NetSpend prepaid debit card

i am a long time netspend user and it seems like their level of business just keeps getting worse. your account gets locked as soon as you hang up from a complaint call. with no way to get to your funds and they dont seem to care about their customers feelings or financial dealings. i feel like if you have a problem they should just listen and find out whats best for you. Now i have to go without my money (currently) and wait on them to figure out how to do their job with no results in the first place. this is the last year i will be using netspend they arent worth the hassle ill find another card.

NetSpend locked account. direct deposit has not hit. I need to pay my bills

I'll explain as best i can...

I opened an account with a prepaid card i received in the mail (lets call this account A). It all went through but as i tried to activate the card online, it said there was an issue and that i had to call customer service. My friend said it was normal since he had to do that when he first got his. I called to activate my card and it activated. So i log back in to my account (A) through the netspend app and i tried to put in the card information since it said it wasnt yet activated and it told me to call customer service again. So i waited 24 hours to try and see if the account had updated. I try again and still the same message to call the customer service hotline. I kept trying for the next couple of days but no luck. Then i get a text on January 9th saying my direct deposit is pending and to please contact customer service immediately. I try to long into my account (A) and it said it was LOCKED. I call customer service and ask why my account is locked and they said they couldn't find out why because i didn't have the account number. I ask them if my card is activated since it didnt want to go through on the app and they say yes. I asked how i would be able to put the card on my account and she said to register for online access. I tried to use account (A) but it didnt let me. So I opened a new account under that card (lets call this account B) I hung up very dissatisfied. Call quality was terrible and she coukd barely speak English. Nevertheless i patently waited for my direct deposit to hit. I was supposed to get paid Jan 11 but its almost Jan 12 and I STILL have not received my check. I called customer service on Jan 11 around 3pm EST and ask why i have not recived my direct deposit. I explain that i had one account under the card (A) and tell them I'm locked out and dont have the account number. They check everything and say there is nothing on account (A) and all they could find was the second account (B). She said it was impossible for a card to have two accounts. Basically implying that i was lying. She told me to get the trace number for my "check" (its not a physical check so there is no trace number). I got no further instructions. I hang up very dissatisfied (again) with the customer service.

I explained every thing to my employer and i highly doubt its their error. I did the most i could to see if i had made a mistake putting in the direct deposit info and its the same as the last account (A) So i really dont know whats going on. Maybe I haven't received my direct deposit because account (A) is locked? Then again the card was never under that account since it always told me to call Customer Service when putting the card number in for direct deposit. With that all said, me and my employer are currently trying to figure out the situation.

NetSpend netspend account

Netspend account is on hold. Sent all the documents after getting married however, they said they will not recognize my paper temp. DL copy from the DMV, or my old license because the DMV clipped the bottom of the license. That I have to wait until I get the hard copy before they will unfreeze my account. Even though the paper copy is the valid DL until I receive the Hard Copy DL in the mail. Which could take 35-45 days. In the meantime ALL my bill will be overdue, and I will have no money. I sent everything they asked for, marriage license original, ss card, old dl, new paper copy, ss office administration stating I changed my ss card to new married last name, a copy of online printed out from the DMV that showed I changed my DL and that it will be mailed in 35-45 days. I HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES, KEEP GETTING THE SAME GO AROUND, EVEN THOUGHT OK GIVE ME THE CORPORATE OFFICE ADDRESS OR PHONE AND ILL DRIVE TO AUSTIN TO SHOW THEM PROOF IN PERSON. ANYWHERE ELSE THE DL TEMP IS VALID PROOF UNTIL THE HARD COPY ARRIVES. PLEASE HELP ANYONE, WHOM MIGHT HAVE ANY INFOR. ON SOMEONE AT NETSPEND THAT COULD HELP RESOLVE THIS ISSUE I CAN NOT WAIT 35-45 DAYS.

NetSpend I have received two temporary passwords that do not work and cant my account online from my computer.

The first incident was Jan. 1, 2018. I was trying to send money directly from my debit card account to my landlord's bank account. When I tried to access my account online from my computer, I could not get into my account. The screen just kept swirling over and over. After trying a second time and failing again, I called customer service. The person who helped me said I would be sent a temporary password so I could change my password. She said I would need to type the temporary password manually, which I did. The temporary password didn't work. I emailed customer service about the problem, but they responded by saying someone else had already helped me. I was forced to get a money order to pay my landlord, which really inconvenienced me.

