MapQuest This is the one for the iphone app

This is the one for the iphone app. It is great as it directs you from your location and then it both is followed by reading the directions which are very easy to read, and it also has a voice so you do not have to be looking at the gadget every few minutes.

MapQuest New is not necessarily better

I agree this new form is not user friendly. Please give me back the old mapquest!
Used the old form extensively. I could plan how to get from one place on a street to another location on the same street.as well as plan long distances. If some like this new form, ok, but give us the old form too!

MapQuest More accurate then Google Maps!

I moved to Raleigh/Durham last September '18. Several people told me wife and I not trust Google Maps in this area. And to always pan out and "SEE" where the planed route is taking you,
Many times it took us on some pretty out of the way routes, and not due accidents.
I will NEVER use Google maps again.

After using MapQuest for 6 weeks now, I have not had a single issue. Plus, I like the time line on top, where it will show how many minutes your are from the destination.
I'd give MapQuest a constellation if I could!. Cheers! David C. Miller

MapQuest Alexander Was A Great Help To Me

I have been a long time customer of Public Storage since the 90's when it was Minikahda Mini-Storage; they were bought by Minneapolis Public Storage a couple of years ago. I am currently living in California, and had not been in my storage lockers in Minneapolis for 5 years. When I was recently home, and needing to quickly resolve a situation involving new locks, I was greatly helped by Alexander. I was fortunate that he was at the front desk on the day that I came in. Alexander researched what had happened with my lockers during the new management (a lock had been cut off). I was very glad to have the mystery sorted out and resolved at that time. Alexander, even while helping other customers at the same time, gave me his full attention and came upstairs with me to my lockers to see what he could do to help. I am very grateful for Alexander's prompt and effective problem-solving!

MapQuest Older mapquest was good. Now it's disappointing

First use: Entered Start and finish. Hit preview and... ok, what do I do now? It just showed the path on the map. I couldn't click on anything else. Preview button still said Preview but was greyed out. Couldn't find the detailed directions anywhere or any other button or tab to show the directions. Second try: closed out browser and tried it again. This time the "Preview Button" changed into another button to show the details. Why didn't that show up before? I could now see my start and finish. I then wanted to zoom out to see how far I was to another state. It only would zoom out so far and I wasn't able to slide the map over to see things around it. In the stop by stop direction it shows the total time and distance at the end, not at the beginning. Kind of useless since the first thing people want to know is how far, and how long. Having to scroll down to the next stop to see that info is annoying. Frustrating to use because it doesn't seem to always work properly and it intentionally limits how far off your course you can view. The old Mapquest was better. I'll stick with it's competitors.

MapQuest Is this the result of over-tweaking, or the absence of management and vision?

I knew MapQuest back in the early days of the internet. It was a vital, useful tool for the user.
Today I returned to it for the first time, hoping to find a reasonable alternative to Google Maps or Bing.
It was extremely exasperating. Does anybody at MapQuest have a vision of who the user is, or what she/he wants? Or is everybody just deeply committed to the tinkering/tweaking side of the company? And to whom are you pandering your product?
When I want to browse around in the streets around NYC's Morningside Heights and Columbia University area, I want the app to stay at the zoom level that works for me, not to keep snapping back out to a continent-wide view centered on Kansas, snapping to what some marketing type thinks will create maximum clicks so that you can show your clients how effective you are at catching eyeballs. And I want some recognizable controls, or Settings pages.
The worst for me is the absence of user-friendly navigation aids, thoughtfully-positioned prompts, that sort of thing.
I want to tell your eyeball-counting clients that they should demand a shake-up in your approach to serving the needs of your users, however many users there might be after this large mistake.
If you have a business vision and a business model, and that seems doubtful, you might want to appeal to your remaining users by posting that vision for everyone to see. Then hire some real management who know the web market and have the technical savvy to bring about some re-healing of MapQuest... some people who will dedicate themselves and their teams to making MapQuest a world-class enterprise.

Meanwhile, I'm going back to the other guys' sites.

