Customer Service manager was BEYOND RUDE
I’m here for a birthday party. The Caucasian manager was BEYOND RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL to all the people who paid for the party. When I say this lady was rude SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE! I bought a piece of pizza and she gave it to me COLD! She then started scolding the AFICAN AMERICAN workers saying don’t add any more extra minutes to the parties because she was sick of it. And one of them said I didn’t answer your for the parties that’s not my job. This was the most HORRIBLE experience EVER! She needs to be terminated!
Desired outcome: She need to refund us our ALL of money for not doing business and allowing us the extra time as promised.
Employees
I went to monkey joe's for my son to play and everything I wanted for our meal wasn't available so I went next door while my wife played with him and when I came back wasn't allowed past the door but my wife didn't see where it said no food when she went to pay because it's in small print I was told to take my son to eat in the vehicle and come back in and after being argued with about what I paid for and their terrible solution a manager or something shove me out the door with her shoulder and I called the cops and while I was walking away on the phone a family of 5 people walked in with arms full of bags and boxes of food and weren't even stopped. I didn't have the woman who shoved me arrested but my wife and child are still inside and I'm not allowed back in I'm having to sit in my hot vehicle. I'm the only white person in all of this every employee that was making me leave was black and the family they let in was black too. The police wanted me to ignore the race thing and wanted me to right a report for being shoved. I told them I would contact monkey joe's about the situation since the employees were aggressive towards me and appeared racist.
Desired outcome: To avoid going through court system
customer service
An employee ran after me from behind the counter, after I made a statement about the higher price and less inflatables. I wanted to know her name after she told me how they had new renovations, and I could look around to see, and if I wasnt happy then she didnt know what to tell me. Who talks to customers like that? When I said I was going to make an...

furniture and employees
My 9 month old son was sitting by the table in his high chair and a nail and screw fell from the table and right into his high chair, I jumped up to get it before he did but he already had it in his hand and was a millisecond off shoving it in his mouth! Had he done so, we would have been taking a trip to A&E. Very concerned I took it to a member of staff who's response was simply "oh, did it fall from the table or high chair" I said the table and she said "oh okay" I said well the table is wobbling now and I don't think it's safe. She just looked at me. No one came to check if we were okay, or on the table. No I'm sorry, nothing. Me and my friends/family go to this monkey joes ALL the time and I feel like never going back. I get that accidents happen but it's the response to the incident that counts! My son could have been seriously hurt!
not being open
The location at 4952 Centre Point Dr. in North Charleston, SC was supposed to open today (6/28/19) at 10:00 am. As of 10:40 am, the location was still not open, and we were told by an Associate there waiting that it would be at least 30 more minutes. That's ridiculous that a key holder is not there befor other workers. The workers that were on time should be paid for the time they got there, and the people waiting to go in like myself should get free admission for another time. My email address is [protected]@gmail.com.
the business
Monkey joes in tucker is the worst place to work or go to. The machines are always broken and the white maneger and owner are very rude! The teens that work there get no breaks at all they can't even sit down from what I seen it's very disappointing! The outside of the building doesn't even look like a fun kids place more like an abandon place. This place really needs to go out of business.
didn't provide items paid for in party package & over-priced
I had my daughter's 2nd birthday at the Copperfield location in Houston, TX on 9/16/17 only because my original venue was flooded. They were pricier and had less options than Funky Monkey, which my daughter loves to go to. No outside food or drinks are allowed, so I would expect to get what I paid for. Kids parties are pretty hectic, which is why I didn't realize everything they forgot to give me that I paid for in my package until the party was over. The girl who was handling my final bill at the counter was also very rude when I realized the missing items: the t-shirt, magnet frames for guests and ice cream. I was given the t-shirt and magnets after I signed the bill, but guests were gone by this point. Then, I asked what the additional $24.99 charge was for. It was the fruit tray that I was reluctant to pay for in the first place, which was not provided. The girl told me to hold on, she was clearly annoyed, and came back with a packaged fruit tray, which I told her I clearly didn't want anymore since the party was over. The drinks were not brought until the kids were almost done eating and they only brought half of the cups. The $15 medium pizza tasted like cardboard. There also was no staff monitoring the toddler area to keep the older kids out, and we had to shuffle the kids around several times to keep them from getting run over.
