Katapult (formerly Zibby) Leasing computer

Y'all made the financing charges the same amount as the item bought. Then, if I miss one singular payment which has to be made once a week, y'all harass. How many calls have I received just today you ask? 3! It's only 1pm! And I was left a long, inaudible voicemail! I received 5 calls yesterday and 5 calls the day before! It's ridiculous!

Desired outcome: No more phone calls. Already paying too much!

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Financing approval

Went to PC Richard to look at a Traeger Grill. Got preapproved by Katapult for $750. However, because of unfavorable shipping and lack of professional assembly, I decided to wait. Got e-mails from Katapult advising that my approval is still there and list of sites I can also use at. Wayfair had same grill, with lower shipping and a professional assembly option. Went to checkout, was only offered a different financing option and my Katapult didn't pop up as I was told it should have. Contacted Katapult and told I was now declined, for fraud/too many attempts or something like that. Declined on the first attempt after getting the most recent email I got indicating Wayfair. So, if it's too many attempts, then, they should have told me that before and their Web site portal/dashboard should not show me as approved. Furthermore, at this point, by law, Katapult should be sending me adverse action information, which they are not doing. I was only told to try again in 30 days, but that's not right either. I already am approved and they keep emailing as such. Next e-mail I get I will flag as spam. They are operating with unfair, unethical and illegal business practices.

Desired outcome: Letting me use my approval at Wayfair

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Payment Does Not Reflect on my Account

I paid the full amount of the lease buyout on 3/5/2021 using my checking account. There was no reference number given or even a pending payment shown on my Account via the customer portal. I contacted them immediately via their live chat and was told it would take 7-10 days to reflect on my account and was given a reference number. I then contacted Katapult the following Monday 3/8/2021 as the money was debited from my account for the full buyout. The rep on the live chat then said there was no record of my payment. Frustrated I ended that chat and started a new one to which the rep then said I needed to send a copy of my bank statement to their Special Services reps. I did this immediately and received a message back saying the payment has not posted yet on their end and again said it'll be 7-10 days after submitting the payment. Now it's 3/17/2021 and still there is no reflections of this payment on my account and all I'm being told by reps is that it's still in transit. How is it in transit if the money has already been withdrawn from my account? Does this company not know how banking works? Because clearly something is not right in their finance department if it takes 7-10 days to show that I made a payment that has already been debited from my account.

Desired outcome: I would to have my account to reflect I paid off the lease.

Consumer beware of this company attempts at getting extra payments on your account. I have a lease my payments are due Bi-weekly. I had a payment due on 3/9/21 I made the payment on 3/8/21. I received an email from Katapult confirming the payment. I logged onto my dashboard on 3/9/21 it showed the payment pending. I knew it would take a few days to post, so...

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Payments

I paid my account off on 12/11/20. I did the early buyout. I have the confirmation email and everything. Yet katapult is still trying to take payments out every couple of weeks. I have tried contacting via email and your live chat which nobody ever answers on. My bank has returned them stop payment and authorization revoked which should have stopped them right there AND they still continue to come through...which that right there is a violation of NACHA operating rules. And when i check my account, it still shows i have a balance. Im getting very tired of this run around.

Desired outcome: Show my account as paid and quit trying to take my money

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Receiving a refund

Katapult made a bad experience with Wayfair a miserable experience. After Wayfair managed to lose a couch I ordered when shipping it to me, they then set up a replacement shipment. What they didn't tell me is that the couch was back ordered with no specific date as to when it would be available. The waiting and endless calls to Wayfair took months. Finally, I cancelled this purchase. All along I had made my payments to Katapult. When I finally realized this purchase just wasn't going to work out, I contacted Wayfair about being refunded and they said I had to get the ball rolling myself with Katapult (the reason I bring this up is that it would seem neither Wayfair nor Katapult would have taken any initiative to get my money back to me). I contacted Katapult and they said no problem. They even have it as an option in their phone customer service menu so its not as if the concept of needing to be refunded is outside of their realm of experience.

