BEWARE OF Nordic From Nipsco!
BEWARE OF Nordic From Nipsco! They make it seem like you are signing up to get a check back for being overcharged by your gas. NO! They are just signing you up to buy natural gas from them. I brought it up to sales man attention and he literally ran off my ramp. Confusing pitch and misleading. Can you say class action lawsuit! Slick tongues, people are struggling these days we don't need sheistynezz. So please Warsaw be careful signing up with them. Luckily, he input incorrect info of mine which gave me time to ask and clarify and decline signing up with them. The salesman literally says you will see the "adjustment" in two bill cycles.
Nordic energy company agent named Robyn **** did sign up fix rate electricity program in august and it expired in August
Nordic energy company agent named Robyn *** did sign up fix rate electricity program in august and it expired in August . After the contract expired, Robin *** forged my signature and make new contract for 2 years. It is confirmed by him that he forged my signature. He identified him self as a Chicago Bears player but he is a fraud. When I called him, he told me that he made a contract and forged the signature but he will cancel it and no action needed. Today I received a letter from the collection company for $2072.60. Do not trust this company nor Robin ***. I called couple of time, but now does not answer the phone. Be careful with this fraud and this company.
This company is the absolute worst! They are scammers with their rates. The reviews on social media prove this and they are a fraudulent company. My husband attempted two phone call to the customer service department to prove the fraud with a company letter of rates and dates. The customer service people must be trained to not honor their rates that they put in writing. They did not honor the letter sent to us from their company locking in a rate for 30days after our signed up 3 month rate. ZERO stars
These people are nothing more than liars and thieves. Absolutely do not get them. Or you to could end up crying wondering you're going eat this month when your gas bills goes from 70 dollars to 350 because of a scam.
Very upset they claimed to have cheaper 5 now my son and I are facing our utilities to be s*** off due to the rates being doubled compared to DTE. I was very upset and would not recommend .
Variable rate increased over 3 times original rate. Electric supply went from $64 to $209 over night. No questions asked no contract to show possible increase.Poor business. Stay away.
Would have given zero stars if I could!
Would have given zero stars if I could! Horrible company with dishonest and misleading practices. I switched over to use them as an alternative gas supplier under the misconception that it will save me money on the long run. Not so much! Realized I'm paying them MORE THAN TWICE what my energy company is charging per Mcf right now. When I called to question this, they informed me that the mail they send to notify me of the price increase was returned?! Complete B/S! Never had any mail returned. Think it's a customer service line they use to hide their deceptive practices. Won't get the money back I lost, but at least I was able to cancel and hopefully this serves as a warning for other people.
In May or June, one of Nordic's sales reps appeared on my doorstep; initially I thought he was actually with my current gas company, but soon realized it was a sales pitch. He explained that my utility company was a "middle man" and that Nordic could offer lower costs by supplying gas directly. To his credit he was very professional and friendly. Upon doing more research into their offer, I discovered that after a 90 day period, their rate would nearly TRIPLE. I rejected it and heard nothing for several months. Now, however, I have been receiving multiple calls each day, some minutes apart. I have blocked each number they've called from. The most recent one I answered very aggressively and asked that I be removed from their list. The rep who called was trying to shout over me, STILL trying to deliver his pitch.
Around 2018 I got a persistent knock on my door. There's a frat-boy looking guy from this company, and after repeatedly letting him know I'm not interested, he continues to persist. He starts asking questions like When is your spouse going to be home? When are you home alone? When is the house vacant? WTF? Fratboy shows up and starts asking a woman these questions, that's a big red "I plan to murder you" sign. They've come multiple times since then, and each time my spouse has answered the door. Oddly enough they didn't ask him the same questions. They do ask to see a copy of our electric ***, which, first off, no, I'm not showing them that, and secondly, paper bills have been antiquated for over 20 years. Now a few years later I get 3-7 calls a day from this company. Weekends and evenings included. I can't block the number because they just start calling from a different phone number. I've answered a couple of times and told them I'm not interested, but they won't remove my number and continue to call multiple times a day. I'm not sure if that legally qualifies as harassment, but it certainly feels like harassment. Their sales tactics are annoyance, harassment, intimidation, fear, and hoping the customer is an idiot.
