vinyl and rug product, install, customer service
Shoddy quality of work, bad quality product, and unhelpful customer service. They subcontract out to random guys that don't have accountability and aren't invested. They're in and out asap. The guys have to get the work done as fast as they possibly can. The rugs they put in were cut short so that they are shedding because the ends are not properly tucked in at the edges. The stairway rug was cut so that there are seams on every tread. The vinyl kitchen floor transition from floor to rug was done with a piece of vinyl that they tried to glue down with small dots of glue very 12 inches, between two raised areas under the vinyl. The glue sank between the two raised areas and never touched the floor to glue the transition piece down and it was sliding all over and leaving glue smears on my floor and rug! I spent a whole afternoon fixing it when all they should have done in the first place was pull off the two raised areas and then put enough glue. And the transition piece was cut right in the middle of the floor where the highest foot traffic is. When I called customer service to complain they wanted pictures. When I told them I had to fix it and pictures would only show my work they said "well you didn't have to fix it."... What jerks.
Yes, I had to fix it otherwise I would have been tracking glue all over my rug. Do not use national floors direct! I'm sorry I did. Next time i'll me calling someone local or empire.
customer service 800 floors direct
Horrible unprofessional company . Unclear invoices and bad communication with customer service. Very difficult to communicate and get a clear understandable answer.
No one was able to explain my purchases of product I had installed . Also, I had given a deposit that was overlooked then told they would credit me through the finance Dept and that is still pending after 5 days .
flooring
I had my floors done last summer. After the contractors left, I noticed there was an area where the floor looked as though it was rising up like a mountain, where it should be flat. I called and spoke to the manager, samantha. She said it was due to the humidity and would correct it self after the hot weather passes. I covered the area with a rug and let it go for awhile, believing what she had told me. When I discovered that it had not corrected itself, as was told, I called an spoke to a woman and she said the warranty time period had passed. I explained what samantha had told me ( to basically wait until the winter, which was well past the warranty period). I asked for samantha and the woman said she was not there, so I asked for a manager and was told samanatha was the manager and there was no one above her, but the owner, who does not speak to customers. They only accept money orders, no personal checks or credit cards. Now I see why. I honestly don't understand how they are still in business.the customer service is worse than the service.Any interaction, I had acted professionally, yet the customer service interaction with samantha, and anyone else for that matter, made me feel like I was dealing with a gum chewing high school dropout.
installation of floors
National Direct was paid to install flooring in my 3 bedroom home. They failed to give materials that i paid for and is owed to me, the job was horrible, floors are popping out (after less than 24 hrs of installation) nails has physical cut the bottom of my feet while walking on my floors, the finishing is horrible. After calling customer service, the customer service manager was very nasty, refused to address my issues, when asked to speak to another manager he told me I'm not able to speak with anyone else and hung up the phone on me (this happened 3times) please check recorded lines.. The floors are not what i ordered- very thin and of poor quality. I need help, i have information national that the flooring is not compatible with radiant heated floors, so this problem is only going to ger worst, everything is falling apart. Regardless of multiple phone calls and failed promises that they are going to fix this i have gotten no help. The flooring is cracked, separating and is of poor quality
horrible customer service
Do not trust this company! Horrible experience and customer service. Their sales representative rushed through the order and 2 stairs were left out, plus he misrepresented what cleaning would be done before the new floor was put down. When I called to have the order fixed and informed them, I was told by their customer service that I should have gotten it in writing. So they know their sales reps will say anything to close the deal and can't be trusted! To top it all off, a significant amount of cash disappeared during the installation and all they said was they'll do an inquiry but they expect it will be denied. No care or concern for how they treat people.
carpet installation
I would never do business with them again and will tell anyone and everyone I know to not use them. From other reviews I have NOW read, I am not alone in my experience. Their customer service team including management level employees are rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, not helpful and harass you. I have never had a worse customer service experience in my life and I am in my mid 50's. Next they have a ploy to swindle you at the 9th hour when you are stuck and have no option but to pay them more money. Upon arriving for install, it was determined within a few minutes that I had to pay extra for moving my furniture and if I didn't go get a bank check or cash immediately they would have the installers leave my home. My furniture was described as excessive, heavy and old which apparently doesn't align with their wording of "normal" and "light" written in the contract even though we removed all drawers and had just normal bedroom bureaus in the rooms. No one could explain to me why I was being charged extra other than the installers pictures that were reviewed by some installation manager that I couldn't talk to. I also wasn't able to talk to the sales guy who told us the furniture would be fine. I was told its not their fault I didn't understand the words in the contract.
