Denim ripped perfectly along a seam without any signs of other wear & tear
I am very disappointed with the customer service of Madewell. I bought my jeans over a year ago, and unfortunately, Madewell only looks at the 'calendar age' and not the physical age of a product. I provided photos of the jeans and there are no signs of wear and tear anywhere, while there is a perfect rip in the denim along a seam of one of the back pockets. To me, this is an indication that the product was flawed at the seam. I rotate these jeans among many others and I wash them minimally and always with cold water. This way my jeans last me about 10 years.
None of this matters to Madewell, which to me means they don't stand for their product. They lost my loyalty for sure.
Recommendation: Do not buy. Buy Everlane instead.
Madewell Review: Poor Customer Service for International Orders
So let me tell ya, I don't mind their threads (altho some of the tees I scooped up got holes after just 2 washes), but I ran into some probs when I tried to return some jeans (that I dropped over $100 on) that just weren't fitting right. And lemme tell ya, returning things as an international order can be a real pain. They only gave me email deets ([protected]@madewell - ya heard?) so I shot a few messages over there. And what did I get? Crickets, that's what. I tried hollering at them on a few different channels, but no one was catching my calls. And they're not givin' me an address to send it back to either. So now I'm stuck with these pants I don't even wear and no refund. Garbage, right? It's a shame too 'cause I've shopped around and honestly, their quality is pretty much on par with everyone else. They're just better at marketing it. But ya know what? I ain't giving them any more of my dough. There are plenty of places that treat their customers the way they ought to be treated. I tried to give 'em a piece of my mind on Facebook too, but they nixed the reviews (can't handle the truth?). Overall, I'd say this is a company that doesn't really care about its customers.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Madewell's Email List
So, I must start by telling y’all that I had some trouble with Madewell’s email list. I somehow got on the US list when I’m over here living in the EU. And, let me tell you, I got a whole lot of emails that were not for me. Offers and stuff that I couldn’t even use! So, I contacted customer service and they told me I was on the wrong list. Pretty simple fix, right? They even asked me my country of residence, which they should already know since I’ve ordered from them before. But, then they just didn’t do anything. Kept getting the same emails. I thought maybe they were backed up or something, so I waited a little while before contacting them again. Still no reply. So, I just unsubscribed for over a year.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I really do like Madewell’s clothes. They’re cute and stylish and just my vibe. So, I gave them another shot. And, yet again, I got the wrong emails. Same old stuff. And, still, no reply from customer service. So, I unsubscribed again. It’s just frustrating, ya know? I mean, it’s not the end of the world that I’m getting emails that I can’t use. It’s just annoying. But, what really gets me is that they aren’t even responding to my emails. Like, do they not care about their customers or what? It’s not a good look. And, honestly, it makes me not want to support a company that can’t even answer a simple email. I used to tell everyone about Madewell, but now I tell them to watch out. It’s hard to trust a company that doesn’t seem to care about its customers.
Madewell Insider Rewards Program Review: Disappointing Credit Policy for Recent Purchases
I just bought a lot of Madewell merch last week and it got delivered to me on Monday. I gotta say, I was really happy with the clothes I got. Like, I was super impressed and feeling pretty good about myself. So, I threw a couple more things in my cart - got some jeans and these badass leather boots - when I saw an ad for this insider reward thing. Idk about you, but I'm kinda skeptical about rewards programs - like, do they even do anything for me?
Anyway, I signed in and it told me that it recognized a purchase I made like eight months ago for a single item - but NOT the purchase I made last week that had like ten things in it. That seemed kinda like a BS to me, ya know? So, I was like, whatever, I'll just use the live chat feature and see what they can do.
The person on the chat was nice enough, I guess. They told me that they couldn't give me any credit for the things I just bought, even though it had only been three freaking days. I was like, seriously? That's pretty lame, y'all. I asked to talk to someone else about it, but they said it wouldn't make any difference. So, basically, not a great experience.
I was planning on dropping like $350 on some stuff today but, honestly, this kinda made me second guess if I wanna continue shopping with Madewell. I mean, why would I buy from a store that won't even give me any credit for stuff I just bought a few days ago? Like, that's just weak, man. I'll probably look for some other place to shop from now on.
Disappointing Experience with Madewell's Online Customer Service and Shipping Process
I was really excited to order some accessories from Madewell, especially since I could customize them to my liking. I placed my order about a week and a half ago, and since then, I haven't received any other updates other than "in progress" on my account. I anticipated that it would only take two weeks at the most, but unfortunately, when I contacted their customer service department, they didn't have any idea when my order would be completed.
