In two words, Montway delivered!
In two words, Montway delivered! I needed my car to be picked up on an exact specific date because of complicated arrangements for an interstate move from an undisclosed location to an undisclosed location. The customer service representative was great and gave me an instant quote. I told him that I needed a guaranteed pickup date, and he said they can do that for 30% extra cost, which I was happy to pay for as I know how it is complicated to "guarantee" a date in the trucking industry. I booked immediately over the phone. I was anxious and concerned after reading many auto transport delay stories on the internet. However, Montway was up to the task. 24 hours before the pick-up date I got a call from the truck driver they dispatched, and only then did they charge my credit card as they told me. The driver gave me a time window from which I can choose the exact time I wanted him to come to my place. At the exact time and date, he arrived and picked up my car. 48 hours later, as promised, I got the car at the door of my new address! I also got frequent calls from the driver during the transit period to give me updates about the ETA. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality service I got from Montway. The customer service people are wonderful and they don't pressure the customer to book until certain about the specifics of their transport. More importantly, Montway is a company that you can rely on if you want your car transported on a specific date, and I know not all companies fulfill such promises. The driver they contracted was phenomenal in how professional, communicative, and detail-oriented he was. I would recommend Montway to anyone who wants quality service for auto transport. I will definitely use their service in the future if I needed to transport my car!
Communication was extremely poor throughout the entire process
Communication was extremely poor throughout the entire process. Both the buyer and seller experienced a lack of responsiveness from the first point of contact, with phone calls and emails going unanswered. To make matters worse, the promises made were not fulfilled. The buyer paid an additional $475 for extra parts, but instead received a trailer with another car inside. This caused a threat of leaving the parts behind. Additionally, the car that was shipped was not running, despite not being asked about its condition beforehand. The buyer had to pay extra for a winch for the trailer. After numerous phone calls between Texas and Indiana, the actual shipper loaded most of the spare parts into their pickup truck. This caused significant inconvenience for the sellers, who had to take time off work and arrange for additional help. There were instances where communication was misleading, such as being told the car would arrive in three hours when it hadn't even been picked up in Texas yet. Both the buyer and seller sent pictures of the parts and car to Montway, but they were never shown to the shipper. Previous experiences with Montway had been problem-free, but this time they owe the buyer $475 for the whole trailer that was not received due to picking up another vehicle before theirs. There is evidence in the form of emails that clearly demonstrate being lied to, including false claims made in Montway's advertisement sheet about no down payment, when in reality a 20% down payment was charged. The buyer plans to report these false advertisements to the ComplaintsBoard.com of Illinois. They are seeking further assistance from someone higher up in the organization and encourage anyone who has experienced similar issues to reach out to them.
Everything went exactly the way it was promised. I highly recommend this company.
I've had terrible experiences with other auto transport services in the past, but this went really smoothly: the car was picked up within a couple of days of initial contact, and dropped off another couple of days later, all in one piece! This was not the cheapest offer, but it was worth every penny, as you get what you pay for. Thank you for a job well done!
Best customer service setting up the transport. Communication was excellent during pick up and drop off. I would highly recommend MONTWAY to anyone! Pick up and drop off from one location to another in 24 hours. Amazing job!
Very friendly, and professional people at this company. Two thumbs up!
The process was incredibly easy and straightforward
The process was incredibly easy and straightforward. I had great communication with the Montway Representatives, who handled everything for me. My vehicle was being shipped overseas, and they provided me with an exact timeline for when to expect it at the final destination. They even scheduled the pickup of my vehicle, which made the handover to the transport driver seamless. The truck driver conducted an inspection, filled out the bill of lading, and gave me a copy. Additionally, my vehicle was insured for $100,000 at no extra cost. It arrived at the port on the other side of the US on time and was loaded onto the boat as scheduled. Surprisingly, it arrived at its final destination four days earlier than expected. The only issue was that it was a bit dusty from being stored, but otherwise, it was in the same condition as when it was delivered. I highly recommend Montway if you need to ship a vehicle anywhere. This was my first time shipping a vehicle as a non-military individual, and Montway provided the same level of service that I was accustomed to. I had contacted other transport companies before choosing Montway, and some of them would only get the vehicle to the port, leaving me responsible for coordinating the sea transport. Additionally, if I couldn't be present at the port to inspect the vehicle, I would have had to pay for an additional service or hope for the best upon receiving it. Montway took care of all of this by having professionals at the port who inspected the vehicle and ensured that there were no additional damages. The staff was professional, the customer service was exceptional, and the price was fair considering all the services they provided.