After taking work off with my fiancée and moving 5 rooms of furniture and belongings, we had no choice but to pay the extra so they would do the job on the day planned. Despite 5 different conversations with customer service and the sales support team, my understanding and feedback on the issue was not resolved. I was talked down to, threatened and harassed. Excuses were made. Lies were told. I have never experienced anything like this and at the end, I don't care if the carpet came out ok and was done in one day as it was not worth what I went through. They should be ashamed of their business practice. I spent thousands of dollars for new carpet and labor and they treated me inhumanely. I just hope no one who is in a worse financial position than I ever ends up over a barrel like I was. And it wasn't the amount of the extra money they charged me that was the issue, it was how they communicated and behaved.
carpeting done on my stairs.
Carpet installation 11/17/2018. December 2018 contacted them about carpet fraying at seams. Sent them pics as requested. Received a call after sending numerous emails and was told the approved the repairs and I would be contacted for them to come and repair. They want be to sign a ridiculous waiver. Outrageous! Carpet is crap abs work done unacceptable
unprofessional company, terrible installers, rip off company
I waited over two weeks to have my floor install and when the installers showed up they told me a certain section of my room was not covered in the quote and got me quite upset. After calling the company they informed the installers that I had paid for the section to be done in my quote. They do not take credit cards which is ridiculous who does not take credit cards. I had to pay in full even though they did not finish my room because they ran out of material. They told me they would have to order and come back to install Monday through Friday. Not on a weekend like they had come to begin with. I had them mail the material and had someone finish the install even though it was paid for. I tried calling the salesman because of this terrible situation and was told that he would get back to me. The floor was not the color that I had ordered and nobody wanted to resolve the issue. Think twice before going to this company they are a rip off. Price too high quality not there, service terrible. The salesman called me back and told me that I would have to deal directly with the company that there was nothing he could do.
deposit refund after cancellation
I had a sales rep come to my home September 22. Felt pressured and gave a 1288.00 deposit. I was told I had 3 days to cancell. I called and cancelled Sunday the 23rd via phone call, called again on the 24th and was told the order was cancelled and my refund would be sent once it cleared. I called again on the 28th and was told I had a credit and no refund would be given. If I had a problem with that to call Monday between 8am and 4pm. I just got off the phone with a "Manager" and was basically hung up on. He stated they dont take verbal cancellations, that I had to certify mail the cancellation (which I never received the form from the sales man). Not one person ever told me when I called that I had to mail in a certified letter. This is an experience I have never ever experienced before. The Manager's there are rude and unhelpful...the customer service reps are uninformed and each one gives different "Policy" information. Not anywhere in my paperwork does it state the cancellation has to be mailed. I have records of my phone calls and will be contacting the attorney general's office, Better Business Burea and local news media. You should be ashamed of the way you conduct business ! My campaign will not be a positive one for NFD
hardwood floors
This is the worst company to deal with. I've dealt with many companies and use to work in customer service and this company are a bunch of scam artists with no integrity. I signed a contract for hardwood floors and it specifically states everything I signed in the contract and that i have concrete floors and it was going to be nailed in with plywood according to my sales rep when we signed and when they came to the house the day of install they wouldnt do it because they said it can't be done. Now they won't allow me to cancel my order and they are forcing me to buy an engineered hardwood product which i dont want. I want the real hardwood floors as per my contract not the engineered. THey are an incompetent company top to bottom from sales reps and supervisors and they won't give me my money back unless I buy some other type of flooring which i don't want! Absolutely ridiculous. If they couldnt do hardwood floors in the first place why would they even allow me sign the contract lol this is a complete scam of a company and they have no integrity or pride. They are willing to lose a customer for $1500. NEver again and buyer beware. Don't trust this company!
carpet installation
Horrible customer service. One contact number which is basically a pool of people trying to juggle service needs (inefficiently). No accountability from anyone, including the salesperson. BE CAREFUL...I do not trust their ability to provide the service they claim. They do not appear to have ANY control over the installation service. Failed on first and second day to arrive and install as advised after having been given 8 days to arrange my installation date. Excuse after excuse while my home is ripped apart and personal time taken at work to accommodate installers who never show.