I then received an email saying that I needed to contact Wayfair and tell them to call Katapult. I was supposed to have my refund by this time. I contacted Wayfair and was told they couldn't talk to Katapult without me being on the line as well. So we had a 3-way call whose purpose I still don't understand. At the end I asked if they needed anything else from me. Katapult said no, it was done, 5 to 7 business I would see it in my account. I waited a full 2 weeks. I called again on a Tuesday and was told it would be in my account the following Monday. I waited until Tuesday morning and called. They had done absolutely nothing and really didn't know what I was talking about. There was a discrepancy in the amount between what Wayfair had sent to Katapult and the amount Katapult had said I paid. Instead of trying to resolve this, their apparent solution was to do nothing. I've been told its all taken care of now and I will see the money in my account in 3 to 5 business days. So this whole infuriating process continues. And don't get me wrong, every agent I spoke with was the very soul of politeness. Their disrespect was in the complete lack of followthrough and what I'm beginning to realize, dishonesty. KATAPULT, YOU TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT FLAWLESSLY EVERY WEEK BUT WHEN YOU NEED TO RETURN IT, SUDDENLY YOU ARE BAFFLED AND CONFUSED. Truly, a profoundly disappointing experience with both companies. Mind blowing levels of incompetence.

Desired outcome: Refund

Katapult (formerly Zibby) payment issues

I cannot change payment information. An agent assured me it would be taken care of and was not. Payments got behind. When I can log in (which is not often because the website locks up) it does not allow me to change it there, either. I have been trying for over a month to get this done.
They also keep charging an old account I used 1 time to make a payment and are taking double yet not crediting me for it right away. They will not save my payment information to assure payments are made from my correct account.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Finance

I've been trying to pay my bill for a week now and they say all my cards are declined which is total BS. It seems like they are trying to make sure I can't pay my bill on time and am forced to pay interest and fees. This company is not very organized or reputable. If you try to call them you get passed around from person to person or the annoying answering service. Do yourself a favor and don't do business with this company

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Refund not credited to my account, 65% increase in lease rate that I was not informed of.

I received a refund for $80 from wayfair that was to be credited to my katapult account. It is not reflected anyway and they are acting like they cannot get into contact with wayfair to correct this.

I am also being charged a 65% interest rate after never agreeing to that or being notified of it. I will only be paying what I owe or nothing I am so furious about this scam. Cannot believe wayfair is associating with this company.

They say I can access my agreement but there is nothing but an error message.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Unethical behavior

From day one of purchasing a couch through Katapult I was unable to see my contract, they said they would email it to me multiple times and never did until after the 90 days which would double the cost of my initial purchase. I also couldn't access or change my card to pay off the full amount before the 90 days, this is a complete scam and they act like they have no information on past conversations. I have paid 9/26 ($590+) payments on time as of today and they are still trying to make me pay another $1, 022.72 on a $700 purchase this is incredibly misleading and manipulative. I have attached a screenshot of the same chat I have had multiple times that refers me to call a number which never gets anything more resolved and nobody can seem to give me accurate information or accept an address change.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Auto pay

I canceled my auto pay after the first 2 payments. I canceled it September 2020. In October 2020 I receive a text reminding me of my auto paybdate. I contact Katapult and the agent says, "the auto pay is canceled but you will still get that reminder but you have to remember to make your payments for the agreement". 9 days later Katapult withdraws funds from my account. When I reach the agent says the auto pay is canceled but Katapult deducts payments if not made on the due date. That makes no since whatsoever.

Well now I'm told by Luz that I owe $205 and they are sorry that I was misinformed which I was not misinformed I have an agreement with them payments so now they are telling me that I need to pay the $200 by the oct 26 or it will increase. I think they are doing this in purpose to get more money.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Katapult lease

Katapult has scammed me and others. To being their legal documents are unclear and do not state the terms appropriately. I read fully the leasing terms before accepting and now I owe double the amount paid for the product - originally $1, 174. Furthermore, their customer service is unbelievably rude and incompetent, they dance around the questions without actually answering them. Subsequently, they are unwilling to work with their customers, although they state to be 'transparent, flexible and fair.'

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Nectar mattress

I bought a Nectar mattress. I agreed to a lease with Katapult, and I agreed to pay $800. I have paid roughly $550 towards the $800 for the mattress every two weeks. Now Katapult is saying I owe another $807, when I have already paid $550. Apparently, after 90 days, my interest rate increased to 65%. They said I "agreed" to a 65% interest rate when I would have NEVER agreed to that. That is ridiculous. I am not paying $1, 700 for your $800 mattress. You can have your mattress back.

So what was the outcome? I'm in the exact same situation. Nectar mattress and katapult financing. I didn't realize that I was paying double for the mattress and platform. I get they did a "favor" by loaning the money but I feel a little deceived. Let me know what you ended up doing. I thought about stopping payment.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) $1900 laptop/accessory + 2400 rental fee = $4300 worst purchase!

