Touch a block of color and watch it dissapear.

You can get in nice and close, auto Feather the edges of the finest selections. I love how you can select the color you are addressing, and easily vary the percentage of effect on a specific hue- you can watch those pixels disappear as the percentage is increased!

Fluid and exact; the only thing I didn't like was the missing "magnified edit window" showing what my finger was blocking during my edit!

A helpful small window within the screen showing where my finger was touching the working edge; now greatly amplified visually, to UNHIDE what my finger was blocking (the area I was trying to edit) would've been very helpful. Please make the upgrade or share how to easily incorporate this feature? I took away a star because it's missing.

Works well for exactly what i promises to provided. You can place the transparent background on anything manually, it has a pretty good & precise touch.

Once you’re done creating the transparent picture, that’s the past that could be improved.

Each image you create on this isn't saved into a gallery, as for future edits. So if you want to fix or add something from a previously edited picture. You’ll have to start over.

Second thing that it needs to improve is that it barely provides any other methods of editing. If gives you a slightly humorous “shadow” edit, it provides an edit option to color the background 1 specific color, or to put a certain background on it.

It’s very very limited, so personally i don't believe it’s worth the $10/month that it charges.

Hope they improve these things.

I am so glad I downloaded this app! But a little pinch to it..I know like every editing app you have to buy to get premium, but I sometimes have this feeling is it going to be a mistake?

This is app is all about editing and adding and taking away pictures, back-rounds, colors, and many to go! But a question... Can developers update the app a little more..? Not that I hate or anything but I keep on encountering a bug that is wont’t let me take away the background by its back round.

But again amazing app! I use this to edit every photo I have in my gallery! Thank you for making this editing app, I don’t know what I’ve done if I didn’t use this awesome app.

Perfect. I can zoom in really close which I absolutely love because I can really smooth out the edges and they look natural. I use to use photoshop but it would never let me zoom in super close so I'd always end up having unwanted and unclean edges. I also used eraser which I also like, but it's not like the magic eraser. I find magic eraser so much easier because the erasing part is easy and then the red mask helps me erase the areas I missed. With eraser, an annoyance I had was the touch aspect to erase. The area you pressed down guided the eraser, but the actually eraser was above the finger and if I rotated my picture the eraser itself wouldn't rotate. So yes, the magic eraser is my favorite. Gives me perfect results and hassle free. I love it, thank you for making it free and thank you for no water marks !

Yeah no, I will not be using this app anymore. The app was fine before. Easier to navigate, very simple and not complex. There”s nothing inherently wrong with you guys updating the way the app looks, but making it harder to use was the price for it? Was the retooling of the app’s function really necessary?

I don’t know why I’m even bothering to write this review in the first place, given that app makers these days don’t care about their consumers. Go ahead and reply to my review saying “sorry for the inconvenience,” cuz it’s not gonna change the fact that you ruined the app.

This will be the last time I’m using Magic Eraser. There’s just better apps out there that know what their costumers want. I’m so tired of app makers these days thinking they can just make unnecessary changes and then wonder why no one uses their apps anymore. Peace out.

I love this app... I need to create png files often for my graphics and this is excellent.
However...
There is one thing they HAVE to change...
When I have erased the background of an image, and I have been working on it for a while, with intricate areas, then hit the download button, it shows the two images, both with and without background.

The first inclination is always to hit the house icon in the upper right. When you do this, you lose everything you just did. Instead, you need to hit the photo of what you wish to save.

I have lost so much of my work by hitting this house icon...only to have to start from the beginning. The least you could do Is have a pop up window and ask if this is what you want to do, as a precaution. Easy..just a simple precaution.

Otherwise, this is the best eraser app out there...so Thank You to the developers!

I recently found this app, and it’s surprisingly really efficient! I love how close you can zoom in, how you can change the picture’s angle, and adjust the softness of the brush. So far, I’m absolutely enjoying it and have been able to make some really good renders, plenty better than the previous app I was using. My only problem is how easy it is to lose all my progress. They can take a long time to make, so I don’t always do it in one standing. Whenever I exit an app or turn off my device, I always fully close out the app to save battery, but whenever I close out this one (which has happened a lot), all my progress is instantly gone and I have to restart. Aside this, though, I have basically no complaints! I’ll definitely continue using it a lot and strongly recommend it to anyone who regularly makes renders while trying to go for the highest possible quality.

This is how free photo apps should be. Straight forward, fast, and without sneaky add on charges. I was just looking for a quick app that would allow me to erase backgrounds; I didn't expect such a bang-up job! I have a bagillion iPhone apps that, collectively, make most of the tools i use when making social media ads and content on my computer, but allowing me the flexibility to spread my company's message with a little flair (whoooo!) Of course, I can't match the quality I get from working on desktop photoshop by doing it all on my phone, and it is a pain in the butt sometimes having to use 15 apps to have a complete tool set (why can't there be one app to rule them all?), but this App right here! This app right here makes this step in the process painless... And it is really good! I think it cuts backgrounds out better than photoshop! Thanks for your awesome no BS App!

