Marc's Flooring Service Don't contract w/them

Don't contract w/them. Which means not use *** for any flooring needs. Much damage by the workers was made to my home when installing carpet and moving furniture on 8/26: two pieces of furniture had major damage. They used my master bedroom window to throw carpet out, which in turn they somehow damaged the seal on the window, now a stream of air flows through. A closet door broken, now no longer closes. Staples everywhere in the carpet and/or not properly fixed all the way into the floors, which my child and myself stepped on. Air vent filled with carpet debris. The workers never mentioned any of these items to me when I walked through the house. I stumbled upon these items when putting my house back together. No wonder why *** offers free "moving" with installation; so no one can ask for a refund for poor service. I should have learned my lesson when I order hard wood flooring and Marc's installed it and damaged a vast majority of our baseboard and put holes in some of our walls. Only nice thing was that the carpet that "I" picked is very nice.

We were scheduled right away as soon as our carpet came in. They were on time, polite, and did a great job with the install. Our carpet looks perfect and they left absolutely no mess behind. Would definitely recommend.

Marc's Flooring Service DO NOT GO TO *** TO HAVE YOUR FLOORS INSTALLED!

DO NOT GO TO *** TO HAVE YOUR FLOORS INSTALLED! *** sent Marcs flooring to our house to do our floors. They messed up all the trim, did not level the floors out (which we payed for material for them to do so). They left without finishing the job saying they would give us a call and come back to complete it. They never called. We went up to *** 6 days straight until finally was directed to a manager to help us. A manager from *** flooring came out to look at what happened (never took any notes) was in an out under 5 minutes. We had to call Lowes again to see when they were coming to fix it. *** said that we would have to pay extra for new trim that Marcs messed up. We asked for a refund for the labor they charged for putting up the trim and for the carpet order we had. We will be going to a professional local flooring company who actually care about the work they do. I would rate this as zero stars if I could. Poor customer *** on both *** and Marcs. I hope this review helps someone not make the same mistake we did. Some times its best to spend a little more locally to get the job done right and with care.

Marks Flooring did a very good job with our installation. The men were very professional, friendly, and cleaned up the site well. A few more quarter round pieces still have to be delivered and installed and they insured us it will be taken care of.

Horrible timing. If they had a no star rating, I would rate them negatively! Their appearance to measure a small space is 3 hours delayed!

They were very professional with my installation. They made sure I was satisfied with every detail throughout my installation. I will one hundred percent use them again to do my kitchen floor. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who needs an installation on any type of floor.

The only reason I gave them one star is because the two gentlemen actually doing the work were very friendly, professional and did GREAT work. To start with, we bought and paid for the carpet through ***. We were told Marc's would contact us within a week to schedule a day and time to install it. After two weeks, we started calling them because we hadn't received anything from Marc's. We called for two weeks, almost daily, to only get a machine to leave a message. We left a message each time we called. We left three different phone numbers and two email addresses. Still nothing from Marc's. Finally, I left a message with the ComplaintsBoard.com and Marc's called about 30 minutes later. Marc's was trying to say they just got the message from *** and were trying to contact us. They were trying to blame us because "they didn't have a correct number." They then said they had an opening for us but it was more than a month away but if that wasn't good for us, it would be about two months before they could "fit us in." This has been one of the most UNPROFESSIONAL businesses I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Marc's

Marc's Flooring Service *** contracted Marc's flooring service (Kansas City branch) to do our carpet installation in May7 2021

contracted Marc's flooring service (Kansas City branch) to do our carpet installation in May7 2021. So far we have had the installers out twice to cut out floor vents and the gas key to the fireplace because they carpeted over them the first time, to fix seams that were never properly invisible to begin with, and to re-stretch carpet where there were waves/wrinkles in it. Worst of all, they put a seam on the top tread of our stairs leading to the second floor, exactly where you put your foot down. They have received a photo of this and I have demanded to know how they are going to fix it. At first I tried working through *** installation service, who was just a conveyor of the message, but now I have called *** flooring directly 4x in a week and and keep being told that I should be called "by the end of the day" but never am. Today (Monday 11/8) I tried calling again at 9:15 a.m. and the phone wasn't answered but went to a fast busy signal. I have yet to receive a resolution. If they have to buy more carpet they are going to have to buy a strip about 20 feet long just so they can cut a tiny piece about six inches wider to wrap properly around the stair tread. BEWARE.

