A Personal Take on Lulu Press, Inc
As someone who has been self-publishing through Lulu since 2008, I must say it's been a journey filled with positive experiences. The support forum has always been my go-to for help, the quality of the books has never disappointed me, and timely payments have been a consistent feature. While I haven't explored other self-publishing platforms, I can confidently say that my satisfaction with Lulu Press remains high. There was one instance where I received the wrong book, but Lulu promptly rectified the error, showcasing their commitment to customer satisfaction. Overall, my relationship with Lulu Press has been a fruitful and rewarding one, making it a reliable choice for aspiring authors and self-publishers.
I have published several paperback books through this company and I am extremely happy with the outcome
I have published several paperback books through this company and I am extremely happy with the outcome. As an author, there is a significant amount of work for me to complete, but it guarantees that my books are produced according to my preferences. The printing cost is reasonable and within my budget. Once I publish the books in the bookstore, they become accessible on various online bookstores, including ComplaintsBoard.com and other local platforms. Additionally, I retain full ownership of all my books.
I sold a book entitled 'Untitled' that I have published on lulu through Amazon channels and a positive review by the reader has been posted on Amazon by the reader months and months ago. Yet I have not even seen a record of the sale on my revenue page on the Lulu.com website. I saw online that rumor has it that unless a book is bought directly from the lulu website, authors are not being awarded their revenue at all. And if this proves to be true, it means a lot of work for me to retire my books and move them directly to Amazon's KDP. Lulu, my name is John Doe and I want you to know that I work hard on my books and deserve my revenue no matter how little it is.
In setting up my epub for global distribution, I received a false error message of non-English words in my metadata. I need to find one. A month of trying to contact Lulu has been useless. I have published with Lulu 16 years, with no real problem before April 25, 2020.
we received an EMPTY box and the seller is saying it's up to Lulu Press to reship or reimburse. Nothing has been done since we filed a claim 2 weeks ago
I recently made an order for 45 copies of a book together with Lulu
I recently made an order for 45 copies of a book together with Lulu. While the order came in ahead of schedule (for which I am grateful), 15 of the books in the order were bound and printed with various defects and errors. While the margins and alignments are near perfect for 30 of the books, 15 were printed with a visible margin at the top edge and a seriously misaligned bound edge with text spilling over onto the back cover. I can understand how difficult things are considering everything going on right now, but none of my help queries have been responded to or even acknowledged by Lulu. I have been generally pleased with the level of service on their end thus far, but it is super frustrating to receive so many defective copies after I very carefully formatted my files based on their directions and templates and even a test copy I ordered months prior. With 2/3 of the order being dead-on perfect, I'm hoping we can come to some sort of an arrangement to resolve the issue. I've reached out to their team through the support queue weeks ago and still haven't heard back. As a recent graduate, the cost of the order was not something I took on lightly. My hope is that we can get the fifteen books reprinted or part of the order refunded if that's any easier at this time.
Lulu did help me to publish my ebook. However, they have not managed to send royalty checks successfully to my address although they claim to be sending them. I have not received royalty checks due in May or in August. My address is legitimate and I see no reason why they can't manage to process a check, put a stamp on an envelopes and send it to me. I hope they are not embezzling funds from customers.
I have been a self published author with Lulu since 2008. They recently underwent a revamp and all of a sudden I can no longer login AT ALL.This has been going on since April of 2020 and there is absolutely NO VALIDEXCUSE for it. No matter how many timesI try to reset my password I never receive instructions on how to do it at all. Now I cannot so much as retrieve or even edit MY OWN WORK! I don't know if they are trying to pass MY work off as someone else's and are selling my books under an assumed name and profitting from them themselves or what. Something definitely IS NOT RIGHT. The owner is a smug jerk who has always had something rude and backhanded to say whenever I have sought him for any kind of help using the site in the past. He better be very careful messing with MY work before he ends up catching himself a case! I HATE Lulu with a passion! Shadiest publishing site ever. God did not give me a writing gift to be [censored]d out and sold on the black market by some big publishing giant who is too ego driven to give another person credit for their own work.
I ordered a book from LuLu July 3rd, 2020, it's now the end of October and I have not yet gotten it. I have the conformation number and I have contacted them twice via email with no response. I'm highly disappointment and frustrated. This book was a teaching book that was being used in a group. Unfortunately, I had to share a book with someone in the class and I was not able to do any of lessons at home. I contacted the author and told he should perhaps consider switching publishers.

Review of Lulu's Self-Publishing Services: Good Quality Paperbacks, Mixed Results with Photobooks, Great Customer Service
I've used Lulu quite a few times now and I gotta say, their regular paperback books are pretty good quality. I wouldn't recommend their photobooks though, they don't come out too great. I haven't tried any of their fancy books or extra services, so I can't speak on that. But I have had a couple of issues with my orders. One time, the book quality wasn't up to par and another time, my package got lost in the mail. But the good news is, Lulu replaced both of those orders for me without any hassle. So overall, I'm pretty happy with their customer service and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking to self-publish.
