This company is a total SCAM. WE paid 8 thousand dollars to National tax experts and we are worse off then we were with out them'

At the beginning of 2018 , I owed the IRS almost $40,000 and by November that year I owed $100.00. I was in bad,bad shape and was ecstatic when Robert Humphrey from National Tax Experts in Glendale,CA. reduced my liability to one hundred dollars. I am starting life over with a clean slate thanks to National Tax Experts.

I had about $80k due to IRS and $20k due to Franchise Tax Board (CA) and it cost me $25k for their service, but they got the IRS down to $426 (yes four hundred and twenty six dollars) and Franchise Tax Board to $8k and helped set up a payment plan for me to pay it off in 3 years. I am happy with their work but I will say that anyone hiring them needs to ask a lot of questions and make sure they understand what the company is promising. Had a few misunderstandings because I did not fully understand how it was all going to work. But I will say for sure that I am happy with the outcome and they also helped me set up my business in a better way to save me money in the future and connected me with a company to issue paychecks so I no longer had to worry about withholding taxes. I would definitely recommend them to anyone else with tax issues.

I signed an agreement with NTE, as well as paid $xxxx. Nobody ever corresponded with me and IF they did most of my information was inaccurate. In or about May I started an agreement with NTE through *** to have an Offer and Compromise filed. They stated they would be able to help me and file. I sent *** to the company and started the process. After a while I was hardly ever communicated with, when I did get in contact with somebody NOBODY had answered. I left numerous voicemails and called customer service with no response. When somebody FINALLY reached out to me with the IRS on the phone conference called, they had my information all wrong THEN asked for me to resubmit my documentation as if they did not have it on file. I am far from satisfied with the business I had with NTE. In the beginning they were helpful then fell off completely.

In *** of *** I spoke with a representative from National Tax Expert whom said they would help resolve my tax issue for which I owed *** to the IRS. Already struggling through the pandemic, recent widow, and losing hours at my job, I felt they would help and they received my information and the process began from there. For over 6 months National Tax Experts failed to communicate with me and I had to call them several times to ask what was going on with my case. After several attempts and talking to different representatives, I received a call that my case was resolved; however, a few weeks later I received a letter from the IRS that my case was closed but I now owe them *** dollars. I paid National Tax Experts *** and was scammed through the company. I received no help, owe IRS more money with added interest and penalties, and I am out of

In 2018 I hired National Tax Experts to help resolve some out standing IRS issues. Immediately after I signed the contract with them they determined that I was going to be needing to pay them several thousand dollars more based on the work that needed to be done. I paid them more than $*** and they have not resolved any of my irs issues. Every time I call I am given an answer that falls into the we are working on it or we need a little more time. To date I've been told a lot of things they were going to be doing but have not felt like I am in good hands. I receive Notices of collection and intend to Levy when there should be a freeze on all of that any payment plan should've been worked out along time ago I am very unimpressed and dissatisfied with the service there unprofessional disorganized and unreliable I would like to be refunded and use these funds to hire a tax attorney who can resolve these issues once and for all.

On 01/03, I hired NTE to help me resolve an outstanding tax debt. They assisted my in getting a loan through ***) to pay their fee of $***+ and as of today, 06/10, they are still "working on it". My loan payments are on a mandatory APO from my bank but I am not getting any resolution to my matter. Additionally, I have been told, by NTE, to not pay my monthly installments to the IRS as the debt would be wiped out, but nothing has been done. The IRS is now demanding all the back installment payments owed, as NO ONE FROM NTE has contacted them to advise I am being represented by their office to reduce or eliminate my debt. Lastly, I am currently on the phone with NTE and they put me on an indefinite hold since I asked for immediate resolution or a refund. This is unacceptable and at this point, I just want a refund of all monies paid to them so I can hire someone locally, or use the money to pay the IRS.