MapQuest HORRIBLE

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! When moving my son to Philadelphia on Aug. 1, I stupidly used this company. They called us on the morning of Aug. 1, saying that we'd get our belongings either at Noon or between 4-5. WRONG. NOBODY CALLED.

When I FINALLY got a person to pick up the phone (Aug. 2,3:40 pm), I was told the shipment had been delivered. WRONG. The person went to check the records, and came back insisting I had my stuff! (Seriously? Why call if I had my stuff? Then why did we sleep in a naked apartment, on a hardwood floor on Aug. 1?)

After finally getting in touch with the driver, I was told that they were in PA the night before, in another town, but weren't able to make the delivery, due to some laws about how many hours they are allowed to drive.

So, instead, they drove all the way to Conn., which was where he was, waiting to get someone to come with him to Philadelphia and make the delivery. At 3:45 on Aug., I was told they would be there in an hour. WRONG. I made THREE calls to Around the Clock Moving, the morning of Aug. 2, and left messages that were never answered.

My son and I went to sleep AGAIN on the hardwood floor. I received a text from the driver at 12:27 am. Aug. 3, saying they were in the area, "but its late." I called him and told him to make the delivery NOW. They made the delivery, BUT FIVE ITEMS WERE MISSING. I realized things were missing, about 5 minutes after they left, but was told they couldn't come back, because they were heading to Florida. (So much for that law limiting driving time...)

When I called the company on Wednesday, I told them I wanted them to bring back the sofa the movers weren't able to get up the stairs, at no cost to me, as a result of the horrible "service" and to compensate for my damaged physical condition from sleeping on the floor. (I've had back surgery, knee surgery (this past May) and have two herniated discs in my neck. Sleeping on the floor aggravated my pain.) They said they would charge me $250 instead of $500. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

So, here I am, three weeks later, after speaking with them several times (out of 15 calls, total), having sent them a letter of complaint and some texts, still with missing items, a sofa that was taken out of the lobby where they left it (even though my son had a sign on it), still having pain issues from two nights as a result of their crappy communications with their drivers and, me.

SERIOUSLY. FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION (MENTAL AND PHYSICAL) DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT use these people. They are cheap, I'll grant you that, but I obviously got (or for the 5 missing items, didn't get) what I paid for.

Is MapQuest Legit?

MapQuest earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds MapQuest to be a trustworthy company. If you're thinking about dealing with MapQuest, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

As a result, only 10% of 20 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • MapQuest protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
  • We conducted a search on social media and found several negative reviews related to MapQuest. These reviews may indicate issues with the company's products, services, or customer support. It is important to thoroughly research the company and its offerings before making any purchases to avoid any potential risks.

MapQuest Map listings that are wrong

I have changed my business name and have notified MapQuest over 20 times, and nothing has happened. https://www.mapquest.com/us/texas/biewer-associates-460995003 the name should be BAA-Solutions LLC.

The second listing that I have complained about is over 10 years old, here is this listing https://www.mapquest.com/us/wisconsin/prepaid-legal-services-inc-independent-associate-410983013 Someone edited it and removed my name on this listing, and I haven't lived in WI for over 10 years. The address is the same as the address on the listing above. The name needs to be changed to Biewer Independent Associate - LegalShield.

Desired outcome: The information I listed above is corrected.

MapQuest Recent update doesn't work

I've used your app for many years with my business on my iPhone. I use it so I can see what streets and freeway exits to look out for. When you updated the app several months back it stop listing whether freeways to take were north, south, east, or west. This makes no sense. Zero sense. If I'm in San Diego or LA and going to a job- in the past it would list what is the most obvious thing one needs to know in a last second decision on the freeway with cars around me and large trucks to the side of me- Now since you updated, on these last second decisions I have to simply guess, and if I'm wrong and on LA freeways, I may have to go 7-12 miles to take another freeway and get back on track.