A while ago someone came to our house to talk to us about our gas rates and was seeing if we would like to enroll with this gas company. The person told me that it was a company that would help pay for my gas *** and that I wouldn't pay for anything to go with them. It sounded too good to be true but the guy told me there was no risks and that they work with our gas company. I asked how can they just pay and the guy said its kind of like donation money in a way. I said sure why not and all they asked was for me to sign paperwork and such which i read. Fast forward a couple months and my regular $50 gas *** turns up to $210. I try to call customer service but the automated system sounded like it was talking on an airplane. Try for a couple more days and i finally get ahold of someone. They led me to believe that it was just a discount that they give to family's where I live but nothing like that at all. Dont apply and dont switch. Never during my meeting with that guy did he say anything like that would happen. There was another lady that came to talk to me about it a few months ago and she also never said anything about rising prices. I feel as if i got scammed out of $150 bucks. Would not recommend
I would rank a zero if I could. Consumer beware. Those nice people that come around urging you to switch to Nordic for energy costs are extremely misleading. After speaking with a rep and getting my gas price lowered I was under the impression that they would continue to price check and offer the better rates, I could not have been more wrong! After closer inspection on this months ***, because it has been colder and I have been home more, I noticed a huge increase in my ***. The charge was almost double what Semco was charging! Upon further inspection it has been that way for almost ten months and Nordic made no attempt to change prices to match the better pricing or to notify me that their price was almost double, sometimes triple! I called and the guy I spoke to was *** and condescending, the only offer he could make was cancelling Nordic, no offer to change the *** for the month or any sort of explanation for why the company does not take any responsibility or care to notify customers of major changes. They are very misleading when signing up, just to get you switched over. I am living in a low income housing complex and couldn't imagine how many other unsuspecting people are duped by this company, that cannot afford it. Shame on you Nordic.
I choose less than 1 star
I choose less than 1 star. I have had alternative suppliers before and they did as advertised - remained competitive. After the promised two months of lower rates than DTE, Nordic Energy immediately increased to outrageous, price gouging rates.Price Comparison: MONTH DTE NORDIC (per ccf) DEC-JAN *** ($13 saving) JAN-FEB *** ($20 saving) FEB-MAR *** ($133 loss) MAR-APR *** ($73 loss) APR-MAY *** ($63.50 loss)I immediately cancelled after the first ***, but transitions take two months! BEWARE - the losses will continue till the cancellation is complete. When I initially called to ask about the ***, certain there had been an error, I was told "This isn't a non-profit company". I have nothing against a company turning a profit. This however is pure, unadulterated theft.
Horrible customer service! The kid showed up with no identification then when when we wouldn't show him our consumers billing information he got and attitude and cocky with me. Called the company and they were almost as bad. I would leave 0 stars if i could. Stay away from these places they are nothing but a scam!
Well I can't leave zero stars, so I guess one will suffice. We had a couple door to door sales reps show up to our apt and felt very misled. They tried to make it sound like they were actually representing our current energy supplier but they needed to get some information to give us a better rate. My husband and I unfortunately and naively went along with everything and before we knew it, we were signed up to switch our energy over to Nordic. Once we realized our mistake, we immediately called Nordic and left a voicemail stating we did not want to begin services with them (the contract stated we had 3 days to cancel). This was on a Friday evening. We also faxed a request to cancel the next day. On Monday morning, I received a call from Nordic stating they had cancelled our contract and no services would begin with them. However, later that week I received letters from both our gas and electric companies stating we would be switching suppliers to Nordic Energy - so obviously they never cancelled anything. Luckily, I was able to speak directly with our gas and electric suppliers and request that we not switch suppliers. We fortunately we were able to resolve this, but no thanks to Nordic and their shady business practices. Definitely stay away from these guys!
Company will not stop calling at all hours. Harassment... Not interested.

Before you sign up with this company READ THE CONTRACT!
