KinderCare Education negligence and overpopulated infant room

I was notified by that my 3 month old son was scratched by an older child. I picked him up and found deep scratches all over the left side of his face. The story I was told was that it was a split second incident. However, the scratches look like perhaps my son was left unattended for a while. Question: Why was my 3 month old left on a matt unattended with older babies walking and crawling around? Common sense would dictate that it isn't a good idea and this is the result. Plus, I've noticed that several kids are lumped into the same classroom. How can one daycare worker watch 10 babies? Half crawling/walking over a year old and the rest infants left lying around waiting to get trampled on. I'm torn, I like the main daycare worker in the infant room, however, I find the rest of the staff to be rude and fake. Putting so many babies in this lady's Care is unfair and probably a scheme for kinder Care to make more money! I don't recommend this place to anyone. Sacrificing the welfare of children for profit is wrong and I'm not going to enable that behavior by doing business with this company!

KinderCare Education child care/ employee professionalism

The reasons for my complaint have been ongoing since 06/2016, KinderCare staff have repeatedly refused to provide me with my children's information even though it is clearly their policy to do so upon request. Some of the staff blatantly display favoritism since my ex wife is the one who requires the service and I simply pick up my children during my parenting time. Not only does my ex wife brag about how she gossips with the employees about my personal life in negative terms in front of my children, she also has the employees babysit our children overnight during her parenting time which is discouraged by KinderCare as a company. KinderCare allowed my ex wife to cross off my girlfriends name from their sign in log and replace it with mine for over a month because she doesn't like my girlfriend. When I asked the KinderCare director to stop letting my ex violate the rules for filling out a 'legal document, ' I was asked to either fill it out the full month in advance for our four children with my name or not have my girlfriend drop off my children even though my ex is the one violating the policy and I am not. After speaking with my ex once I refused to fill out the sheet in advance the director of KinderCare and my ex wife decided I should simply stop allowing my girlfriend to drop my children off completely even though there are no rules in regards to who drops children off in the KinderCare policy at all. I would like the current KinderCare director to start enforcing the actual policies KinderCare has and not simply cater to my ex wife because they are friends. It makes for a terrible environment because it feels like going to pick up the children from my ex-wife's friends instead of a neutral third party whose job it is to be professional and impartial.

KinderCare Education lack of care for parents/kids/violence/lies

I had my oldest go to the same Kindercare my noe youngest did attend. My oldest graduated on t Kindergarten. My youngest was doing good until she went to the present k room. There are not enough teachers per room per a certain amount of kids. Many wonderful people left. The turn over is way, way too high. People aren't paid enough, directors can't direct the daycare at all. They allow extremely violent kids to remain within their daycares and make a mountain out of a mile hill for petty things. They outrite lie and will falesly call CPS on you and smile in your face while your children are being interviewed without you knowing behind your back. Do not enroll your kids at a Kindercare! Run the other way and do not go here! My child ALWAYS has cuts, scratches, bruises and a permanent mark on her face because they can't control the kids in the class. They make me sick.

KinderCare Education unprofessional, uncaring staff and terrible environment for developing minds