I like it! The auto cut doesn’t cut well though and it didn’t come that useful. That was the main reason I didn’t use it much. I am not patient so if you made the auto cut cut better that would be great! I would also recommend that you add video background eraser because I don’t know how to green screen yet and that would be useful. Also, the green screen would be a good idea because that would give consumers more of a reason to get the app. Plus, it makes MagicEraser unique and different from the other erasers. It still works and I would have used it more if I was more patient. I would also suggest that you make it so the premium ad doesn’t pop up right when you open the app. It can get annoying because I don’t spend money on apps and it looks like the app is basically begging for money. It is a pretty cheap part of the app, making it less useable. But other than my suggestions, the app is great and is still useable.

Hi, I have a big problem with this. And there are three reasons why. 1:when you open the app, it looks fun. When it’s not! 2:after you open it asks you for a subcrition when you didint even use the app yet! 3:then, it says you have three days to try it for free and if you want to keep the game you have to pay $9.00! That’s not fair!Like there are kids and adults who don’t have the money to pay for that!They use money when they need it.Not for apps or games that have free trials!A free trial is when a game says its free until a certain amount of time and then,you need to pay.Like what!?!?!?!Im very mad fix it! What’s more important:making the pass free so you can have lots of people playing it,of making them pay for it.Also you need to pay every year.i deleted the app on the day I downloaded it. Fix it now! All this is true I’m not lying.Dont believe me,try the app for your self!

As a expert at graphic design and using different industry standard technology, this app is great, since the option to properly digitize out ‘a field’ or section is what it does best. This is my first review... I felt I need to give this app a thumbs up for their effort to supply the creative industry a tool they can use to build story boards, to communicate a vision across visually. Please keep the PNG option as is don’t Change a thing this feature to export the file is perfect. Specially if your working while your traveling, this helps a lot, I wish there was an option to send larger file by a cloud base service. I am a believer that freedom to express should not condemn designers to a desk but rather experience the aspect of self and expression in the wonderment of everything. Sorry if this review is all words. It’s the feelings I feel of joy and sparkles... Like spongebobs wonderful life, and joy happiness to do what one does best, he loves flipin patties, and spend time out doors... peace.

I used Magic Eraser for a long time before I decided to get the “pro” version. While I do enjoy having the option to change the eraser to a square and a triangle, I just can’t justify paying yearly for it.

I would definitely buy the pro version if it was a one time charge, but I don’t think it’s worth paying yearly for it.

One thing that’s lacking (both in the free version as well as the paid) is that it doesn’t have an option for “redo”. It has undo, but I have accidentally tapped that more than once and since there isn’t a redo option, I have to go back and do the work over again. Having a redo would be a great addition to this app!

It would also be super helpful to be able to turn the triangle in different directions. I thought I would use the triangle often, but since it’s just in one direction and can’t be turned, I didn’t use it as much. I realize you can rotate the photo, but would be nice to be able to rotate the triangle eraser.

I hope that the developers will decide to have a “pay once” setup in the future. Until then, I’ll have to stick with the free version. It’s definitely easier when you can make the eraser a square or triangle, but I can’t see paying yearly for this.

So I was using this app for a while and really liked it. I wasn’t even using it correctly then. Now that I realized my mistake, I absolutely love the app!

It turns out that I was using the Magic Wand feature incorrectly and was overcomplicating it and not getting the desired result when I wanted to automatically erase little stray sections.

When you press the Magic Wand in the bottom left, make sure to put your finger on the picture that you’re working on and drag it over to the part you want to erase (if you’re not already there.) Then, in the magnifying glass, it shows you the part that it will erase.

What I was doing was tapping continually on the stray sections that I wanted to erase while I used the Magic Wand. This made it take a while to erase the correct sections because I was overcomplicating it and doing it wrong, hahaha. So don’t do what I did!

After about a year of having this app and making that change with how I used the Magic Wand, I went for the premium. It’s suuuper cheap and makes it even easier and quicker to use the app.

I haven’t used the softening, offset, and brush shape features from the premium yet, but I plan to try them out when I may need them. I have used the feature that toggles a black or white background, and it is amaaazing with providing contrast and having an even-easier time seeing what the project in progress looks like.

I sent the developer an email suggestion (who introduced himself as Alan,) and Alan was super quick to respond and was kind and receptive to feedback and suggestions! If you’re reading this, thank you Alan! ☺️

It amazes me how much time, thought, ingenuity, and effort goes into creating needed apps like this, and I couldn’t be more appreciative!

EDIT: Came back to update my review after the 12/28/22 update. Now that I have played around with the new features and learned how to use the app, my opinion is that it is absolutely fantastic. This developer continues to satisfy. My hope is that he will develop a less expensive photoshop-like app. I would purchase it in a heartbeat. As for this app, it exceeds my expectations, and I have once again given it 5 stars. I wish there were a higher rating to give it, but since there isn’t I will just share with you that I will definitely be renewing my automatic subscription option.