Before you sign up with this company READ THE CONTRACT! Every word. Do not simply change to a different energy group if you have already signed with Nordic Energy Services. They WILL charge you an extraordinary amount of money to leave them. In fact, do not sign up with them at all if at all possible. When asked why it would cost so much to leave them for a different energy provider it was explained that they have "gone out of there way to work out a discounted price for us and that takes money" so we need to pay for the three months of service that are left on our contract. I'm really not claiming to be a genius, but if we leave three months early, what exactly are you working on for us for those three months that would require money? Anyway, avoid like the plague. And, if you have happened to already signed up with these folks, READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE THEM!
Nordic was making door-to-door solicitations in my neighborhood on 01/02 (North Central Indiana)
Nordic was making door-to-door solicitations in my neighborhood on 01/02 (North Central Indiana). They initially alluded that they were a Nipsco representative (made a vague verbal statement and flashed an identification badge but they did have a knit hat that said Nordic on it). They told me that they were adjusting therm rates because the therm rates were accidentally raised to around .25 - .26 for this billing cycle and were there to adjust it down to .10 I kind of suspected something at that point but produced my bill and they confirmed that I was being billed at .26 per therm. At that point I questioned if they were a Nipsco employee and they then confirmed that they were with Nordic and explained my ability to choose gas suppliers and how I was being overcharged. I told them I wasn't interested in changing suppliers and they left. After reading multiple Complaintsboard.com complaints I wanted share my experience. I have also contacted *** to let them know that if a request to change my service provider is initiated that I did not authorize it and have no interest in their services.
A Nordic Energy rep contacted me on May 19, to offer supplier rates for my energy needs.
On May 19, a representative from Nordic Energy, identified as Agent 1001, contacted me to offer supplier rates for my electricity and gas services. The gentleman was very persistent, refusing to accept my refusal. I clearly stated my choice of another supplier, yet he called me four times that day. At around 7:25 p.m., he called again with an aggressive tone, still not accepting my decision. After two hang-ups, his persistence led me to temporarily agree to a contract, planning to cancel it the next day. I urge Nordic Energy to review this incident, especially the recorded call, and consider the representative's conduct for potential termination.

Nordic uses a marketing firm that has been harassing me since December 10th, They have called as many as 50 times in a day. I want my privacy back. They insist they will stop calling once I complete the 3rd party verification. It is affecting my health and I have instructed my husband to call a personal injury attorney should anything happen to me following a call from them. Literally, this marketing company is HARASSING ME and I need it to stop. I have to answer the phone since I work at home. I am not exaggerating, I am so upset that any energy company would use marketing services provided by stalkers. Yes, I am being stalked since they call all day. They promise if I go through the 3rd party verification that I will be put on the do not call list. I am already on the do not call list and should NOT have to put up with this harassment. I will complain to Complaintsboard.com every time they call me from here on until it stops. This has been non stop for over 90 days as they are vindictive and apparently want their commission. I asked how much $$ would it take to have them not call me anymore. They want me to complete the 3rd party verification and NOT ask any questions since they are still on the line. I will post the fake names I am given and perhaps that will help STOP this MADNESS.
During February I used 1,467 kWh
During February I used 1,467 kWh. I then started shutting off anything in my house that was running for an entire month including ceiling fans, my fan in my bedroom, and a space heater. Nothing was running in my house except for google hub and fish tank. Not even TV during the day and most evenings. I used 1,077 kWh on this current bill March and they hiked up the kWh price so my March bill ended up being 2 dollars more than my February bill! Even AFTER using approx. 400 kWh less! How can they do this to people in this economy! During a pandemic as an RN while I'm on disability! I cannot afford 230 dollar electric bills. Keep in mind that this is not GAS! ONLY electricity for a small 2 bedroom, 1 bath brick home. No basement. Single story. I have propane. This is not right. I was never notified of a 54.00 difference being added between the price of kWh. That's right, folks, 54.00 difference. Did they see that I used 400 kWh less and then decide to charge me more?! I cancelled Nordic Energy today. The woman kept saying that the price hike was due to the economy and the emergency need for energy that they had to pay. A few years ago, I thought we had a surplus of oil! $10 a barrel. I'm sick of being *** by these people when you try to control your usage and they end of charging you more! What is wrong with the world today is this. Keep the poor, poor.