Now, let me make one thing clear: my mom and I love Madewell. We've been shopping at their physical stores at least twice a week for the past three years, and not once have we had any complaints about their design or quality. However, my experience with their website has really lowered my expectations.
I understand that it's a big company, but I think they should really work on updating their online customer service. I was very disappointed with the response I got from the representative I spoke to. Instead of being helpful, he was kind of dismissive and told me to handle shipping address changes through UPS, stating that they weren't involved in that process at all. It was frustrating, and I didn't feel like he was respectful towards me.
Overall, I think some of the service details and the shipping process are inconvenient. I've now realized that while Madewell seems great on the outside, the inside of their company lacks in certain areas that a clothing brand should really be proficient in. I've spent hundreds of dollars every month shopping at Madewell in the past, but I don't think I want to return after this experience.
Madewell's Insider Credits Error: A Frustrating Experience .com Solutions Needed!
.com if anyone has a solution!
I have been a Madewell fan for quite some time, and I have to say, their clothes are absolutely amazing! However, I recently discovered an issue that's been bothering me for the past two years. I've been expecting Insider credits, but I didn't receive them and didn't know why. Turns out, the payment method associated with my account had an old work email that I didn't even realize was there.
This caused quite a headache for me because, as a result, I ended up buying the same item twice, even although I had already been charged for the first purchase. To make matters worse, they refused to transfer my credit from one account to another. I only have one account, and my personal email should be the default email, not my old work one!
I'm not sure why Madewell would do this; it doesn't make any sense! Nevertheless, I was told that this is the way it is, and I should not expect my Insider points. This is unacceptable, and something needs to be done about it. I hope that Madewell addresses this issue soon, as it's causing unnecessary stress for their loyal customers.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, I would appreciate any advice or solution. Please feel free to email me at ***@gmail.com. Overall, Madewell has great products, but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Madewell's customer service let me down - an honest mistake resulted in a frustrating experience and no solution in sight
I'm not gonna lie, I've spent a pretty penny at Madewell in my day, and I'm officially an Icon status member. So, picture me freaking out a little this morning when I accidentally charged the wrong credit card on my Applepay order. What's worse? I was trying to get overnight shipping (I know, I'm a diva). But alas, customer service wasn't yet open. So, like, what was I supposed to do?
So, I called the customer service line the second they opened, hoping for a cancel and reorder. But noooo, it was already too late as an Icon with overnight shipping (again, my own doing). Shocked (!), I tried to plead with the associate, let her know I made a super honest mistake. But instead, she just told me it couldn't be cancelled. On top of that, one of the items in the order was final sale so there'd be no returns allowed, even though it was a legit accident. She didn't really seem to care about my issue, so I asked for a supervisor.
But then...I was on hold. For what felt like forever. 15 whole minutes went by before I was finally connected with a supervisor named Rachel. Turns out, the order was already shipped via UPS, even though it had only been two hours (what's that about?!). So Rachel offered to put in a request for the package to be returned to sender. But at this point, I'm not super sure if it worked because well, it's still on its way to me through UPS.
Excuse my French, but that experience really left me with a not-so-great taste in my mouth. I'm thinking of not shopping at Madewell anymore. In fact, I'm gonna return my recent orders because frankly, I'm just over it. It's just not right. Even though they have some really awesome clothes and accessories, their policies can really screw over the little guy.
Disappointed with Madewell's Quality Control and Customer Service
I'm here to tell you about my experience with Madewell, a store I used to love. I've ordered jeans from them plenty of times. I guess I should have realized the problem with the last order when it took forever to arrive. The website said it would be delayed, but I figured it wouldn't take that long. Six months later, I finally got my jeans.
When I tried them on initially, everything seemed fine, but I didn't wear them since it was hot outside. Once fall rolled around, I finally put them on. At first glance, there weren't any issues. But after a closer inspection, it was clear that the jeans were defective. The way they were sewn was completely off. So, I reached out to Madewell to let them know about the problem.
I knew that the jeans were beyond the return window, but I wanted them to see that there was a clear issue with quality control. They responded to my email, saying that they understood the issue and that I might have other options. I gave them more information, thinking that maybe there was something they could do. Unfortunately, they ended up telling me that they couldn't do anything because the jeans were too far outside of their return policy.