This complaint transpires over several years.I have been in contact with this company since 2018. I reached out for assistance with my tax payment lowered to approximately half and deal with the penalties.W2 was sent and i was told we needed to take a $*** loan from them to get the ball rolling on the settlement.We took the loan.We were then told they couldn't start working on it until the loan was paid off. SO we paid it off early.J *** than told me they were in the process of negotiating with the IRS and it would take some time. After not hearing anything I reached out and was told I had to file the next years taxes. A repeat of this has gone on since then taxes get filed no settlement. I recently reached out to the IRS to inquire whats the hold up and i was told this was the first time they IRS had been contacted regarding my case. when i reached out to this company i was told j *** no longer works there asked by r*** to do another loan. no settlement was done

"Beware: National Tax Experts" I have been Totally Scammed, My wife and I are senior citizens living on Social Security at the time I retained NTE. It has been almost a year now and absolutely nothing has been done. I have received ZERO correspondence from NTE or the IRS confirming any progress. I have called them several times for status and it is always someone different. And the blanket answer is "It takes time, the IRS is way behind with the pandemic". Between the High Interest Loan they got me into and there fee I have been scammed out of funds in excess of 8K.They were to file an offer of compromise? they have not provided copies of anything even though I have requested them. They told me when this process started that my situation would be a Slam Dunk...Well it is now clear that they are Scammers / ***...I feel stupid getting duped at my age, but I will not tolerate "Thieves". I have learned that an "Offer of Compromise" get paid to the IRS directly by me. It's Criminal.

I contacted national tax experts in aug of 2014 to help resolve my tax issues . At that point i had 10 yrs of unfiled tax returns. Being a self employeed carpenter i failed to file the year after my divorce and it just snowballed from there. National tax charged me $*** for that first year for their services. There rates jumped to $4500 in the third year . So i paid national tax monthly installments for over SIX years that reach close to $20,000. In january l called my case worker , *** for an update on my file. He tells me he can close this out this week if i can pay an adddional $*** today. I pay this extra $*** on 1/19 and sign an Addendum stating that its retaining NTE for the next 5 yrs to monitor and file my tax returns and quarterly payments to the IRS. Despite my dozen calls and dozen left messages , i was never able to contact *** again. My case got given to a new worker and now allost a year later they are hitting me up for an additional $*** .

I contracted with NAT Tax back in 2019 to resolve some tax issues I was having. We agreed on an amount and I forwarded all necessary documentation. Once they received the documents, I was subsequently told I'd have to pay more to resolve my issue. In the interest of getting the matter handled I paid the upcharge. We got compliant and instead of the company negotiating a settlement with the IRS, they insisted on me taking a loan which made no sense since it wasn't even been used to pay the IRS what was owed. I disagreed with that solution and once that happened I could never get a hold of anyone that was handling my case. I spent countless hours on hold only to be transferred to individuals that had no history on my case. As always every time I managed to get someone who was going to help, they would ask for more money after I had already paid thousands and still no resolution. In June this year after hours on hold, I got a hold of a manager who was going to help resolve my case. I forwarded all my information for the past two years and after forwarding it to them, I still haven't heard a single word from them. I've called numerous times only to be put on hold for hours and even getting hung up on. This organization is defrauding customers and jeopardizing our tax situations rather than solving them and performing the services they were paid for. I would like to get a refund and all my information purged.

I contacted *** asked for assistance with settlement of back taxes as well as filing my 2019 taxes and neither was done. I contacted *** in November and spoke with a *** and asked for assistance with a settlement to the *** for back taxes and help with filing my 2019 taxes. I was told it would cost *** to do so and that I could pay in installments. They assured me that the collections efforts were stopped immediately with the *** as he gave me the impression he handled that part as we were talking. I was also told that they would file my 2019 taxes immediately and that did not happen. This was around Thanksgiving so I figured the holidays were the reason for the delay. I contacted them again in the beginning of December and asked if the taxes were filed and was told they were waiting on the receipt of my transcripts so they can file. This was questionable as when I spoke with them the first time they seem to have access to my information at the drop of a hat now it seemed to be a problem with access to my transcripts. At this point I was speaking to a guy named *** as I inquired about my 2019 filings and the overall status of my case. At this point I got the impression that no one was doing anything. I am not satisfied with at all with how this is going as it has been no contact and to after all that to call the *** myself and find out that nothing was done was very disappointing. At this point I am not trusting of this company and there ability to do what they say they will do. I am no longer interested in working with this company as I fear they will mess my situation up more than it already is with there delays. I had to call the *** myself and request them to do what they were being paid to do.