Hello Reader, I know this looks long, but trust me it's worth reading
Hello Reader, I know this looks long, but trust me it's worth reading. This company that I have worked for in the past that I'm familiar with now is Universal Direct Marketing- Nordic Energy. This company did not seem to be applying the basic functions of planning, organizing, leading or controlling to benefit the organization because we had no residual income and would be required to show up for work at an office at 10am. We would goof off in the office with our manager Steven Swander until like 2pm. The fact that we had to get at at least 3 deals before we were allowed to go home. A deal was when we got someone to sign up with Nordic energy and completed a phone call. Once the customer completed the phone call we would get $40 for that 1 deal. If the customer caught on to us and realized they were basically being tricked and didn't complete the phone call we wouldn't get paid. If the Customer completed the phone call and their Gas bill was past due then we wouldn't get paid the $40 until the person paid their utility bill. It was difficult to get even 3 people to sign up. At first I couldn't understand why people wouldn't want to sign up with Nordic Energy if we were helping them save gas. After working for so long I finally paid attention to what was really happening during the phone call. I understood why my manager Steven Swander made us write YES or NO on their gas bill and tell them what to say. I then realized that we weren't supposed to be in the proximity of the customers during the phone call and understood why. The operator on the call knew there were scammers and they knew people play games and trick people and tell lies to sign people up. It is a devils game. "I'm too holy to keep doing this, what I'm doing is wrong" I would think to myself everyday. I felt bad for the elder and young people and first time renters that didn't know what we were doing. WAIT! don't stop reading, i'm almost done. It gets better. LOL. If we knocked on 100 doors 80% of people would not open the door, 17% would talk to us and then say no, maybe, or slam the door in our faces; and 3% would probably say yes and complete the call. We would walk in the hot 100 degree sun, the below 0 degree weather, rain, whatever the weather was we would go door to door for 8+ hours. My knuckles would be bruised and turn purple and swollen. nobody likes salesmen. especially when it comes to "lowering their utility bills". We would spend like 2 hours on lunch sometimes and window shopping. our boss would buy us things once. Our boss Steven Swander was more of a demanding friend then a boss. We had no flyers, no business cards, no nothing to prove we weren't a scam. What we were doing was technically illegal. And I was a part of it. I felt guilty every day I worked. we were basically demanding people's utility bills with lies and manipulating people into thinking they'd have a cheaper gas bill. The operator on the call would give out an "out of service" phone number. People couldn't call and cancel if they wanted to. This job was A complete mess. Our boss Steven Swander would lie to new people about what really goes on in the office and what's really on the "Code of Conduct". Which was easy for him because PEOPLE DON'T LIKE TO READ. People don't read through paperwork their signing or putting their social security number on. A job is A job. Steven Swander would call people a "f*cking retard", he would call some women a "[censored] including myself. When I threatened to quit then he stopped calling me a B word unless he got mad but not the others. He would vape tobacco products in front of his employees. He would make Racist black jokes. He would send the black people & mexicans to the areas that were ruined by multiple gas suppliers and would work with his white direct assistants or any white person in areas that weren't run through by gas suppliers so that they could get more deals, or why ever he did it. I hated when he did that. Ugh. I highly disliked this job. There was a lack of planning, organizing, leading and controlling to benefit the organization. Honestly, I wouldn't change anything about this job except shut it down. Period.

False information
I had a solicitor come to my door and ask if I had already signed up to get a 10% discount only to find out I’m being charged for a second energy supplier! I was told I would be receiving a credit on my electric bill due to a solar panel location in my area that was cutting the cost down. I was assured I wouldn’t pay anything extra and it was going to save me money and I would see it on my next bill. All I see is an additional amount added to my bill.
Desired outcome: Remove fee charged to my bill I did not agree to paying.
Door to door soliciting
On Saturday, July 29th at 2:04, a door to door representative came to my door and read off that NYSEG needs to pick a new supplier for me and I should have received an email about it. I never did. I naively signed up and went right to the internet and found out they double charge accounts and spike the fixed rates. I have contact customer service and provided it that I dont want to be a customer and my old service was fine.
