job not completed correctly
Omg. . . Majic windows brought the wrong replacement window again! This is the fourth attempt! We've been dealing with this awful company for over a year and i'm fed up! I do not recommend majic windows! Customer service is awful. . . Awful!
This is more than an, "oops, wrong window". Majic ordered screens that didn't fit correctly, windows that were the wrong size and shape! This latest attempt was just another try by majic to make it right. Hey majic. . . It's still not right!
We can't even get the store manager to return a phone call! We get. . . Cara. . . Allison. . . Melanie. . . Mike. . . Never alan brooks. Left a voicemail for him at 10:30 friday morning and his. . . "assistant who handles his voicemail messages" called at us at the end of the day. Mr. Brooks has left for the day, she tells us! He will call us on monday. Well. . . Monday has passed and no phone call. This behavior is nothing new from majic. .
Majic windows is not a company i would recommend to anyone!
UPDATE: filed a complaint with the BBB...

horrible treatment with their employees!
Majic windows is a horrible company. Hard work means nothing to them. The General Manager and just about anyone else in the company of authority are all family hire on's-inlaws of Rod Rue the owner who married a bulldyke who left him with the intent on taking him to the cleaners. He only keeps them on so he will not have to give them a real wage and so he can keep the woman happy. The GM instructs workers to lie, promotes only his party buddies and friends and treats everyone else like dirt. Rod Rue is a good man but is married on family are trash. He has very little if no idea what is even going on with his company and if he did he would have a heart attack. I would not buy anything from this company.

The Majic Windows representative Zack knocked on my door today. After answering the door and realizing it was a sales pitch I politely said that I a not interested in anything he has to offer, just to save time for both of us. He became very pushy and rude. As he walked away from my door I heard him mumbling B" word. I called the company and after sharing my experience to one of their phone operators by name Eve, she told me they have right to knok on the door unless I have "no solisiting" sign, sorry for your trouble and hanged up the phone.
?
Am I missed something in translation Majic Windows? One of your sales representatives knocked on my door and insulted me in my own house. And everything you have to say, Sorry for your trouble.
Well, now that I have had this kind of experience with your shady comany and read all the negative reviews I would never even concider to hire you. I wish you happy going out of business. Frankly consumers have a power to choise the best, and you just proved to me that you are the worst, and the best thing it didn't cost me a
penny. Shame on you Majic Windows, Zack and Eve. I an going to put No Soliciting on my door, just to keep you away from it. Goodluck in collecting unemployment.
Majic Window not only needs to be investigated regarding their (lack of) business acumen, but their treatment of their employees. The owner Rod Rue, brother and President, Bart Rue, and General Manager Allen Brooks are incompetent - at best! This company is a distributor - not a manufacturing nor engineering company! They install windows from Inline of Canada - whatever Inline has on hand and ships. No research regarding Northern Hemisphere product design and engineering specifications for proper glass requirements. Once my final checked cleared, the Lifetime Guarantee for my continued air leaking (50F) Bay and Kitchen windows isn't worth the powder to blow it up! Avoid this company at all costs! Already filed formal written complaints, with 30 pages of documentation to Mort Crim Communications, the BBB of SE Michigan and the Michigan Attorney General.
Yesterday, March 7, sales people from Majic Windows were soliciting in the Hall Meadows Condominium Association in Macomb Township despite the fact that there are NO SOLICITING SIGNS posted at the entrance.
This is the second time I have had to write to Majic Windows about soliciting in one of the properties we manage (over 60 in the metro area).
Stay the hell out of these condos . . . . we have already recommended our Boards NOT to approve any windows from Majic or any other of your products because you do not follow the posted rules.
Residents called the police and evidently someone in Macomb Township authorized a permit to enter the community. I don't care who gave them a permit, stay OUT!

Rip off! November 2013 we had Majic contracted to remove mold (using a fogger) in the attic and blow in Owens fiber glass, along with adding ridge vents in the soffits. Today I am having my roof torn apart, because mold returned due to inadequate ventilation, which Majic was supposed to fix. It was time for a new roof anyway (shingles), but the OSB wood in the front of our house (1, 100 sq ft) could not be saved. The contractor I'm using took pics of the attic to show the the insulation was never blown in where the roof meets the soffits (Ceiling drywall was still exposed), and the baffles used in the attic we sub-par (incorrect length). All Majic work we paid for. Also, insulation was blown into the baffles clogging them up. So here we sit, paid $6, 600, over 8K after interest, only to have the attic redone. Thanks Majicless.
Recently installed kitchen and bay windows leak like a seive. Glass was installed at 0.22 SHGC ... Southern Hemisphere requirements. Northern Hemisphere requires 0.6 SHGC. DUH! Gas bills have increased 25% since installation. Everything has been documented. February 2016.
