Fine purchase experience
Fine purchase experience. Although I can't stress enough how much Fedex has been just a stone in my shoe. Their delivery drivers repeatedly sign for packages and then subsequently do not deliver them. This practice needs to stop somehow. I highly recommend KEH end this partnership with Fedex. I've literally had made a recent purchase of 2 Leica cameras M246M body and an MP film body ($$$$) and the delivery was signed for by 'Corona'. If these packages are to be signed for ONLY by the name listed on the order at that delivery address and aren't qualified to be held at a FedEx location ( as per the shippers instruction, i.e KEH ) I don't understand how it's possible that KEH or Fedex can remain a working relationship in good faith. I know I'm not the only one this has happened to.
In general, I love KEH and the products I purchase
In general, I love KEH and the products I purchase. I've bought several cameras, lenses, and accessories over the years. However, I recently had a bad experience where I sent a non-KEH-purchased camera body in for repair at KEH. It took a really long time to get back to me (almost a month). When it did come back, it was having the exact same problem I sent it in for. I chose KEH because I trust the company and have had many good experiences (even when I've had to send something back for warranty). I do not think I would choose you again for a repair that isn't under warranty, and the fact that it was inspected and said to be in GWO makes me a little concerned about your inspection process. I sent the failed repair back to KEH again yesterday, so with any luck, maybe I'll get it back in actual working order this time.

I love shopping with KEH for film cameras / accessories
I love shopping with KEH for film cameras / accessories, very much appreciate being able to buy from a company who can help deal with any issues that arise with shipping, etc. Everything I've ever gotten from KEH has been top notch. The prices on most items seems reasonable but sometimes can be upwards of the premium you'd pay on the regular used market. I supposed you're paying for the customer service should it be needed.
I will say the one and only downside I experience every time I shop here is the use of FedEx for shipping. I know it's out of KEH's hands, but dealing with FedEx (Home Delivery) is truly a nightmare time after time. The last camera body I ordered took a week to receive *once the package was marked out for delivery*. That is, 3-4 days for shipping, and one week for them to actually drop it off with me.
Everything was fantastic!
Everything was fantastic! There were two small shipping issues (neither your fault) and both were handled flawlessly. The lenses are amazing. If I could find ANY tiny fault in anything, one of the lenses I bought is a Sigma and it needs a firmware update that was released in December 2019, literally weeks before I bought it. A completely unreasonable expectation, and I never would have expected you to do it, but it is the only thing I can think of from the entire online order to editing the photos from my new lenses that gave me even the slightest hint of disappointment. And even though that's not your fault or responsibility, I wouldn't be surprised if you started updating the Sigma lenses just because you provide such amazing service.
11/10, A+ honour roll, absolutely the best online shopping experience I've ever had.
I start with KEH and found a lens at a price that
I start with KEH and found a lens at a price that I could afford. This time I could use my PayPal account because I was having it sent to my home address. Happy! I could not use my account last time because I was having it sent to my daughters address while I was visiting over the holidays. Sad. Because You use FedEx, I could not see the actual date expected for delivery. Then I got a phone call stating that tomorrow was the day and I had to be home to sign for the delivery. The phone call gave me a tracking number and asked if I wanted to change the address for delivery which was quick and confusing. I am glade I could be at home to sign. I told FedEx I was signing for the box only and not agreeing to the product inside. It looked as if it had not been used. I agree with YOUR assessment of condition. I am still trying it out to see if it fits my needs.
I've bought a camera body and a lens from KEH
I've bought a camera body and a lens from KEH. The camera body was rated EX+ and it was. Even though the Pentax K20D is about 10 years old, KEH could have sold it for new, there is not a mark on it. In contrast the lens, a Tamron 28-200 zoom, it was rated UG. It was the price that got me, $20. I figured I could afford to risk $20 and as long as it worked, I'd be happy. When it arrived and I pulled it out of the bubble wrap, I was stunned. Except for some fading of the lens setting rings, it was perfect! No marks or scratches anywhere. Not on the body, not on the glass. All the scales are complete and crisp. There are no rub marks on the mount, even the little red alignment dot is perfect. Best of all it works perfectly, too. I could not be happier. I originally used a lens from a film camera that I bought, but the Tamron has made the camera complete. I love it.