Desired outcome: Cancelation of service and not to be charged by a shoddy company.
A Nordic Energy Sales rep appeared at my door on a Saturday afternoon
A Nordic Energy Sales rep appeared at my door on a Saturday afternoon. He lied to me saying that my building is switching to Nordic Energy and insisted me to give him my electricity bill. Then, he forced me to put my name, my electricity utility account number, my phone number, and my email address on his tablet. He also forced me to sign that and himself checked all the boxes. He said that he is in a rush as he needs to go to all the other residents and make them switch. The guy looked very shady, however, had an id of ***. He told me that I will be getting a phone call soon and put him on the speaker, and I shouldn't talk. He was very adamant and he forced me to do all the signatures. I was perplexed and confused and hence I acted. But when the phone call did not come, I asked him to leave immediately. I looked up 'Nordic Energy Scams' and when I read about similar experiences, I was sure I was scammed. I demand a statement from Nordic Energy that they are not using any of the stolen information. If they do, I will take legal action against the company.

Nordic Energy has been calling me multiple times a day for the last week, always from different numbers. When I block one number, they call me from another number. I filled out the contact form on their website asking to be put on their do not call list. I have been on the National Do Not Call Registry since 2007.
They call many times throughout the day. I've asked them to remove me from the list. If calls are recorded, why aren't you removing me? I have blocked them and they call from a different number. They are incessant and call mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, holidays, etc... Shame on you Nordic Energy. I hope you catch an FTC ban.
11-23-2022 I got a visit from a guy claiming to here to check my natural gas bill and reduce my rate. He would not identify what company he worked for, just said he was from " the gas company" . I asked if there were any extra charges, monthly or otherwise, he said no, just a rate reduction. I said OK. He started to sign me up and I received a call from his company to confirm my identity and to confirm gas company change from DTE to Nordic. I immediately said NO, I DONT WANT TO CHANGE, I WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NORDIC. Caller hung up. I asked salesperson at my door why he concealed who the company was that he represented. He said he didn't think that was important, that he was a legitimate salesperson here to save me money. I told him politely to leave and he did. I want no more contact from this company whatsoever. I also want to make sure they didn't sign me up to change supplier, because I told them no on the confirmation call.
Nordic energy calls my cell phone multiple time a day going on several weeks now - I am on the *** do not to call list but Nordic keeps calling - cannot get them to stop

On 6/29/22 a representative from Nordic Energy was soliciting for this company to help with better natural gas prices..She claimed she was working with Consumers Energy, She was talking with my husband he showed her our *** where she took the information from..The *** is in my name..She was trying to get to where you have to agree on the switch but his phone was blocking it from going through, she kept trying to push buttons on his phone while I was holding it..I politely told her I was not interested in switching my gas company, she kept trying to get it to go through.. again I said I'm not interested in changing so she left..In a couple of days I received the contract for Nordic Energy thanking me for choosing them as my gas company..I never signed anything never gave my permission to change..This is scamming people who never agreed for this company to switch my primary gas company..I hope this can be resolved so they don't do it to anyone else..I do not remember the girls name that was here we had a short, very short conversation. I did not give permission nor did I sign anything giving my consent for this company to be my gas company..

My home was approached by a man 5hat claimed to be from Nordic Energy and I am not sure if they even provide coverage in our part of ***. But he wanted the last page of our bill and the man was not dressed professionally at all. He did not have a company shirt or a company card. He told me that they have tried contacting me plenty of times and were unsuccessful and then asked for my phone number. I told him if they have tried to contact me then they would have my phone number so I asked for a company badge and he tried to show me some generic looking badge on his phone. He started getting shake and stumbling his words he eventually left and was not driving a company vehicle or anything.
Harassing. Calls daily, multiple times during the day. When you go to answer the call, it hangs up on you. I have them blocked but I can see every time they call. Its horrible, especially when you cant tell someone to stop calling you!
Good afternoon I been getting phone calls from Nordic Energy and they call from different numbers almost 10 times a day. Whenever I tell them to take my number off their list, they rudely hang up. If you can get them to stop, I would be very grateful because this is getting very annoying. Thank you for your time.