I was charged a deposit but completely unaware it was non refundable.I called and canceled transport as job I was heading to fell apart.Ive made multiple calls and they are unwilling to refund my deposit.Im unable to obtain number to corporate office to discuss.
Montway was very helpful and handled everything very well. This was my first car shipping experience and everyone I dealt with was professional. My car arrived as promised, very close to the delivery address, great service!
I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this company when trying to transport my car from CA to NJ
I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this company when trying to transport my car from CA to NJ. They were unresponsive and provided little to no communication throughout the entire process. The pick-up was confusing and felt like a scam, and they missed the delivery window. Montway, the company I hired, was not helpful at all. I made numerous calls and live chat requests for information, but never received any callbacks. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they kept pushing me off and only sent me an email acknowledging my request. To make matters worse, I was told by Montway that my car would be delivered by noon the next day, which was two days later than the original window. When I called Montway again to inquire about the whereabouts of my car, they couldn't provide any answers. Frustrated, I called the trucking company directly and explained what I had been told, but the person I spoke to just laughed because the truck was still broken. They couldn't give me a definite timeline for delivery and said they needed a part, which might arrive tomorrow or maybe next week. I was incredibly stressed and genuinely concerned that my car would be stolen or lost. I asked where my car was being held, and they told me it was about an hour away from a family member in PA. I then asked if I could go and pick it up myself, and that's what I ended up doing. It's worth mentioning that I arranged all of this while waiting for a call back from Montway, which never happened. After going through all of this drama and finally having my car in my possession, I called Montway to request some sort of discount for all the trouble, especially considering that my car was not delivered to the intended state. However, they refused to offer any discount because I hadn't spoken to a supervisor first, even though I had tried to. I had arranged the pick-up using the dispatch number they provided, so I assumed they were the same company, but apparently not. It was an absolute nightmare and I had no peace of mind throughout the entire process. As I write this review, I received a call from them saying they are now "considering" a discount and will let me know, but I haven't received a call back yet. If I do, I will update this review accordingly. I also want to mention that this was my second delivery with them, and the first one went smoothly and without any issues. So, be warned that if anything goes wrong, you may find yourself in the same situation of being left in the dark with no information like I was.
One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with is Montway Auto Transport
One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with is Montway Auto Transport. In January 2022, I entered into a contract with them, and they provided me with a fixed price. They assured me that my vehicle would be picked up sometime between March 25, 2022 and March 30, 2022 (no later than the 30th) for transportation to PA, with delivery expected around April 1, 2022. According to the agreement, they were supposed to notify me 24 hours in advance with the pickup date, time, and location. However, starting on the 25th, I did not receive any notification. I made numerous calls to them over the next four days, speaking to various staff members, including managers. Finally, on the 29th, they informed me that I would have to pay an additional $199.00. I questioned the reason for the extra fee, but they failed to provide a satisfactory explanation. Despite having already booked my airline ticket and being desperate to get my vehicle back, I reluctantly agreed to pay the additional charge. On the morning of the 30th, they scheduled a trucker to pick up my vehicle between 2:30 and 3PM. However, the trucker never showed up and did not even bother to contact me. When I reached out to them, they informed me that the trucker's transport vehicle had experienced brake failure, preventing him from transporting my vehicle on the 30th. I asked Montway to find another transporter to pick up my vehicle, but they offered no assistance and claimed there was nothing they could do. I was left stranded and had to forfeit my non-refundable airline ticket. Additionally, I incurred extra expenses for hotels, food, fuel, etc., as I had to drive the vehicle back myself. I also had to fly my son down to *** to help with the driving, as my family believed it was unsafe for a 76-year-old widow to make such a long journey alone. The lack of customer service, concern, and unethical practices of this company, not to mention the immense stress it caused, is truly incomprehensible. I would strongly advise against using this company and would never recommend them to anyone. This experience has been so terrible that I feel compelled to write this review and give them the lowest possible rating. Avoid them at all costs unless you are prepared to be left stranded.