It took too long to get to what I wanted to do
It took too long to get to what I wanted to do ...purchase some display cameras besides some equipment...Sorting through bargains and then trying to find matching lenses to the camera bodies took forever (probably should have called and had an associate help)...I had to delete too many items and there was no way to put them saved aside and sort to find matches (needed to stay above $100 for free shipping), so I'll be back to start again.
I wanted some additional brands (older film cameras): Canon, Olympus , Minolta, Yashica, etc. but I'm only familiar with Nikon and Pentax mounts...need help on others.
Next time is it ok to ask an associate to find me $100 worth of assorted $5 (+/-) cameras and lenses for my display? (please let me know the easiest way of how to go about buying as-is/Bargain cameras in small bulk.).
Thanks and yes it's still a 5 star rating even if it overwhelmed me a bit...This was the longest time I've spent shopping here.
KEH's Discount Policy Needs Improvement: My Experience with the Canon Tripod Mount
So, I just bought the white Canon tripod mount for my 70-200 lens from KEH. It's the older version, but I don't mind because it's still a great product. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the 15% off coupon didn't apply to the white one, only the newer black version. I thought this was a mistake, so I called KEH a few times to confirm. Unfortunately, I had to wait on hold for a while each time, and then I had to leave my phone number for a call back. It was frustrating to waste so much time for nothing.
I don't understand why the older version isn't discounted, especially since it's not a very expensive item. It seems like it should be included in the Canon sale. I have a feeling that in a few days, everything will be 20% off, but I already bought it today. When I spoke to Nate, the salesman, he said that they have more black ones in stock, which is why they're discounted. That just seems strange to me.
One suggestion I have for KEH is to have someone dedicated to answering the phones. It would be nice to speak to a person right away instead of having to wait on hold and leave a message. Despite this issue, I still love KEH and have bought many items from them in the past. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this particular experience. Thanks for listening!
Disappointing Experience with KEH: Low Trade-In Offer and Damaged Equipment
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with KEH. I sent them a bunch of stuff to trade in, and they offered me way less than what they originally quoted me. I mean, come on, I bought all that stuff from them in the first place and it was in great condition! When I got my stuff back, I noticed that one of my lenses was damaged and the prism finder was missing. I tried to contact them about it, but they were no help at all. They just kept saying that the lens was already damaged when I sent it to them, which is a total lie. And they keep insisting that the prism finder was in the box when they shipped it, but it definitely wasn't there when I got it. They told me that I had to send them a picture of the package as it was received, but how was I supposed to do that if I had already opened it up and found out that stuff was missing? It's like they don't even care about their customers. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
Disappointing Experience with KEH: Delayed Replacement and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with KEH. I shelled out a good chunk of change for a Nikon d610 that was supposed to be in "excellent" condition, but when it arrived, the focus motor was busted. And let me tell you, that's a pretty big deal when you're dealing with older Nikon lenses like I am. So I called up customer service and they said they'd send me a replacement. Great, right? Wrong. Turns out they use ground shipping and then they gotta "inspect" the bad camera before they'll send me a new one. So now I'm out $800 and I don't even have a camera to show for it. And to top it all off, it's been almost three weeks and I still haven't received my replacement. What kind of customer service is that? I paid for overnight shipping and I paid for a camera in "excellent" condition. I shouldn't have to wait this long for a replacement. And don't even get me started on trying to talk to a manager. I was promised a call back last week and I still haven't heard anything. I called again today and got forwarded to voicemail. It's just not a good look for KEH.
Top-Notch Used Gear: A KEH Review
KEH is a great place to get your hands on some top-notch used gear. I was a bit skeptical at first about their subjective rating system, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the lenses I received. The "excellent" condition gear was just as good as the "excellent-plus" gear, and I couldn't tell the difference between the two. I have no idea how much better the condition can be for a "like new" rating, but I'm sure it's even better than what I got.
Even the gear in "ugly" condition looked great and was fully functional. I even had some luck with the "as is" gear working great. It's amazing how well KEH takes care of their gear, even when it's not in the best condition. The actual gear is top-notch, especially considering it's all used.