Lulu Press Review: Cover Page Covered with Advertisements
I recently ordered some Sumerian-English dictionaries from Lulu Press (lulu.com). When my package arrived, I was excited to finally have my hands on these books. However, when I opened the box, I was surprised to see that the cover page of my books had been covered up with an advertisement for Aramaic-English dictionaries. At first, I thought that this was the product I had received, and I was disappointed that I had not received what I had ordered.
After taking a closer look, I realized that the books inside were actually the Sumerian-English dictionaries that I had ordered. However, I was still frustrated that the company had covered up the cover page with an advertisement, as it made it difficult for me to immediately see that I had received the correct product.
I reached out to Lulu Press to provide them with feedback about my experience. While I appreciate that they offer a wide range of books and products, I think it's important for them to ensure that their customers can easily identify the products they have received. I will eventually look at the back of the book to confirm that I have the correct product, but it would have been much easier if the cover page had not been covered up.
Overall, I think Lulu Press is a good company that offers a lot of great products. However, I would encourage them to consider how they package and ship their products to ensure that customers can easily identify what they have received. Despite this issue, I would still consider ordering from Lulu Press in the future, as they offer a wide range of books and products that are not always available elsewhere.
Reliable Self-Publishing with Lulu Press: A Review
Been using Lulu Press for self-publishing since 2008 and it's been a pretty good ride. The support forum is always there to lend a hand and I've always been paid on time, which is a big plus. The books themselves are of good quality, which is important when you're trying to make a good impression on readers.
I've ordered quite a few books from Lulu Press over the years, and there was only one time when I was sent the wrong book. But, I gotta say, Lulu Press was quick to replace it with the correct one as soon as I let them know about the mistake. So, kudos to them for that.
I haven't tried any other self-publishing companies or sites, so I can't really compare Lulu Press to them. But, based on my experience with Lulu Press, I'm pretty happy with what they offer.
Lulu.com: A Total Rip Off for Self-Publishing Needs - My Disappointing Experience
I recently decided to self publish my book with lulu.com, and I must say that I was quite disappointed with the service I received. I ordered a proof copy of my book to see how it would look printed, but unfortunately, I have been waiting for a month and a half now and still haven't received it. I have sent four emails to lulu.com, but I have not received any response from them. It's quite frustrating that they don't even have a phone number to call because they are a "web based company". I feel like they are totally unresponsive to their customers.
I didn't lose a lot of money in this situation, but the idea that somebody ripped me off has me quite upset. I would not recommend going with lulu.com for your self-publishing needs. A lot of people seem to be having similar issues, and their forums are filled with complaints. It seems like they are a total rip off!
I think it's important for companies to be responsive to their customers, especially when it comes to something as important as publishing a book. It's frustrating to feel like you're being ignored, and it's even worse when you feel like you've been ripped off. I hope that lulu.com can improve their customer service in the future so that others don't have to go through the same experience that I did.
Lulu Press Review: Terrible Experience, Switched to Amazon KDP and Saved Money
My experience with Lulu Press was not good at all. I paid a whopping $1999 for their services and my manuscript was stuck in "Step 1 - Content Evaluation" for over TWO months. I was getting really frustrated and was about to give up when I finally received a call from Eugene Hopkins. He told me that my book wasn't a good fit for Lulu Press and that I should look elsewhere. I was so angry and confused. I mean, why did they waste my time like that?
I decided to take Eugene's advice and look for other options. That's when I stumbled upon Amazon KDP. I was hesitant at first, but I decided to give it a try. And boy, was I surprised! I got the same job done in just a few days (less than a week) and I saved a lot of money too.
In my opinion, Lulu Press is a terrible company. They don't value their customers' time and money. I would never recommend them to anyone. If you're looking for a reliable and efficient self-publishing platform, go for Amazon KDP. Trust me, you won't regret it.
Disastrous Experience with Lulu: Wrong Covers Sent Out to Third Party Sellers
I gotta say, I used Lulu to get my book out there and it was a pretty long process. I had to keep updating it and making changes for months before it was finally approved for sale. But then, when I went to check it out on Amazon, I found out that some early version had already been sent out to other websites. What the heck, right?
The weird thing is that the inside of the book was fine, but the front and back covers were all messed up. They had the wrong subtitle, the wrong price, and the wrong pictures. I tried to get in touch with Lulu a bunch of times to get them to fix it, but it seems like they just don't care. The third party sellers are still using the old, messed up covers and people who buy the book are getting the wrong thing.
Honestly, it's been a total disaster. I put so much work into this book and now it's out there with the wrong covers. It's really frustrating and I don't know what to do about it. I wouldn't recommend using Lulu if you want to avoid this kind of headache.
