Horrible, just horrible
The homes are cheaply made, and the customer service is terrible. 2-10 Warranty informed me that any customer who has any complaints are to contact them directly for warranty request or repairs. I contacted Kerley and the representative/secretary/whomever was rude and told me that this is what HOME ownership is all about when I expressed my frustration and she refused to have someone come out to access why my ceiling is retaining moisture and my floors are seeping water through the cracks.

We just need for KFH to take care of any pending and future warranty service requests
We just need for KFH to take care of any pending and future warranty service requests. We have generated several service requests which have yet to be assigned to any subcontractors. We have contacted several directly, and they have yet to be reached by anyone from KFH. Several of the warranty repair requests had to be reentered as they no longer appear on the Web site. A pending status of over forty-five days is just not acceptable.

My house was built in 2015 by Kerely Family homes
My house was built in 2015 by Kerely Family homes. My electrical panel was sprayed by the contractors and it jas corroded the panel over time. My panel is corroded by the paint that was sprayed by the Kerely Family homes. I called the Warranty company listed on my panel and they said it was out of warranty timeline. Kelley Family homes should replace my panel because this is not a wear and tear situation. I also had a private electrician come and take a look and was told to have the home builder replace the panel.

My warranty issues have not been fully resolved
My warranty issues have not been fully resolved. I've spoke with the warranty dept for months, but can't get my work completed. My warranty issues are basically Kerley not dealing with there contractors. I've been told to contact several contracts that have not return my calls, or promised call backs that I never received. I informed Kerley warranty dept of these issues and have been told they would deal with the issues, but I know get the same treatment...no return calls or emails. I've had Kerley contractors come out to do work that they have not complete.

We moved into a new home on 12/1
We moved into a new home on 12/1. Since then we have had two integrated LED recessed light fixtures that have failed. We advised the warranty department who advised we needed to change bulb, but this fixture was hardwired. No response from warranty. There were no air filters in our AC Units and we reported with no response. Our microwave blew out and we have asked warranty department to assist. They have responded that we need to take all necessary steps and refuse to assist. This house has been lived in for 5 months and this shouldn't be happening. We need assistance with these matters. We have been working with Sandra Allen who has been incredibly rude and unwilling to help with anything.

My husband and I signed our binding contract with Kerley on Dec 23, 2021
My husband and I signed our binding contract with Kerley on Dec 23, 2021. At that time, we provided all structural upgrades we were interested in changing. We visited the design center on January 8th and was informed no pricing was available for our plan, but we could pick out our selections and once pricing came in we would be notified. It was February 15th before we received final pricing on structural and Feb 17th for design items. We are now 5 months in and do not even have a slabbed poured and they refuse to provide us with a closing date. Two lots that signed just last month are already being framed (one being the EXACT same floor plan as ours). I was told by Linda Brown the on-site realtor exactly when these other lots signed. They are intentionally stalling on our lot because we signed before all of the price hikes. We complained to Clay Zimmerman and was told that we could have our earnest money back. What we want is for them to build our home. CurrentlyConsulting w/attorney.

Kerley Family Homes has not completed the first year warranty repairs on our home, which were supposed to be done in June
Kerley Family Homes has not completed the first year warranty repairs on our home, which were supposed to be done in June . Kerley Family Homes was scheduled to complete the first year warranty repairs in November . Due to COVID-19, the repairs were postponed until June . The repairs had to be completed between June 22 and 24, however the repairs took months. After countless calls and emails and efforts to keep a communication channel open, as of today, some repairs have not been completed, such as the doors of the house that need to be adjusted because they cannot be locked. In addition, a bathtub was poorly repaired, damaging the bathroom floor with paint. Kerley has not responded to our complaints. This bathtub was damaged from the moment of purchase of the house. It was clearly in need of repair. The Kerley Family Homes employee, who was in charge of the walk-through, told us that the bathtub would be repaired along with the first year warranty repairs. The vendor who came to our home to repair the bathtub did a mediocre job. Before leaving our home, I told him that I was not satisfied with the job. The employee said that he would return to our home with his supervisor, but that never happened. On September 10 I sent Kerley Family Homes an email claiming that our home repairs be completed. I have not received any reply yet.