Carpet and vinyl flooring
WORST COMPANY EVER!
Here is letter just sent to their Customer Service Manager, Cliff Dubois
And to add to the misery, after leaving out house in shambles, their carpet installers filled out their Customer Satisfactory Report themselves, giving them a glowing report and FORGING MY SIGNATURE!
Dear Mr Dubois,
I am writing as a follow up to our horrendous experience with you and National Floors Direct. I'm a 60 year old successful, self employed woman and in all by years of doing business, I have NEVER experienced a company as reprehensible, unprofessional and poorly managed as NFD. This culminated in our final terrible experience of yesterday, August 10, 2018, when the last of the vinyl flooring was to be installed. I was told by both you, Elizabeth Madigan and Brian Simone, that the bathroom tile would be removed before the vinyl was installed, only to learn on the day of installation that your installers were told to put the vinyl on top of the existing tile. I have remodeled and built several homes in my life and there has never been an instance where vinyl was put over existing tile, which is why I chose to refuse the work. You pointed out some fine print in the contract to cover yourselves on this point. You further went on to offer to have the tile removed before installing the vinyl for an additional fee... an offer that was promptly refused and it was supposed to be included in the original order.
Secondly, the quarter round trim for the living room stairs that was ordered by Brian Simone was not the same color as the vinyl. Rather, it was white and looked ridiculous. Your response was basically. "tough luck sucker!" When it was pointed out to you that it was a matter of aesthetics, your response was that flooring has nothing to do with "aesthetics"
Mr. Dubois, to point out the very obvious, the flooring that we have in our homes has EVERYTHING to do with aesthetics otherwise we would just have dirt or plywood for our floors. At no time was I informed that the quarter round trim for the stairs would be of a different color than the stairs. When I brought this to the attention of Ms. Madigan, I was informed that we could order matching quarter round for an additional fee. Again, this offer was refused as it was a bait and switch of the worst kind.
Going forward, I will do everything in my power to let people know about the deceptive business practices of National Floors Direct. Additonally, we pursuing legal recourse for compensation for the abysmal experience we have had with this company.
Everyone involved in this company is complicit in lying and cheating their customers. These shameful people seem to take pleasure in ripping people off. Beware of National Floors Direct!
So sorry to hear that yet another family is having to deal with this shameless, unethical company. They are despicable people! How they continue to operate in this manner is mind boggling. Be warned people... stay away from National Floors Direct!
I can’t believe this company can operate this way without consequences. They accept no responsibility and Cliff Dubois is the worst CUSTOMER SERVICE manager I have ever had to work with. They set you up to pay more on the simplest of jobs, holding your deposit as ransom. Like speaking with a robot. Heartless and unethical to the extreme. How do they sleep at night!?
I just found your post when searching the same National Floors Direct Employees that I am struggling with currently. Brian Simone pulled the same thing with us, we were paying more to have our existing floors removed. I'm dealing with trying to have repair work done on the horrific installation. Had I not posted online photos of the job, it's likely they would not have responded to me. They confirmed they would arrive with materials to redo the job this morning and to do full prep. Poor subs showed for an "inspection". Without going too far, and after many calls and issues they fully inspected. We need the bathroom floor fully reinstalled and all molding replaced and done properly and all transitions fixed or replaced, some planks replaced. They also used white molding on our stained brown woodwork. I ended up painting our entire kitchen and mudroom. I'm exhausted and still have to allow them to come back a third time. Each time, tearing our home completely apart, disconnecting utilities (gas/water lines/toilet), taking time off of work and from my family, etc. Brian Simone is a complete LIAR & FRAUD. How is the company able to continue to legally operate?
