid that was dirty or faulty. I removed the solenoid, which took less than 5 minutes, and quickly found the problem to be a hole in the screen of the solenoid. I replaced the part for $90, cleared the CEL, and my car now runs just fine and the light has remained off. They never diagnosed the problem which was why I took my car in. The service department decided it need an engine replacement from just pulling the CEL codes and were ready to charge me thousands of dollars to replace an engine that needed only one small, inexpensive part. The solenoid should have been one of the first things the mechanic checked but never did.
Jenkins Kia sold me a car
Jenkins Kia sold me a car. We signed the paperwork. They registered the car to me. They literally registered the car to me and took my plate and my trade-in and a cashier's check for $20,000. They said it was on a lot in South Carolina and they would go get it. I have the VIN number on a vehicle registration certificate. They called me and told me it would be delayed. In three separate phone calls, I asked them or mentioned the possibility that the car I purchased had been sold and they were getting me a different car, and each time I was reassured that was not the case. I was called to go and get the car. I arrived and was told that was my car. It was a different color, a different interior, didn't have a sunroof, and had a different VIN. As it was not the car that was registered to me, I wonder what would've happened had I just said OK and driven off in it, and when they would've told me that it was not the car I had purchased. They ultimately gave me my trade-in back and have promised to give me my $20,000 on Monday. They have given me a receipt. I am very concerned that there will be issues with the registration, possibly the title, and that they will not give me my $20,000. They told me the financing had not been processed yet but I do not believe anything they say now that they have lied to me four times, and I worry that untangling all of this could do something to my credit. I am concerned that the tint that they put on my vehicle may not be road legal. If I have to pay to re-register my vehicle in the state of Florida, that will cost me money. If I have to get the car retitled, that could cost me money, and if I have to strip the tint, it could cost me money. I am filing a complaint today because they still have $20,000 and I may have numerous expenses from this. As far as I'm concerned, this is a bait and switch and the definition of fraud. Hopefully, the ComplaintsBoard.com can help assure that they make this right to me.
On September 30, 2022, me and my friend bought a 2020 Nissan Rogue SV from Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg
On September 30, 2022, me and my friend bought a 2020 Nissan Rogue SV from Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg. We talked to Shanon Wandel, a Product Specialist, through the Internet Sales Department. When we arrived for our appointment, Ty Watkins, a Financial Analyst, greeted us and took over as our salesperson. We made it clear that we only wanted to buy a pre-owned car without any accidents and with specific safety features. Throughout our discussions, test drive, and negotiations, we emphasized that we wanted a car without accidents, certain safety features recommended by Consumer Reports, good fuel efficiency, and within our budget. I asked Ty if the Nissan Rogue we bought was accident-free, and he assured us that it was. He said he would show us the paperwork, but we never received it. The car we bought was missing backseat headrests, which is a safety concern, and we only got one remote/key. We asked Ty about these issues, but he didn't respond to our texts or messages. Worried, I checked the car's history report myself and found out that it had been salvaged and sold at an auction. It was put back together well enough to deceive buyers like us with a clean title. I tried contacting the company, but they haven't been helpful. It seems like a shady organization.
Me and my hubby got a truck from Jenkins Mazda on Oct 24th
Me and my hubby got a truck from Jenkins Mazda on Oct 24th. But turns out the deal didn't go through and we only found out in December when the finance company for our old truck called us up. They sold it at some auction and now it's in a car lot in GA. We've been trying for 6 weeks to get our truck back and give Jenkins their truck back. The finance manager, sales manager and sales rep keep saying they're getting our truck and it'll be all good, but we're fed up with waiting.
I got a car from Jenkins Mazda in @November
I got a car from Jenkins Mazda in @November . They sold me a plan for maintenance that didn't work for the car I bought (didn't cover it and they wouldn't do the service). I went to another dealer for the service and talked to Steven. He said he'd fix it and give me a refund for the plan and pay me back for the service. It's been over 2 months and they don't answer my calls. When I went to the store, they were really unprofessional and rude. They said they had the mirror for the passenger side, but no one from the service department called me to install it. I'm really mad and just want my money and the mirror.
Me and my husband bought a 2020 Mazda CX30 from Jenkins Mazda on May 20
Me and my husband bought a 2020 Mazda CX30 from Jenkins Mazda on May 20. We gave them a deposit of $9,000.00 and traded in our 2018 Nissan Rogue, which was still under lease with Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. We financed $25,365.07 with Mazda Financial Services. We got the Mazda CX30, but on June 12, we received an email from Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation that our lease was past due. We contacted them on June 20, and they said that they have not received anything from Jenkins. We tried to contact our sales person, German B, but he did not respond. We went to Jenkins Mazda on June 21, and informed Mr. B about the problem. He said that he would try to find out what had happened on June 22, but we have not heard back from them yet. We are worried about our credit score.
I went to Jenkins Mazda in Ocala, FL on 4/6/22 for an oil change on my 2015 Mazda 6
I went to Jenkins Mazda in Ocala, FL on 4/6/22 for an oil change on my 2015 Mazda 6. They told me that all four tires needed to be replaced and they put on Nokian tires. They didn't give me any options or paperwork about the tires. The invoice didn't say if the tires were new or not. They said they were, but it wasn't on the invoice. On 7/11/22, I went back because I felt vibrations when driving at high speeds. I had only driven the car twice since April 6th. They said the vibrations were caused by flat spots and replaced two of the tires. When I picked up my car, I talked to the service manager, Steve S, about my dissatisfaction and asked for warranty information on the tires. He gave me a "special" warranty on the back of a business card. It said "30k mile road hazard on Nokian tires installed on Apr. 6-2022". I told him it was worthless because I didn't live in Ocala. He didn't resolve the issue with the tires and didn't give me any warranty paperwork. On 8/10/22, I emailed Steve S asking for the warranty paperwork. He gave me different information about the warranty and didn't respond when I asked for the manufacturer's warranty. On 8/18/22, I emailed the general manager, Jim B, and he never responded. I found out that Jenkins Mazda isn't an authorized dealer of Nokian Tyres so there's no manufacturer's warranty on the tires I paid over $700 for. I've never bought tires without a warranty and wouldn't have bought these if I knew. Jenkins Mazda won't respond to my inquiries to work out a resolution.
Bad car
I purchased a 2011 Mazda3 from Bill Britt Mazda on 7/22/2011. I traded in a 2000 Mazda Millenia. The advertisement for the mazda3 points out it is aerodynamically sound and it has had a wind tunnel test. It also states that the back is suitable for a child’s car seat. After my wife had driven the Mazda3 for awhile, she noticed that if you put down the back windows the noise became unbearable. In that I bought the car in July I would not put the back windows down I would have on the A/C. Of course the salesman would not tell me to put the back windows down. I called the salesman and was told, in effect, to live with it. The Mazda dealership is in Fredericksburg, Va..
What? The aerodynamic test has nothing to do with how wind sounds when you have your windows open. It basically deals with the design of your car so that it reacts to wind better and saves the car power and energy, thus raising your gas mileage. Wind is going to sound loud with the windows open in every car. And what about the car seat? Did it not fit? Did you not bring your car seat just to double check? Even so, I own a Mazda 3 and car seats (as well as a bunch of other stuff) fit just fine. You don't really have a complaint here, you just sound ridiculous.