I will begin by stating that my car was picked up on the scheduled date and delivered to the address without any apparent damage
I will begin by stating that my car was picked up on the scheduled date and delivered to the address without any apparent damage. However, I am giving a low rating due to the lack of communication between Montway, the contracted drivers, and myself as the customer. I primarily blame Montway for this lack of communication. Additionally, both of the drivers were somewhat rude.
Montway was very communicative when they were trying to secure me as a customer and obtain my credit card number. However, their communication declined afterwards. They failed to send a dispatch with the contractor information. The first driver called me unexpectedly to inform me that he was on his way to transport my car to an unknown location. Initially, I was confused because my car was supposed to be transported to Texas. I assumed that he was only one part of the transport, but I had to contact Montway to get more information and the dispatch with the contact information. I had no idea who was coming to pick up my car. The same situation occurred for the second leg of the transport. We received a random phone call from the driver stating that he was on his way. I had no idea that my car had been picked up from . Neither Montway nor the driver contacted me. Once again, I had to call Montway to get the dispatch and arrange for someone to be at the house to accept the car because I had not received any advanced notice.
Lastly, Montway should inform customers that the drivers may not be able to pick up the car at the assigned address due to the size of the truck or trailer. In my opinion, it is a reasonable request to find a safe place for the pick-up. When my car was shipped to *** in 2012 by a different company, the driver had no issues delivering it to my address. However, with Montway, I had to move my car for the first driver. The second driver outright refused to even attempt to deliver to the specific address. I know for a fact that he could have delivered to the house because the streets are wide enough and we have seen car transport trailers in the neighborhood over the years. In the future, I will use a different transport company.
I made a reservation with Montway Auto Transport for guaranteed pick-up on March 30, 2022, and paid an additional $250 for this service
I made a reservation with Montway Auto Transport for guaranteed pick-up on March 30, 2022, and paid an additional $250 for this service. According to their information, I was supposed to receive a call on either March 23 or 24 to confirm the details of the pick-up. However, I never received that call, so I decided to contact them on March 28. They assured me that someone would reach out to me, but unfortunately, no one did. On the morning of March 30, the scheduled pick-up day, I called Montway again. They informed me that the car would be picked up by noon, but that didn't happen. Later, I received a text message stating that a driver would arrive in two hours, but no driver showed up. Frustrated, I called Montway once more at 4:30 PM. They promised that a driver would contact me within approximately 10 minutes. True to their word, a driver called me about 10 minutes later, but he informed me that his truck had broken down. I explained to him that I needed my car to be picked up that day, but he abruptly ended the call. I immediately contacted Montway again and was placed on hold for an extended period of time. Eventually, they informed me that someone would come between 6:30 and 7 PM. However, instead of a truck to transport my car from [location] back to Pennsylvania, a tow truck arrived. Additionally, I never received the Bill of Lading, which I was instructed to request. Montway assured me that I would receive a call or email from [company] to keep me updated on the status of my car, but I never received any communication from them. I had to continuously call Montway, but they provided no useful information. Finally, after contacting them again, I discovered that my car was picked up on Monday, April 4, and I would receive it on Wednesday, April 6. Despite paying for guaranteed pick-up, my car didn't leave [location] until five days later, and I didn't receive it until a week later. To make matters worse, when I received my car, the under-body shield was found in the back seat. Replacing it would cost over $1,000. Additionally, I was supposed to receive the Bill of Lading upon delivery, but the driver claimed not to understand English and shrugged his shoulders when I showed him the under-body shield. This entire experience was absolutely terrible! I would strongly advise against using Montway for anyone in need of auto transport services.