It's frustrating that they led me on, giving me hope that maybe something could be done, when they had no intention of solving the problem. I really loved Madewell, but now I'm done with them. I'll be looking for a new place to buy my jeans from now on.
Madewell's Dishonest Mail Return Policy: My Experience and Warning
Madewell is a great store and I am a big fan of their products. They always have some awesome sales going on and I just can't resist to avail them. However, there is something that I want to share with you all. Their mail returns can be a bit dishonest sometimes.
If you return something within 30 days of the purchase date, they tell you that you will get a FULL refund which is awesome. But the story doesn't end here folks. When you submit for a free return shipping label, you're even told what date Madewell must receive your return by, in order to get a full refund.
So, I returned my purchase and tracked it online. I saw that Madewell had received it 5 days before the return cut-off. I was waiting for an email notifying me that they had received my return and were in the process of refunding my credit card. However, it took them TEN long days to notify me that they had *justreceived my return and were issuing me store credit instead of a full refund, with shipping taken out, because my return was past the 30-day cut-off.
I was upset and felt like I was cheated. So, I decided to call their customer service and told them that I should receive a full return to my credit card. They agreed that Madewell had made a mistake and said that I would receive a full refund to my credit card. The next day, I got an email showing that I was refunded for the shoes only, shipping was still taken out.
I had to call them back again and point out this error. The second customer service representative apologized for the mistake and agreed that it was their error. She separately refunded my return label charge.
In conclusion, I would say that if Madewell rips you off, they will take care of it IF you call their attention to it. But you have to stay on top of it. It's frustrating and dishonest. So, be careful while returning anything and call them if you face any problems.
Madewell's Broken Processes and High Prices are Major Turn-Offs
Madewell, oh boy, where do I begin? I have some strong feelings about this company, and not all of them are positive. Let's start with the prices, they are way too high for what you get. I mean, come on, there are so many other brands out there with better quality fashion items at more reasonable prices.
But that's not even the worst part. Madewell's processes are BROKEN. They claim to offer free shipping and returns for their Madewell insiders, but let me tell you, that's far from the truth. More times than not, they charge me $7.50 for using their supposed "free-return" label. When I reached out to customer service to ask about this, they told me that I had exceeded the 30-day return window.
Now, here's the kicker, nowhere on their website do they define what the 30-day return window is. So, I had to talk to customer service to get a clear answer. Apparently, their definition of 30 days is from the day they ship your item until the day they process your return. How does that make any sense? I'm not in control of how long it takes for shipping and processing to occur.
Let me give you an example. I ordered a shirt from Madewell on September 3rd, and it arrived at my house on September 14th. I shipped it back on September 17th, and Madewell processed the return on October 10th. According to their ridiculous policy, I didn't meet the 30-day return window, so they gave me a gift card instead of a refund. Are you kidding me?
I'm sorry, but Madewell has really turned me off. The fact that they have such a tight return window that's set up in a convoluted way that makes it not customer-friendly is just bad business. If you're thinking about buying from Madewell, I recommend going through Nordstrom instead. Nordstrom has a much better return policy and knows how to treat their customers properly. Madewell, get your act together.
Madewell's Exceptional Online Shopping and Customer Service: A Personal Experience
As a huge fan of Madewell, I am surprised to see all the negativity surrounding their customer service. Let me start off by saying that I have no connection to the company or its sister brands like J. Crew in any way. I have had a great experience shopping both in-store and online with Madewell.
Talking about online shopping, the site is super easy to use and everything is well-organized. The clothes are beautifully displayed and what you see online is what you get in real life. The fabric of their clothes is top-notch, and I love the fact that they stand the test of time. However, while some of their basic tees may shrink with wash, it has never been a big issue for me.
Moving on to online customer service, I have contacted them four times in the last three months for general problems, and each time they have been super helpful and friendly. Just last week, I made a purchase of two tops online, but accidentally gave my old university's PO box as the shipping address. Obviously, it was my fault and not theirs, but the Madewell customer service rep went above and beyond to help me out. When they found out that rerouting was not an option, the rep was gracious enough to help me find the same tops in my size online. When they found out that my size was out of stock, the rep even issued a full refund, and that was after spending a generous amount of time and effort trying to help me.
Overall, Madewell is a brand that stands by its customers. They take customer satisfaction seriously and it shows. Their loyalty to customers is reciprocated, and I, for one, am really grateful for that. Indeed, their name truly speaks for itself - Madewell!