I can’t say I'm completely thrilled with the recent major update. At first I came to give the app 1 star, but after fooling around with it more I realized that it is just more complicated now and less user friendly. There are some neat new features, but a better user guide and perhaps some tutorial videos are definitely called for. I was hoping for the ability to save images to which we apply a shadow might now be able to be saved with a transparent background, but instead of that feature I can’t find the shadow feature at all. (?) I won’t be requesting a refund for my subscription, but I did cancel the automatic renewal. I will say that this developer's apps are superior to others that I have tried ~ his collage app is awesome ~ so hopefully future updates of this background eraser app will provide some much needed “how to” information. EDIT: Thanks to the developer for his response. I found the shadow tool after following his instructions, and it’s great! We now have the ability to save a shadowed image with a transparent background, and that is exactly what I wanted. I have added an extra star to this review, and will likely be upgrading it to 5 stars as soon as tutorial videos are added to the app. This developer continues to satisfy.

Ugh! If it ain’t broke, don’t “fix” it. This newest update inserts a giant black background behind an already clean .png with the background removed through another program. I’ve been using this app to layer in backgrounds. Now, it doesn’t work for squat. Please roll it back!

I deleted the app after less than 15 minutes on their ‘free trial’. I told them that I would not be needing it and to please not charge me. They charged me anyway after 2 days. I would like them to kindly give me my money back because I found an app I like better and they don’t charge.

I used to love this app, it was so easy to use. The newest update to fix everything that was screwed up from the previous update is a little better, but it still isn’t as good as it was before, why did y’all try to fix something that wasn’t broken, you failed! Please put it back the way it was!

I loved this app because it worked so well with making images transparent but overtime it began to leave this white border around it, it's gotten so bad that even using the target function is pointless because it still leave that white border. I hope this gets fixed soon then I'll put it back at 5 stars

This used to be a pretty good app, but for some reason it doesn’t make transparent backgrounds any more that you can save and share, so it’s pretty useless for editing photos. I wrote to the app maker to find out why it stopped working, and I got no response.
Save your money and keep looking elsewhere.

Used to enjoy this app; I’ve used for years. Today I noticed it won’t give me the option to decline authorization to view ALL my photos. You can only click on ONE button, and that’s to agree to ALL my pictures. Used to be you could either x out or ‘NO.’ Feels like a violation of my privacy, I stoped using it. Bummer.

Well it’s awesome and it removes backgrounds great for editing. But the reason I give it only 2 stars is because (this problem is only for some people) it doesn’t let me import the photos to the eraser. Sometimes it works and sometimes I can’t use the app at all. Please fix this bug, if you do then I would be happy to give 5 stars.

I’ve used this fantastic app for several years and found nothing close to the features and ease of use. But two weeks ago it reverted back to its basic unpaid version? Why? I have paid for the newest version. It continues to work fine on my iPhone, but I need it on my iPad as it worked before. This is a 5 star product when it was working.

Recently updated the app with the “big update” but instead it completely messed up the app. The AI used to be able to remove the backgrounds perfectly, now it often takes the main image with it.
The whole setup and layout of the app has now changed making it significantly harder to use.
Used to be a great and effect app, now has taken a far turn towards the worst.

Apple just emailed me my card was declined so my renewal did not go through. I’m on day 2 or a 3 day free trial. I didn’t like this app on day 1 so I cancelled it before and it currently shows it canceled in my subscription setting. I’m not happy to have Apple try to renew this app I canceled on day 1 of my free trial. This is why I don’t have a normal card on file for Apple.

I’ve used this app for years and I always had a choice of saving the file to a JPEG with an invisible background so that I could use it in applications that require that, because I want the background gone so that I can layer it with other objects in another photo app. Now if I want the invisible background it defaults to PNG which does not work for me. otherwise if I want to JPEG it’s forcing a white background which does not work.

I don’t mind paying for some abs, but I like to be told advance that there’s a charge almost every app says what the fees are going to be not this one. This one is a scam only after you install it and try to use it they tell you as a trial version for good for so many days and then you have to pay. If I had known that in advance, I might’ve been prepared tried it and paid but I don’t like to be scam to this way I don’t like to be lied to buy developer this way.
Whatever you do, beware of this developer, they lie.

You can edit your top photo perfectly but no matter what background photo you chose you won’t be able to match the top photo to the background photo the way you’d want because you’re unable to edit the top photo once you add the background photo. It’s like asking you to fit a piece of a puzzle without the background and once you add the background you’ll see what parts of the top photo needs to be edited some more. If you were able to edit the top photo while on top of the background this app would work perfectly.

The new update causes the eraser to be really choppy. Before the update I would’ve given this app a 4 star rating. The new update adds a square and triangle eraser too which I find extremely pointless for an app like this. I’ve been a graphic designer for a few years and have 10k+ on instagram for my work. For the past while now I’ve been without my laptop and have been just on mobile. I’ve been using this app the whole time up until the recent update. It was the best free background eraser app up until the update. I’m looking forward to when this issue gets resolved