Marc's Flooring Service We purchased the carpet through *** who contracted Marc's Flooring

We purchased the carpet through *** who contracted Marc's Flooring. We were replacing the dining room, a hallway and 2 sets of stairs. We received notice they were scheduled noon to 4 pm. They arrived at 2 pm and only the dining room table needed moved. They got to work right away. Based on the original message, I expected them to be finished around 6 pm. At 5 pm I noticed the van was gone and only 2 young gentlemen were working. One was videoing the other as he worked. Supervision was very much needed for these two guys. The job was far from being close to finish. I asked where the van was and where the other guys had gone. Communication was very difficult. They appeared not to understand what I was saying. Around 8 pm the gentlemen who appeared to be in charge came back and started to clean up. I asked where he had gone and he said he had another job. I inspected their job and noticed a black stain on one of the steps. He cleaned it. I asked why the job took 6 1/2 hours when it was scheduled for 4. He said there are a lot of stairs. This should not have been a surprise as it was their employee who did the measurements. Their cleanup was minimum at best. I will be spending today cleaning up their mess. I will not recommend this business to anyone.

Marc's Flooring Service We ordered flooring through a retailer and their contracted company was to install it

We ordered flooring through a retailer and their contracted company was to install it. We've had them booked since October '22, yet by January '23, the work isn't done. They measured and we ordered the flooring. Upon arrival, they reported excessive moisture in the subfloor. We wondered why this wasn't identified earlier to address it while awaiting the flooring. Over four months, they inspected the floor multiple times, each visit presenting a new installation barrier. They were to start on January 24 but then claimed a subfloor section needed replacement. I'm willing to replace it if necessary. The frustration lies in the prolonged process and their constant new reasons for not starting. We've received a refund from the retailer and will seek another installer to avoid the scheduling chaos.

Marc's Flooring Service In November, we chose to buy carpet for two rooms and stairs from a retailer, with a subcontractor for installation.

In November, we chose to buy carpet for two rooms and stairs from a retailer, with a subcontractor for installation. A staff member measured only the rooms initially, omitting the stairs. The initial quote didn't include the stairs, prompting us to request a revised one. This required another measurement. We paid and awaited installation on 1/21/22. During demolition, the installers realized the carpet was short for the stairs. Despite our insistence on covering all stairs, they claimed the order was for six. They reluctantly added padding to the bare stairs, leaving exposed nails. The retailer maintained the order was for six stairs, despite our clear communication. The oversight was only noted after unnecessary demolition. Resolving this has entailed numerous calls, with unhelpful comments from the retailer's staff. It's now 2/26/22, and we might get the carpet by 3/3/22. We've had dangerous exposed nails since January, which we've reported repeatedly. This ordeal has been incredibly frustrating.

Marc's Flooring Service This company never seems to answer the phone

This company never seems to answer the phone. I tried to return the initial phone call to schedule my carpet installation. It took more than half a dozen phone calls over the course of a week, and an equal number of increasing frustrated voicemails before I was finally contacted to schedule the install. I also purchased vinyl tile from Lowes where Marcs was the contractor for installation. Installation was scheduled for *** so I planned my week and work schedule accordingly and moved all furniture out of the way. On the Friday before install, I received both phone and text confirmation that the install would occur on Monday, with the installers arriving between *** a.m. On Monday, no installers showed up. At 11 a.m. I called the company and was told they would contact the installation manager to see what was going on. The installation manager would contact me in a few minutes. After waiting 25 minutes, I had not received a phone call back so I contacted the company again and got the answering machine. After leaving another voicemail, I was contacted 10 minutes later and told the installers were double booked and there would be no installation that day. The scheduler would call me soon to reschedule. I then had to call the scheduler myself later in the afternoon and told to wait 3 more weeks for install. I understand it was an honest mistake but the continued lack of communication is very aggravating.

Marc's Flooring Service Terrible!

Terrible! Dont let *** talk you into using them to install your carpet. Supposedly, according to ***, they are the only installers in ***. I had installation scheduled last January. They were supposed to come before noon. At 3:15 PM, I called to find out where they were and it was told to me that they went to another job first and would soon be at mine. They showed up after 6:00 PM. They said if they didnt install that night then they would have to reschedule about 3 weeks out. Well, Id already taken a day off work, so I asked them how long it would take. 2 hours, they said. I had already moved ALL of my furniture because they told me they couldnt touch antiques (even though I paid for them to move furniture). At 11:30 PM, they were finishing. I even hauled out the old carpet and pad and vacuumed to help them along so I could go to BED! They finally left close to midnight. The person sent earlier to measure, over measured for the installers, resulting in a 10x12 piece of carpet and pad ($600!) extra that wasnt even taken off the roll or out of the plastic. The installers told me to keep it because I paid for it and they couldnt take it back. Within 3 months, I had them back out to fix seams in the hallway. Fine. 10 months after the install, where the new carpet is seamed to my daughters bedroom carpet has come apart. I called for warranty work on Dec 15. The work order was placed. I followed up with *** several times because the company wouldnt answer the phone for me. They continued to email Marcs. FINALLY, with me on hold, *** got in touch with Marcs and Marcs scheduled to come out on Dec 29. I waited ALL DAY and they never showed up. No call to cancel, and when I called them, no one answers. I called *** again, and during this call, I spoke with a man from *** about all the trouble Id had recently and from the beginning. He was shocked and told me that all extra supplies should have been returned and credited to me because that wasnt my faultit was their measurements that were wrong. I was livid! Theyve cost me 2 days off work, $600.and they STILL HAVE NOT CALLED ME BACK to reschedule. *** said they cant go with anyone else according to the contract until they give Marcs due process to resolve this, but its about to the end of the time now that were upon 4 weeks. Im about to just pay for this service myself to make sure its done RIGHT. I will NEVER buy flooring products again at *** as long as Marcs is the installer. They need to CUT TIES.