flooring installation
To whomever will listen at National Floors Direct,
I am writing in regard to our current disastrous experience with National Floors Direct at my parents' home. On July 6, 2018, my sister and I met with and placed an order with your sales representative, Brian Simone, for carpet and vinyl. We were given an installation date of July 23, 2018 and were told that the installation would be done in three to four consecutive days. On the day of the installation, I was called and told the carpet installation had been moved to Weds, July 25th. We are renovating the house and I don't live there, so our contractor let the installers in when they arrived late in the day. He then left them to work and close up the house. The next day when I went to the house, I found that the carpet HAD been installed in the bedrooms but not the stairs and the vinyl work had been partially completed. I also found the house in complete and utter disarray...furnuture had been stacked and thrown anywhere and everywhere. The old backing to the existing carpet spread dust and residue through the entire house including the walls. The installers even used to toilet and failed to flush their excrement! It was DISGUSTING! I have attached pictures that don't come close to showing the extent of mess that was left. To add insult to injury, I found a copy of your Customer Satisfaction Checklist that had been filled out and SIGNED with a glowing report! No one was there to sign it yet your installers took it upon themselves to do so? I've included a photo of that as well. I was also told by customer service that someone told the installers that we didn't like how the carpeting on the floating stairs looked because the backing showed through so they didn't do the installation. There was NO ONE at the house during the installation so this was a total fabrication.
The problems then continued. Today, July 28th, 2018, we were supposed to have the vinyl installation completed. I spoke to Liz Madigan yesterday several times, including just before the end of the business day, at 5:45pm. She confirmed that the installers would be there to complete the vinyl installation sometime close to 9:00AM. At 8:30 this morning, I received a call from your installation department confirming the appointment, and that I would receive a call one half hour before they arrived so I could meet them at the house. By 11:45AM, I still had not heard from anyone so decided to call the installation department. I was then told by Mr. Dubois that there would be no installation today because the nose molding for the living room stairs was unavailable until August 9th. NO ONE called to tell me this! Again, to add more insult to injury, my husband and I decided to go the the house to check on other progress, only to find the house open and a delivery of vinyl molding on the floor. Someone took it upon themselves to use the spare key we had left for contractors, your installers included, to open the house, deliver materials and then leave the door unlocked. NO ONE called me to ask if this was acceptable! IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
This house was built by my father 48 years ago. It is a cherished part of our family. My father, now 91, is dying and in hospice care. These renovations are being done so my 86 year old mother can rent the house as a means of support. It is a very stressful time for my family, aggravated ten fold by the experience of doing business with your company. Your company has treated this house like its an outhouse and then patted themselves on the back for doing so!
The behavior of your installers is shameful! I have been assured by Ms Madigan that this unconscionable situation is being reviewed my Senior Management. I have also been assured of call backs...none of which occurred. All Mr. Dubois could offer was a weak apology and very little empathy for the way this whole nightmare has been handled.
At the very least, National Floors Direct should refund the installation costs. As the job is still yet to be competed and you have our money, we hope that the job can be completed as quickly and professionally as possible.
We had a similar terrible experience with NFD. Our house was left with old carpet dust on every wall and surface. The “professional” installers filled out their own Customer Review report giving themselves an excellent rating and FORGED my signature. There were many other issues as well but suffice it to say that NFD is TERRIBLE! It’s only about the money, the workmanship is terrible and the product quality poor. Their customer service representatives are trained to put the customer off...some of them being quite rude. Worst company EVER!
I am writing this review because I would like to get in touch with someone at National Floors Direct Who would care to respond to my concerns and I was told that I would receive a response if I posted to this site.
