Solar panel contract
Had solar panels installed September 2022. Contract provided for additional home improvements (insulation , led lighting , window caulking) , a rebate of 1400.00 to use their bank to finance , a power guarantee that is under performing , and a 25 year warranty. All attempts ( phone , email and registered letters ) have gone unanswered. None of these contracted obligations have been fulfilled.

Tesla solar battery for my solar system
I purchased solar panels from Modern Mill with a solar loan back in September of 2021 with the understanding it would be installed in November. They installed it in December but did not connect it. I sat with newly purchased solar panels on my house for almost a year doing nothing. I called and called. They reimbursed me for 2 months of the solar loan but that was it. After that they stopped answering. Finally at the end of October of 2022 they got the solar panels working. However, they did not provide the Tesla battery that cost me $16,000. They told me in an e-mail around February of 2023 that they were expeirencing shortages and were working on my project as a priority. It is now May 2023 and I have not heard word since. This is ridiculous. I would have gone thorugh a different company if I knew this is how it would turn out. I'm getting ready to hire a lawyer and persue legal action.
Desired outcome: I need my Tesla battery installed. I think I've waited long enough. So far its been 18 months. If you cannot do this then you need to find a contracter that can.

Modern Mill Solar installed solar panels on my house in April, and the original contract also called for the installation of an energy storage system. I was informed at the time of the install that the energy storage system was on backorder, but that mine would be available around September. It was not installed then, and I was told it would be November. It was not installed then, and Modern Mill stopped communicating when I reached out to request a refund for the more than $16,000 in energy storage system that was not installed, and I was told my turn is now coming up in May. This wait has become past unacceptable. I've made payments, and interest payments, on a loan that was more than $16,000 larger than it needed to be.

modern mill installed solar panels on my roof on Nov. 8 2021.They ran wiring to my electric meter but not connected to the meter. Iwas told y there electrician at that time tat they did not have the correct meter to finish the hookup. I was toldit would be about a week to get the two way meter needed to finish the hooup.It is now over 5 months and still no meter or what ever is needed to finish the job. I have left numerous voice messages and text messages but get no response or call backs. on my fisrt call to there customer rep. i was told i would be reimbursed for the monthly payments of $78.00 while the panels are inoperative but have not received any payments or explanation of when tis might be finished.

I will skip through all the delays, poor customer service and lies on the original installation. I recently had some electrical work done at my home, my electrician noticed some of the wiring for the panels where not up to code. Upon further investigation, the main feed from my panels to the inverter are drastically undersized. I then revised my original quote to see that I was quoted for having #4 wire run from the panels to the inverter. #*** wire was used instead. Ive made several phone calls to modern mill solar and keep getting the run around. The last time I spoke with them, I was told they are waiting on a report on the power generated. That really doesnt matter with the fact that they installed wire that was not up to code.

I signed with Modern Mill in March . We were told the install for the solar panels would take 30 days but up to 3 months. After signing we heard nothing from Modern Mill until July. 1st red flag! They sent a completely different plan for the panels than what wed agreed to. Supposedly less panels with more power? Then we heard nothing again for months. FINALLY in mid November they came to install the system. They dropped the last panel putting it up and told us theyd return next day with a new panel. A month later they returned with the last panel. Their Electrician has been to our house at least 3 times since December but still has not hooked it up. The reasons why keep changing every time I contact them. And they started taking auto withdrawal payments out of my account in January! When I contacted the loan company they said MM submitted completion paperwork back in November! At this point its been almost a full year since signing with this scam company. Im so angry that I got suckered into this and Id like them to just come get their panels and leave me alone! I have no faith that even IF it were to finally be hooked up that it would actually work. I have no confidence in this company whatsoever.
We hired Modern Mill Solar to install a solar panel system to our private home on September 13. Their workers came to our home and installed the panels and wiring to the house in November . On December 2 we received an email from *** (handles loans for Modern Mill) via *** detailing our loan indicating that our loan payments begin 60 days after installment. We have started paying our monthly installments to the loan for the panels and installation fee.We have been waiting since installation in November for the inspection and activation of the solar panel system. We will soon be paying our third monthly loan payment without a working system. I have contacted Modern Mill via phone, text and email since installation with very little success since mid January to inquire about the inspection and activation. A Modern Mill representative told me that they were waiting on approval from Eau Claire County () for the inspection. I then received a letter from Eau Claire County on Thursday, March 3, 2022, stating that our photovoltaic system permit has been revoked due the master electrician and contractor informing them that they did not perform the work on our property. I then immediately contacted Modern Mill again via text message to the representative about this letter and this representative stated they would look into it. After hearing nothing back, I texted again to the representative that we need to hear back from their company (Modern Mill) about our system within 48 hours or we would be contacting your bureau. They did not reply. There has been no communication from Modern Mill Solar since then. Our solar system is to be connected to our energy cooperative where we could earn credit based on collected and unused electricity that would offset our bills. This is credit we are not able to be collecting this entire time because the system is not operational. We are paying both our electric bills AND loan for the system.

I have received my electric bill for the last three months one for 80 the next for 330.80 and the next for 282.52 this is outrageous i have called *** the reported to me that no solar power is going threw the grid or my meter. i have contacted the service people several times threw email phone calls and text with no response. I feel this could be resolved if they would answer or return my calls so i have no choice but to use what ever means necessary

I purchased a solar system from Modern Mill in February . The contract is for 22 solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall battery. The panels were installed and turned on in March . To date, I have not received the battery. I am also paying the same electric *** that I had before the installation of the panels.I have been in contact with Modern Mill about both issues since June. An audit was supposed to occur regarding the panels and the ***, but I've not gotten any results. I believe there might be an issue with the inverter or the switch.The battery is another issue. Per Modern Mill, Tesla has them on back order. I received notice that a battery was set aside for me in August, but it's now October and no appointment for install has been set, despite my repeated efforts to do so.