This company is extremely terrible in every aspect
This company is extremely terrible in every aspect. The communication is absolutely awful, and none of the employees I spoke with showed any concern for my dissatisfaction. I had scheduled my car to be picked up on 8/3, but on either 8/3 or 8/4 (I can't recall the exact date), I received a call stating that a driver had accepted my pickup but would only be able to pick it up on 8/9 and deliver it on 8/10. There was no mention of a possible pickup around 8/9. The person I spoke with explicitly stated that the pickup would be on 8/9 and delivery on 8/10. I also received an email with the same wording. If there was any uncertainty, it would have been professional to inform the customer directly about the situation instead of assuming that everyone knows what's happening and that there will be delays. Moving on, I was given these dates, and my card was charged on 8/4. However, when 8/9 arrived, my pickup suddenly didn't happen. Throughout the entire week, I received various excuses for the delay of my car, and this company was just holding onto my money. Frustrated, on 8/11, I requested a cancellation and refund. Just 20 minutes after making the request, I received an email confirming the cancellation, but then a dispatcher called me, conveniently stating that the driver was on the way to pick up my car. At this point, the company was supposed to have canceled my order (as per their email) and I had also sent them an email requesting cancellation and a refund. Naturally, I expressed my anger to the dispatcher about their handling of the situation, but reluctantly accepted the pickup. Then, to my disbelief, they replied to my cancellation email as if nothing was wrong, saying something like, "Oh, it seems you've accepted the pickup! No need to cancel your order now!" This company is absolutely the worst and deceitful. I strongly advise staying away from them!
Montway Auto Transport is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with
Montway Auto Transport is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are incredibly unprofessional, extremely incompetent, and show no regard for their customers. On March 20th, I made a reservation with Montway to transport my car from SoCal to Milwaukee. I decided to go with their more expensive quote because they promised a pickup window of five days, which was shorter than what other companies offered. As the first pickup date of April 15th approached, I hadn't heard anything from the company, but I remained hopeful that they would contact me soon. When I finally called Montway towards the end of the pickup window, all they could tell me was, "we are working on it." This vague response continued for several days until they informed me that they couldn't transport my car for the agreed-upon price and I would have to pay an additional 10%. Despite their claims that it was not their fault and that gas prices had increased (even though the average gallon of gas had actually dropped 20c/gal during that time), I reluctantly agreed to pay the extra amount because I needed my car for work. Eventually, they managed to find a driver and my car was picked up on April 27th, one day later than originally scheduled. The delivery was supposed to take place between the 29th and 30th, but that didn't happen. The driver kept changing the delivery date, first to May 6th and finally delivering my car on May 7th, a whopping 10 days after pickup and 22 days after it became available. To make matters worse, the driver called me just 20 minutes before the delivery to inform me that he couldn't deliver to my location and I would have to meet him instead. He claimed that it was impossible for him to have notified me earlier, which seemed highly unlikely. Montway's sales team lures customers in with quotes they can't fulfill, knowing that most people are stuck with them because they can't afford to make last-minute arrangements with another company. Given my experience, I would rather fly back to where my car is and drive it across the country than ever ship with Montway again.