I am complaining on behalf of Sifa Uwilingiye, who does not speak English well and cannot read
I am complaining on behalf of Sifa Uwilingiye, who does not speak English well and cannot read. On Feb. 24, 2022, people came to her door, told her they were with the gas company, and convinced her to sign a contract she could not read and did not understand. She was completely unaware she was agreeing to a 36-month contact with Nordic Energy. Under the terms of the contract, which were subsequently mailed to her, her rate is fixed for the first two months of the contract and then "the price will be a variable rate determined in the sole discretion of Nordic Energy Services, LLC. ... Nordic Energy's prices do not have a limit on variability." In my opinion, these terms are unconscionable, and when I translated them, *** was strongly opposed to this contract and said she had no intention to agree to those terms. In fact she was unaware at the time that she was signing any agreement with any gas company other than her existing gas company. According to the letter provided, she had only seven days from receiving the letter to cancel the contract with her service provider. As I only go to her home once per week to help her read her mail, the deadline had passed by the time I discovered what she had been tricked into signing.

A door to door salesmen started beating my door I come down and ask what is going on? He claimed he was from AES and he is here to verify my bill.Next thing I know he is coaching me into this contract. Told me to lie to the person on the phone about his presence. I asked if I can ask questions was told no. I have severe hearing loss and scar tissue to the left side of my face from the war.I felt fishy so I did some searching what these people do is criminal.i have tried to call and email them. For days Please Im begging you guys I dont deserve this I cant afford this. I feel deceived and betrayed. Help me
9/23/2022 I was approached by a Nordic sales representative the guy was very insistent on getting my account number to give me a fixed rate on my gas bill. He persisted on it until I gave it to him. He then took my information down and said I would get a text to my phone when that text came in he grabbed my phone and opened the message. He then checked boxes off my phone and hit submit. I received a call from a number in *** at that time he took my phone out it on mute and was trying to talk to me so I wouldnt hear what the man was saying. The person never left and made sure I said yes to everything I feel like I was scammed. If Nordic has any of my information I do NOT want there services!
I am constantly getting spam calls from these people on my landline phone from various area codes, mostly (574). I don't want any more calls from these people.
I entered into a 3 month contract with Nordic Energy on 11/30 for a fixed rate plan at a rate 0.04799/kwh
I entered into a 3 month contract with Nordic Energy on 11/30 for a fixed rate plan at a rate 0.04799/kwh. However, I was then charged for the billing period of Jan 26, 2022 to Feb 23, 2022 at a rate of 0.117/kwh. I received this *** on 2/27/2022 and contacted Nordic Energy on 2/27/2022. Nordic Energy responded that the contract was not accepted because I was not a new customer. However, the notification I received on 11/30 clearly indicated that a contract had been agreed upon ("Your 3 month contract with Nordic Energy was agreed to and enrolled on 11/30"), at the rate of 0.04799/kwh. Furthermore I did not received any subsequent communication to the contrary. The contract required Nordic Energy to send two written notifications of any proposed changes to the plan ("whenever Nordic proposes to change the terms of this Agreement, Nordic will send you two separate written notices"). I did not received any such notifications. I reached out to their customer service multiple times. The last communication I received from them stated that the information had been sent to a supervisor. I never heard back from them and my last message to Nordic Energy customer service went unanswered (3/4/2022). I have attached the agreed upon contract and the correspondence I have had with Nordic Energy.

Someone showed up at my door pretending to be from my last electric carrier ( NRG) and tricked me into signing up with a new carrier ( NORDIC ENERGY ). Iam a senior citizen and I feel like I was targeted by this employee! Each time I call I get a message that the company is closed. Can you please help me cancel this fake contract Please?
Nordic Energy sends strangers to knock on your door to sell there very expensive energy which now I realized they are putting women, children, and the elderly in danger you don't know these sales reps they could be *** perverts, convicts ,thieves or drug addicts Nordic doesn't care they just want you to switch to them. So I opened my first bill from Nordic they are charging me double then my old company. they are charging me 131 for delivery when my old company charged me 50 for years. If Nordic was fair and honest with me they could have a loyal customer for years and years but instead you put me in danger with your sale reps then lied to me about having the best rates and overcharging more than your competitors.
