I have had monarch utilities for water service for 5 years and had nothing but trouble with them. I wish there was an alternative, but for me there is not. Several times I would not receive a bill, then the next month I would be charged a late fee. So now if I don't receive a bill I send $100.00 to cover it. But the latest scam is they rejected my banks bill pay (I have been using bill pay for several years with no problem), and by the time I was aware of it, it was past the due date, so now I will be charged another late fee. Is there a number to call to file a complaint with the state of Texas ?

Oh I agree 100% I have been noticing they have been reading by 24 days, then 28, then 32. I have been marking the dates they read the bill ans it has been for the last 4 months each time the read it just barely goes over the 2, 000 gallon mark to get me for the next highest billing of amount of water since that is how hey charge over the flat fee of $40.00 per month. Then I was also being charge a flat fee of $60.00 a month for sewer. After being here n with my new land for 4 months, New fees are staring to pop up like a $10.00 usage fees of the amount of water going out with the sewer? WTF? I says this to as many people out there moving to a new place? AVOID Soutwest Monarch Utilities by ALL MEANS! I pay more for water and sewer each month then my land payment! I live in Quitman East TX. Especially if you are buying new land. Make sure they are not contracting you to where you MUST by law use them for water and sewer!

You can contact TCEQ- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. TCEQ is where they get their licensing and permits. Also the Better Business Bureau- www.bbb.org. You might also talk to the local Chamber of Commerce if they are members.

I had a bad water leak and called the water company the day i found the leak to let them know .now 2 months later they came and read my meter and charged me for all the water that ran down the ditch and when I call they tell me I was late on a couple of bills over 5 years of service and they cant give me any leak assistance because of being late on a couple of bills . I wish I could get water from some where else but they are the only one out here. We are with low water pressure and several times a year we are without water but we still have to pay the same on bill .they do not read the meter but every few months .the leak I had was at the end of July and was not charged till Sept. For the leak .when we call for the water not working they tell us no one has called and reported it and it is always a valve was messed up and they will get it fixed and follow up with us on it but never do .