The only thing that gave me pause was the shipping. While everything arrived safely, the four lenses I ordered were wrapped in small bubble wrap, with some bigger wrap lining the box. I'm not asking for much more, but maybe some foam or other filler to keep the gear from bouncing against each other would be nice. I know shipping can be super rough on gear, and sometimes there's nothing you can do if it falls off the truck, but with gear this great, I would like it to have the best chance to arrive safe.
Overall, I would definitely recommend KEH to anyone looking for used gear. The quality of the gear is top-notch, and the prices are reasonable. The shipping could use a little improvement, but as long as everything arrives safely, I'm happy.
KEH's Exceptional Customer Service and Warranty Program
I gotta say, I'm a big fan of KEH now. Had an experience with them a couple weeks back that really won me over. So here's the deal - we bought a lens from them a while ago, and after some use, it started getting loose in the elements. Not ideal, right? So I called up KEH to see if we could replace it with a lens we could use while we waited for the original to get repaired. And get this - the sales person I talked to said to send it back under warranty! I couldn't believe it.
Now, usually when we've had to send lenses in for repair, it's been a whole ordeal. We'd send it in, and then wait for what felt like forever - usually a month or more - for it to come back. And half the time, it would come back with the same problem, or not working right. It was a real headache, and we'd usually just give up and return it if they wouldn't fix it. But not with KEH.
So I sent the lens in, expecting the usual wait. But within a week, they had it fixed and on its way back to us. And get this - it works great now! I'm so impressed with KEH's customer service and warranty program. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. So thanks, KEH! You've got a loyal customer in me now.

Keh Camera Review: Great Service, Beware of FedEx Drop-Off Centers
I gotta say, I've used Keh Camera twice before and I ain't never had no problems. But let me tell you, this last time I had a bit of a hiccup. Now, don't get me wrong, it ain't Keh Camera's fault at all. It's them dang FedEx folks. I had asked for my package to be held at a Walgreens FedEx center and when I got the notification that it was there, I went to pick it up. But the worker there had the nerve to tell me that my package wasn't there and gave me some serious attitude. I was about ready to throw down, but I called up FedEx and they sorted it out. Turns out the lady was just too lazy to check for my package. Can you believe that?
So, let me give y'all some advice. If you can't have your package delivered to your home or work, make sure you choose an actual FedEx location. Don't go for those drop off/pick up centers at stores. It ain't worth the headache and they won't take responsibility for nothing.
But let me tell you, once I got my hands on that camera lens, I was one happy camper. It was in the exact condition I had bought it in and worked like a charm. I highly recommend Keh Camera for anyone who's on a budget or looking for some top-notch used gear. They ain't let me down yet.
Mixed Experience with KEH: Excellent Customer Service, but Disappointing Product Condition
I've made my third purchase with KEH and I have to say, their customer service is always good. My first purchase was a Tamron lens, followed by a Sony a77 body, and just recently another a77 body. The previous two products were as described in their condition.
However, I'm not as happy with my most recent purchase. This camera body was listed in excellent condition, but upon receiving it, I observed that it is in worse condition than the previous camera body that was listed in bargain condition!
This most recent camera body has a massive number of visual scratches on the screen. The screen where it flips was very dirty, and it's missing the rubber eye piece on the viewfinder as well as a camera strap! There are Velcro pieces stuck below the flash and scratches in and around the viewfinder!
I did call KEH to discuss the missing rubber eyepiece protector. The representative was kind on the phone and tried to locate one, but unfortunately, they didn't have any.
What upsets me is that this listing said nothing about the merchandise not having a camera strap or eyepiece protector! The camera strap isn't as important, but the eyepiece is!
Lastly, KEH uses stock photos, so you don't see the merchandise you are actually buying, only a description and rating!
As for now, I'm trying to decide if I am returning it. I'm sadly dissatisfied with this purchase.
Thanks,
Darlyene Anstaett!
Great service! Got me in the next day with no wait time! Highly recommend!
Such amazing service! I came in because of a persistent flat tire that had been fixed multiple times by a chain business. Long story short this other place just patched the problem and sent me on my way while actually making it worse every time I went there. So I went to tires on the run and now I will never go anywhere else! They explained what was happening with my tires and why, and what they were going to do, It wasnt just a fix the problem for now and send you on your way sort of thing. This is a business that actually cares about your safety and the safety of others on the road. They then fixed the problem not only with the flat tire but on the other three as well. They also caught that my spare tire was no good and I ordered a new one through them and they did the rest. You get amazing, and personable service, while supporting this local business. I will always come back and recommend them to everyone!