Madewell Complaints 10
Unfortunate Experience with Madewell's Website and Customer Service
So I just made a purchase from Madewell's website. Everything was going great until I received an email saying that one of the items I ordered was out of stock. Now, I have to deal with the hassle of cancelling the order. And get this, when I called the customer service department, they couldn't cancel the order because they don't technically have control over the product. It's kind of frustrating that they sell it on their site, but can't do anything about it.
On top of that, my shipping and billing addresses somehow ended up wrong. I'm not even sure if I'll receive my order! Ugh, this experience has made me question whether or not I should buy from Madewell again. I'm worried that if I need to return an item, I won't be able to.
Overall, I'm feeling a little disappointed with Madewell. I just wish their website was a little more accurate about product availability and that their customer service department had more control over orders. But, hey, maybe I'm just having a rough day. We'll see how this all plays out.
Disappointed with Madewell's Returns Process: A Frustrating Experience
I've gotta say, I was really excited when my daughter gave me a sweater from Madewell as a gift. I mean, who wouldn't be, right? But sadly, the wool in the sweater was a bit too much for my sensitive skin to handle. No worries though, my daughter assured me that returning it would be a piece of cake. She gave me a customer number and I was able to print out a return label from their website.
So far, so good. But that's where the pleasant experience ended. It's been over a month since I sent that sweater back, and I still haven't received my refund. I've reached out to Madewell's customer service team several times, but every time I get a new person who asks me for the same information that's already in the chain of emails. It's incredibly frustrating!
I mean, come on Madewell, get your act together. Your customers are putting their trust in you when they buy your products. The least you can do is make the return process, which is already unpleasant enough as it is, as smooth as possible. I'm seriously disappointed in how poorly run your returns system is. You guys need to step up and take care of your customers. It's ridiculous that I have to waste my time like this!
My Disastrous Experience with Madewell: Wrong Shipping Address and Poor Customer Service
Ayo, lemme tell you about my experience with Madewell. I was so hyped for my order to come in, but when it did, it was a hot mess. They straight up put the wrong shipping address on it - like, how does FedEx even let that slide? I shoulda gotten it a month ago but now I'm sad cuz it's prolly lost in the mail. I hit up customer service n they were no help at all. THEY messed up my order, not me, but they acted like I was the one in the wrong. So now I'm outta $120 with no package in sight. And to top it all off, they had USPS return it to sender even tho FedEx was the original carrier. Like, what? Man, I'm never shopping at Madewell again. They not bout to play me like this.

Madewell Review: Outrageous Wait Time for Jeans - Don't Bother Ordering!
So, I bought a pair of jeans off Madewell and they told me it would take two whole months before they were shipped out. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but on the day that they should have been delivered, lo and behold, they weren't! I reached out to them to make sure everything was good and was told that they weren't sent and that I'd have to wait yet another month and a half. That's a total of over 3 months for a pair of jeans! I understand things happen, but come on now, this is ridiculous! If they don't have the product to send right away, it shouldn't be advertised as being available. The advertised wait time is already outrageous, but to add more time?! That's just not right. Save yourself the trouble and don't order from Madewell unless you want to wait forever.
Madewell's Return Policy is Misleading and Costly for International Shoppers
I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed with my recent order from Madewell. As someone all the way over in Australia, I was excited to finally snag some of their trendy threads, but things quickly went awry. First of all, they sent me the wrong item and some of the sizes were off - talk about a bummer.
So, of course I tried to return the items but was shocked to find out that the cost was going to be upwards of $50 to $70 AUD. Mind you, their fancy website clearly states that returns only cost $11.53 AUD, so you can understand my frustration.
I'll admit, I'm one of those Madewell Insiders - you know, the kind of shopper who is loyal to a brand and looks forward to the perks of insider status? But turns out, that didn't mean squat. They still wanted to charge me the big bucks to return my items.
And their excuse? Apparently, the courier company they work with is responsible for the high cost of returns. But here's the kicker - the amount charged was listed under the US returns section of their website. So, whether or not it's meant for US customers only, it's seriously confusing to see the amount charged in AUD. Is it just me, or does that feel a little misleading?
All in all, I'm just not feeling the love from Madewell. Maybe I'll give them another shot if they can sort out their return policies, but for now I'll probably take my business elsewhere.