Safety complaint
About 3 weeks ago I visited the Monkey Joes in Pembroke Pines, Fl with my grandchildren. My daughter said she has been there at other times.
In the arcade area there are prizes that are VERY UNSAFE for small children.
You pay in advance and get a card to put in the machines. The children are attracted to the small plastic ducks. The eyes come out and can easily be swallowed by young children. I don't think the game says unsafe for children under '3' but anyway there might be an older sibling who might hand the duck to the younger child who could swallow the eye.
I wrote the company and they did not respond. When I tried calling the corporate office phone number I was told that the mail box was not set up!
what type of corporation is this?
Management
My son was working for monkey joes About a month ago one of the manager punch my son in the chest for no reason at all he complain to the owner they said they will take care and nothing got done After about a month he got fired and their reasons was the my son was not enthusiasts about the job when I know that my son loves to play with the children I never heard a so stupid reason for firings someone I did send an email and got no answer so far
Needs updating! Sanitizer dispensers were broken. Womens bathroom was nasty. Machine to purchase game cards wasn't working properly. Few games were out of order. Couple of the games we played ended short, waste of $$$! Monkey mascot didn't stay out long to greet kids and his costume was dirty! Kids had fun on bouncy houses of course but chances of me going there again are slim to none! I'd give this location a 2 out of 10.

Safety
We attended Monkey Joe's for the first time as an invite to a birthday party. The children seemed to enjoy the place until the injuries started. There is little control over children running throughout the building, and little control over children while they are in the bounce stations. When a parent attempts to intervene by entering a bounce station, they are told the policy of "no adults allowed". Did it occur to this company if the employees performed their jobs adequately, there would be no need for parents to intervene? I saw several employees pushing buckets to and from, but no one really able to take responsibility. The place is chaos. I believe in one three hour stay at Monkey Joes, I made three trips to the front desk for ice to aid either my own child, who was stepped on in the face by another child, or to assist a second child at the party due to an injury there was little concern by staff. None, to be exact. I would never, ever host my child's birthday party there due to multiple safety issues and lack of care by the staff. Never. You do not have the place to yourself (like Pump it Up) therefore your child could be competing with 100 other children to participate on the bounce stations during their party. Absolute disorganization.
Hi 1Parent45,

Bad service, rude Manager
My daughter ordered a single slice of pizza. It is usually brought right out. We inquired several times as to when it would be ready. We were told it was cooking.40 minutes later I asked to see a Manager. Rose was very unconcerned, just said there a lot of parties that day. I politely said perhaps the staff should be informed when there was a wait so the kids could go play instead of sitting at a table for 40 minutes. She turned around and got out a piece of pizza. I said " so that's been ready?" She said " no, I just brought it out." I said we'll there are already 3 slices missing." She said very defensively " I just brought it out, you got your pizza that we made just for her, there's nothing else I can do at this point." Bad customer relations. We wasted 40 minutes waiting at a place we had already spent 20$ to get in and 10$ on 2 kid's drinks and two slices for the kids.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Birthday Party
I am appalled and disgusted with the location in Orlando Florida at 9101 International Drive Orlando Florida 32819. I had been planning my son's birthday party for over a week now to celebrate it at Monkey Joe's. I had previously called and spoken with some of the staff to find out if it was okay to bring a cake and still buy pizza and refreshments from...

to the original poster: 1: Stop YELLING BY USING ALL CAPS. Please 2: Why do you have to say over and over about Dept of Labor, breaking the law, etc. etc. It appears you are not an observer, but either an employee or a close friend/relative of an employee that does not like their job. 3 - There are millions of people out of work. If you/they do not like this job, there are plenty standing in line that would love it. 4 - Sorry that you are so unhappy with life.

DID YOU THINK THERE'S ANY DIGNITY INVOLVED WHEN THE ESTABLISH'S NAME IS "MONKEY JOES"?
Was turned away when i have been there before
I have just moved here to Columbus, Ga and have taken my kids to monkey joes 2 times before this time. I have no family or friends and this time because i don't have anyone but me on the contact list they told me i couldn't bring my kids here anymore. It makes no sense to keep my kids from play because we don't have family or friends, thats why you go to monkey joes to get your kids to play with others. Lets just say some people like me like to be left alone and it shouldn't matter i'm sitting right there and if anything was to happen to me they wouldn't go to anyone anyway cause there still is no one to go to i don't have any family and friends. My kids cried for two hours thanks monkey joes for wasting my time and my gas money.