In October we signed with Nordic Energy to provide our electric service
In October we signed with Nordic Energy to provide our electric service. At that time we agreed to a fixed rate of .0536/kWh. Recently we've noticed an unreasonable increase in our electric bill. After dissecting our current charges and pulling records from the last year, we've come to realize that Nordic Energy has increased our rate by more than 300% to .216/kWh. This was done without notice. Due to this drastic increase, our electric bill has sky-rocketed to unfathomable, unaffordable amounts. Initially, when we saw an increase in our bill the last few months we assumed it had to do with increased costs. At that time, our bill had significantly increased, but after our most recent bill, which was far greater, we realized there was more to it. While we understand commodities fluctuate, Nordic Energy is charging us more than what is reasonable and did it all with a bait and switch tactic, luring us into a contract with an enticing introductory rate and drastically increasing without notification. This is not a mere matter of inflation and increased rates on Nordic Energy's side. Upon further investigation, we've been able to find multiple suppliers offering long-term contracts with fixed rates at .07/kWh, a third of what we're currently being charged. We want a refund for *** July and August when we've been charged .18, .20 and .21/kWh respectively. This is price gouging and Nordic Energy needs to be held accountable.

I signed up for electric and gas through Nordic Energy back in March this year
I signed up for electric and gas through Nordic Energy back in March this year. The introductory rate was around $0.04 per kWh then it would switch to a variable rate. I got my *** for last month and I was completely shocked that my new rate was $0.18 per kWh! Thats 450% more than the intro rate! This is predatory and price gouging! The current average rate is around $0.06 per kWh. I didnt notice the increase 2 months ago due to some extra credits that were applied to my ***. But in looking back my rate for *** was $0.16 kWh. Still an insane amount. This is totally unreasonable and when I called Nordic Energy to get their explanation, the customer service rep was rude and totally unwilling to work with me on anything. Her only response was that they cant control or know ahead of time what the variable rate is going to be. Just a bad excuse. They know exactly what theyre doing. They entice you with a super low rate and you expect them to be reasonable after the rate change. But they price *** and take complete advantage of their customers. I asked their customer service to rectify this unreasonable pricing and the only solution they offered was to cancel my service with them. They refused to give me a refund for an actual reasonable rate like I asked. This is an absolutely terrible company. Im not sure how what they are doing is even legal! This needs to be corrected now! And they need to stop misleading customers and taking advantage of them!

Basically they lied to me
Basically they lied to me. I still have the paper that the door to door salesmen from Nordic left with me stating that my high rates from one of my old suppliers could be lowered if I came to Nordic Energy as my supplier. I believe I was paying around 14 pet kilowatt. They wrote down on my old bill that they could bring it down to six and it wouldn't get over eight at the time. I understand that as cost go up the consumer always eats the difference. It's greed and it's just the American way. So I enjoyed a low rate for awhile I guess. I really failed because I put trust in them. I thought they was there to help me. Through the pandemic they continued to raise my rates. I had so much other things on my mind because I have kids and my wife that have medical issues. I really didn't pay attention to how high my rates was going up. Every year they continued to raise them. Ameren is my provider. Their rates are high for industry standards at 10 cents a kilowatt. Nordic was changing me over 20 cents a kilowatt. They took advantage of me. They lied to me. I knew the rate would eventually go up. All prices rise as time progresses. What I didn't expect is for Nordic, it seems as if price gouging doesn't bother them. If the industry standard is way lower, why did they choose to continue to raise the rates higher and higher. This company should be ashamed of the way they do business a d the government should step in and investigate them. A class action lawsuit should follow and that money should be in the hands of everyone that they stole from.