Montway is the worst car transportation company I have ever dealt with
Montway is the worst car transportation company I have ever dealt with. I would give them zero stars if I could. They completely failed to deliver my car according to the agreed-upon terms. Instead, they dropped it off at a towing yard that was not authorized, and then refused to pay the additional storage fees that accumulated. The pick-up date was supposed to be on July 8th, but they didn't pick up my car until July 14th. On July 17th, I informed the driver that I wouldn't be available on July 22nd to receive the vehicle. The driver confirmed that he would deliver it on July 20th or 21st. However, on July ***, he informed me that he couldn't deliver it until July 22nd. I once again told him that I wouldn't be available. We agreed that he would leave my car in the driveway with the keys hidden somewhere. However, on July 22nd, the driver didn't follow our agreement and dropped off the car at a towing facility called *** towing and transportation without my authorization or the towing company's knowledge. The owner of the towing company had no idea where the car came from and had to contact Montway for clarification. There were multiple email exchanges between the towing company owner and Montway, but Montway's customer service refused to take responsibility for the situation or arrange for the car to be delivered to the correct address. Both the towing company owner and I requested that Montway cover the expenses to have the car delivered to the proper address, but Montway insisted that I pay for the additional fees myself. On top of all this, the broker that Montway used, "*** Automotive" out of *** was incredibly unprofessional and even called me a liar regarding our agreement. I have never experienced such terrible customer service. The broker told me that once I paid the remaining balance via Venmo, they would deliver the car from the towing company to the correct address. However, after I made the payment, they failed to deliver the car and instead told me to take an Uber to the towing company to retrieve it myself. I reported this to Montway, but they did nothing to resolve the issue. In the end, I had to personally go and pick up my car, paying an extra $520 on top of the agreed-upon pricing terms with Montway. I will never use this company again, and I strongly advise others to avoid them as well.
This was not the experience I was expecting, especially for the price I paid
This was not the experience I was expecting, especially for the price I paid. Montway's process started out easy enough, we settled on price and approximate pickup/dropoff time. They couldn't give specifics, but said the driver assigned to my vehicle would be in touch to go over the details. The trucking company/driver assigned to my car never called to discuss a pickup time or location (I paid for door-to-door, so I assumed they were just coming to the location of the vehicle). After calling the driver several times, I finally reached him and he gave me a pickup timeframe of late morning/early afternoon, but said he would call the day of to give a more specific time. That day came, and I never received a call from the driver, and after trying to call several times, I finally reached out to Montway who explained that he must have just hit traffic. By the time the driver finally contacted my pickup location contact (my sister), he told her he would be there around 4:15PM. 30 minutes prior to the meeting time, the driver called back and said he wouldn't be able to get his truck onto the pickup location street, so he needed to meet at another location. My sister gave him the location of a large parking lot nearby and he said that would work. After being another 30 minutes late of the scheduled meeting time, the driver called again and said the 2nd meeting location wouldn't work either, so they'd have to meet at a 3rd location. Finally, my sister met up with the driver (at 5:30PM) and handed over the keys. As soon as she got home, the driver called her and said she needed to come back with a car and jumper cables because one of the other cars he was transporting (not my car) would not start, so he couldn't load my car onto the truck. My sister felt coerced to do it since he said there was no way he could take the car if he couldn't get the other one started.
Worst vehicle shipping experience I've ever had
Worst vehicle shipping experience I've ever had. I paid $1700 to have my BMW M3 shipped from the pickup location to the destination with guaranteed pickup and delivery dates, using a closed carrier. Initially, I was hopeful because of their positive reviews and efficient quote and scheduling process. However, the trouble began three days after pickup when I received a call informing me that my vehicle would be delivered in the evening at the destination. I had already confirmed multiple times with Montway that I wouldn't be in town until four days later and had even paid extra for delayed delivery. The dispatcher I spoke to on the phone seemed indifferent and insisted that the truck had to drop off the vehicle by the next morning at the latest. This caused me to panic, as the dispatcher didn't offer any alternatives, and I was prepared to drive overnight or fly on short notice to pick up my car. Frustrated, I called Montway HQ for assistance, but I ended up waiting on hold for an extended period of time, which only added to my disappointment. This experience ruined my evening, and the lack of concern or communication from Montway was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, when I arrived at the storage lot (which was 30 minutes away from my new home, so much for door-to-door service), I found my car parked outside in a muddy storage lot, exposed to the rain. This was the complete opposite of what I expected after paying $1700 for closed carrier delivery. Additionally, the Montway driver had forgotten my key in his truck after dropping off the car, which meant I had to wait for another three hours at the lot until he returned with my key. It was a truly frustrating experience. Although the car was delivered in good condition, I noticed that the odometer had an additional 3 miles. While this may not seem significant to some, it is unacceptable for more than 1 mile to be added to a car during a 'door-to-door' shipment. I deeply regret choosing Montway and would never recommend them to anyone who values their car, sanity, and hard-earned money.