Can someone explain this. I'm baffled. If someone asked my, just like every app I've seen, what is the most important thing to know while driving in order to be safe when knowing when and where to turn- the obvious understanding that even a 7 year old would say is "Do I take North or South? East or West. For example- I've been in San Diego for 46 years. The 8 Freeway on your app never says east or west now. It says to take the Kummeyay Freeway- without saying which direction, so I have to just guess. I know of no one in San Diego that calls it that. This app is utter nonsense, and defeats the purpose of even having navigation. I don't get it.

Desired outcome: Change your app to the way it was, listing North or South. East or West. Or why even have a "Navigation App?"

MapQuest Mapping New Routes for Car Tours

For years and years, I have mapped road tours for our AACA car club. We take five - seven tours a year. Our club directors select the places we visit, give me the addresses and I used Mapquest to plan our routes. I based this on the roads best suited for classic cars, not the fastest, not the shortest, but often the curviest and hilliest. I did this by entering the stops into your program and then pulling the roads to fit our desires. And now all I can get is the shortest route and no options to change it. That doesn't work for the hundreds that come on our tours.

Is there a way to return to the old software?

Desired outcome: Give me an optional site to open to plan our routes.

MapQuest Mapquest directing me to a tool road for no reason

We live in Imperial beach area, we were going to the Marriott at 2005 center park road Chula Vista ca 91915 at about 4:15... we put the address in mapquest and it took us 5 north all the way to the 54 east freeway to the 125 south(Toll rd) to Olympic parkway. Well, my credit card would not work, the red light never turned green. I assume I will receive a bill in the mail. Way out of the way... We could have went 905 to 805 north and got off on Olympic parkway and went east ...

Desired outcome: I would like, not to have to pay this bill and I would like it if someone looked into this and ensure mapquest and toll roads are not working together to make money on toll roads!

Whatever updates that were made June - 2022, trash them! Mapquest is NO LONGER User Friendly. Mapquest does not allow easy access to addresses that are displayed in the dropdown.

It inadvertently opens websites that are not requested.

What happened to the 2 or 3 driving options?

I might as well use Google Maps.

MapQuest Mapquest.com

You have changed mapquest and made it even more user unfriendly. There is no place where it says directions. If you do not change this, I will be forced to use google maps. The first change you made years ago made it difficult to find the direction tab as it does not have the word direction on it. You have words for everything but directions and I think that is what most people use your website for. I want to pull up mapquest and hit one word to get to directions. Please let me know if there is an easier way to get directions on your website as there are no instructions on where directions are. This is very frustrating. When you change a website, you should make it easier and not harder to navigate.

Desired outcome: Would like to be able to get directions without having the hit several places.

I totally agree. Whoever the Map Quest Developer is - they are destroying what worked perfectly. Every change they have made so far has made it worse. I use the Multi Route Planning and it is impossible now. It used to work so perfectly for my needs. I am desperately trying to find a new way to do what I need to do. I would even pay to use the service if they would change it back to the way it was.

MapQuest Mapquest error message "route failure". MapQuest provides no way to resolve such errors.

I searched for driving directions to Casa Grande Ruins site using the National Monument address from the government site. Mapquest returned this error message "Route Failure. Unable to calculate Route". It leaves you there with no suggestions. There is no way to look up a Mapquest error without being sent to some irrelevant and useless FAQs.

I went to my laptop and checked the address; it was correct. I searched online and found this site:

https://help.mapquest.com/hc/en-us/sections/200972494-Website-Troubleshooting-

I made sure Locations was not blocked for MapQuest on Chrome Settings. I cleared the cache on Chrome Settings. Checked signal strength: four bars. Still getting the same error. Searched for the error on Internet from a computer. Nothing found. No way to get help from MapQuest.

Desired outcome: Have MapQuest work on my iPhone.

MapQuest Directions

I was obtaining directions for a trip I was planning on for Friday, Feb. 4. I checked the Route Settings and chose Kilometers over Miles and specifically wanted NO TOLL ROADS. I clicked on Apply Settings. When I went back to the directions, it had Hwy 407 (a toll road) and distances in miles. What did I just do, pound sand? Does this software even register what it is getting from the user? I went back to settings and did it again except while swearing at it and then to the directions which finally registered the correct settings. Is something wrong or just stupid with this software? I expect things to work right the first time.