We had a flat tire during Christmas holidays. We called the team at Tires On The Run in the morning. Their mobile unit and service technicians showed up at our residence the same day within 4 hours. They repaired the tire, in -25 degrees outside, and were finished and gone in under 30 minutes. We would highly recommend Tires On The Run, and we will definitely use them again. The convenience of a tire service coming right to your door is great, and the team and the service techs were very professional and courteous.
Great local company with amazing customer service - we've bought 3 sets of *** from them and have been very happy with all. Highly recommend!
Disappointing Experience with KEH: Signature Required, No Shoe, and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with KEH. I mean, I ordered a camera from them and had no idea that I would have to sign for it when it arrived. Like, what's up with that? If I had known that, I would have gone with a different company altogether. When I called to complain, they told me that I had to go to the FedEx facility to pick it up myself. Like, seriously? That's not my job, man. The person on the phone tried to tell me that it was because of the amount of the package, but I know that's a bunch of baloney. I had something delivered from FedEx just a week before and it cost more, but there was no signature required.
So, I told the customer service rep to cancel the delivery and issue a refund. They said they would, but I never got an email about it. And then, the package arrived the next day! Luckily, FedEx was cool and left it inside my apartment building without a signature. But if I wanted to return it, I would have had to go out of my way to make that happen. It's like KEH is doing everything they can to make things difficult for their customers. I ended up just keeping the camera, but I don't have a lot of confidence in it after this experience.
And to top it all off, the camera was supposed to come with a shoe, but it didn't. I mean, what the heck? I paid for a camera with a shoe, and now I have to go find one online. It's just ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend KEH to anyone. They seem like a bunch of frauds and liars. If you're looking for a good camera company, go with B&H or Adorama instead.
Avoid KEH for Selling Your Gear: Nightmare Experience and Damage to Equipment
I ain't never bought nothin' from KEH, but let me tell ya, tryin' to sell my gear to 'em was a nightmare! I wish I had read the reviews on here before I even considered it. I woulda saved myself a whole lotta trouble.
So, I used their website tool to get a quote for my gear. I followed their guide to assess the condition of my equipment and got an itemized quote for $1,312. I took extra care to wrap each item in bubble packing and lined the box with even more bubble packing for protection. But when KEH received my gear, they gave me a non-itemized quote for only $717! That's a huge difference from what the website quoted me. And it seems like other folks have had similar experiences, so it might be a common thing for 'em to do. When I asked 'em about the difference, they said one of my camera bodies had a scratch on the top. But that camera was in mint condition when I shipped it to 'em. We couldn't come to an agreement, so I asked 'em to send my gear back.
When I got my gear back, I found a scratch across the top of the camera and a gouge in the LCD screen that lined up with the scratch. It looked like someone had used a box cutter or knife to cut off the bubble packing. KEH said the camera was already damaged when they got it, but I know that ain't true. I sent 'em two emails about the damage and didn't get any response. It wasn't until I threatened to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Division of the Georgia Department of Law that they finally responded. And even then, they left me voicemails that made it seem like they had tried to contact me before, which wasn't true. I asked 'em to communicate with me in writing, but they still kept leaving me voicemails. They even sent me an email that made it seem like they had tried to contact me more than they actually did.
We had a few more email exchanges, but they still wouldn't take responsibility for the damage to my camera. So now I've filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and I'm lookin' into legal action.
If you're thinkin' of sellin' your gear, I'd stay away from KEH. Based on my experience, they ain't worth the trouble.
Poor Customer Service Experience with KEH - Lens Order and Delivery Review
The lens I bought from KEH was pretty good, but the ordering process was pretty simple. However, the support I received from them when I missed my delivery was really bad. It took them three whole days to deliver my product, and I think it's because the Customer Service Lead, S. Grieco, didn't do his job properly.