Yesterday, we had vinyl floors installed. When the crew arrived my husband was asked for payment so they could begin. My husband wanted to go over the work that was being done first. The one crew member that spoke English told my husband that they were not to install the base board even though it clearly stated on the paperwork that they were to do this. Also there were two layers of old vinyl floors in the kitchen and bathroom that needed to be removed, which the installers said they were not removing even though it was in the contract that they were to be removed. They called their supervisor as I got on the phone to call NFD. As my husband was speaking to a representative they agreeded with putting in the base board and removing the floors and again asked for the check to begin work even though we were still on the phone with NFD. I told them they would have to wait until we were off the phone with the representative but they again asked for the check!
All the representative seemed to care about was that they had now agreeded to do the work that was listed but unfortunately I still had concerns as I felt they were trying to do the least amount of work as possible. The representative told me they were the professionals and that the floors would be installed properly. I do not believe they were installed properly and would like for a representative to come out and look at them. I do understand that they are a floating floors but as I walk across them they move. This is because they were not leveled before putting the flooring down. The salesman, Jason, told me they would be but again the installers said they did not need to be and the representative told me they were the “professionals” and knew what they were doing.
These floors were being installed in a condo on the second floor and we had set up plastic sheeting on the porch as to not have any dust fall on to the porch below as they were cutting. After a short while they started to cut inside the condo and it was making a mess. My husband was upset but I explained they were “professionals” and would clean up after themselves. Was I ever wrong! The vinyl dust was everywhere. The walls were cover in these little shards of vinyl. They did sweep before they left but then they used the compressor to blow the floors clean.
We had just rehabbed this condo and cleaned and painted everything. We switched out all the hardware, door handles, hinges, light plugs and switches and put new cover on them all. Now EVERYTHING was cover in dust. I spent four hours this morning cleaning everything. I had to dust the walls, baseboards, radiators, door handles, hinges and all the electrical outlets. Then I had to vacuum the new floors because they were still covered in dust and debris. (I had to empty my Dyson vacuum twice!)
Nothing about this has been a pleasant experience! AND as I was cleaning NFD called to confirm the rug installation in the bedrooms. I asked whom I could speak with and she said that I could speak with her if something was wrong. I explained to her what had happened and she promptly handed me off to post this to this site.
Please contact me a albellerose@verizon.net ASAP as I would like to speak with someone.
We Listen @ National Floors Direct -
We recently spoke to a sales person (Malcolm) and ordered our carpet for three good size rooms and a long hallway. We were told that the carpet would be by Mohawk and that the installation would take two to three installers the morning to complete.
After confirming the installation the day before, we were called the morning of the installation and told that the installers would be here between 9 am and 1 pm. Luckily, the installer arrived at 9 am; however, he was alone and stated that he would do the installation himself.
I called the 800 number and spoke to someone who assured me that the installer would do a great job. He did do an excellent job and was courteous and worked very hard to get the job done. However, it took him from 9 am until almost 11pm to complete the installation. This is completely unacceptable given the parameters that we were given.
HAVING BEEN TOLD THAT THE INSTALLATION WOULD BE COMPLETED IN HALF A DAY, this was not really how we intended to spend our day and night, as we still needed to make beds, put light back into the rooms and hook up other accessories. We also feel that this was very unfair to the installer how still had to travel home; a good half hour trip in an extremely exhausted state of mind and body.
Though the installer did show me the carpet to ensure that it was the same color/type that we had agreed to, he did not show us the label to assure that it was Mohawk carpeting. As you can imagine, the final perusal of the finished installation did not take place as the lighting was not back in the rooms and the late hour of the project being completed. We can see a seam in the master bedroom which is quite evident. I have reviewed the other rooms and have not found any other defects or issues, as yet. I will call to arrange for someone (the installer) to come back and look at the one seam area that we can see.
I think that you need to get your act together and be honest about the amount of time that the installation will take and update your advertising to at least state that upgrades are extra. You know that no one can read those little disclaimers on the TV screens.
Though we are mostly happy with the carpet and the installation at this point; we probably would not buy from you again, given the differences in amount of time we were told that the installation would take and how many people would be doing the work.

I have not received my $500.00 deposit.
I contracted with National Floors direct to remove ceramic tile in the dining room and peel and stick flooring in the kitchen. The kitchen floor needed to be leveled. A salesman and a manager came to look at the job and the manager assured me three different times that the installer would level the kitchen floor.