Desired outcome: Ensure that commands in the settings are actually applied and not ignored like they were never there.

MapQuest is awful. So is complaint filing. Why do I have to sign into Facebook in order to file it? Why do I have to complain with a certain # of characters? I haven't traveled anywhere for awhile. MapQuest used to be simple. Not now.
MapQuest kicked me out several times when just trying to obtain and save a map. Now is stuck on that map & I can't do another. Used to be simple. Now difficult and covered with annoying popups. Looking for another map site.

Once upon a time, I used and liked Mapquest. No more. Lately when I try to use it, it eventually freezes and I get a message asking if I want to Wait, or exit. I think the reason it freezes is that so many pop ups and ads open while I'm trying to plan a route that it overwhelms the app. Whether that is it or not, it makes Mapquest unusable and a waste of time. So I will look for a different app for directions now. A pity since it was once a very useful tool.

MapQuest Directed in circle on and off toll roads when avoid tollroads is set

I wonder if Mapquest is being paid by tollroads because I am repeatedly directed to take a tollroad (even though avoid tollroads is set) so I follow it thinking it's necessary, then am told to get off and back off, multiple times, going the same directions. There is no traffic jam, or any other purpose to get off and get back on other than to pay twice. Also I'm directed to go one way and then to make a u-turn and go back to where I came from, then back and around and then more u-turns. What is the point of having the app? I feel I should be reimbursed for all the extra toll charges. Frustrating.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement, and also improvement of the service.

MapQuest Denied admittance to my appointment

Happened again: Went into Diagnostic Imaging. I wore a shield. They refused to admit me because I did not have a mask. I advised them, I was disabled with health issues and was exempt. They still refused me. I said I would wait in my car until my appointment. Then the manager, Greg (he would not give me his last name), called me and said his boss made the rules and I had to wear a mask, or I would not be admitted. I said I could not and they by not admitting me they were breaking numerous laws (ADA, unconstitutional, etc). He said his boss Ricky made the rules and that was the way it was! So I'm now filing a complaint with the state's Attorney General and the VA. Because of their action, my filing for additional disability has been put on hold!

MapQuest online maps

Your website is disgusting with all of the popup advertisements that come up while trying to view a map online. No, I don't wish to "sign up" or "log in". I just want to find something on the damn map. Why do you people insist on shoving this advertising down our throats to the point where we can't even view the product we came out here to see? Very very frustrating. I'll use another product instead that doesn't advertise the crap out of me.

MapQuest Directions

It used to be that Mapquest.com was the simplest and easiest tool from which I could find any directions from point A to B, without the hassle of major interstate with its wonderful "No Highways" option. Well, Mapquest sure has changed its tune. So, I guess I'll go back to using hard-copy maps. This isn't the only device which has discouraged my usage. Consider the "new and improved" Avid, which has taken over Sibelius 6, which I have enjoyed using as a composer for its sound features, especially for strings. Now that Avid has taken over in the format of Sibelius 7.5, it's just not the same. Avid sound features are a throwback to the MOOG. If I wanted my compositions to sound like the MOOG, I'd use Avid. But for now, I'll hang on to Sibelius 6. To all those out there, the computer has genuinely FAILED us. Can anyone really find anything, anymore, on this instrument of torture ? Consider the simplicity of looking for an address to a pharmacy in your hard-copy business telephone directory. Try looking up, per se, CVS on Peachtree Industrial Blvd., and see what you get. I'm looking at it right now. Everything but. Thank you but NO.

I ride my bicycle around the area and wished to find the shortest distances and the estimated distances. Mapqukest was difficult to obtain the directions, always trig to get me to enter extraneous information and difficult to enter data of desired locations. MapQuest offered to "optimize" my stops and gave me much further distances and also much more traffic. Totally unsatisfactory in an "optimized" version.
