MCNA Dental plan promised a Gift Card as a sign-up bonus. I enrolled 2 accounts with them, and received 2 gift cards in Jan 2022. Due to a system glitch, both cards were invalid. I repeatedly contacted MCNA for a resolution without success. On Jan 25th, 2022, they agreed to send replacements. After 30 days without receiving them, I inquired again and was told they were still processing. By Apr 13, 2022, MCNA stated they couldn't issue replacements. I questioned if they used the bonus to attract customers without intending to provide it. The representative confirmed and apologized, unable to assist further. This felt like a scam, wasting my time and causing stress. They should honor their commitment. The accounts in question are with MCNA.

My complaint is that you claim to have dental providers for oral dentistry and surgery, yet as a representative of United Healthcare, you fail to comply with the promised Medicaid benefits. The provider list on your website is inaccurate, offering no actual dentists or surgeons. Despite repeated attempts to obtain service, and your assurance that out-of-network options would be provided, you have not followed through. I've only received calls with no resolution, and the employee responsible only leaves messages without solving the issue. The final stance is a refusal to extend your contract in 2023, leading me to believe this insurance is fraudulent.

My daughter is a member of the *** MCNA dental program. Twice now *** has denied 2 separate claims sent by my daughter's primary provider to proceed with treatment. The first reason for denial was an "incorrect" tooth number on 2 separate teeth that need extractions. The dental provider submitted a new claim, and it was also denied because my daughter is in between a certain age range and needs a sealant on this tooth, and the dental radiographs are not labeled L or R, and they want a better x-ray. They are just wasting my time now, and it's apparent that they don't care for their members as they advertise. It's advertised on their website that extractions are covered when medically necessary, but that's a lie apparently. Why would a dentist apply sealant to a tooth with chunks missing out of it? That's insane. Also, I never received an ID card even after sitting on hold for 25 minutes, so I could request one, only to speak to someone with a heavy foreign accent that was difficult to understand. I want MCNA to stop wasting my time, approve the claims submitted, and offer the type of care they advertise. I think I will be filing a complaint with the *** as well.