I agreed to the job and wrote a check for the down payment of $500. The check was cashed the next day. The job was scheduled for the following day after that.
The installer came with 3 pieces of wood. It was lighter than my existing floor. Two of the pieces had knots in them. He looked at the kitchen floor and said you need a carpenter to level that floor.
Why did they use an installer who was NOT a carpenter to install wood flooring?
He walked out.
After several calls to NFD I was assured that I would receive my whole deposit
back.
I have not received it yet.
National Floors Direct has not email address and you cannot leave a comment on their web site.
They require only cash or a certified check as final payment. I wouldn't use this company if someone paid me !
flooring
I had new floors put in our dinning room and kitchen by National Floors Direct, vinal flooring that looks like wood. The installers left with things looking overall ok, they left without our complaint and with our thanks. They were very nice but...we have never ever been so disappointed in a company since.
Our salesperson was lovely.
Our contract was written on 4/14/18 and the floor installed on 4/24/18 Problems were observed and started happening shortly after the installers left.
From this company I have felt nothing but brushed off, a lack of concern, practiced tactics of delay and avoidance towards us in every interaction.
Within 30 mins one of the floor molding pieces came up. The other one of the two they installed had nails that hurt to walk on as they were not being fully seated.
The molding they placed around the borders is a non wood
material and shows spaces where they fastened pieces together leaving gaps, there are wavy sections, it covers a multitude of errors and will need to be replaced. Where they cut these pieces it no longer matches the color. These pieces are left at the end of any junctures and stick out like a sore thumb. Their worker agreed upon a later visit that the material is not very good but I'd have to talk to the company on that. Just a point, not my biggest concern, I'll replace those pieces as I can.
Other complaints I expressed and took photos of at their request and stall have include...
flooring pieces that do it match and stick out from each other. We were told by their salespeople and the company again later that the installers are specially trained by them and are among the best of the best and lay everything out ahead etc. How does that even happen, they are vinal and manufactured together, NFD should stick by what they use even if they do not manufacture it. Many of the seams do not lay flat and out base floors were in excellent shape and they did not communicate anything differently. They moved furniture back that I had requested they not move back. A hutch was put in the wrong spot (OK) but also placed on top of a lamp cord right out in the open, not even against a wall, the stove would not push against the wall as there is a piece it has to slide into which it no longer does due to the change of height, they just left it there and said nothing. A piece of the molding near the refrigerator was left hanging past the edge in mid air about 2-3 inches. The two floor vents were left with ends uneven and corners not sitting flush. Between the dining room and kitchen there is an obvious uneven spot under the new floor where there was no issue before, I feel this it every time I walk over this section. From the living room into the dining room they removed the carpet that was in place in the dinning room to place the new floor. There is an obvious section where the padding was ripped out into the living room as well leaving a dip then what has become a bulge. There is a bubble like spot in one of the floor pieces which should thus not have been even used. The floor was scratched in a couple of spots which we do not even know how or when this happened, when installed or after. We explained we have two dogs and two cats and were looking at Purgo for the durability and were assured this was even better. Other scratches have not occurred from their activity so we wonder about the ones there. Where I was sitting in a kitchen chair which has floor protectors on the legs, I got up and noticed there was a dimple left on the vinal from one of the chair legs. Again I have the original photos of all the these spots trying to capture them. NFD asked for photos and I did share these with them and as they refused multiple requests for someone to come look at the floor so I could show them and have them work with me. This could have been easily resolved.
now, Customer Service... I called soon after issues were identified and realized there were issues.
Some of my issues/concerns include:
What sure seemed like a lack of care, concern, or sense of willingness to assist on the companies part.
Definitely a different experience that what I was told or they promote themselves as and from their wonderful salesperson (who no longer works for the company) Touted as a family business leaving an impression, they note in their materials - you speak/we listen/we respond, name brands you can trust, your satisfaction is our objective etc, far from anything I experienced. For us a once in a life time experience was ruined and my wife left in tears.
