Beware!
Beware! I was originally told when we signed with KC Disposal that our rate would never exceed $75 with the rate originally starting at $63 a quarter. Since then our rate has gone up to $99 a quarter without any notice. I called customer service only to be told that what I was originally told about the rate not increasing was not true and that they have increased their rates. The rep was able to lower my bill to $84 but still they would not honor the rate I originally signed for. We switched from Defanbaugh to KC Disposal based on their rates and had to pay $170 to Defanbaugh to pick up their trash bins but figured in the long run KC Disposal would be better option with their rates, turns out not true. Now I am stuck wondering how much more will the rates increase. Poor business and not mention I am paying more when there has been countless times I have had yard bags not picked up or had to pick up trash in my yard that fell out of the bin upon pickup, then place the trash back in the bin for next weeks pickup which further creates less room in the bin for future week trash. Be cautious on what you are told!

some time ago kc disposal came to our door, my wife thinking it was a better went to change to them, within a week we called kc disposal and said we do not want your service. We were definitely outside of the 30 days before we would have had their service to start when we cancelled. Since then I get get about 2-3 calls a week demanding a $75 service fee to cancel their service. Since we cancelled well outside of a 30 day window, their service was never started I really don't see how they can legally ask for a $75 cancellation fee. what are my options to get them to stop asking for the $75.00 fee and stop calling. thank You.

When the owner (that was what he said) came to my door to solicit my business we negotiated service for 63.00 per quarter, with a slight increase yearly never to exceed 75.00. I went from 63.00 to a 99.00 bill. That is a 50 percent increase. The promise was broken. I called the office and they said that person should have never made that promise. I think the persons name was ***, ***, or ***. I am still looking for my contract. I had a 20 minute conversation and negotiated and was told if I signed the contract that day my price was locked in. The office offered 84.00 with the excuse that their cost of recycling doubled. (Our recycling has been dumped in the regular truck on more than one occasion) I confided with the (Owner?) that i was recovering from a stroke and that I was trying to save all the money that I could. He seemed empathetic and said hes in a position to make the deal. A 50 percent increase is not acceptable especially when it was not supposed to happen.

We have sold our home so I called to notify KC Disposal of our sale and that we needed to cancel service since we are moving out of state. My cancellation request was confirmed. However, when I asked for the lady to check my account balance, to see if I would owe additional monies or would have a credit balance after my cancellation date of May 8th I was told the following... I made a payment in April for services for the months of April, May & June therefore would not owe additional monies. I asked for a refund of approximately half the fees paid since I would not receive the services for half of the time period I had pre-paid for. Response received was "We do not issue refunds". I asked "You do NOT issue refunds, seriously?". Response, "That is correct.". At this point I stated I would be filing a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com, KS State Attorney General's Office and my credit card company. In my opinion refusing to issue refunds for services NOT received, due to circumstances such as an out of state/out of service area move is the same as intentional theft... terrible, fraudulent business practice. An additional note regarding this company's business practices... when they came through our neighborhood looking to expand service to our area I was promised a 2 year locked-in rate guarantee... after 12 months my rate was increased by 30%... company refused to honor the 2 year rate when I called to complain earlier this year. I did not pursue the matter further at that time because I knew we would be moving soon. Buyer beware, terrible bait and switch will be experienced with KC Disposal.

I just got my renewal and my price went up 65%. SIXTY FIVE PERCENT. $300 a year more. It's insane. I've never seen this large of an increase in any service ever.