Madewell Review: Poor Customer Service and Shipping Delays
So, I was on the hunt for some quality jeans for my wife and stumbled upon Madewell. After reading some rave reviews online, I decided to make the purchase. My wife has a hard time finding jeans that fit her properly, and the reviews seemed to suggest that Madewell jeans are the way to go.
I placed my order just before Christmas and was hoping to receive the jeans within a few days, so I paid extra for the speedy delivery option. However, Madewell took over three weeks to even send me anything! Imagine my surprise when I opened the package and found a completely wrong item. I was beyond frustrated and disappointed.
Now, to make matters worse, dealing with Madewell's customer service has been an absolute nightmare. They have been incredibly unhelpful and making matters worse. It feels as if they have completely abandoned me. I have tried repeatedly to get them to send me the return forms, but I'm still waiting.
To top it off, they are not even confirming that they will refund the extra postage cost I paid for the speedy delivery. What a rip off! My emails have been completely ignored. It's as if their customer service department does not exist.
Honestly, I have never experienced such poor customer service from any retailer before. It's unacceptable, and I am appalled. I do not recommend using Madewell based on my experience.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Madewell: Late Shipping and Broken Promises
Our experience with Madewell was quite disappointing, and we must say that their commitment to customer service is lacking. We had ordered a purse with monogramming for our Granddaughter as a Christmas Present, a month before the big day. We were promised that it would ship within Two Weeks, but we received it after 19 days of calling them every day for a week. The Customer Service Representatives assured us that they would call us back with a definitive ship date, but we never heard from them!
As they were late in shipping our order, they committed to upgrading the shipping. However, when the order was finally shipped, it was sent out using the SLOWEST shipping process - Surepost. The only good thing is that the purse eventually made it to us in time for the holiday.
We cannot rely on their word as it was no good during our experience with them. Despite this poor experience with Madewell, we encourage them to improve their customer service and commitment to their customers to avoid more disappointing experiences like ours.
Beware of Madewell's Refund Policy and Shady Business Practices: A Customer's Warning
So, I just got my refund from Madewell and guess what? They only gave me back a fraction of what I paid for my item, including the shipping! I mean, what kind of rip off is that?! I ordered size 26 shorts but they were so tiny I could fold them in half. And now Madewell wants to charge me ?30 for sending it back to Southampton from London - like seriously, after already paying ?15 for "international" shipping. It's like they're just trying to take advantage of their customers' hard-earned cash!
I'm not standing for this blatant theft and will definitely be taking this up with my bank ASAP. There's no way this can be legal, right? I really don't recommend anyone else making the same mistake I did by ordering from Madewell. These companies, J. Crew and Madewell, really need to reconsider their shady business practices. If only I could report them to the SEC or some higher authority.
This whole situation just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Buyer beware, folks!
Madewell: A Disappointing Attitude Towards Customer Service
I aint one to make noise, but I just had to share my experience with Madewell. So, I was just tryna buy some clothes and popped onto their site. Accidentally checked out as a guest, instead of using my insider account, you know how it goes. Lost all of them insider points, which sucked. Tried to hit up their chat team to see if they could help me out. But, boy, was I in for a rude surprise.
The chat assistant straight up brushed me off, like my question wasn't valid or something. And when I said I was still talking, they just bounced on me like it was nothing. What kinda customer service is that? I know I ain't the only one who's had this happen to them, but Madewell don't seem to care about fixing their network or nothing.
It's just plain greedy and uncaring, if you ask me. They could've helped me out, made me feel taken care of. But no, they chose to be jerks instead. And that's why I ain't giving them my business no more. There's plenty of other indie shops doing the same thing, but way better. So why even bother with Madewell's disappointing attitude?
Madewell Online Shopping Review: Two Wrong Colors, One Damaged Item - Disappointing Experience
I have purchased from Madewell's website and unfortunately, my experience was not pleasant. When I received my order, the color was incorrect not once, but twice. The disappointment was real. I contacted their customer service and was promised that on the third shipment, I would receive the correct item. I was excited for the third delivery but it turned out to be even worse when I found out that the item was damaged. It was disappointing to see such an obvious issue with the item, yet it was still shipped to me.
It's a shame that Madewell wasn't able to make up for their previous mistakes by delivering a damaged item on my third order. I would advise others to order from a different website and avoid the hassle of having to ship items back and forth. As an avid online shopper, this experience was by far the worst one I’ve had. I wouldn't wish this negative experience on anyone else. Therefore, Madewell will unfortunately be on my "never again" list for future purchases.