Marc's Flooring Service Marcs flooring failed to correctly detail our flooring project for the installation of luxury vinyl plank flooring through ***

Marcs flooring failed to correctly detail our flooring project for the installation of luxury vinyl plank flooring through ***. They detailed the project to demo all inch hard wood flooring and replace with vinyl.What was discovered is laying vinyl onto the subflooring would have left inch or more gaps at front door, back door, two entrance doors to the deck, two coat closets, gaps at the entrance of three tiled bathrooms, as well as large gaps under the closet doors in the office, guest room and coat closets. This should have been obvious to the detailer who did the measure back in March .On the first day of installation, after the installers removed about half of the inch hardwood flooring asked what we were going to do about these gaps especially into the tiled areas. They and the installation manager agreed that the hard wood flooring did not need to be removed. They are afraid to speak up to Marcs Flooring management in fear of retaliation and losing their jobs. What should have been in the contract was demo of carpet, remove base boards, install inch OBS sheeting in the 3 rooms where there was carpeting, and install the vinyl floor product, replace baseboards.The project was stopped on 23 Aug 2021 after two hours into the project leaving *** the kitchen, pantry and living room area.The resolution Marcs offered on 24 Aug 2021 was to charge us approximately $5,500 ($2700 for 62 sheets of OBS) and $2,800 in labor for their incorrect detailing of the project.We found that unacceptable. The also incorrectly calculated the amount of OBS needed. Labor for the entire project is $8,648.52 for a five-day project which comes to $1,729.70 per day. $2,800 in labor is not fair calculation.On 25 Aug 2021, 8:22am, we received a second offer of: 47 sheets of plywood at *** a piece comes to $1,752.16, $2,052 in additional labor. Subtotal $3,816. Marcs Flooring still not taking any responsibility for their error in the first place and expecting us to pay for the flooring they removed. They were expecting us to cover the full cost of labor for the additional work of baseboard removal and reinstall that had they written the project correctly in the first place, additional work would not be required. Also, it is impossible to get in contact with any *** type person at Marcs Flooring. It is a voicemail merry-go-round. Thankfully, *** did get Marcs Flooring to a fair resolution for us. We paid for plywood in the carpeted rooms and some of the additional labor costs.

Marc's Flooring Service We did our flooring in 3 different sections

We did our flooring in 3 different sections. Everything ordered though ***. Section 1 (273 sq ft) of hardwood flooring went without any problems at all. Started at 7:30am and was done by 4pm. I was very happy with the crew and their professionalism. Section 2 (162 sq ft) of hardwood flooring went totally opposite from the 1st install. Second section wood was paid for on 10/2 I was not able to get anyone to install the wood flooring until 11/23. I was called by the installers at 8:16am letting me know that they where only 15 minutes away but did not arrived to my home until 9:23am. When they arrived they did not start the work right away one of the installers wanted to talk to me about being a former Marine (Big Marine flag flying outside). One installer kept picking up a broom and sweeping the same spot when he was not outside smoking (which he left his cigarettes butts in my yard) at about 6:30pm while my family and I was having dinner "the talkative" installer ask if it is okay for them to come back the next morning to finish up. I could not understand why it was taking so long when they had a total of (111 Sq ft) less than the 1st installers and it was in a straight hallway. This means I had to take an unscheduled day off work to be here to let them in to finish up what I do not think should have taken as long. Day 2 on Section 2 They arrived at my home at 7:45am and they where packing up and leaving at 10:30am. so it took a total of 10hrs to do less flooring. With installing the flooring they had to make some cuts to my baseboards and molding and the cuts that they made was very jagged and rough to the point I am going to have to change them are recut them myself. Section 3 (172 Sq ft) was piad for on 10/2 and I could not get anyone to install it until 11/30. The installer called me at 7:57am and arrived at 8:15am. Carpet installer did fast and professional work but he took a telephone junction box off the wall and upon him finishing the job he was just going to leave it on the floor and not reinstall it ( I watched him take it off) He told me that he did not know how and that I was to call his boss and that he would schedule with me on when someone can come out and fix it. So I call "Jim" and speak with him about the box and he seemed to have a very "I can't believe you calling me" attitude and told me that whenever his schedule was clear he would try to get with me. Also the carpet installer van leaked oil in my driveway that did not have any spots at all. I would not recommend Marks Flooring to anyone.
