After 35 years as a member, I discovered how downhill AAA has gone
I've been a member of AAA since 1989 for their roadside assistance. I've rarely used the service but I'm not a car guy so I like knowing I can call them. I had a good experience 18 month ago when my battery died. They came out, replaced it with one with a 3-year warranty (plus 3 years of prorated).
HOWEVER yesterday that experience all changed. My car broke down so I called them. Their automated attendant promised under an hour for a tow--not terrible. Except it was, they sent me a link to track the truck... it didn't move for 45 minutes. Then when it did, it went to the wrong city. I called back but could not navigate AAA’s automated system. I just kept watching the truck go to the wrong place. So, I entered a new call request (which they counted against me) until over 3 hours later, a truck finally came. Of course, by that time it was too late for the mechanic to work on it.
Now today they won’t honor the warranty on that battery—yes, the one I thought was a good deal to have them replace. They now claim I have to be there for them to replace it. I called repeatedly and finally worked my way through the automated phone system—which is really good at making sure you can’t talk to a human. Figured, finally, someone with a brain rather than a program… we can figure out a way to make this work. I’ll head over the mechanic once they have a battery guy there. NOPE, I have to go there, then open a new case (which again they are counting against my allowed service calls) and wait up to 2 hours. I even asked where was this condition in the paperwork? Oh it’s not there. We just tell you this AFTER your purchase and we refuse to honor the warranty. The $200 I spent on that battery will be the last money AAA ever gets from me and anyone I can warn!

Deceptive advertisement lured me to create an account online. I was needing a tow for 33 mile distance, and therefore elected to purchase Plus account that show cover tows within 100 miles. With the understanding that a $100 non-refundable service fee will be applied. After talking to a representative I was advise that benefit is only for 7 mile distance and $10 per mile afterwards.

Roadside service
Timeline of the device. 1/1/2023. The call centers for battery service. 1 call I bought a new battery. With less 2mo. Battery dead. Call back to AAA. They sent me another. I had to post a retro charge. dead batt again. Of course the service checks the system reach time same results. The last battery is good. 5/9/2023. truck broke down on a hill. Called the AAA service. I've lost all power in truck. The driver calls. And asked. Where I was. I'm sick with Chrons. Foot mashing brake. He starts arguing with me. And no show. 5/10/2023. AAA @4am tow was happening. Nope letters come 1mo later threatening adverse action. Of me paying again. Cancelling my account and nobody is here to help me I'm handicapped in my hands don't work that good cuz of the Crohn's and I have a life-saving operation on the 23rd of this month and you guys want to cancel me on the 22 minutes and talk about stressing me out I need you to help otherwise the litigations coming down

AAA Membership - specifically towing department
I contacted AAA member services roadside assistance on 5-31-23. Explained my whole situation which was (in short) my car was unsafe to drive and the closest dealership to work on it is almost 2 hours away. My Grandmpther had had just passed away and I was trying to figure out how to handle the funeral and my broken car. The employee I spoke to that day was very kind and helpful. He informed me they could schedule to have the vehicle towed there and even towed back but it would be 2 claims on my membership but I had two left and would be covered. The tow was setup for 6-1-23 between 630 am and 730 am. At 630 am I got a call from College Towing who was being used by AAA saying they would be there no later than 815 am. They didn't arrive until 930 am making the car late to its appointment putting service back by a day. I needed the rental car on Saturday but AAA doesn't work with any rental services in my area that are open on weekends so I couldn't get a rental. Today 6-6-23; I called to get it towed back home as it's ready now. I was told, who I spoke to misinformed me. And basically, they won't help. This is outrageous, now I am stuck with my car 2 hours away because their employee was wrong.
Desired outcome: Payment of lost wages to get off work and payment for cost to get to Santa Barbara unless they resolve and pick up my vehicle by tomorrow 6-7-23.
Car insurances
The latter part of May around 24th or 25th. I Teresa Warrick applied for car insurances with Monique Ingram station in Texas. At the time I was asked to get a Declaration Letter only. I stated I would forward her a copy. On Sunday, May 28th 2023, Monique called me needing another document, Letter of Experience. Which I was not aware of and I told her I would call and get it.
This is my complaint Monique called State Auto pretended, she was me on May 30th 2023. My Agent asked her to verify my information with e-mail address, phone number and my last 4 social, because Joe knew me personally. She was not able to give my social and the called was ended. I then asked for Monique, supervisor to call me and I just received that phone call today May 31, 2023 at 3:00pm. I asked her supervisor, Leslie Hamilton to transfer my insurance to another branch, because I did not feel comfortable give Monique the sell. She said no. So at this point I would have to start over with another agent and the price would be higher. Leslie Hamilton

Every time I call I get a message stating that they are busy had to leave a message and they will go back. Several calls and several weeks later still no call back and my car is not insured at this point because I cannot get a hold of them to update my insurance. This is absolutely unbelievable that they can carry insurance and not have any customer service to update your policy

A tow was no more than $50 for 10 miles they are suppose to give me 5 miles free and wanted me to pay $42.thats fraud even when they said it was $6 a mile after the first 5 miles.2nd person I called in roadside was very rude,she kept talking over me repeatedly so I call a third in membership to see about a refund to cancel services and they will not refund me and since my may membership I have not used them.ripping people off.i called 4 times and not one would work with me