Even though I was at home, I missed the original delivery. I called FedEx to hold the package, but they refused and said that KEH had to ask for the hold. I called KEH four times, but they didn't answer until the fourth call. They said they were placing a hold, but when I went to the FedEx store, the assistant manager didn't know anything about it. I called KEH again, and they said they had held the package at the distribution center.
I went to the distribution center after work, but I had to wait for three hours in a lobby filled with alarms and flashing lights. It was really hard for me because I'm autistic, and it was like torture for me. I missed out on three hours with my son, and I was really upset.
The customer service lead didn't do anything to help me, and he didn't even offer any compensation until I asked for it. They only offered me 10%, which I think is insulting. I had to go through a lot of trouble to get an additional 10% on a future purchase.
Overall, I think KEH has really bad customer service, and I won't be ordering from them again. They need to train their customer service lead better and step up their game.
KEH Complaints 12
Don't Sell Your Gear Here!
I have no experience buying from KEH, but based on my experience trying to sell equipment to them I'd advise anyone considering it to avoid it at all costs! I only which I had seen the reviews here from those that had tried to sell gear to KEH first... I would avoided them myself.
I used the tool on their website to get a quote for the gear I wanted to sell, using the guide provided on the website to assess the condition of the equipment. The website provided an itemized quote with a total of $1,312. I wrapped each item in bubble packing and then lined the box in bubble packing to provide additional protection. After receiving the gear KEH provided a non-itemized quote of $717... a far cry from the $1,312 quoted by the website. It looks like other reviewers have had similar experiences so maybe this form of bait and switch is common practice. I asked about the discrepancy between the quotes and was told a camera body had a scratch on the top, but the camera in question was shipped to them in mint condition. After failing to come to an agreement I asked them to ship the equipment back. Upon receipt I found a scratch going across the top of the camera and a gouge in the LCD screen in line with the scratch on the top! It basically looks like someone used a box cutter or knife to cut off the bubble packing. KEH claims the camera was already damaged when they received it. I'm not sure if the person that scratched it didn't claim responsibility so their customer service doesn't know any better or if they're just dishonest. I do know that I sent them two e-mails about the damage and didn't receive any response, and only after notifying KEH that I was filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Division of the Georgia Department of Law did I receive ANY response from them. The first was a voicemail which falsely implied they had made previous attempts to contact me. When I replied to that voicemail with an e-mail I received another voicemail reply with similar implications. I again replied via e-mail stating I wanted all communication to be in writing. I finally received an e-mail which again falsely implied more efforts at contacting me were made than actually occurred.
There have been a couple of additional e-mail exchanges but they still refuse to accept responsibility for the damage done to my camera while in their care. I've now filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Comission and I'll research legal recourse.
If you're looking to sell equipment, based on my experience I would stay far, far away from this company.
The lens I bought was great
The lens I bought was great. Ordering was easy. However, supports response to a simple missed delivery was abysmal!
It took 3 days past my delivery date to get my product. I attribute this to the complete lack of leadership by Customer Service Lead, S. Grieco.
Despite being home, the original delivery was missed. No worries. A hold is an easy thing. I called FedEx, they refused a customer initiated hold citing frequent theft of packages resulting in a restriction being placed on the KEH account requiring KEH ask for the hold. I called KEH within half an hour of the missed delivery, no answer. Left upset voicemail. Repeat the process 4 times. The fourth call picked up and said they were placing a hold. Called FedEx to confirm, no hold placed. Exchanged a few calls and emails. We concluded I would not be getting my lens that day and I'd have to go to a local store to get it the next day.
Showed up at the FedEx store. The assistant manager was completely unaware of any hold on the package and confirmed it wasn't at his location. Called KEH to find out what's up. Got a regular support rep that was really nice, but ultimately powerless to do anything beyond put a note on the FedEx coordinators desk.
Next morning, no call from anyone to let me know the plan on how to get my lens. I had to call. KEH did some work in the background and said they held the package at the distribution center and it would be ready for pickup. Drove to the distribution center after work. Waited in a lobby filled with alarms and flashing lights FOR THREE hours. The worst case scenario for someone on the autism spectrum. I was sitting there for three hours in the flashing lights and alarms bells listening to the security guards laugh at a woman with back pain crying because FedEx lost her bed and she would have to sleep on the floor for another week and commenting about white people being stupid. And worse than all that, I missed out on 3 hours with my son that I only see on weekends while FedEx looked through their entire sort line for a package that was already in a Managers office.
