Yesterday (12/14/23), we had an oil change done at the Kwik Kar @ 1820 Brown Blvd., Arlington, TX 76006 (Invoice #5603096).
We (Future Leaders Outreach Network) are Exempt from TX State Tax; however, we did have our Tax Exemption Certificate with us when the Oil Change was performed, so TX State Tax was charged.
Today...I went to the Kwik Kar with our TX Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate a copy of the invoice, and the Card we used to pay for the service.
I asked the lady at the counter to put the State Tax charges ($6.84) back on the Card we used to pay for the service. The lady said she had to call the owner and proceeded to call someone from her cell phone. The person on the phone told her to tell me "There is no way to put the charges back on the card", which she did.
I know that is not the truth (which I told the lady)...if there is an erroneous service performed etc., there has to be a way to do a refund!
After that...the lady spoke to the person on the phone again, then told me "The person that does that is on vacation and won't be back till Monday". The lady asked for my number so this "mystery person" can call me. I asked for this mystery person's number so I can contact him/her, the lady would not give it to me.
I am very insulted that I was lied to in this manner...and even more insulted that they pretended that something as simple as a Refund is so complicated.
I have been taking my personal car to Kwik Kar for years; however, if this situation is not resolved quickly and satisfactorily, I will be taking my company's business and my personal business elsewhere!
