Hi
I bought a gift card on 7 May 2024 from your store in Holborn. The card was in my house (only my husband and myself live in it). On Sunday 30 June I decided to order something on line from Marks and took out the card to use the same I scratched the pin and entered details but was informed that the balance was 0. I immediately called Marks and was informed that the card was used on June 22 somewhere in London. I informed the lady that I was not even aware of the city she mentioned and that the card had not left my home. She gave me a number to file a fraud case which I did on Monday and they gave me crime number asking me to give the same to Marks & Spencer and went to tell me that it was a lack of security measures on Marks part. I called back the number of Marks on the gift card to give them the number they refused to accept anything from me and I must tell you that your customer service staff need more empathy with clients over the phone. I then went the next day to your Holborn branch from where the gift card was bought with the gift card and the gift receipt. The Manager Tom said he would speak to HR and I should contact him later or the next day which I did and he said that Marks cannot do anything. Do you think this is fair? Is not Marks responsible for a gift card sold by them? Am I not entitled to get the £50 back. I would appreciate if this matter is investigated and my money returned.
I look forward to a reply.
Thank you
Nicola Blake