And all the customer service lead could say was sorry. They didn't even offer any sort of perk or compensation till I asked for something on the 2nd day. By time I got the lens, the offered 10%. That's insulting! 10% is an oops or a mild inconvenience. Making an autistic person wait 3 days and then sit in a room that meets the legal definition of cruel and unusual punishment for three hours straight isn't a 10% oops category. The US military uses loud noise and lights as a tool in torture and influence on the battlefield. That's insulting!
I gave the customer service lead an opportunity to reexamin what his customer went through. He came back with an additional 10% on a future purchases, but I had to jump through hoops to get it.
3 days of me driving the support process with the customer service lead asking me what I'd like to do. I'd like to have KEH step up and get things handled.
This is hands down the worst showing of any online retailer supporting their customer I have ever seen.
I will NOT be ordering from KEH again. You can take that 10% and spend it on training for the customer service lead.
Impressed with KEH: Quality Pre-Owned Gear and Top-Notch Customer Service
I just made my first purchase from KEH and I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed. The real test of any company is the quality of the products they sell, and KEH definitely delivers on that front. I was in the market for some pre-owned photography equipment and KEH had just what I was looking for.
Now, I know that buying pre-owned can be a bit risky, but KEH takes all the guesswork out of it. They thoroughly inspect and grade all their gear, so you know exactly what you're getting. And let me tell you, the lens I ordered was in pristine condition. It looked like it had never been used!
But it's not just the quality of the equipment that impressed me. KEH's customer service is top-notch too. I had a special request for the shipping of my order, and they were more than happy to accommodate me. I asked for the lens to be shipped in a heavily cushioned box, and they made sure to do just that. And because I live in an apartment building with lots of floors, I asked for the order to be handed to me personally. They even gave me the option to sign for the delivery, which gave me peace of mind knowing that my order was safe and secure.
All in all, I'm really happy with my experience with KEH. They've got a great selection of pre-owned gear, and their customer service is top-notch. I'll definitely be shopping with them again in the future.

KEH Camera Review: Great Selection, Terrible Customer Service
I gotta say, I had a bit of a rough time trying to get in touch with someone over at KEH. I was trying to get some more info on a camera they had for sale, but the online details just weren't cutting it for me. So, I gave 'em a call and was put on hold for a whole hour! Can you believe that? I tried calling back a few times, but every time I did, I just got put back on hold. It was super frustrating, let me tell you.
Now, I'm not one to complain too much, but this kind of customer service is just not acceptable. I mean, I get that they might be busy, but an hour on hold is just ridiculous. And sure, they have a message system, but who knows if anyone will actually get back to you in a timely manner. It's just not a good look for a company that's supposed to be selling high-quality camera gear.
Honestly, I think KEH needs to seriously step up their game when it comes to customer service. Maybe they need to hire more people to answer the phones or something. Or, at the very least, they should give callers the option to talk to a live person instead of just being stuck on hold for an hour. I mean, come on, guys, it's not rocket science.
All that being said, I do have to give KEH credit where credit is due. Their website is pretty easy to navigate and they do have a good selection of cameras and accessories. So, if you're willing to take your chances with their customer service, you might be able to find a good deal on some gear. Just be prepared to wait on hold for a while if you need to talk to someone.
Disappointing Experience with KEH: Broken Camera and Unexpected Duties
The camera I received from KEH (keh.com) was not in the best shape. The LCD screen on the back was broken and fell apart in my hand when I tried to open it. It was disappointing to see that the screw mounts were both broken. I haven't turned on the screen yet, but I don't think this camera can be considered to be in excellent shape. Additionally, the mildew smell was not reassuring and made me question the rating system used by KEH.
Another issue I had was with the duties I had to pay. Revenue Canada assessed the camera at over $500.00US, which was a surprise to me. When I buy through eBay, I am usually shown what the duties are and pay duties on the amount paid, not on some arbitrary value that I cannot challenge. I never have this issue when the seller sends the item through USPS. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the shipping method would be through Fedex when I chose it. While it may be convenient for KEH, it was an outrageous price for me to pay.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with KEH. Unless I can use USPS for shipping, I will not be buying from them again.
