A month ago I decided to invest in a water softening and filtration system. I am on city water which is generally considered to be clean. However I have had persistent problems over the last 10 years I have lived in my home, which was built in 2006. The problems included an unpleasant taste, calcium deposits along with a black slime (manganese bacteria) on my fixtures and appliances. I decided to call the Leaf Home Water Solutions team to perform an analysis of my water as well as take a look at the problems I was having. The decision was simple for me. I wanted reduce these problems significantly by having them install a whole home water treatment system. This was accomplished by having their team install a water softener, catalytic carbon filter and UV water disinfection system. Within one week I could tell that the water tasted better. After installation I cleaned all my fixtures including shower and glass doors. No longer do I have calcium deposits anywhere. They are completely gone. The black slime is also not present. I also noticed some other benefits I was pleased to experience. You use less soap! It only takes one-half the amount I used to use to clean myself, the dishes, laundry, etc. I also dont feel like I am still wet after toweling off after taking a shower. I actually feel dry. This is a decision I highly recommend making if you have water problems, or simply have them test your water even if you dont suspect you have any issues.

Leaf had earned my loyalty with their gutter guard product so when we needed a water solution this set them apart from the others. Their sales representative was amazing. But once install time came the team changed. They did not show up with the tools and materials needed nor did they understand the install scope that was agreed to with their sales resources. I called Leaf Home Water but was never allowed to talk to anyone in the install and service department. Long story short, after they made several trips to *** the install was complete, but I was not given anything to confirm or substantiate that the system was working, this was the last, "I don't have that piece of test equipment with me today" associated with the install. A week or a bit later their sales rep came back with the proper test equipment.It is too early to tell if this system will help with hard water scale which is why we purchased it.I will tell you this, they said salt would last a family of 2 for a few months. At 4 weeks I checked the salt container, and it was empty. Did the install team not fill it properly (salt was one of their trips to ***? Or is there something wrong with the system and it is using too much salt? If it was out of salt, what does it do? Why isn't there an alarm, a beep, a light, or some feature to let the owner know it needs salt.I'm a bit frustrated with myself, this was not one of my better purchases. In the end and if I exclude their sales resource (he rocked) this was a very "average" experience.

These people do not know what they're doing when it comes to installation
These people do not know what they're doing when it comes to installation. We had the outside unit installed. The same tech came out twice because each time he didn't have the right part...he was hours late getting to our house and when he got here, kept going back and forth to the store for parts...That was supposedly their best plumber...end result was they had to send a 3rd tech come out to say their "best plumber" stripped the part. He too didn't have parts with him to complete the job. By the way, the "best plumber" had asked me for the rest of the money to pay for the job even though the job was not done...He said "I promise we won't ghost you." Of course I told him nothing would be paid until the job was done and reported it to his manager...they transferred him to ***...simply moved a probelm. Also we have issues with our water turning cold while other appliances are on which we never had before they came out. During the 2-3 months all of this is going on, they continue to call my husband to make payments on the part we financed. Each time he had to reexplain that we did yet have the full system installed so could not pay for something we did not have. The *** of *** is horrible. I can only imagine how we will be treated when there are other issues. Why on earth would you send techs 2 hours away to a site without the parts needed to do their job? Why wouldn't the sales rep measure the counter tops for thickness and take pictures to ensure the techs had the right parts to do the work? Makes zero sense. Would not recommend. There are plenty of other water filterations companies out there. Go with them. Leave is not ready. The *** team are completey incompetent.

We relocated last year and really missed our high-quality water softener. I always get 3 estimates and contacted 3 companies through Complaintsboard.com. Leaf Home was prompt to call and set up a water test appointment. The city had informed us about our water quality, yet we sought a softener due to hardness. A professional visited the next day for testing, confirming the city's findings. He explained the company's direct employment policy, emphasizing no intermediaries. Upon requesting the estimate in writing, he offered a 20% discount, valid for only two days due to month-end, which puzzled me. I obtained two more estimates quickly by mentioning my existing quote. Ultimately, I chose Leaf Home for their 7-year warranty, despite being slightly pricier. However, post-installation, I encountered issues: the installer was a subcontractor unaware of warranty details, only one bag of salt was provided instead of a full container, and no salt delivery service was offered. Despite these setbacks, the installed system performs well, and my showers have improved.

Caution Advised: My Unfortunate Experience with a Dishonest Company
Caution Advised: I usually leave positive reviews but cannot let this atrocious experience with a dishonest company go unheard. So, here goes my first one-star review. We had this company come to our home to quote us on a whole home water softener system with a Reverse Osmosis setup on Veterans Day along with 2 other companies. Disclaimer, I am a 2 x Iraqi war veteran and spent almost 11 years in the service before leaving with an honorable discharge. I had a whole home water softener system in our previous home that we sold and am familiar with more than an average person. After the hour-long pitch we received from Leaf Home Water Solutions, they quoted us nearly $10k AFTER discounts ON VETERANS DAY no less. After expressing our displeasure in their process, they brought it down to $7k, then $5300, then $4925. It's disheartening to think how many people they may have overcharged. Fortunately, we did our research and found an amazing company out of Salado with exceptional customer service and reviews that offered us their system for a fraction of the cost. After voicing my displeasure and requesting to cancel, I was contacted by the Operations manager from the Austin branch, Andre, a day later. I understand Andre was trying to salvage the deal to prevent this review, but the interaction was appalling. This place needs urgent training. He showed no remorse and did not acknowledge the excessive markup offered for a whole home system to a disabled war veteran. Andre also attempted to blame his salesman Jeff, which was highly inappropriate. I am at a loss to understand their sales tactics and how they reconcile their actions at night. The best part of this jaw-dropping experience was finding a trustworthy company to do business with.

Leaf's water system pricing tactics and subsequent issues with yellow water
We had Leaf at our home on 11/2/22 to test our water. Initially, they quoted a high price for their system. Upon our refusal, they reduced the price multiple times. Despite the discounts, we experienced yellow water after installation. Despite having a functional Culligan system before, which required less frequent filter changes, we now face frequent yellow water and increased maintenance. We've had multiple service calls and adjustments to the backflush schedule, yet the problem persists. We've been told to wait for the sediment to clear, but the issue has continued for months. Our last interaction with service ended with them claiming our warranty was void due to a cistern, which we don't have; we have a well. Efforts to escalate the issue have been met with generic responses, and the company has not been helpful in resolving the situation or refunding our money.