We took some of our girls from our troop there. I checked the websight before hand though to check on height limitss, because my daughter who is 11 is also 5'6". Nothing listed about Height or weight, just 12 or under. We got there, the girl placed bands on all of them, the the manager cut my daughters off saying she was too tall. Completely humiliated her in front of her friends. Then refused to give the other two mom's that we rode with, a refund. Oh sure..just make her sit there and watch her friends jump. Finally, another manager came over after all the tears and gave everyone a refund. We the. Went to chu, k e cheese where they don't discriminate!
MONKEY JOES ARE NOTHING BUT LIARS MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE...THEY ARE OPENING BETTER PLACES ALL THE TIME.THE WAY THEY TREAT THEIR WORKERS HERE IN FL IS HORRIBLE..LETTING THEM WORK FOR 8HRS STRAIGHT WITH ONLY 1/ 30 MIN BREAK...I AS AN ADULT WORK 8 HRS AND GET 2... 15MIN BREAKS AND 1...30MIN BREAK IF THAT BE THE SAME CASE WERE YOU ARE THE WORKERS ARE MOST LIKELY OVER WORK..AND WORKING FOR MIN WAGE..BUT THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BECAUSE THEY ARE KIDS..I AM SO SICK FROM SEEING THAT, THAT I CANT EVEN SPELL RITE..DONT TAKE OFFENSE TO IT..JUST FIND A BETTER PLACE TO GO..AND IM SURE THAT WONT BE TO HARD TO FIND..LOL..GOOD LUCK IN GA
Maltreatment and lies to customers
I had book a party over the phone at Monkey Joes Location in Fayetteville, and they lied to me about the prices. When I called today to verify all the information before Saturday March 6, the day of the party. They started giving me other information over the phone so I asked to speak to the manager. I told the manager that one of his employees had told me a different price than the one that they were giving me today. The manager called me a lier and told me that his employees have not done that. I told him that they did, and his answer was no that I was lying and he told me that for me to fix the problem I will have to get less pizza at the party and not to feed the adults. How could you treat customers like that first of all, how could you called them liers and then tell them how to save money by not feeding the adults. You do not fix issues like that and you do not yell at customers over the phone and talk to them with attitude. I do not want to host my little girl's birthday party in there but they would not give me my money back. So I will have to be there feeling all unhappy about the way they have treated me. I do not wish to be there but I have to because I have paid half percent of the total. How cn i be around them after the way I was treated?
i visited the greensboro location @ monkey joes and i was really discriminated :( My child insisted that i went up the pirate bounce house with her because she did not feel comfortable going by her self, we waited in line for the other kids to get their turn. There was a woman with her child in front of me looking to weigh about 150 and it was their turn to get on the bounce house, when iy was finally mine and my baby girls turn to get on the bounce house i was told i could not get on and was never given a reason to why i could not, the lady just told me to look at the sign which stated that PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO JUMP ON THE BOUNCE HOUSES BUT ARE ALLOWED TO ASSIST THEIR CHILDREN UP AN DOWN THEM! i want answers to why i was not allowed to go down with my child! is it maybe because i am overweight and i was discrimanated? i will be considering talking to a laywer about this because she embarrased me in front of alot of people that were there also waiting to go up the slide with their children. i calmly left because i was upset and crying... never did i think that i would be critisized in public by a childrens "fun place"/ "bounce house"
I had the opportunity to visit Monkey Joes in Raleigh on Monday 2-10-14. Upon arriving at 6:10 there was no pizza nor popcorn available to buy. Nor was I told they were closing at 7pm, but had to pay full price for a 45 minute stay. The staff was very rude and several times kept announcing they are closing at 7...but that was after my son who has special needs had just begun enjoying himself. First of all whatever the menu states you all serve should have been available til closing. This was not our first visit however maybe the last. Looking to hear back from you ASAP.