I marked this complaint as unhelpful only, because I just recently had windows installed from Majic. Up until recently I wasn't sure why there was so much negativity surrounding Majic, but then I saw this post...http://www.hansons.com/Majic_Windows.htm It all clicked. Majic doesn't even offer vinyl and yet Hansons is slamming Majic through a video that doesn't even relate to them. They make a bunch of false claims. It's clear other window companies are slamming each other online. It's hard to know who to trust, but I can tell you I was absolutely 100% satisfied with my purchase. The salesman was very friendly, the installation went smoothly, and these new windows are awesome.
I purchased a home in 2013 which had the windows replaced in 2007 from Majic Windows.. We noticed when it rained water in the sills and that the sills were damaged from moisture and I guess this is why.. The previous owner told us that they replace them with the best windows out there.. We have rented all our lives so didn't know any better.. This was our first home.. We called Majic Windows and told them that we purchased the home in 2013 and the previous homeowner told us that she purchased windows with them and it had a 50 year warranty.. They told me that I had to pay them 100.00 to transfer the warranty and then pay 76.00 for them to come out and inspect the windows to see if they would be warrantied and that they don't pay for molding or trim, or screens, we would have to pay extra for that.. I asked why we had to pay for the warranty to be transferred, shouldn't it come with the house and they said not that it goes with the previous homeowner because they paid for it? What? I said, they didn't take the windows with them and they said that they would come out if we pay them 176.00... I think this is horrible.. What is a warranty worth if you have to pay for it and a service call if it is obviously a warranty issue.. I didn't do anything to the window to make it leak..
We called another company and when they first came up they said that whoever installed our windows did not put flashing around them so that is why it is leaking... You should see our sills, they are basically ruined and of course they don't pay for that, we have to pay for the damage to the sills and trim and molding that goes around the window extra..
Another company won't touch the windows so now we have to have them replaced and it is going to cost us 7000.00... I am so stressed out!
I bought 3 windows from them in 2011. Within 2 months my cat fell from the second story when the screen came out. Their reply was there's a warning not safe and I'd have to pay 180.00 for a new screen. Now I feel air coming through and for them to come out it's 75.00. I'm past the two years. I'd never buy from them again.
Thanks for all of your reports! My husband saw Magic Windows advertised on TV and also received ads in mailings, he ask me to check it out. Well I checked it out and thanks to ALL of the BAD Complaints I would NEVER LET THEM IN THE DOOR, regardless that we need replacement windows. I do not like hard sells tactics and that turns me off to the point that even if it was a fantastic product, I WOULD NOT Sign a contract! A BIG THANKS for taking the time to post.
Horrible treatment by their sales people too. I find it quite ironic that Keith Wysocki (the first comment / response on this thread) was bashing Majic like he did, especially considering HE WORKS FOR MAJIC AND WAS OUR SALESMAN!
I have been around for a while and seen some pretty pushy and obnoxious sales people but Keith tops them actually getting demeaning toward my wife and I. Also, he put a big scratch in out BRAND NEW counter top (less than 2 weeks old) and claimed that it was a crappy counter because it scratched so easy. OR - Maybe it was that big screw hanging under the sample window frame you d-bag.
It is funny how he was selling Majic's awesome warrantee as the greatest thing since the cotton gin
yet bashes it here.
Majic has an "OK" product. Not the Cadillac that they try to sell it as, but their sales strategy is borderline criminal using "bullying" tactics if they can't close the deal. Additionally, their price is about 30% higher than a true Cadillac window installation.
Needless to say, we did not sign with Majic.