Today, Jan. 5, I once again tried to access my account online from my computer. After typing my user name, I clicked "forgot my password" so I could get a temporary password. After I received the temporary password, I tried to use it to login into my account. I typed it manually. Just as occurred on Jan. 1, this temporary password didn't work. I sen. t an email to customer service about the problem but have not yet received a reply

NetSpend account locked for no reason

I'm extremely pissed.I filed my taxes through turbo tax, and chose the option of having my tax return deposited to my pre paid card from this company.
As soon as my card arrived in the mail, I attempted to activate it. For some "MYSTERIOUS" reason, my account locked up, blocking me from having access to my own money. I called customer service, and oh those reps are just pathetic and useless. They could barely speak clear English!
They said it happened for security reasons. I say what should I do? They instructed me to send in my documents i.e SS card, state I.D, W-2 form, to verify who I am and proof of residency. So I did exactly that.
I called back the next day, and they told me they didn't see my residential address on my w-2 form when it was clearly on their in like 5 different spots. And they wanted to see a date on it, but my w-2 form doesn't have a date located on it. So they told me to resend it, once again. Hopefully they won't give me the run around again next time I call up there.
JUST ACTIVATE MY *** ACCOUNT ALREADY! My patience is running thin. I followed their instructions and now they're just making this flat out incredibly difficult for me. PISSED!
I won't recommend this company to anyone! As soon as I withdraw my tax return, I'm throwing away my card and filing a customer complaint. Never again Netspend!
We're over before we ever began.Good riddance.

NetSpend prepaid card

My card was stolen and money was taken off my card .i took all the proper steps in filing a dispute.was told in 10 business days i could recieve a personail credit to business days pass then they up it to 20 business days i file a complaint managment suppost to contact me in 5 business days never did still havent heard any thing about my dispute they just send the same message over and over saying my complaint will be forward to the proper department

NetSpend my prepaid card

It's december 22 I got my ssi direct deposited as I do each month then I couldn't find my card I called and they told me to get a temporary that 5hey would transfer it to the temperary card but then they locked my account with my money and won't tell me why said something about fraud... Iv been calling them all day no one helps me i'm histerical I need my money I am disabled I have temperary customer service has had me on hold over 3 hour and 3 of them have hung up on me I want my [censor]ing money god what am I supposed to do I can't get no one to help me

NetSpend direct deposit

Some [censor]. My Fiancé and I have had a world of trouble getting her money. Mind you, this is Christmas time and we are already behind on ever bill imaginable due to some emergency events and now, a day before payday, netspend decides to ask for "verification" at like 12 midnight instead of mentioning that in advance so we can get our money as planned. I am about to take legal action because this is some [censor]ing [censor] and we need our money or rush losing electricity in our apartment which puts us in a world of trouble. I need a VP or supervisor to contact me IMMEDIATELY

NetSpend Card locked out proof of address

Ok so lets start my new job requires direct deposit so I applied for a netspend card and set my payment through them. The account is suddenly locked, bear in mind I haven't even received the card yet. So I call them and they ask me to fax my drivers license and my social as well as proof of address, since my address is on my id I ask if that would be ok and they say yes.
So I fax the id and social. I receive an email stating they couldn't see my exp date on my id (because that's relevant) and that they need a proof of address still. So I resend a clearer picture of my id as well as a copy of my state issued hunting permit which has my mailing address on it.
No email back... So my card arrives and I go to activate it and they send me to an operator. So upon cutting of a finger for them and such she tells me again that they need a proof of address. Stating that a state issued license and my drivers license are not valid forms of id, but a utility bill or my w4 are. So here is my predicament I do not currently have a utility bill in my name and have not received a w-4 form for this address yet.
I fail to see how these forms of proof are unacceptable. Even when applying for state documents all they require is a piece of mail addressed to you.
As it stands I faxed my paystub and await a response.
This whole ordeal is frustrating I have 1 and soon to be 2 paychecks deposited to the card and I cant access my money.
The customer service is friendly enough but each one will tell you something different and have you chasing your own tail.
Hopefully this gets resolved or they will lose all future business with me.

