I have reached out to Miracle Ear and Synchrony. Synchrony said Miracle Ear will not budge. Here is the letter minus identifying information
I am writing to you today with intent to explain the unfortunate circumstances that have taken place and ask for the possibility of account forgiveness for an account holder under the advice of a representative from the Synchrony 800-644-8494 line. I was referred to reach out to them from the Miracle-Ear office in Mentor, OH. 440-974-8719
My father, owner of an Allegro account, is alive and has an outstanding balance of $3,490.20 for hearing aids that were purchased on May 7, 2021, for his wife, who deceased on August 13, 2024.
My father and I have made multiple attempts in reaching out to Miracle-Ear in hopes to find a resolution.
• My father called the Mentor, OH office on September 8, 2024, and spoke with Donna. She stated that he could not return them and there was nothing they could do.
• I called the Mentor, OH office on September 11, 2024, at 3:24 pm. I was transferred to the Medina, OH office, as they were taking the Mentor, OH office calls. I apologize, but I could not understand the name of the female I was speaking with. She stated that we could not return them, and they could not write off the balance or work with him in coming up with a solution. She suggested I call Synchrony Bank at 800-644-8494.
• I contacted a representative with Synchrony Bank on September 11, 2024, at 3:30 pm. I explained the situation. She suggested I call back to the Merchant as they should be able to assist. I told her what they had said, and she gave me the information to reach out to you by mail.
• I reached back out to Miracle-Ear, under advice of Synchrony, at the Mentor office at 440-974-8719 again on September 12, 2024, at 8:40 am and spoke with Donna. She stated they could not be returned and there was no assistance they could offer.
• I reached out to Cher with Miracle-Ear Corporate Office located at 150S 5th St. Suite 2300, Minneapolis, MN 55402, 800-241-1372 on September 12, 2024, at 8:37 am. I explained the situation and she stated I would need to reach out to Synchrony. I was told that they cannot be returned but could be donated, however they were not able to write off outstanding amount. I was also told it's like buying a car. They advised to call 1-800-644-8494.
My father is unable to afford the outstanding balance. This, amongst others, has created a financial hardship. I am asking that you would consider account forgiveness or consider working with him to come up with a solution during this difficult time.

Desired outcome: Would like the balance forgiven