Run don’t walk away from this company. Not one thing they promised us or sold us has preformed like we were told. It’s not March and they were installed in December. Wrong window installed in kitchen, additional waiting with no updates when they finally came to install the window I paid for, the knob to open the window hits my 700 faucet. The company response “just push the faucet forward when you want to open the window”. I didn’t pay 1500 for a window that doesn’t work as promised. We were sold 15,900.00 worth of windows with most of them being picture windows as we were looking for the most sound proof windows we could get. We live on a main road and our salesman Andrew, pointed out how horrible the noise was when he was sitting down with his sales pitch. I took him to the master and said “are you telling me this noise will disappear” he responded with “by at least 70%” so although we did not need all the windows replaced we agreed. He was wonderful at showing us videos of the difference in noise reduction from “previous customers”. His first price blew our mind and we said no. Immediately he was able to get it down by 10,000. He told us how he’s the director and when he saw our address he said “I took this away from another sales guy because I know how loud this house can be”. He’s a hell of a salesman. I again said that as long as he promises the noise will get better by at least 50% I would be thrilled. I told him that the 70% he kept using would just be incredible but I will settle for 50%. He couldn’t write it all up on his paperwork but he would email me the breakdown pricing for each window as well as the details we discussed within the next few days. He was very responsive via text and helpful at first. After the 3rd day passed and you can no longer cancel the order he changed but was still decent. Fast forward they install the windows and when they finish the installer asks me to come look upstairs. First thing I said as I entered the hallway was “they are pretty, followed by why is it so loud up here still as I entered the bedroom”. Joe the installer who is a personal friend of Andrew the sales guy said “oh really I thought it sounded better”. I explained that it did not sound ANY BETTER! He said I had to call Andrew so I did. This is when I found out that all of the caulking, nail holes, wall damage etc would be my responsibility to hire a contractor to fix. WAIT WHAT? Joe saw how upset I was and said he would caulk and maybe that would help with the noise. I tipped him 100.00 but the caulk didn’t help. I’m left with nail holes and wall damage. I contact Andrew who via text says he will send someone out to fix all of this, that was in December 2021 it’s now March 2022. Meanwhile Andrew disappears and does not return, texts, calls emails or voicemail. I have asked a minimum of 8 times for the price breakdown and he has literally responded most of the time that he emailed it, mailed it blah blah blah. I continue to reach out but he’s nowhere to be found. I call the office and the woman says she will email the breakdown and make sure Andrew calls me back. She sent a follow up email saying “we don’t release that info to customers”. Andrew never calls. Finally someone sends out a service tech to address the noise pollution and the guy tries to caulk a few windows but it makes no difference so he leaves. He also adds that he’s sorry and he understands and he acknowledges that the windows we were sold don’t match like I had been telling my sales guy and the install guys. Fast forward I get an appointment on 3/3/22 for the correct window to be replaced in the kitchen. My appointment time 8-10am. I stay home waiting but no one shows up and I get no phone call. I call the office and explain that I’m leaving at noon and how inconsiderate to not even call. An hour later Joe shows up with a chip on his shoulder. He installs the “window I paid for”. Low and behold Andrew calls during this time and acts surprised that we are upset at all the lies we have been told. He says “my number changed so I didn’t know you were calling”. Just another lie, he was answering via text until the problems started to mound. I go to open the kitchen window and the lever hits the faucet making it unusable. I see Joe the installer taking a video showing how the crank works fine as long as you manipulate my faucet. I say on video that he’s not telling the truth and this crank is not where we were told it would be. He gives me attitude. I again let Andrew know what’s going on. Andrew assured me it will be handled asap and starts bringing up court as I suppose a threat. I informed him that if the noise issue can’t be mitigated then these windows do not serve the purpose that we were sold on them for. I told Andrew the holes, wall damage even the unmatched windows I can deal with later but not the noise. It is so bad that I now have to use ear plugs to sleep in my new almost 16,000 windows. I’m told a manager will call me on Monday or Tuesday, guess what Monday passed and Tuesday late I receive an email from Andrew that he hasn’t heard back yet. I again ask for the breakdown pricing which he’s told me numerous times he’s sent but somehow I still don’t have. Today on 3/10/22 I finally get a call from “a manager” who starts out nice enough and quickly becomes aggressive. He tells me that the noise is “my opinion” and to show him the decibel reading. I tell him I have before and after video of the noise and to just please come to the house so he can see it for himself. He responds that he’s not coming and to show him where the decibel reading is in the contract. I tell him I have texts with Andrew he can see all the promises made to seal the deal. I asked “what the point of showing us the video where the air conditioning noise is so bad you can’t think and after Majic replaces the sliding door the noise is almost completely fine”? He ignores this and just says “show me in the contract”. I plead with him to just come to the house and see for himself but he again says NO and tells me he putting a lien on my house. He continues to add narrative that I’m refusing to pay, I tell him that’s not true but I didn’t get what I was sold. He just starts to bait me and threaten with putting a lien on my house. I was very open with him and my sales guy Andrew that I would be contacting other companies to give and give me an idea and quote for whatever product I needed to stop the noise. This manager starts with “NO COMPANY IS GOING TO BE BETTER THAN OURS. NO COMPANY WILL MAKE THE NOISE BETTER”. He refuses to back up that claim with actual facts and seeing how the company stands behind their word I am not surprised. I have texts, emails multiple phone conversations to show my side but what I don’t have is a window that opens in the kitchen without damaging my faucet. I don’t have the wall repairs they promised or the nail holes they promised to fix. I certainly Do not have the windows I was pressured into buying to stop the noise by at least 50%. I do have someone claiming to be a manager threatening me with a lien, refusing to come see for himself of how bad it is and also refusing to look at the promises via texts. I guess I should have suspected something when Andrew the sales guy said “if you give us a 5 star review I will take another 50.00 off” seeing as they hadn’t even started I regret falling for it. They have good reviews because they make you feel bad on the spot and pay 50 bucks for the bogus review. RUN DON’T WALK. THE WINDOWS ARE ATTRACTIVE BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT!