You are strapped for cash and need something right away. Katapult at first glance looks like a great idea to "finance" such an important purchase. In the moment you just sign off on things overlooking all the fine prints. Maybe you know what you are getting into and already plan to pay this off within 3 months. Pandemic hits. Furloughs become the norm. Even outright job loss. That "payoff in 3 months" backfires. Don't get me wrong, I love my purchase. This laptop kept me employed a bit longer. But it's a $1900 purchase that will cost over $4300 with taxes because there is an additional 2400 RENTAL FEE! Katapult is a very bad idea during these times. Great concept but execution is highway robbery!

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Beware omg beware!

Beware omg beware! We received an $1800 credit from katapult, wanted to use it for a new mattress. It all seems so wonderful at the start doesn't it? However getting down to the nitty gritty it's far from wonderful.

Before we pulled the trigger on a $1000 purchase with $45 down & "low" monthly payments, I did what you should all do and went to live chat with a rep to ask my specific detailed questions.

I specifically asked how much my monthly payments would be on a $1000 purchase and for how long I can get a lease for. I also told her my city and state plus zip code. The answers to these questions are critical as they are the criteria used to determine your monthly payments.

The important stuff: the "early purchase option is only 90 days! During that time, you only pay the price of what you bought plus taxes and an additional +5% leasing fee.

After this 90 days, omg... Wait for it, wait for it... The total amount of your lease is double the amount of your purchase. I thought I read that wrong, so I explicitly asked her is she saying our $1000 purchase is now $2000?! Her answer was"that is correct."

Our lease would have been for 12 months.

Now the pricing for $1000 purchase. She asked how often we are paid, my answer, every 2 weeks. The payments would have been $78 twice a month for a total of $156 a month. We might have considered this if it were $78 a month but not twice a month, screw that.

The moral of my story here is don't jump too fast on these types of lease options because you'll end up paying so so much more, I don't think it's worth it anymore.

I hope this helps some of you. This chat session with a katapult rep took place last night and I took screenshots.

We just backed out at the last minute, too. This is a total scam. With coupon codes and a sale, the total was $960. If we used Katapult, we'd end up paying $2, 600.

FORGET THAT NOISE!

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Non-stop calls

I have an account through Zibby/Katapult that had a single missed payment, but they are constantly harassing me by calling my cell phone between 6 to 20 times a day! How is this even legal? Isn't this considered harassment/unfair collection practices? They have continued to receive regular payments, but I have not managed to catch up the single payment that was missed. They are still being paid regularly, and should not be calling me literally a hundred times a week.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Payment process and customer service communication or lack thereof

Had a lease and paid off within the 90...
Had a lease and paid off within the 90 day period. No problems. 2nd I took out, not so simple. Thought I made the payment and realized I hadn't 11 days later. So I reached out to the company to see if could possibly make the payment for the payoff amount. Told it was too late. I was bummed out because on that date, my mistake would cost me an additional $100. But the rep told me that the amount I was viewing that day would not change. Did not reference the policy in the contract so I was paying based on that figure, that day to pay this off as soon as possible. Well, that was in March and we are now in May. Made a payment and saw that the payoff amount increase again! How is this so?!?!?! I know that there is interest but if I'm paying on time and more than the amount due, how does the amount increase? That makes no sense. Now I've called within on the due date if the payment and being told that there is nothing they can do and that I owe 100 more $ to pay this off. This is absurd and flippin' rip off! They are raping your money here. 65% goes to the lease and the other 35% to owning the product. If you use this service, please pay off by 90 day mark or pay close attention and take screenshots of what you see because you won't be able to find a trail of what the system was showing prior to that date if the information changed. And it's funny that when I made my recent payment, I received an email with the amount I paid and the payout amount but no other email has payout amounts. They must have received several complaints about this very issue from several people so this is information is now featured in an email that the customer can reference back to. I am very angry about this.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) Laptop purchase through zibby 04/03/2019

I purchased a laptop with zibby last year, and the interest rate when not being able to pay within 90 days is horrendous. I will never use your service again as the laptop ended up costing me double, became useless for the central purpose for which i bought it for and broke immediately out of warranty. I feel like a sucker and like a person who got dragged through the mud during my 1 year contract.

I also forgot the time that your company decided to pull funds out of my account without notice or authorization to make up for a late payment, therefore costing me more anyway with bank fees tacked on. If I find a way to take you to court over this I will. Wish i could get some of my wasted money back

Katapult (formerly Zibby) payment form

This company will not accept my bak card because it says it is considered a pre paid card which it is not. I can make mothly payments with this card but not for the $45 down payment. Makes no sense. I used this same card for the down payment and reoccurring payments every month for my last lease that I paid off and paid all the extra fees. I don't understand so I guess they have lost a good customer just when we don't have a mattress to sleep on and need one asap during this pademic. Thanks alot Katapult.
