This company is aware of the "ice dam" problems. Never had this problem in the 26 years in my home. Had Leaf Guard installed prior to last winter, now I get 4-6 ft icicles over my front steps when it snows. They drip aduring the day and refreeze on our front steps overnight. Paul has come out once to look and suggested installing a heater at his cost, that was last winter. Now after numerous unreturned phone calls and texts, no contact from him at all. Still left with same problem. After this winter I will probably change the gutters back to the original icicle free system, at my expense. Stay away from this system.

I agree...when we bought our home 3y/a we knew we'd need a new roof in another 5yrs or so, but last winter the ice raised up the roofing and water was literally flowing into the bedroom because the leafguard was causing huge ice buildup around the gutters, and 4-6ft icicles as well, which became a hazzard when entering/ leaving the house. We replaced our roof over the summer and added more iceguard than the building code required, and now, amidst a very snowy/ icy winter...the problem persists. It is because of the leafguard, not the roof.. Spend wisely and do what my brother in snowy Connecticut did...remove leafguard and put oversized open gutters/ downspouts on you roof...esp the North side. I would rather have to flush gutters than to have water flowing into my bedrooms in the winter when there is no access to the area to free it of ice. Fed up in NY

I also have the same problem and more. I had Leafguard Gutters installed (aka Window Wizards) 3 years ago. The drips from rain, and melting icicles, have worn away my brick front steps. I have large icicles all around my house to the point where you can't park your car in the driveway without the risk of one falling on you. They were way overpriced and I was a sucker. The upside; the birds love me in the Spring. Leafguard gutters make the best place to build birds nests! I must have hundreds of birds returning to my gutters every year. Window Wizards came out once to remove the nests and left in a matter of minutes. When I called they said they had removed them all. They didn't. Don't fall for their scam!

We have the same problem with icicles on the hood of the leafguard gutter and extending down the front of the gutter. Some of the icicles are 3’ in length. I called leafguard to complain and they sent me out a packet of information explaining that the icicles are forming due to heat escaping through the gutter line, and we can install heat wires inside the gutters to keep the metal warm and in turn eliminate the icicle formation. Never during the salesman’s presentation did he explain this problem. We’ve lived in this house for 18 years and have never had icicles forming from the gutters before installing leafguard. I would not recommend this gutter system to anyone.

I'm having the same problems. I had Leaf Guard install their gutters two years ago and ever since have had the problem of icicles hanging of the edge. Last year, I had water coming in through the living room ceiling. When I called Leaf Guard, they sent me literature on ice dams. I've never had this problem in all the 20+ years I owned my home. Very disappointed. They may be fine for southern states but not the Midwest or northern states.

Our problem is the same, we had the LeafGuard Gutters installed in June, 2012. We have gone through the winter snows with hanging icicles and built up ice atop the gutters. It is extremely dangerous when the weather warms slightly. We have had near misses with our pets and ourselves when the huge icicles fall and large chunks of ice slide off the gutters. WE DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH OUR OLD GUTTERS. thus I wonder how it can suddenly be attributed to faulty insulation.
We now have a constant drip of water on our porch and walkway creating dangerous ice rinks. I am adding photos of the Ice Mess LeafGuard gutters. We did not capture the worst of the ice with our photos. These are a few photos taken after most of the icicles fell and the slide off of ice occurred on the sunnier back yard. The Ice remains atop the gutters and continues to drip and refreeze.
Our sales rep did not once mention or question the quality of our insulation or that there could be a problem in winter. He only focused on how "good" the gutters are and what a great buy we were getting. When I reported the problem to the rep he had a ready answer that we have faulty roof insulation, without even visually inspecting the gutters. Also very disappointed and have made a bad investment.

I live in Massachusetts. I can't help but notice how long people have been complaining about this company and yet the company is still cheating people and nothing is being done about it.
I have had problems with Leaf Guard since I purchased them. The hood of the gutters get four or five inches of ice on them, the gutters themselves get full of ice, the combination of the two causes extremely long thick icicles all around my house. .At the front entrance to my home the melting and refreezing of the icicles has destroyed my cement steps. The ice dams get extremely thick and caused leakage into my cellar, my bathroom and den closet. The leaf guard gutters do not keep out pine needles, The company does claim that they do, I specifically asked about pine needles. I have pine trees on my property. Then we are not safe in the warm months, When it rains the rain collect on the top hood and the wind blows the water all over the windows. It takes forever for the down spouts to drain when it rains because the gutters are full of pine needles. Watching TV today - The same man was hawking about how great the gutters are. When will there be a class action law suit? I will be the first one to sign up as will any one that has endured the costly mess these gutters have caused and of course lives where the snow flies.

We purchased Englert Leafguard gutters in fall of 2015. We did not have too much snow that winter but the little snow we had forced water behind the gutters so we called about this and service guy how came out said he would contact this boss. We never heard another word from the company. Water behind the gutters is not the worst part. When the curved face of the gutter gets dirty which it it does after just a few rains I have to climb up there and wash the front of gutters to keep water from running over front to the ground. In short when the dirt from the roof gets on the curved part of the gutters they no longer work. Remember the stuff you used to clean out of the gutters is now on the outside front of your gutters. I will never trust the Goodhouse Keeping seal again. Class action suit against Leafguard?

We had our leaf guard installed in late 2012 or early 2013. The problem that we have had is that our house has settled which has made the rain water run over the outside of the gutter and hit the side of our home. The leaf guard workers are the ones that told us that our house had settled. They said that they were going to have to install another down spout. The first day that they were suppose to come out was Monday and they were not able to do that per phone call that I received. They came out the next day. When the worker got here he asked me if I wanted part of the down spout or a black tube to lead away from the house. I explained that I would like part of the down spout. I also asked if he could leave the black tube in case my husband didn't like the down spout leading from the house. He said that he would have to talk to his boss. He then chose to put the black tube leading away from the house. I told him that I didn't like that and he said that he would not cut another piece of down spout because he could not do that but that is what he offered when he got here. Talked to his boss and he was no help at all. I will not ever recommend leaf guard to anyone and if I hear of anyone talking about using them I going to suggest that they do not!

Just had the Leaf Guard installed last month, Horribly unacceptable installation and no one from the company would do anything to fix the installation issues! Poor Customer Service, especially for the price it cost!