I'm having the same problem its been a month I've sent them everything enough to steal my identity and they still are saying no even an affidavit for my minor child for me entering her into school it has to be verified that's our address I'm sick of it I have 2 babies no money a roof because I stay with my granny think god but an address does not verify a person I've even sent in my birth certificate its crazy

NetSpend account locked

I have had my card for a long time now and today is the first time I've ever had an issue. I received the text showing my deposit was posted and upon attempting to log in it stated my account was locked. With no warning or calls to prevent fraud anything. Now I cannot access my money and can't even contact them due to being closed. This needs to be fixed today or I will have my lawyer contact them.

I've had my cards and account for years with no issues like this. Several days ago, I went to log on to transfer some money from savings to my card so I could make my loan payment. It was locked. When I called the ONLY number available to call, it asked for my card number, then said the number is not valid. I tried my Social Security Number, it is not valid. Then I ma disconnected.
I have both of my checks direct-deposited to the account. I have a savings account as well. My next deposit is coming on Friday and I can't get through to ANYBODY. I can't log in, I can't talk to anyone, I am non-existent to Netspend and they have control of every penny I have or will have, with no resolution in sight. I cannot believe with things the way they are right now, Netspend would be so careless with this widow's only income during these struggling times. My stimulus check will also go to this account, . I can't pay ANY bills, there is very little food left, and no help I can find.

NetSpend mastercard

I have twice now received an unsolicited credit cards.
I did not activate it.
I already have a freeze with the 3 credit bureaus on my identity.
I was sent an email from netspend that 4 transactions were made to the account, and they wanted me to verify my ssn#.

I cannot seem to get anyone's attention at netspend...
There are no customer service reps answering phones.
The email correspondence is computer generated garbage not addressing my complaint.

I just went through a stolen identity process, and now netspend is sending me unsolicited credit cards.

I am reporting netspend to consumer protection...
I want to know how netspend got my ssn# to create an account unsolicited..

NetSpend credit card

I filed a complaint on November 2nd 2017 because I was incarcerated between October 12th to October 31st and when I got released I realized my house was robbed and I turned in my cards and stolen I look at my account and on the 26th of October while I was still in angelle when my card was being used on October 26th at an ATM I do not know how they got my PIN number but NetSpend and refusing to credit me that and it was my kids Social Security money that was on the Cardinals and I've lost my house and I've lost my car because of them and I also should proof that I was in jail on October 26th when my car was being debited $1, 100 cash out of an ATM in Springfield Missouri police report in Springfield Missouri I also filed with the sheriff's department in Buffalo Missouri for my house being robbed

NetSpend not being able to access my funds

I had multiple transactions with my netspend card being credited because the vendor didn't have cash to pay me. So your risk management put a restriction on my card for almost a week now and it hasn't been lifted. They risk management has told me I have resolve this by going back to the vendors and have them reverse the credits. Why am I being held accountable for the vendors mistakes? Plus your customer service operators told me the block will be lifted within 48 hours. Risk management tells me I shouldn't listen to them. What good is customer service if there misinforming you. I want this issue resolved or I'm taking this to a higher level. I've been a customer for a long time and this is how you treat your customers. Shame on you.

NetSpend locked account

I'm so angry at the fact that you guys locked my account without ANY WARNINGS & now I can't have access to my money & i'm calling the call center and you guys keep saying call during our normal business hours which is 8:00am-10:00pm and here I am calling at 8:30 A.M in the morning and there's no customer service representatives available, this has to be the worst prepaid card service ever .

NetSpend closing my account and not sending me my 1200.00

My account was locked due to fraud credits from place of employment they said .because should been cash instead on card the business requested and got funds back . Networks says that there waiting on them yet it's been a month and I can prove there lying. Then on 25th Oct they said check is in mail take 7 to 10 days never got it called back they said it's on hold again mean while they excepted my direct deposit pay roll check.and holding that now also. They say I can't talk to no one it's not there problem have now cost me my apt. And my job held a month worth paychecks.its now Nov 1 I'm 40 and had to live with relatives till this taken care of

NetSpend prepaid card

Purchased the card at a local merchant. I had a return on a purchase put on the card by another merchant. Now Netspend has lock my card with the credit on it and will not release it and can't tell me how to get it cleared or if I will ever get it; 443 dollars that's not theirs but they will not release. They can see exactly where the money came from but refuse to unlock my card.