Disappointing Experience with KEH: No Protection, No Pictures, Un-Details Descriptions, and Non-Competitive Prices
I have to say, my experience with KEH was not great. First of all, there was no protection for the items I purchased. I mean, come on, you're selling expensive camera equipment and you can't even throw in a lens cap or something to protect the glass? That's just lazy.
Secondly, there were no actual pictures of the items on the website. I had to rely on the vague descriptions and hope for the best. And let me tell you, the descriptions were un-details. I had to do my own research to figure out what I was actually buying.
Lastly, the prices lately have not been competitive to others. I could have easily found the same equipment for a better price elsewhere. It's just not worth it to pay more for subpar service.
My last experience with KEH was probably my last. I bought a Leica lens for $1600, which was a big purchase for me. And what did I get? A lens with no caps or anything to protect the glass. It's like they don't even care about the quality of their products.
I've bought several pieces of equipment from KEH in the past, and the experience was kind of the same. But when it comes to expensive glass, not having extra protection for the glass is just unacceptable. It really flipped my opinion of the company.
To make matters worse, the lens I received was not even the one mentioned on the website. KEH listed the higher/later version of the lens, but that's not what I got. I had to return the lens and now I'm waiting for my full refund. But I missed the event where I wanted to use the lens, which was a huge disappointment.
Overall, I would not recommend KEH. The lack of protection for the items, no actual pictures, un-details descriptions, and non-competitive prices make it not worth the hassle. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for your camera equipment needs.
Mixed Experience with KEH: Great Deals, but Shipping and Customer Service Issues
Man, I gotta say, I was pretty ticked off by the whole shipping situation with KEH. Like, seriously, who requires a signature on delivery these days? And to top it off, they wouldn't even let me pick up the package at a FedEx location. I had to call up KEH and beg them to ask FedEx to hold it for me. And get this, they didn't even tell me about the signature requirement until the second time they tried to deliver it to my house. Like, come on, KEH, give a guy a heads up so I can avoid all this hassle.
And don't even get me started on their website. I was trying to get in touch with customer service, but the "contact us" section said they were available until 8pm EST. Well, turns out that's only for sales. Customer service shuts down three hours earlier. I mean, come on, KEH, you gotta make that distinction clear on your website.
But you know what? Despite all that, I gotta say, my overall experience with KEH was pretty decent. They had some great deals on camera gear, and the stuff I ordered arrived in good condition. So yeah, those service issues definitely put a bit of a cloud over things, but I'd still consider shopping with KEH again in the future.
Mixed Experience with KEH: Bargain Camera Had Issues, but Still a Fan
I recently purchased an Olympus OM-G camera and a zoom lens from KEH, and while the lens seems to be in good condition, the camera itself had a bit of an issue. The mirror was stuck halfway up or down, which was a bit strange. The camera was listed as being in bargain or less than good condition, but I still decided to purchase it because I figured if it didn't work, I wouldn't have spent too much money on it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a simple fix for the issue in the manual, so I'm a bit at a loss.
I usually buy used gear from KEH to avoid these kinds of problems, but this time I decided to take a chance on a bargain item. I paid only $13 for the camera, so I can't really complain too much about the issue. However, since you asked for feedback, I thought I would share my experience.
Overall, I've spent well over $1,500 at KEH, and I plan to continue buying from them in the future. While I understand that $1,500 may not seem like a lot in the world of photography gear, it's still a significant amount of money to me. I do think that KEH could improve their descriptions of the items they sell, though. It would be helpful if they were more specific to the camera or lens being sold, so that buyers like me can have a better idea of what we're getting into.
Despite the issue with the camera, I still appreciate the low prices and good selection of used gear that KEH offers. I will definitely continue to shop with them in the future.
Disappointing Experience with KEH: No Tracking, Signature Required, and FedEx Issues
I gotta say, my experience with KEH was less than thrilling. I mean, come on, they never even gave me a FedEx tracking number for my order! And I checked my spam folder, thank you very much. Plus, they didn't even tell me that they require an adult signature for a measly $60 purchase. I mean, I live in a locked condo, which is way more secure than leaving a package on the front step of my old single family home.