They did someone to come
out in follow up, the same person who did the work. # 1 I did not want this person touching my floors again. He replied he could repair the thresh holds and I said no thank you, I was going to do that myself. My other concerns he only commented about how I'd have to contact the company. He left without any action or further assistance or offer of other resolutions but again, I did not want him doing more with the floors anyway after the initial work. The company several times explained that is their policy and industry standard for the same person to come out. Maybe but in a circumstance like this you would think they would look beyond that. I also learned after I chased it down, not the company getting back to me, this worker told them it was not as he'd left it and that I had co pauline's about the wrong floor being put in which I have never suggested. So, now we have lying taking place.
I have dealt with significant ongoing customer service issues for the 44 years of my successful and recognized career, they are way off base.
I have all original photos and e-mails. The only thing I don't have is phone conversations.
They chose not to respond back to me after sending pics and there worker came back, when they told me things after I chased them back I told them, no one ever called and told me that like they had forwarded the pics to the instillation department and the had found no problems. Beyond being ridiculous, wouldn't someone get back to me and indicate that was their conclusion? I was told they needed pics again so for the 3rd time I sent the pics. An e- mail was sent back after I sent them the last time saying " too many e-mails, send together in one e-mail" That is when I told them I was done at that lev and would follow up on my own in a different way which is what I am doing here. Too many pics? They were able to work with them before when they indicated they forwarded them to the instillation department and too bad, deal with it. I sent one picture at a time with a brief explanation of what it was.
I asked if there was someone else I could talk to and was told no that I was speaking with a supervisor already.
If you dig a little there are found multiple complaints and photos of poor work that look very similar to mine. They tout AAA ratings and positive ratings by the Better Business Burrow etc. but there is many a poor review that can be found. Try and find a number or ways of filing complaints for NFD and it's not easy within their materials.
I had even after my initial complaints inquired about not hearing back and what do you need from me without response.
I after did have an opportunity to find the two brothers phone numbers who own the company, I left a message with one (Dan) and the other (Zack) did answer. He did not answer with National Floors Direct and seemed startled that I had this number and wondered how I got it. He at least did entertain my call but we just spun tires and I left it I would certainly it be speaking highly of his business to anyone not having achieved any offer of resolution just explanations and excuses about the industry and what things happen as they do. Again there could hav been a fairly easy resolve from my end and willing to meet them halfway.
Thank you for your consideration for noting this as appropriate within you business association.
I am not looking for any specific response, I only want to share my experience with NFD.

Please run! They are a complete scam company with high pressure salesman and lies. I folled all their supposedly (cancellation policy) within 3 days mailing cancellation notice in duplicate and calling 3 days in a row. They kept giving me the run around and lies and actually denied my deposit check refund and have stole my money with nothing to show but a huge disgusting disappointment and a great deal of cash to me (a weeks pay) how can a company be this low. If u give them a deposit check it is gone do not trust that you will ever see it again if you choose to cancel. Salesman pressured the sale and assured me it would be no problem to cancel if I chose to... they have stole my money please don't make the same sad mistake as me and become scammed.
carpet
My 85 year old mother in good faith ordered carpet May 28, 2018 and was promised installation on Monday, June 11, 2018 between 8 am and 10am..she had ordered a new box springs an mattress to be delivered on the 12th..she was called AFTER 10:00 am on the day of delivery to say it was cancelled as the rugs got wet INSIDE the truck! She was told they would be delivered on Thursday the 14th! I had taken the day off from work to be there..I called the company and talked to a person named Cliff. He was totally rude, unprofessional and hung up on me! This is really really disappointing and shameful. He should NOT be in customer service and this company is not trustworthy.
carpeting/service
We were scheduled for an installation of almost an entire house of carpeting and hardwood in one room for 11/21/17. For my husband to get a day out of work, he practically had to jump through hoops. He arranged for 11/21 off. On the Friday prior, the salesman called with a change for the install to Monday. We could not switch the day off so called to request the original date of 11/21 - which had never really been changed. That could have not worked out well. It seemed the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing.
