This company blatantly STOLE $60 from my PayPal account! I do not even know WHAT Nexon America is! I filed a complaint of unautorized charges with PayPal, and if this is their 'business practice', they need to be arrested. They are practicing fraud and are thieves. I called the one number that I found for them, a 213 area code, as well as the "customer service" line they apparently provide to paypal [protected]), well, surprise, surprise, they lead to NOWHERE. No one picks up, they are disconnected lines.
I like how there are so many Dick Freakin Tracys on here who "examine" the posts and conclude that "our kids or someone we know" is buying game credits through Nexon with our PayPal accounts. YOU MUST BE ON DRUGS! This is a friggin SCAM, spelled S-C-A-M...Get it?
This is a SECURITY BREACH where our PayPal passwords have been compromised and the thieves go in and initiate CASH TRANSFERS FROM YOUR PAYPAL LINKED BANK ACCOUNTS! This 2 times $30 transactions to "billingpp@nexon.net" just happened to me and I've never heard of this company and my kids don't even know what a PayPal account is, much less my account password! I also checked the kids' PC and there is no "nexon" folder and no browser history pointing to that website...They just play FREE games at candystand.com...They have NO WAY to pay for any fee-based subscription service, PERIOD!
Someone has HACKED YOUR ACCOUNT AT PAYPAL AND OBTAINED YOUR PASSWORD AND ACCOUNT ACCESS and if you have it linked to a bank account, you'd better take steps to minimize any potential damage right now! I tried to REMOVE my bank account from PayPal just after receiving LEGITIMATE (not phishing) e-mails from PayPal with these transaction details in them. I was TOO LATE and PayPal would not allow me to remove my bank account because there are "PENDING TRANSACTIONS"...In other words, these FRAUDULENT, UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTIONS.
I'll be at my bank when they open in the AM and I'll stop the transfers AT THE SOURCE regardless of what PayPal does/decides in their "investigation"...Because whatever they decide, it's FINAL, meaning YOU HAVE NO RECOURSE! I've had a PayPal account since before they were owned by eBay and nothing like this has ever happened before...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
I agree it just happened to us! someone needs to put them in jail!
You're a bunch of [censored]es... You don't know how to keep your own information save... Just don't use a password that your children, wife or other familiars could guess...
I have dealt with credit card fraud in the past and since I work in a company that encounters fraud all the time, I knew exactly what had happened. Nexon didn't just steal your information. Where would they get your credit card from? Paypal holds onto the funds to ensure that you aren't just trying to get something for free. Usually, you file a complaint and there are steps. If you really think your credit card was charged without your consent, you should cancel the card and file a dispute with your card company, not Nexon. If you suspected someone of robbing your house would you go straight to the source? Of course not! You would get the authorities involved, in this case, PayPal.
If you incurred excess damages from this, like in the case of the 20 year old student above who can't make rent, you can press charges against the perpetrator, assuming it's not your kid. Also, in the future, it's not a bad idea to keep your credit card information secret. Most people in the US will give their information to anyone over the phone who sounds professional. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but blaming the merchant isn't getting you anywhere. The guy who stole your information should be to blame. Both you and Nexon are the victims, now why don't you work together to resolve the issue instead of just pointing fingers at the name that appeared on your bank statement?
I was charged $30 by Nexon America Inc. and when I reported this to Paypal to launch an investigation they concluded this was NOT a case of unauthorised activity, despite the fact I have never heard of, seen, or used any Nexon America products I would possibly spend my money on.
This may be a long shot, but have any of the people scammed by Nexon purchased anything from eBay from a company that appears on your PayPal invoice as "BuyInCoins.Com"? I ask this because I rarely use my PayPal account, so it caught my attention that after weeks of inactivity, this fraudulent payment went out the SAME DAY as I purchased something from these guys on eBay.
Not sure if this has been mentioned previously in this post but if not, check your PayPal history and if "BuyInCoins.Com" appears anywhere, we might have an idea where this fraud is originating.
I use LastPass a Firefox extension that encrypts my passwords and generates incredibly secure ones for all the sites I visit, including PayPal. Yet I too was victim of this scam.
I came across a post in a thread about a PayPal account generator that Nexon users are presumably using to get free stuff. But hoe our details manage to get on there is beyond me.
I was charged 2 payments of $10 each, I have since changed my password and both security questions.
It is obviously a huge problem. I too practice safe internet habits, I stay updated, I don't open email attachments and scan my computer at least once every week.
I live in England and this has just happened to me through my paypal account, two $30.00 charges to Nexon America I wasn't even on the computer at the time, I was out. And no I do not have any kids and have never given my password out to anyone. I have raised a complaint to paypal straight away explaining that these are not my charges and also sent an email to Nexon.
I have just received an email from Paypal saying that I have been charged $30 by Nexon America Inc. I have absolutely no idea who they are or why they have charged me this amount. Have reported it to Paypal and hope this will be resolved quickly.
move it up!

nexon is a rich company. it never scams or steals. its the one that gets hacked or robbed.
Nexon is a huge gaming company that provides free games across the wolrd
now here are the questions for everyoneof you that said "NEXON STOLE MY MONEY"
1. What good does nexon get ? ..erm returning money to everyon/ getting a scream in the face? ..? IF
Just happened to me for $150 WTF?
I had 5 draws on my PayPal Account of $30 each - I have filed against PayPal but who knows - if they are stealing like this over and over on PayPal - I would think PayPal should do something
Same deal... geesh this is pathetic, how is this scam 4 years old? Paypal has some really bad security, I am immediately closing my account (should have done so earlier). I had 5 transactions of $30 each within 1 hour of each other from the same company... Come on paypal--- most credit cards don't let you even legitimately do two transactions with the same amount from the same store, unless it is manually overridden... Anyways, I have an idea where this came from: I was using some same passwords for various accounts (email, bank, etc.), well I got a couple emails saying that my email was compromised along with another email months later stating that my credit card info was compromised. I should have taken this seriously, and changed all my current passwords and not used the same one on all accounts. My advice to everyone is to change your passwords frequently and often, and don't use one password for every account (I know its a pain in the butt...JUST DO IT!)
I just got FIVE charges to my Pay-Pal within minutes of one another! While I'm at work! WTF?! I will be calling the Pay Pal customer service AND my bank as soon as they open. This is ridiculous!
Looks like this issue is still ongoing. I just had 5 unauthorized transactions of $30 each from my paypal account to Nexon America. I live in Canada and I have never heard of Nexon America before. I don't have kids and nobody else has access to my account. The transactions were made within minutes of each other and while I was asleep. I have reported it to paypal and changed all my passwords/security questions. This is pretty annoying although I must admit it was helpful to come across this page and see that I was not the only one who had this problem. Seems like there's a pattern too considering that more than a few here have had the same number of unauthorized transactions for the same amount.
yup happened to me too, 50 Euro from the Nexon Europe S.a.r.l.? Never heard of them before but that's about 70 American dollars and now I've been waiting about a week and still haven't seen resolution from Paypal
Hi, I'm from Australia & this morning I had 3 x $30 USD taken unauthorised from my Paypal account by Nexon America Inc. I to had not heard of them before this morning. I rang Paypal immediately and they are going to investigate! How are they still able to do this scam so many years down the track? I hope I get refunded as I can't afford to loose this much money. Just a follow up question have any of the people in the chat been refunded by Paypal? If so how long did it take? Thanks
We have received your comment. Thank you!