Pathetic, horrible, and unprecedented after-sales their salespeople falsely promised so many wonderful things, like 24*7 monitoring, best-in-class service just 1 phone call away, 110% workmanship quality, and product warranty. All lies and false to be seen after 2 years of my struggle. After install, everything is downhill from 2019. This project has become a nightmare project for me. My project solar panel was *** panel but when the actual solar panel showed up they were *** without any notification to the customer. When I called them on this I got the answer as per the contract they can use any solar panel equivalent to what was quoted so I let it go as ***. The site gets installed sometime in May . Unfortunately during the storm season, my roof had damage and the panel needed to be taken down, to get that scheduled it took multiple calls to the office, and the reason was they are not local and need to travel they were taking their own sweet time, while my roof replacement is stuck due to that.Finally, in September the panel removal was scheduled. When the team came to do this task I asked them to leave the solar panel at my location, they denied it and took the panel with them without any understanding of my request with full stubbornness. This is where my next nightmare starts with them. To get the panel installed back again it takes multiple calls and they take their own sweet time as they are not local. After all this 1 panel is already dead, and, I got tired of contacting Modern Mill solar so I thought to contact the manufacturer to find out about the solar panel, when I call *** solar they couldnt find the batch, and because they think this is their 1st panel manufactured somewhere in 2014 or 15. And if this is true this is pure cheating and a lie on part of Modern Mills that they sold me 2nd hand used panel for the cost of new. All I want is to get all my *** 2019 or later and comparable.

We purchased from Modern Mills Solar, located in an undisclosed city, approximately 4 years ago. Before we purchased, we knew we had to have a roof replaced in a few years. We mentioned this to the salesman, he replied, "that his company would come in, take them off, and reinstall at no cost." With that, we went ahead with the purchase. We trusted this salesman (big mistake) that this would be honored with the contract we signed. It is now time to replace the roof. We called the company which claims to be operational. The office in Royal Oak is closed and the only service is now in other locations. We were not informed that the business moved and they are still advertising the old office. The salesman no longer works for the company. Modern Mills Solar refuses to take off the panels and replace at no cost. We were told, "Unfortunately, it is not written in the contract". We were told that it is a special contract for business and not for residential. They want us to pay $6000.00 or find a different company. We would just like them to honor what was told to us by the salesman. We would not have put up the panels until after the new roof went on. We are so disappointed about this situation. Plus, we feel they are being dishonest by keeping the pretense of the old store as being in place. We were never notified of any changes or moves.

Talk about lack of CARE for people. This company has been *** h*** to work with. I've been thinking I may have to contact the Complaintsboard.com about this.I call and call and call, BOTH OFFICES and nobody answers. When they DO answer, I'm left on hold for a good *** minutes until I hang up. When they DO answer, I'm told they'll call me back. I wait a reasonable amount of time... days... and don't get a call back.I've got a system that does not currently function.The saleswoman I worked with, gave me misleading and totally false information. I was told that I would have enough power to cover the gas *** as well. Complete lie. And I guess she's fired or quit, according to the company. I'm a single mother who's been manipulated and taken advantage of by Modern Mill Solar.I signed contracts in July and was told everything would be done by as late as October. It's mid December. The inspector did not approve the system because the power was too high. Too many panels, now 6 need removal and I'm owed about what... 10k? Wouldn't surprise me if I get way less money than I know I'm owed. Or nothing. And don't forget the roofer that now has to come repair the damage.I was TOLD I'd get a reimbursement check for the 1st 18 months of payments when everything is approved and functional. My first payment begins January 18th, a month away and nothing is currently working. But ya'll still want me to pay, even without my reimbursement check, right? I've been in tears about this. Sick to my stomach.This is NOT OKAY WITH ME. This is irresponsible, negligent and disgusting. Nobody should be treated like this.

About 8 to 9 months ago I had Modern Mills Solar come out to my property and promise me a lot of really nice things. Of which were a new smart thermostat, all of my houses lights being retrofitted to LEDs, my window and door seals checked and repaired if needed, installation of static roof vents, the replacement of my current attic insulation, being completely independent of electrical consumption from ***, and being reimbursed any money I would have paid *** before building up enough solar credits to wain myself off of ***.Literally none of this has happened. The smart thermostat and LED lights I didnt care much about, because I had already installed a smart thermostat and retrofitted all of my lights to LEDs. Someone did show up to check my window and door seals. My girlfriend said they were here for about an hour, and all they did was insulate my water heater. Funnily enough, a month later my water heater started having problems. All of the error codes to my gas valve were on my water heater, so I had to remove the insulation. Then it turns out I needed a new water heater. I still have my original attic insulation and I still have the same static vents for my attic.6 to 7 months go by and I notice that Im not only paying the loan for the solar panels, but I am also paying money to *** for electricity usage. I call Modern Mill Solar on the phone and ask why this is. They inform me that its because I havent built up enough solar credits to go completely solar powered yet, and they recommended I would wait a few more months. Next month I see I am spending an obscene amount on electricity. I call again asking if they could check my solar panels to ensure they are working optimally. Im told to call *** about that problem.I call *** and I am told by one of their employees that I have a 3 kW system installed and by looking at my current electrical usage and solar panel production, that Ill never be fully independent of ***.