My children attend Northside Kindercare in Madison WI. I've been sending my children there for almost a year and the services my children recieve are terrible anymore. In all honest, Teachers started out great, but as time has gone on, I've seen nothing, but degradation of attitude and discipline. In short, Not learning a dang thing of true educational value, but how to be city-hood brats.
I'm pulling my children out in the next week and want to throw out for anyone caring thats incharge of how ethical and professional Kindercare Staff are, that STOP just running and business and treat these children like something more than a paycheck.
I had specific prinicples I sent my kids to school under. Spoke and coordinated with their teachers, provide the materials I wanted my children to use and they specifically disregard them. I walked in one day, to simply return something to my daughter left when we arrived, so she'd have it for the day, and her instructor jumped and grabbed the bowl she was supposed to be eating out of and dumped her food into it. It's all "their way, or the highway" with instructors at this facility. This same inccident has occured 4 more times since the begining, which drives me crazy, because it pushes my understanding nature past the brink, and I'm now done. Clearly implies they don't care about my wishes as a parent, so why would I trust them with my children? I mean when my oldest started, she brough home projects, now she comes home saying she learned nothing. Polar opposite then it started out.
My youngest daughter also attends school here and they have clearly the most uneducated person in with her. I've spoken to her like an adult about my concerns about using room fragerences around the children after I walked in, after dropping my oldest off, to say good bye, and the instructor was hosing the room down with Areoles. Since clearly not ever reading a published medical work about how these things work, I decided to inform her that they were very unhealthly for anyone, espically babies, because they have to breath much faster, and work by coating the inside of the nosal passages with an oily flims to prevent the receptors from deteching the oders. She told me to speak with the Dicrector because she shouldn't have to smell stinking diapers all day. For heaven sake, you work with infants! It's a given they poop and you have to deal with it. I've gotten nothing, but complaints from her instuctors since she's started, because they can't respect my wishes and I won't budge on the well being of my children and I know what's best for them. I have over 16 years of Higher Education in biology(with degrees to match) and a resume, putting all my acheivements, degrees, and vocational expericence on, is 12 pages long, to prove I should know something about how the human body works, and what science currently understands to our benifits for helathly lifestyle choices. ----Clearly things change, but we know what we know and as the parent, they should respect our logic, when they know nothing better.
One of the assisting directors actually told a staff member that I'm good friends with that " she is "here" and I'm "HERE!", when she complained about instructors neglecting her child and leaving her to cry for an hour and not comforting her.
I seen teacher here watch toddlers fall and they don't even blink an eye. Just tells them they're fine.
My daughers actually developed terrible habits because of a lack of order with the older children. Having to dodge flying toys everything, literally, as Ipick my children up at the end of the day and children just out of control, there are no words. Literally implies these "teachers" are there to just earn a paycheck and give two you know what's less. Best wishes to anyone who trys a Kindercare. They may say they offer World-Class Early Childhood Education, but if they would ever have good people teaching it, maybe it would mean something. Not at Northside, I guess.

These incidents occurred between Feb 9 - Feb 13 2017. Although I contacted head office they didn't care to look into the matter further. I worked at Kindercare for about a week and in that short time I saw children pulled by the shirt, shoulders squeezed, the director intimidating, shaming and humiliating the children with her words. She yelled at them...

KinderCare Education alex graeve saul, supervisor, northgate kindercare, seattle wa

Kindercare Cooperate:

Here is a forwarded message from myself to my attorney, Barbara Jo Sylvester, Tacoma, WA:

Rod D.

3:18 PM (1 hour ago)

to Barbara, Alexandra, All18Pars72, Jennifer, Katie
Barbara Jo,

Today, my sister and I were in N. Seattle. I emailed Katie several days ago asking if I could pick up Loren at Northgate Kindercare around noon since we were in the area and my residential time begins today--normally at 6p.m. Katie agreed and said she would let Kindercare know.

I signed in at 12p.m. on the Parent Sign In/Pick Up Sheet, and noticed there was no one in the manager's office. I went to Loren's classroom door and knocked on the door. Loren noticed me. One of his teachers noticed me waiting at the closed door and I could hear her tell Alex, the center supervisor, "Loren's dad is here." Then Alex replied, "I know. He's not supposed to be here or visit. I'm just going to ignore him." The teacher again reported to Alex that Loren's dad was here, and Alex repeated, "I know. I'm just going to ignore him."

Alex then came up to the door and opened it and I asked her, "Did you just say, Loren's dad is here and I'm just going to ignore him?" And she replied, "Did you get permission to visit Loren?" I asked her to please answer my question. She then restated her question, not answering mine. I replied, "Yes, I'm here to pick him up." I then asked her again to answer my question. Her reply was, "I'm not going to answer your question. That is ridiculous." Rava, the teacher, saw and heard the exchange from beginning to end. Loren was screaming, "I want my Daddy. I want to see my Daddy! I want to go home with my Daddy!"

Alex then went into her office, obviously calling Katie and got a hold of someone. She then came out of her office, and said it was okay to take him.

I then went into Loren's classroom to pick up Loren and help him get his things and as we were leaving, Rava stopped me and said, "I'm sorry. I couldn't open the door. My supervisor wouldn't let me." I replied, "That's okay."

The way I was treated today by Alexandra Saul Graeve, Northgate Kindercare's Director, was incomprehensibly rude and disrespectful, and Loren was the witness to another drama filled situation in which he also became a victim. He reacted crying and screaming. All the other children heard and witnessed the event.

I am forwarding Katie's email below dated Wednesday, August 24, 2016, in which Katie states, ..."especially because communications between Loren's caregivers is supposed to be joint." Does Katie actually believes that EACH and EVERY face to face communication between Loren's caregivers and/or teachers and myself AND herself are supposed to be documented and copies sent?Or does she believe that this ruling was only intended for MY communications between Loren's teachers and daycare providers, not hers? I believe Mr. Turner's ruling on this issue was intended for BOTH parents, though I have doubts Katie has followed this order as I have no documented conversations or emails between Katie and Loren's teachers/supervisors. I ask that Mr. Turner clarify this ruling for us both as there seems to be great confusion. I cannot imagine Mr. Turner intended for all verbal exchanges at Loren's school and daycare to be documented by both parents, Preschool through grade 12, so Katie's interpretation may need to be clarified. I may also note, Katie compares visiting my home to a Preschool/Daycare---vastly different, no comparison.

