LegalZoom.com review: Registered agent with compliance scam

01/13/2024 and 01/13/2025 our credit card was charged $299.00 each date, for a total of $598. The charges came with no notice. We closed our company in 2022. And we filed the necessary paperwork with the state to do so. When we saw the charges on our personal credit card statement, we logged into our account. There is no way to cancel your account without reaching out to customer service. In 2024, we called the support number and were assured that our account would would be closed and that the refund was under review. We never received a refund for 2024. This year I reached out with the chat box on the LegalZoom website. I was astounded to learn that there are no refunds after 30 days from the initial opening of your account with LegalZoom. We, unfortunately opened our account in 2021. I chatted on with a customer service representative with legal zoom this evening. This is what he told me:
1. “I will be canceling all of your subscriptions on LegalZoom so you won’t get charged for anything in the future.” (This is the same thing we were told in January 2024.)
2. “However, I am not able to reverse the charge due to refund policy.” (I asked for contact info for getting a refund.) Hisvreoly:
“Refund is a process that is done during the cancellation, if I cancel the subscription now you will not be able to ask for a refund anymore. I can provide you our hotline which is 800-773-0888. So I let him know I’d call the hotline instead.
3. He responded: “ apologies for the inconvenience, but the process is actually the same that chat or call.” My reply: So no one can get us a refund? He responded: “We are not able to provide a refund due to refund policy. It’s already way beyond 30 days” (Meaning 30 days since we first signed up for this scam in 2021.)