Kerley Family Homes igno I went under contract on a inventory home located in Sandtown Estates at 3054 Mountain Shadow Way Marietta, GA in September . We were not aware of the severe grading issues with the retaining wall and the landscaping. Our independent certified home inspection indicated failed/unsatisfactory grading and drainage. I presented KFH with recommended solutions to remedy the issue provided to me by a certified landscaping company. KFH refused to correct said grading/drainage issues according to my recommendations thus leading to me requesting the contract be terminated. I was asked to meet with the VP of Sales, Clay *** and the Construction Manager the day before closing. During this meeting they attempted to show and explain steps taken to resolve the drainage/grading issue. At this point I had lost all confidence in the builder and property. I chose to proceed with terminating the purchase agreement. My realtor reached out to the sales agent, Linda *** and the VP of Sales, Clay *** several times to discuss refunding of $5k in earnest monies paid. I myself also attempted to communicate with Clay *** to no avail. My last attempt to communicate with Kerley Family Homes were certified letters sent individually to Clay ***, VP of Sales and Presidents Gene and Joe Kerley on October 6th. I have yet to receive a call, email or return letter from anyone at Kerley Family Homes regarding the matter.

Spent months trying to purchase a home with them with several changing narratives and issues before I finally just walked away My agent called
Spent months trying to purchase a home with them with several changing narratives and issues before I finally just walked away My agent called and let on-site agent know we were coming to select lot and sign contract in order to take advantage of expiring promotion. On site agent consented but upon arrival was very rude and declined to complete contract as " it would take hours and she didn't have that time." My agent and I still decided to walk the lots and check out the community. While walking the agent came out in her car to let us know she was leaving and we asked if we came back on the next business day if she would honor the promotion I would be missing out on due to her unwillingness to complete the contract that day, she said no. I contacted the Vice President of Sales to express my concern over my recent experience and after weeks of playing phone and email tag with him, he finally agreed to extend the promotion to me. More days go by as I wait for updated paperwork from the onsite agent. I finally receive the paperwork and understandably have some questions as a first time homebuyer and request some time to review with an attorney. The on-site agent does not reply to any of my or my agents questions. A few days go by and I finally get a reply with the price has now increased another $5k and you will need new paperwork in place. I inquire about the promotion that was promised and it is added to the paperwork. I complete all paperwork and turn in the check for earnest money only to get home to an email stating they are no longer honoring the promotion. So nearly two months, two price increases and countless hours of back and forth all for nothing because I'm still without a home. Absolutely awful customer service and no integrity.

Raw sewage in my front yard/across the walk-way for 8 weeks following unsolicited Kerley repairs
Raw sewage in my front yard/across the walk-way for 8 weeks following unsolicited Kerley repairs. No response to weekly phone calls. Unit in my row masonry exterior was falling. Kerley determined riebar was not installed in window wells, assured me it was not structural and would impact my unit but said they'd have to dig up all of the window wells. Dug up wells on the entire row. After they were done I noticed no cap on pvc pipe in front yard so I called Kerley to ask that they replace the cap. a few days later I noticed a bad smell and liquid in the pipe. I called again. A few days later there was more water running across the sidewalk and wet paper covered the pipe and side walk. I called again. Now the water and paper runs across the length of 1 1/2 sections of the side walk from my house to my neighbors. I've called 3-4 times since. No interior problems in my unit but two units in the row had back-ups before and after the window well repairs. My next door neighbor has had some type of water issues in her basement twice. I saw big fans in another house two doors from her. I have to try to jump over the raw sewage it if I use my front door to take a walk (I'm 58 yrs old) so I don't track the germs in my home. Can't sit on my front porch anymore. Daily I see a neighbor turning up her nose as she walks past with her dog so I reported it to our HOA so they wouldn't think I'm ignoring it. I've been taking pictures and video and checking my basement frequently as it seems it is getting heavier. When I call they take a message, say someone will be in touch with me but no one has to date and I've been calling since the first week of September. I put a video on my twitter to ask for help and friends said go back to t whoever did the work. I just put a video on Kerley's Twitter and Instagram and called and told them. They transferred me to the warranty department but no one ever answered the line. Kerley still has not completed the repairs from my 11 month walk through either. Insurance does not cover poor workmanship so I need them to do provide quality repairs and sooner than later. I guess the last thing for me to do is report it to the local news and get an attorney if I can't get it resolved through you. Is this something that I should report to the attorney general's office?