Though I realize, there would have been no issue in me picking up my son today had Katie sent an email to Kindercare and cc'd me, what happened today was wrong, extremely offensive, and very emotional for Loren.

Clearly, the message Katie has made to the management and employees at Kindercare is "Loren's dad is not supposed to visit Loren." Where in our Parenting Plan does it state I cannot observe my child's learning/daycare without her authorization? My question is, without a court order, can Kindercare prohibit a parent from observing his or her child with proper sign in?

Regardless of where we decide on January 25th where Loren attends Preschool in the near future, I wish to also discuss this section of our Parenting Plan with Mr. Turner on January 25th, so today's horrible incident is never repeated again.

Though I already know, Katie's response to this email will be..."Rodney, you are just creating conflict, " I repeat, NO parent should ever be treated that way I was treated at Northgate Kindercare today and no child should be a witness to the event which happened today.

As we left, Ms. Saul, said, "Bye LoLo."

Thank you,
Rod Dupille

Kindercare Corporate: If I have forwarded this message to the incorrect management team for Wa---North Seattle, please direct me of the correct email address. This incident happened today, 1/13/17.
Thank you, Rod Dupille

KinderCare Education management/supervisor

I am writing on behalf of a family member that has been a faithful employee of your company for over ten years now. For her employment safety-I will not list her name. Recently she has learned that she is expecting a new addition to our family in a few short months. However, she afraid for her employment as well as the safety of her child. She as well as other employees (A few who are with child as well) are constantly being verbally abused by their supervisor as well as OVER worked with 12 hour shifts! How can they be at their best to provide/drive teach our kids of tomorrow when they are fatigued due to inconsistent hours. I am inquiring to what is your legal time frame allotted for employees to work within a day's time? Also, how long is a "break" considered a "break"- the supervisor will ask the ladies to come in for 6AM and take a 2/4 hour "break" and will work until close of business for that day. Being told "if you don't like the orders I give you-QUIT; I just don't understand that type of leadership. I can be reached at mrs.[protected]@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance. Please understand the ladies are so intimidated by their supervisor that even the assistant manager's suggestions are consistently being dismissed with no regards of change. Thank you in advance for immediate attention in the matter.
Sincerely,
A concerned constituent of the learning community

KinderCare Education employment

I am a former employee of kindercare and I had an awful experience. After only a week my hours had already been cut without my knowledge and approval after being promised at enployment a full time position of 8 hours a day. The only change in time I was told about was me having to work overtime some days. After my first week I became sick with the flu and when I called in sick I got a rude response from my director about how she now needed to figure things out because I was not reliable even though I was sick. Along with this the way they treated the children appalled me. The teacher would grab the children's arms and rip them towards the floor or themselves when they misbehaved and screamed and yelled to get the children's attention. The teacher I worked with would mimic and make fun of the children in the preschool room and threaten to call parents just to make the children cry. There were multiple teachers there that used their phones and did not care along with bringing coffee into the rooms with children in the knowledge of the director and nothing was done. The children were forced to sleep even if they did not want to and I was told not to give them a quite activity if they did not want to sleep which went against what I learned in training. I was also never given directions on how to finish my training. Since then I received an offer to be a sub within a district and I had to accept due to the opportunity of a future teaching position, due to this I was unable to give notice because i had to start immediately. Since then my new employer has sent the act 168 to my kindercare employer and I received an email saying they will be waiting till the last moment to fill out this document so that I am unable to work due to the lack of notice. I realize it was not the best situation for the center, but I also believe it is not right for a company to wait to fill out government paperwork due to this. Overall, I am disappointed in my experience with this employer. I do not plan to recommend this job to anyone or this term of childcare to anyone either.

I have two daughter's that go to this facility. My husband is in the Air Force and after being recently deployed I decided to move in with my parents in Ashburn, VA with my two and a half year old son. Had our daughter there for 2 years. Some teachers are good especially in the toddler area. Once they get older the "teachers" are too young and inexperienced. They do not provide protection for your kid. I literally witnessed a big kid run over to my daughter when she was less than 2 and shoved her unto the ground. I stepped in and asked WTH is this?
