Mr Cooper intently and willfully mislead homeowners during the Cares Act period/Pandemic with regards to deferrals as an option at the end of forbearance periods. Their agents call you periodically to “check on you” and ask if you need more time and make you think that a deferral is available! I specifically stated “I am only interested in a deferral at the end and NOT A LOAN MOD”, to which their agent stated test that is an option. Then towards the end I could not get a hold of ANYONE AT MR COOPER! at the tail end of the forbearance period in September 2021, After calling for weeks trying to get a hold of my “dedicated loan specialist” I could not get a representative on the phone! I was finally told she no longer worked there…. I demanded a manager and again nothing.. This went on for over a week, letting time waste. They purposely avoid calls and intently string homeowners along, lie, waited until after the Cares Act ended to drop the bomb that they only want a LUMP Sum payment. They have agents that pass you along to other completely useless and ignorant agents and then the day I screamed, cursed and demanded to be escalated and try and resolve the balance they put a male on who aggressively stated I had to pay the lump sum OR be put into foreclosure! I finally got a manager who also could not give me answers or even a legit payment plan-I requested she pull the calls since they tell you they are “recorded” and she lied about the calls. These thugs have no shame and blatantly lie and set up homeowners for potential failure just to steal their properties. They know exactly how to train their agents to mislead, lie, and with intent to foreclose. They purposely let time erode because they know how to let the timelines run until you have no options. They are the worst of the worst you could ever entounter and cannot trust anything they say and they refuse to put anything in writing. I wonder why? Their website contains false and misleading information regarding your loan and is different from what they tell you “ on the phone” and they acknowledge that they do not know why it’s different.

They need to be held responsible for their fraudulent acts and willful distress they have placed on so many homeowners.

One day they will each pay the price for their actions because their recent lawsuits have not taught them to clean up their acts. They need another HARD slap from the feds and Elizabeth Warren

Their acts are criminal and should be dealt with ASAP. If you have been affected in the same way PLEASE FILE COMPLAINTS WITH THE CFPB AND EVERY STATE AGENCY!

Desired outcome: I want the deferral I was told was available. Your agents purposely, willfully and intently mislead me /that is not “ assistance” that’s called premeditated fraud

This is currently happening to me. Apparently with Mr Cooper their was a mis-understanding to Pay the full forbearance amount or have to get a modification. They sold my mortgage to Shellpoint and this company is worse than Mr. Cooper. Shellpoint hey have a computer call and when you answer they hang up. They keep sending an application packet saying they need information but the packet states no tell you. I was told today I didn't need to fill it out. When I finally get ahold of someone they say they need some paperwork they were missing and I immediate send it, but never receive a call back. Then I call again and now they need something else but they never call to let you know.

Definitely a shady company with complaints hundreds of the same complaints to the BBB.

I agree, they are low-life thieves and I will be dancing around on the day they go Bankrupt. They deserve to Lose Everything.

They stole from me and I will continue to tell the world and I would love to sue them. I still have all of my paperwork to come after them.

This is happening to me now! They guaranteed the forbearance payment would be deferred till the end of the loan. Now they say, I am not eligible because I have a special type of loan and the investor does not except this deferment payment at the end of the loan. I have to pay in full or refi the loan. They tell me my loan is not with Mr Cooper but another investor that they don't know who they are. They said they will do a search. But when they offered me this covid relief deal, they said none of this but guaranteed me the end of loan balloon payment. They are lying, con artists. Now I don't know what to do.

This is exactly what is happening to me. Seems to be a systemic and programmed scenario from them. I am currently trying to get my payments unpaused from forebearance after Mr Cooper stated that my forebearance actually ended December 2021 and not June 2022. I only get one choice rom them which is loan modification, and i'm guessing at a higher rate. The loan mod difference from my original loan extends my mortgage ten years with a $100K but an initial $40k profit for mr copper.

YES! I eventually managed to resolve this by refusing the modification, borrowing from a friend to bring myself current, over 10 hours of phone call, which I RECORDED MYSELF, a grant of over $4,000 from cares act funds being lost, mishandled and eventually correctly applied after threats of legal action. It seems that the threat of being reported for misuse of federal funds is what sis the trick. But, I still have the recordings and they show clear and undeniable misrepresentation on the part of customer service and loss mitigation and whatever the heck department Frank Ferdinand is in, I can't believe they continue to get away with this after beig sanction for these exact same taxes by ALL STATES