But here's the kicker: FedEx didn't even follow their own "three attempt" policy before sending the item to their depot. And they straight up lied about it. I know KEH isn't responsible for FedEx's policies, but they did choose to contract with them for delivery.
Honestly, if I wanted to drive 30 minutes each way to buy a filter, I would have just gone to a retail store in the first place. I could have had the item sooner, and at the same net cost after factoring in the value of my time.
I know KEH is supposed to be the biggest used equipment vendor out there, but they're not the only game in town. And sorry, guys, but overall this experience was just not good.
Beware of KEH.com: A Bait and Switch Experience
I recently had the opportunity to sell some of my camera equipment on KEH.com. I had two Nikon camera bodies and four lenses that were in great condition, with no wear and tear, and were working normally. I was happy to receive a quote from KEH, which was lower than what I was hoping for, but better than what other vendors in this space were offering. KEH's website made it seem like the equipment would be quoted within a "guaranteed" payout range, so I was satisfied with the quote.
However, when I received my final quote back, it took a whopping eight weeks, and I was shocked to see that they had nickel-and-dimed me by 60% less than my initial quote. Everything was reduced, even equipment that they graded as Excellent and Excellent+. Two pieces of equipment were lowered to $0 from claims of "impact damage" and "repair costs". I was very disappointed with the final quote, and they had no real explanation as to why they had reduced the quote so much. It just seemed like their standard of business, another way to screw over customers in order to maximize their margins.
This was a blatant example of a bait and switch, and I will never be doing business with KEH again. I would advise others to avoid them at all costs, or at least be aware that they will try to screw you over in any way possible. It's a shame that they operate in this way, as it's not fair to their customers who are just trying to sell their equipment.
Technical Issues with KEH's Website: Frustrating Checkout Experience
I had a bit of a frustrating experience with KEH's website recently. I was trying to place an order on the evening of April 11th, but encountered some technical issues. I had added an item to my cart and received confirmation that it was there, but when I tried to checkout, the page wasn't available. I even tried going to the KEH homepage on a fresh browser, but that wasn't working either. I waited about 20-30 minutes and tried again, but still no luck.
The next morning, I tried a few more times, but still couldn't get through. I didn't receive any error messages or suggestions for what to do if encountering technical problems on the site. I was getting pretty frustrated at this point, but decided to give it one more shot before giving up completely. This time, I tried using Microsoft Edge instead of Internet Explorer, just in case it was a browser compatibility issue. And finally, success!
While I'm glad I was eventually able to place my order, I do think KEH could do a better job of addressing technical issues on their site. It would be helpful if the checkout process was compatible with Internet Explorer, or if there was a notice on the shopping cart page advising customers to use a different browser. I also think it would be useful to have some sort of error message or troubleshooting guide available for customers who encounter issues like I did.
Overall, I'm happy with the product I received from KEH, but I hope they'll take steps to improve their website and make the ordering process smoother for customers in the future.
Mixed Experience with KEH Camera: Great Gear, Frustrating Order Process and Customer Service
I gotta say, I've been a pretty loyal customer of KEH for a while now. I've bought camera gear from them a bunch of times and I always recommend them to my fellow photographers. But man, this last order was a real headache.
I tried to place the order like three or four times today and every time it took the money out of my account but the order never actually went through. It wasn't until the last time that it finally worked. And let me tell you, I was getting pretty frustrated. I mean, I needed this camera in a pinch and I was counting on KEH to come through for me.
So I tried calling their customer service line to see what was going on, but I couldn't get through to anyone. I called like a bunch of times and left a bunch of voicemails but nobody ever got back to me. And that's not cool, you know? I mean, I get that they're probably busy and all, but come on. A little customer service goes a long way.
Anyway, by the time my order finally went through, my shipping date got pushed back a day. And that's not the end of it. I finally figured out that the reason my order wasn't going through was because my name was on the shipping and billing address but the card belonged to my husband. But the mobile site was a total mess and it was impossible to tell where any of the information belonged. And nobody ever bothered to tell me that was the issue.
So yeah, I'm a little disappointed this time around. But I still think KEH is a great place to shop for camera gear. Just maybe don't use their mobile site if you can help it. And if you do run into any issues, don't count on their customer service to be much help.