I debated whether to give Montway one star, but ultimately chose to give them two stars because they did put forth some effort
I debated whether to give Montway one star, but ultimately chose to give them two stars because they did put forth some effort. I want to share my experience for others who are considering shipping their car. I was aware that Montway is a broker and that the actual company responsible for delivering my car did a great job. However, I have an issue with Montway's claim of being transparent. I initially requested a quote to ship my daughter's car from the east coast to the west coast, and I was quoted $1659. I agreed to this price and signed a contract.
On the sixth day from my requested pick-up date, I received an urgent message from Montway asking me to contact them. They informed me that they had found a carrier, but the cost would be $490 more than the original quote. I argued that I had a signed contract for $1659, but they insisted that the carrier was asking for more money due to low demand. They threatened to start the search for a carrier all over again, which they claimed would take "weeks," and there was no guarantee that I would get the original price. Feeling like I had no other choice, I reluctantly agreed to pay the higher amount. This situation left my daughter in California without her car while it was stuck in Massachusetts.
After more arguing and multiple phone conversations, Montway agreed to take $100 off the increased price. The car was eventually picked up, and I was told it would take *** days for delivery. However, on the eleventh day, I received a phone call informing me that the car had just left Massachusetts. This meant that it had been sitting somewhere for eleven days before being shipped. We finally received the car seven days later, along with many other cars on the carrier.
Once the car was delivered, I began the process of trying to get back the remaining $390 due to the original contract I had signed. However, Montway repeatedly claimed that the contract was "transparent" and stated that the cost was only an estimate. I carefully read the contract six times, and it did not mention anything about the price being an estimate. I was frustrated and felt taken advantage of. Why would a contract be signed if it doesn't guarantee the quoted price? Eventually, I was able to negotiate an additional $100 refund, but I am still very unhappy with the overall experience. It is important to know that the price quoted is only an estimate, and there is a possibility of having to pay more.
This vendor provided the worst experience I've ever had
This vendor provided the worst experience I've ever had. They falsely claimed to have expertise in picking up and shipping vehicles. My vehicle arrived at the port on August 2nd, and I contacted Montway on August 9th. They initially informed me that it would take 5 business days for pick up from the port. I specifically mentioned the reported brake issue during unloading, and they assured me it wouldn't be a problem as long as the emergency brake worked. The first driver was assigned on August 12th but canceled on August 15th because he failed to make an appointment, likely due to the broker's failure to notify him of the procedure. This made me question their experience with the shippers. The second driver was assigned on August 18th, but the pick-up failed on August 23rd because the trucker was unaware of the brake issues, despite me informing Montway about it on August 9th. The trucker's vehicle was also not equipped to load my car. Meanwhile, I was already incurring storage fees from the shipping company due to the delay. Additionally, both pick-up attempts resulted in calls asking for an extra $120+, which they refused to waive even though they were causing me financial losses. I later discovered that Montway never requested the trucker's name to be added, making it impossible for them to retrieve the car. This is something a company in this industry should be aware of. I requested a refund, which I received. The only positive aspect of my experience with Montway was getting my refund. On the same day as the last cancellation from Montway, I contacted another company, and my vehicle was picked up within two days without any issues. This demonstrates their competence.