The guys for the carpeting arrived close to 9:00 A.M. They moved very quickly to get furniture out of one room and into another pretty much just grabbing everything including made beds (blankets/sheets/pillows) and piling them up into a heap on the beds or floors. They needed to do what they needed to do. However, the terrible job of seaming is unacceptable. They did not leave until it was dark out which is probably one reason why the seams were not as noticeable while they were there or I would never have let them leave it like that.
Even if the carpeting was the same color from a bedroom into a hallway, there are still seams. The rug is already shredding in the corners. We can see T's and L's and whatever kind of shape there is in the living room and in the master bedroom. Unacceptable. Carpeting is lifting at seams and shredding - it is only a week old! The carpeting going into the hardwood sections of the house is just cut at the edge. Nothing is holding it down. It is loosening and shredding. Terrible edges. One of the stairs is not even cut at the left side of the stair.
I love the carpets. I love the colors. I am not happy with the seams that are so readily visible by anyone (including children) that were left behind. The fact that they did not tack down the edges with a piece of something is ridiculous.
It is the Holiday Season. There is a lot going on. I am still trying to put my house together from this whole process. The time my husband and I have spent on the phone with your customer service department is ridiculous. He has called. I have called. We have both been given the runaround. Exceptionally long waits on hold, told that we would be called back, given dates that were false, etc. We are not able to take another 12 hours out of work to fix all these mistakes. We were given a date on a Saturday only to later learn they don't work on Saturdays. I finally spoke with a supervisor and was given a date of Thursday, Dec. 7th for repairs.
It is yet to be seen what kind of repairs are done and whether it is done satisfactorily or not. So far, I would not recommend this company to anyone. We have been dealing with a nightmare right from the start. The amount of time this has taken out of our daily routines is beyond normal. The stress and anxiety of the whole process has been great. By the way, the hardwood floor that was installed is wonderful and done correctly. For that, we are very appreciative.
I hope I will be writing back with a good report after this Thursday. So far, we are not happy with National Floors Direct.
laminate flooring and baseboard
I Paid $4300.00 TO Install of 800 square feet of laminent flooring that was postponed at the last minute, which was very inconvienint because my son was supposed to be there with me when they came to install. When they arrived 3 days later, They saw an 80 year old lady and tried to up the charges $850.00 for moving my furniture, when moving the few items in my home was included in the price. After they upset me terribly, they agreed to move the furniture at no additional cost, but I had my son come over that night and move all the items that they were complaining about anyway.
Then they tried to put down a cheaper 1/4 round molding when I paid extra money for the 3 1/2 inch wall board. They told me they would come back the following week to fix the error, but when i CALLED THEM THEY WANTED to charge me $650.00, again they claimed it was for moving charges. I told them that my son did the moving and the contract clearly states that the moving of furniture was included.
I had the installers sign on the contract that they would come back the following week to fix the error and the company still refuses to complete the job.
Everyone at the company was very rude and did nothing to help with any of the situations.
Look them up on any review site to see many similar claims- Yelp BBB Division of consumer affairs.
DO NOT USE National Floors Direct. They will try to rip you off.
hardwood floor
I contracted with this company to take up a portion of 1 room of carpet and lay an oak floor. The area was about 168 sq. ft. I was told, by the salesman, that I order for the job to come out right, the carpet left behind must be stretched to meet the new hardwood floor. Because this would be done by a carpet installer (Vs. the Hardwood installer), there would be an additional charge of $200.
The installers came and cut the carpet and installed the new hardwood floor. As It turned out, the remaining carpet did not require stretching, as it fit nicely up to the new floor.
At about 1 :00 pm, I called National Floors and asked that they cancel the carpet crew, that was scheduled to come between 6:00 and 7:00 pm. I also requested that they refund the $200 that they charged to cover the carpet stretching. The representative then proceeded to tell me that they don't charge for carpet stretching. Unfortunately, I neglected to have the salesman spell out the charge separately on the contract.
I called the salesman to tell him what happened and he said he would contact the office to get it corrected.
I called both the office and the salesman again, but to no avail. I ended up paying nearly double what they were advertising, on television, for a similar sized Armstrong hardwood floor. Needless to say, I would not recommend this company for any work.