Lulu.com Review: Professional, Easy, and Customer-Focused Self-Publishing
I gotta say, I've used lulu.com a bunch of times to order books and every time I do, I'm blown away by how good they look! The books come out looking super professional and beautiful. Self-publishing is a cinch with their website, which has a ton of helpful tools like a cover and calendar creator. They've got books in all sorts of sizes and styles, and the prices are totally reasonable.
One thing that really impressed me was how much the folks at Lulu.com care about their customers. When I had issues with the formatting of my hardcover book, they reached out to me with a new file that was all fixed up and ready to go. They even expedited my order when there was a problem with the printers, which was a huge relief since the book was a gift and I needed it in time for Christmas.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend lulu.com to anyone who's looking to self-publish their book online or create a really professional-looking book. They've done a great job and I'm really happy with the results!
Disappointed with Lulu Press: Slow Shipping and Wrong Version Sent
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Lulu Press. I was really excited to try them out for my book printing needs, but they just couldn't seem to get it together. I ordered a copy of my book from both Lulu and Blurb to compare the quality, and while I did like the quality of Lulu's book a little more, it took FOREVER to arrive. Blurb's book came in just a couple of weeks, but Lulu's never showed up. I waited a whole month before I finally contacted their support team.
Now, I will say that their support team was pretty quick to respond and they promised to send me another copy free of charge. But even that took over a month to arrive, and when it did, they sent me a black and white version for some reason. Like, what the heck? Blurb gets a point for being faster, and Lulu loses points for sending me the wrong version.
But I was willing to give them another chance. I really wanted to like Lulu, you know? So I ordered another book from them on February 15th. And guess what? It's now April 28th and I still haven't received it. I contacted them again and they supposedly sent another copy, but I'm not holding my breath.
It's just frustrating, you know? I really want to get my book up and running, but Lulu just can't seem to deliver (literally). I'm not sure if I'll be using them again in the future.
Lulu Press Review: A Great Option for Self-Publishing Your Book
I gotta say, I've used Lulu Press (lulu.com) to publish a couple of my books and I'm pretty happy with the results. Now, let me tell you, getting the book format and cover dimensions just right can be a real pain in the neck if you're doing it all by yourself. But let me tell you, it's worth the effort. Lulu's website has all the technical information you need to get it done, but I know that kind of stuff isn't everyone's cup of tea.
But let me tell you, once you get everything set up just right, the books come out looking great. I even had one book that needed the paging to be backwards, and Lulu handled it like a champ. I tried doing the same thing with Amazon's CreateSpace, but it was a no-go. Lulu really came through for me on that one.
Now, I haven't had to deal with their customer service yet, but I haven't had any problems with my orders either. The only thing I noticed was that three of the books in my order of 20 had slightly misaligned covers, so the spine text was a bit off. But hey, I get it. Those books were just over 100 pages, which is right on the edge of what Lulu considers acceptable for text on the spine.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with Lulu Press. If you're looking to self-publish your own book, I'd definitely recommend giving them a shot.
Lulu Press Review: Frustrating, Time-Consuming, and Confusing
Have you ever had a product that tells you to check the manual when there's an error or a feature that should be easy to access, only to find out that the manual is badly translated in French from German? Well, using Lulu Press (lulu.com) is like that, but worse. It's like the French version told you to go find the version of the manual that was translated into German from Japanese.
To create a product, you need to click on the page that has the product you want, whether it's a comic book, calendar, book, or something else. But then, you need to click on the icon to choose it again because the site thinks you're a [censored]. Once you've done that, you need to enter your file and get a message that it's the wrong DPI. So, you try again, only to get a vague message about ink. You check the FAQ, but find nothing. You use the search feature, but still find nothing. You ask the live chat for help, but they assume you have a completely different problem than what you describe in detail. They tell you it would be more helpful to ask your pet goldfish for help. You ask for an email for someone who knows about the issue, but you have to wait. Then, you find out they never told anyone to email you. Finally, you find out the problem, but then you encounter a new problem. You're told you're an idiot and that you should have spent two hours hunting down the answers like trying to find the [censored] child of Waldo and Carmen Sandiego. Then, you encounter a third problem, complain again, but get no help. You scream, throw your computer in a lake out of frustration, and go to a local print shop to get the product in a few days.
That's how to work Lulu Press's intuitive and easy site. It's frustrating, time-consuming, and confusing. But, if you're willing to put in the effort, you can eventually get what you need. Just be prepared for a lot of errors, spelling mistakes, and grammar issues along the way.

Disappointed with Lulu Press: Account and Orders Cancelled Without Warning
So, I was using Lulu Press (lulu.com) to print some books, and let me tell you, it was a real bummer when they cancelled my account and all my orders without any warning. I mean, come on, give a person a chance to fix the mistake, right? Apparently, there was some kind of problem with their user interface, but I didn't even know about it until it was too late. Now I'm left wondering if this is some kind of scam or something. I mean, why would they just cancel everything like that? It's not like I was trying to pull a fast one or anything. I just wanted to print some books, you know? Anyway, I'm pretty disappointed with the whole experience. I guess I'll have to find another printing service to use from now on.