I'm disappointed to be writing this review because my initial experience with this company was satisfactory
I'm disappointed to be writing this review because my initial experience with this company was satisfactory. As a medical professional who frequently travels for work, I needed my car transported across the country for my new assignment. I called the company six days before my start date at the hospital, received a quote, and was informed that I would be notified once a driver was assigned to me. At the time of the quote, I was advised to confirm the booking as rates increase daily, so I did. Before flying across the country, I contacted the company again and was reassured that they were searching for a driver in my area. However, upon reaching my destination and reaching out to the company once more, I received conflicting information compared to my initial conversation. Despite speaking with multiple individuals, including supervisors, I was informed that the quote I had been given was no longer valid due to drivers demanding additional payment for the journey. They explained that it was peak season, gas prices were rising, and drivers were requesting more money. I fail to understand how any of these factors are my responsibility. The agent who took my call and made the booking was aware of the peak season and provided the quote without mentioning any difficulties in finding a driver at that price. I encountered several individuals at the company who seemed unable to comprehend my perspective - that I wanted to pay the originally "locked" in rate and that I was stranded across the country with my vehicle and belongings. If I had been aware of the current circumstances they are now presenting to me, I would have chosen to drive myself. However, I trusted their word. I don't seek sympathy, but rather empathy. Put yourself in my shoes - how would you feel if you placed your trust in a company that quoted you a "locked" in rate, advertised "no hidden fees" on their website, claimed to prioritize customer care, but then asked you to pay an extra $400 because the driver complained about gas prices?
comes and goes, and still no sign of *** or my car
comes and goes, and still no sign of *** or my car. I call him again and he finally picks up, but he sounds groggy and says he overslept. He promises to be in Melbourne by 12pm. By this point, I am beyond frustrated and angry with the lack of professionalism and reliability from both Montway and LL *** Auto Transport. Finally, at around 2pm, *** shows up with my car. It is a relief to finally have my vehicle, but the whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I would never recommend Montway or LL *** Auto Transport to anyone. Their lack of communication, constant delays, and blaming others for their own mistakes is completely unacceptable. Save yourself the headache and find a different auto transport company.

I made a reservation for a car pickup two months in advance, with the understanding that the car would be picked up before I left town. However, the night before my departure, I received a notification stating that there were no available drivers. Frustrated with this situation, I decided to contact a competing company, and within 12 hours, they were able to arrange a pickup for me. During the pickup, the driver mentioned that there were indeed available drivers, but it seemed like Montway was trying to negotiate lower rates with them, potentially leaving me stranded.
I was deceived into booking with this company because they continued to send me emails even after I had made the booking
I was deceived into booking with this company because they continued to send me emails even after I had made the booking. These emails contained instructions stating that I could bring personal items weighing up to 100lbs. However, the current instructions are different and contradict what was previously stated. This led me to believe that I could transport personal items weighing up to 100lbs in my car. Unfortunately, this turned out to be false when they sent me a completely different set of instructions, which left me feeling frustrated. As a result, I now have to spend thousands of dollars to ship my items separately to an undisclosed location. The lack of understanding from the company and the intentionally confusing responses from multiple employees have only added to my frustration. I paid over $2500 for this service, only to be lied to and treated poorly.

I decided to go with Montway because they provided me with a much quicker delivery timeline compared to other companies I spoke to. Although it was more expensive at $1550, I needed my car to be shipped promptly, so I chose them. Today is the evening of 06 July, and my car was supposed to be delivered between 27 and 29 June, which was 7 to 9 days ago. My car was picked up on 22 June, making it 14 days since then. The drive from the pickup location to the destination usually takes 4 days.
The most concerning issue is that Montway has no information about the whereabouts of my car. They have lost track of it and claim to be waiting for updates from the carrier. This has been going on for the past 8 days. Montway has stated that the quoted delivery timeline is only an estimate and they do not provide a guarantee for a specific delivery date. However, the representative I booked with initially assured me that the delivery would take 5 to 6 days. They have no knowledge of when or if my car will be delivered. I have been reaching out to Montway daily for updates, as they do not proactively provide any information. Furthermore, they have no intention of refunding any portion of the payment I made because they do not "guarantee" anything.