I am so angry that I did not research this company before I scheduled my 3yr old Grandson's birthday with this franchise! They are very dishonest, guilty of the "bait&switch" tactic and they don't even attempt to accomodate their customers complaints/concerns! I called the location at 9061 Watson Rd., St. Louis, MO, on Monday, 25 Dec; explained to the female answering the phone that I wanted to schedule a party on Friday, 29 Nov; explained that I would not be in town until Wednesday, 27 Nov; she did explain that she could not officially reserve the party until a deposit was paid, but that there were absolutely no parties scheduled for Friday, we'd have no problems paying the deposit that morning and that the cost would be $160 for 16 kids. We had never heard or been to Monkey Joes, so, we had absolutely no idea of any pricing or packages, and the info provided by the femaie worker was the first and only pricing we had to rely on. Of course, when we arrived for the party, we were told by "Sam" that she gave us incorrect info and that the party would actually be $229 and for only 8 kids, instead of $160 for 16 kids. The package also included 1 pizza instead of 2, as we were originally told by the female worker. I argued w/Sam that none of that was our fault and he should honor the package and pricing that we were told when we called to schedule the party. He refused, so, instead of disappointing my Grandson and all the kids we invited, we ended up paying a total of $292.46 for a 3yr old party. Sam refused to accomodate us w/complimentary pizzas/drinks or anything at all, which I KNOW is extremely poor customer service. I URGE anyone that contacts this company to find out who you are talking to and after that, talk directly to a manager to validate the first conversation; otherwise, you will be on this site complaining like the rest of us. I AGREE W/THE COMPLAINTAINT - SHOULD'VE AND WILL GO TO PUMP IT UP FROM NOW ON!
We took our 2 kids to Monkey Joe's today in Richmond, Virginia, and it will be the last time as far as I am concerned. No one told us that they have a no re-entry policy. We spent $19 for 2 kids to go in to play. After 40 minutes of play my 10 year old son with Autism was not feeling well...very red-faced, hot, and out of breath. Furthermore, his leg had BLOOD running all down it badly where he had been scratching a bug bite. This scared him, and he was getting impatient to leave. Since I had never been to Monkey Joe's before, I asked the front desk what we needed to do to come back later if the kids wanted to and we were told that they have a zero re-entry policy. I explained that my son has Autism, that he was getting worked up and needing a break, and most importantly that he was BLEEDING BADLY. We were not even offered a band aid and simply told sorry, once you go out the door you cannot return. I let them know how ridiculous their policy was and how we will definitely not be returning. We had on wrist bands and a paid receipt so it isn't like we were going to sneak someone else back in our place. I should add that I know of no similar place that has such a policy. For example, Pump It Up is extremely customer friendly and very gracious. Better pricing too. Convenient that both of Monkey Joe's water fountains are taped up and not working properly since they require concessions to be purchased on site. I am going to be letting all families with special needs children know how we were treated, and I may well dispute this charge with my credit card company. I would encourage parents to patronize more customer, family friendly places where adults are allowed and encouraged to play on the equipment with their children and where re-entry the same day is no problem at all.
Yesterday we was at Monkey Joes in Lexington Kentucky. this is the only kids place to play in Lexington that will not keep the air at a temperature of comfort . EVERYONE in there was swinging handmade paper fans bc it was so hot. a hundred people complained bc stood close to the counter. the manager did nothing. I wonder if she was told to do this by the owners to SAVE on the electric bill. At any day, anytime, if you go to Chuckey Cheese, Kids Place, Bounce U, and Gatti Town. its 100% guarantee the air will be on and the temperature will be nice even though its packed and kids are playing. Monkey Joes in Lexington I know is losing many customers bc kids moms and dads do not want to sweat and be miserable for hours indoors.
I have maid 2 complaints via the Monkey Joes website, and NEVER got a phone call, post-card, NOTHING! I had the same issues, involving incorrect prices, and calling me a liar at the Fayetteville location. I am shocked at how Monkey Joes does not care about their customers and believe they will eventually pay for their diservice. I am sharing my views with friends and family, and am in the process of getting my story out on the local news. Good luck "MONEY" Joes!
Monkey Joes is a scam! For the prices they charge for Pizza and Hot Dogs etc., you could shop for a week's worth the groceries for a kid. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of hard working American parents who are only trying to entertain their children with a little fun.
Thank you for sharing your concern. At Monkey Joe’s, our top priority is providing an excellent customer experience and we apologize for the negative experience that you had with our Fayetteville location. We have outreached to this local owner regarding your concern and if you could provide your contact information to monkjoes@gmail.com, we are happy to follow up and address any questions you may have. Thank you, Monkey Joe’s corporate office.