I am learning that apparently the warranty seems to be the issue with this builder
I am learning that apparently the warranty seems to be the issue with this builder. We have black mold in our windows due to negligent builders. I am writing this letter in deep regret of a very important decision I have made to be a homeowner of a Kerley Family Home. I live in the Autumn Ridge subdivision on Lot 5. My husband and I were one of the first homeowners in the neighborhood. Of course we were privy to the one-year workmanship warranty as well as the 2-10 Warranty. However, the damage and the issue we have come across.Would have not been anything that would have been discovered in that first year. This would be something that occurred gradually and is now causing damage to our once "like new" home. In Late August/Early September (During the start of Hurricane Season) we noticed that during heavy rain, our windows would leak around the window sills. It appears during an inspection received, that the windows have not been properly sealed in this home. Something you are not able to see instantly. This is something that happens gradually. It has been so bad that the walls are permanently stained. Not only are the walls stained, and the window over the bathtub in the master bathroom is accruing black mold. I reached out to the warranty department on multiple occasions and I was clearly ignored. It took for my father, a contractor, to reach out and explain the dangers of this for them to even have Jerry *** come to the home. No one has been pleasant in this, and it is not any of our fault. I bathed my toddler in this bathroom on a daily basis. Imagine the danger that is being put on my family. Jerry stated that he would tell the warranty department to have the window manufacturer come out. He also even said the window in the master bathroom he knew FOR SURE was a defect. Due to them removing a few from other homes (before or after people moved in, I am unsure) I have tried following up several times and no one has answered. Imagine my concern, when my husband and I have put our last into this home and this company, and we are being treated like scum. It truly hurts. To know that a bad window is in this home. They were aware and did not alarm us, making us feel scammed. I have read several reviews and apparently this is common for this company. I had greater hopes. I wanted to send this let you all know I have pulled the permit and will be doing an investigation, as well as hiring another inspector to run a thorough inspection. Once these things have happened, this will then be a Civil Lawsuit. The mission and values that this company stands on, they do not stand behind. As a parent, a taxpayer, a homeowner, this concerns me and I am deeply disappointed. I could only hope we can come to a resolution, but this seems to be a bigger situation. I will be filing a complaint on the head contractor and I will pursue this until some justice comes from this.

My building contract indicated all plumbing fixtures would be brushed nickel, but they are chrome
My building contract indicated all plumbing fixtures would be brushed nickel, but they are chrome. Site employees were unwilling to admit the error. I purchased a newly built townhome and am very happy with the home. I had two concerns: The first was, the contract lists that the plumbing fixtures are brushed nickel. During my walkthrough with the construction site manager, I asked about the fixtures throughout the home and he confirmed they are chrome. When I stated the contract indicates brushed nickel, he corrected and stated they are brushed nickel, just a different, more shiny brushed nickel. I stayed silent, but visited a nearby hardware store to see what changes may have been made in brushed nickel since I last built a home, just in case I was mistaken. Needless to say there was no change. I shared this information with the site sales agent and she first shared there must have been an error and she would have reviewed. After not hearing back a week or more, I reached back out for a status. She then stated that yes the contract indicates Nickel, but it was an error and none of the new homes have nickel. My argument was that it doesn't matter whether it was an error, I was of the impression that I would have nickel and it was in my contract; I wondered how it could be resolved. She then indicated that it was simply the way the contract was written, but it didn't mean I was to have nickel. She asked that I come by the office so she could show me in my contract that I was not charged and if nickel were meant to be installed, I would see an extra charge. I know how to read a contract and there is nothing in the contract to indicate I was mistaken about my impression that my specific home was meant to have nickel. I continued to send emails to ask for a status or how this could be resolved but the response was silence, which translated to me that the company's position was that if they ignored me, I would go away. So I decided to stop pursuing it, and would just report to the ComplaintsBoard.com which I am now doing. The second was with a kitchen cabinet, and was properly resolved thru the construction site manager. I did not make him aware again that the chrome vs brushed nickel issue had never been resolved and he didn't bring it up. There was another cabinet that was not included but I desired to have; I had already been advised I could not purchase directly from the builder. I asked the gentleman if he knew the best way to replace and he mentioned that he thought he could help. I waited and followed up a couple of times, but did not receive any follow up response to my 2nd message. I had decided that if he could resolve my unofficial cabinet issue, I would let the chrome question go. Since I did not received the assistance, I made the decision to move forward with this complaint. I would like an equitable resolution to the issue of the chrome vs brushed nickel fixtures, rather than to have my concern brushed off as though my complaint is unfounded and as such did not even deserve to be fully addressed. Thank you. This was the final of 3 concerns I had during the process but there was no attempt to resolve.