In hindsight, it would have been both cheaper and significantly faster for me to fly back and drive my car myself, even considering the expenses of hotels and gas along the way. Montway deceived me in order to secure my business. They initially appeared responsible and trustworthy, but they are now refusing to take any responsibility for their failed promises.

I used Montway to transport my new car from an undisclosed location to California
I used Montway to transport my new car from an undisclosed location to California. Unfortunately, during the transport, my vehicle was damaged due to the trucking company losing a wheel, which caused damage to the hood, precollision system, and cosmetic features. Montway informed me about the damage on 2/13 and advised me to contact the trucking company for more information. They provided me with a phone number, but despite my numerous attempts, I was unable to reach anyone or receive an update. Frustrated, I reached out to Montway, specifically to ***, for updates, but I did not receive the promised updates. My car remained in an auto body shop in *** for a week, and throughout that time, I consistently asked *** for updates and requested photographs. I also asked for phone calls from the *** at Montway, as I had paid a significant amount for the shipment and had to spend an additional $770 on a rental car while waiting for my car to be delivered. Despite being told that my car would ship on 2/17, I never received any updates. The next trucking company Montway arranged also had a damaged trailer and was unable to pick up my car. I left multiple voicemails and made several calls to claims (*** and ***), but I did not receive any response for a week. Finally, my car was picked up on 2/20 and delivered on 2/21. Due to the delayed delivery and poor communication from Montway, I requested reimbursement for the shipment. The extended time my car spent in the shop has complicated the claims process, and I believe Montway's negligence has caused my car to depreciate in value.

I am extremely disappointed with both Montway and the carrier for the following reasons: 1. Montway increased their price after the agreement/contract and after waiting for over a week without receiving any updates on the shipping process. 2. After agreeing to the additional charge (approximately 30%!), the pick-up of the car was delayed. 3. The estimated delivery time was supposed to be on 8/25 or 8/26, but there was no communication from either Montway or the shipping company. On 8/25, I tried calling the shipping company for an update, but was unsuccessful. After multiple attempts, I finally reached someone who informed me that the shipping was delayed and the car would arrive on 8/27 or 8/28. However, there were still no updates or phone calls from either party during this time. I made several attempts to contact the shipping company to get a time frame, but was unable to reach anyone. Montway eventually managed to contact the shipping company and at 5pm on 8/28, they asked if it would be possible for the car to be delivered between 11pm and midnight that same night. Due to an approaching hurricane scheduled to pass by on 8/29, I agreed to the delivery in the dark and had someone waiting at the drop-off location from 10:30pm to 12:45am. However, there was no delivery and no phone call, and neither Montway nor the shipping company could be reached. The next morning, on 8/29, I began trying to contact either of them starting at 6am. Finally, at 8am, I was able to reach Montway. They attempted to contact the shipping company and called me back at 8:45am, stating that the delivery had been delayed for unknown reasons and would arrive around 11am. As you can imagine, the delivery did not happen again. I called Montway multiple times for an update and finally, at 1:45pm, the truck arrived in heavy rain and storm to deliver the car. I will never use them again and would like a refund as I had to pay my employees to sit there all night waiting for a delivery that never occurred.

Excellent Service. Better than on time, my vehicle traveled cross country and arrived hours earlier than expected.
In constant contact with driver. Our driver was fantastic. Car was picked up and delivered in a timely manner.
Their high review rating is undoubtedly purchased. It's inconceivable for them to maintain such a high rating given the poor service. These individuals are incapable of finding someone to pick up my car for more than two weeks. They offer nothing but useless excuses daily.
They were very *** and friendly. I loved how they kept me informed every step of the way about my car. It was a smooth transition. :)