Misleading consumer to pay for tax help then be informed after paying astronomical fee find they lied about the process. 2/12 - After receiving a mailer from National Tax Experts, contacted *** who indicated their company can remove a tax lien on my property so I could sell my house to help pay back IRS debit. During this call was assured they could put in an immediate stop with IRS and also negotiate a lower settlement with IRS. I signed a service agreement for $*** for them to provide their service and completed Form 2848 giving them power of attorney to work with the IRS. 2/19 - Contacted by *** who was working my case (ID XXXXXX with NTE). He explained all the things their company can do filing a lien discharge, penalty abatement and not only getting IRS to settle for less than what I owe, but getting back some of the penalties I had already paid. I was sent several IRS forms during this discussion to fill out and he mentioned remember this amount $*** dollars. I promptly completed the forms and sent them back. To my surprise realized NTE had charged my account, using information from when I paid for the service agreement the additional amount $*** dollars. I did not sign anything authorizing this and thought I was completing some IRS forms. 3/9 - Received letter from IRS saying the Form 8821 was not legible and missing information. I contacted NTE and informed them of the problem and also found out the process of selling my home would be much more involved getting approval from IRS "once I have received an Offer". I questioned what I was getting based on the fact I had paid out $***. This was not what I was told so I requested a refund. *** indicated they would have an arbitration lawyer contact me withing 48 hours to settle the dispute. That was around 6 pm est on 3/11 and I have not heard back from them.

I hired *** to settle my taxes. I'm a disabled senior citizen. I was told that they would take care of my federal and state taxes. *** later, my state taxes still have not been done. I was instructed to pay an additional *** a month for a settlement agreement made with the *** I was never given any information showing this agreement made with the *** Upon my doing my due diligence contacting the *** they informed me they hadn't received any of my *** a month payment . That was just another way for *** to continue distorting me out of my tight finance. I have contacted them on several occasion to get them to complete my taxes to no avail. I feel taken advantage of / scammed, I was never given an explanation of the settlement made with the *** I feel they just make of ways to continue to get your money. I am a disabled senior citizen and feel they scammed me. I already paid them $ *** an not even sure of the status of my federal taxes, They repeatedly informed me they would handle my state taxes as well and it has yet to be done I hired *** back in 2018, and I'm not satisifed with the status of my taxes. I spoke to *** of *** Approximately 2 months ago He informed me he would send a worksheet for me to fill out s he can work on my state taxes. He never sent me anything as if they're not going to do anything unless they're getting more money. I informed him the *** a month extra, that he was collecting the Irs had not record of it and he had no explanation for that situation. I am disabled on a fixed income and can not afford this lack of service for something that was a strain to pay for in the first place. Please assist me with either getting my money back or *** completing my taxes that they were paid for! I don't have *** to just give away! It was a great strain on my budget.

They advertised for a fee they could eliminate my tax debt. I paid the money and have received nothing in return, not even hardly a phone call. My wife and I paid *** in March with the promise they could resolve my tax debt issue by October. To this very day nothing is resolved and they will not even return my phone calls. I was and am a disabled senior citizen. My wife paid the fee with her credit cards of which we have since paid off. They told us they could stop all garnishments from the IRS and that too has not stopped. So not only did we pay them *** but because they failed to stop the garnishments from the IRS, they too (the IRS) have taken my wife's *** federal return this year to try to pay my tax debt. National Tax Experts said they could stop that from happening but have not. I would be happy if they would just call me back when I call them but they don't. I've not heard from them in over a year now, no case up dates, nothing. I was told that *** was the attorney in that office but when I checked with the California State Bar Association they said there is no attorney by that name doing business at that address. So here again we were lied to. I tried to file a complaint with the California State Bar Association but because he (*** is not an attorney there is nothing they could do for us. I am beside my self not knowing what to do or where to turn for help. I've tried calling other attorney's but nobody is interested in taking on the IRS. My tax debt is not allot to most people because it is under *** the larger agency's will not help me. Just so you understand, again I am 69 years old disabled and on social security, a fixed income of *** a month. My wife works but is over 60 now and will be retiring soon herself. We need to resolve this issue or get a refund of the $*** we paid to National Tax Experts back in March. I appreciate anything your agency can do for us. Thank you in advance.