NetSpend my account

I am furious this evening. I have been with NetSpend for maybe 4 months. It's been an easy journey thus far as I dont really pay bills with the account, I mainly deposit 2 checks at most a week and do some online/grocery shopping.

Tonight to my dismay, i went to make an online purchase to see my account was declined- impossibly so. I went to check my online funds, alarmed. I am locked out of my account it seems.

I went to "forgot password" because, I do forget my password often with the many accounts I have.. and thats when it siad
essentially my account is not accessible and it cannot be unlocked at this time.

I think its absurd that they don't have customer service 24/7. I also think it's absurd that this seems to be a normal occurance, and their responses on twitter are so "whatever".. These are peoples funds, hard earned money. I'm reading of single parents being locked out their accounts for weeks.

NOT I.

I have emailed twice, called for the hell of it, blowed up on twitter and even made one of my infamous youtube videos complaining. (laurenejordann)

I want my money and my account unlocked first thing in the morning, as their is no excuse for this. I am livid. I need to make an important purchase involving work.

NetSpend prepaid debit card

I bought a card and loaded $75 on it when I bought it. When I got home I went online to try to register it, and put in a fake name like I do with ALL prepaid debit cards. I have NEVER had to use my real name. They locked it and I sent them my ID and SS card to unlock it and they won't. I needed that $75. I will try to call them again tomorrow and hopefully get someone that will understand that I used an online alias and I want it changed to my legal name. I have NEVER seen a prepaid card ask for a real name or a SS#. I will never buy one of their cards again and I don't recommended that anyone ever buy them.

Well, thats all nice and good, but I still won't be using this service ever again. I assumed a reloadable card might be better to have, but it turns out that one time use, nonreloadable cards are better for me. I never wanted an account, I simply wanted a card I could use just for the amount I put on it, then throw away. And if you think people actually read requirements, you don't know people very well. Its like the Terms of Service for literally anything. No one reads that. Everyone scrolls through and just clicks agree cause ain't nobody got time for that. But hey, thanks to the people who sorted the issue out for me, and made me realize just how much of a bad idea it was to buy one of these cards.

For a recap to anyone reading this, don't buy NetSpend cards. There are plenty of nonreloadable cards out there that are so much better. Hell, go buy a prepaid Walmart Visa or something. If a prepaid cards wants you to open an actual account, then thats a sure sign its a bad idea, trust me on this.

The above complaint was taken care of. I called again today and spoke to a very nice lady, who seemed far more competent, and she activated the card and changed the name on the account to my legal name. I still do not plan to use this prepaid service again, as I do not want to have to use my legal name. I should have been able to use literally any name I wanted to use, because its not a real credit card. Its a prepaid card. They are sending me a permanent card with my name on it, but I don't need one. I just needed a one time prepaid card. Next time I will just stick with the nonreloadable cards, cause this stuff is absolute BS. Don't buy NetSpend.

Even if they could just make it so I can use it as a debit card offline, at least I won't totally lose $75. But if they steal $75 from me, I will be taking them to court and suing for emotional damages as this whole thing has caused me to have a complete mental breakdown and I already have emotional issues.

NetSpend online services

I have been trying for about three weeks to gain access to my online account and I have not had any luck with this AT ALL. I have talked to several Reps who have no clue how to assist me. I have sent multiple emails with one response which was basically what everyone keeps saying instead of "Lets take a different approach" smh. I am trying to correct some items that I was charged for by another company but I cant see my transaction history so I'm not sure how the heck I'm supposed to collect this information so that I am able to receive my refunds. NOT TO MENTION Netspend had the nerve to charge me a monthly fee and Im not even able to access all of my features...thats crazy! Im so pissed I dont know what else to do. I have never been through this kinda stress and frustration before especially if I have to commit to monthly payments, its only fair that I recieve the assitstance I requested over and over and over again.

NetSpend debit prepaid card

Hello, ordered and received a prepaid debit card promptly. Have been using the card for about two months it has been smooth with no real issues other than 4.95 fee to add money is beginning to get expensive. Was told 20.00 would be credit to my card after deposit. I have made serval deposits over 400.00 and no credit. So adding money is getting expensive and should have gotten $20.00 credit as promised by opening account.
Other than that everything has been fine. I like the card.