This company kept sending young people to my home to get me to change my Electric supplier
This company kept sending young people to my home to get me to change my Electric supplier. After the third person I gave in and signed on January 2022. I was told that my Electric Rate was high and that Nordic would never charge me more than *** per kwh and that I would be saving money on my monthly bill. I did sign an agreement on the sales person phone and never received a copy of that agreement. So for the first 3 months my rate was as they said *** kwh starting in April my rate went up and every month their after it kept increasing so they lied to me. Just received my August bill and it was $392. for a small 2 bedroom apartment which is ridiculously high. I looked at the rate and its now at *** kwh I was so irate how will I pay for this on my low income... They had assured me over and over that this would not happen, that even if this company's price goes up but it would always be a little lower than the others and it would definitely not skyrocket. Well that's exactly what happened. Its more than doubled the competitor's rate which currently its at ***. So I googled for their contact info I saw they has so many complaints. How can they get away with scamming so many people who are struggling to pay their bills...?When I called to cancel and asked the customer service rep for a $200 credit, he was very rude and gave me an attitude and said we can not give you any credit all I can do is cancel your contract without penalty and hung up on me! I was like what just happened they scammed and lied to me then are rude when I called.

I signed up for electric and gas through Nordic Energy back in May this year
I signed up for electric and gas through Nordic Energy back in May this year. The introductory rate was around $0.0499 per kWh then it would switch to a variable rate. I got my bills for August and September and I was completely shocked that my new rate was $0.1973 per kWh! Thats 400% more than the intro rate and 250% above ***s LMP! This is predatory, bait and switch and price gouging! The current average rate is around $0.07 per kWh within the *** footprting. The Nordic Energy rate is significantly higher than any market rate for electric. This is totally unreasonable and when I called Nordic Energy to get their explanation on 9/13/22, the customer service placed a request for the manager to call me and promised a return call with in 48 hours, to this date I have not received a call back. They know exactly what theyre doing. They entice you with a super low rate and you expect them to be reasonable after the rate change, and later increase the price well above market rate without notice or communication, and take complete advantage of their customers. These practices should be illegal and are obviously unethical. I began to research this issue and found that this is a common compliant listed in the Complaintsboard.com. I am seeking to have this resolved and I am requesting a refund that is inline with acceptable market rate of 0.072/kWh, which would result in a refund of $487.40 for the two months of over inflated rate. This needs to be corrected now! They need to stop misleading customers and taking advantage of them! I am honestly surprised the *** allows this to happen.

On my way out of the door to run some errands I was greeted by three reps from Nordic Energy
On my way out of the door to run some errands I was greeted by three reps from Nordic Energy. They told me they worked with DTE and were there to lower my gas bill. They asked to see my bill and said they would look at what I paid to see if I could save any money. They said they could save me money and the "new girl" Madison (as named by another rep there) began entering information from my bill into her phone. As Madison was filling out the info on her phone I thought I heard her mumble "this is messed up" under her breath while the other rep was talking to me. I was asked to sign to prove that the reps did their jobs and in a rush I mistakenly signed not yet realizing what was happening, then they left. I kept thinking about what Madison had said so when I got back home I did some research and found out that they switch your gas supplier to their company and will charge you way more than what the local gas company does after a 3 month period. I tried to contact their customer service line just an hour after the interaction to cancel, but could not get a hold of anyone. The contact form on their website sends you to an error page, probably to avoid someone like me canceling the service immediately after signing. Based on reviews I read here they make it hard to contact them for cancellation and will also refuse to send you confirmation and continue to charge you. I am satisfied with my current gas bill, I do not want it to go up, and I don't want to switch suppliers. They took advantage of my nicety and my situation. If I had known the truth behind their intentions I never would have signed or even spoke with them in the first place.
This just happened
This just happened. 10/21/2022 at about 7:15pm. This man knocked on my door and stated his name is *** and he works with AES, my energy supplier. He stated that *** was sending him around to check and see who was delivering our energy. He stated that we were not supposed to be receiving our supply from out of state. He asked to see my bill. I asked him if I could just call AES to sort this all out and he said they would just send him back out. He said that they sent out a letter but because I didn't respond they sent him out. He said that he had already found 6 other Apts here that were being charged incorrectly. I showed him my bill and he said that he needed to input my info in his spreadsheet then I would receive a call from a Nordic representative verifying my information. He said that they would ask if he was still here and instructed me to tell them no. He motioned me to put the call on speaker phone. I answered the call when it came in from *** and answered some of the ladies questions after she asked if she had my permission to record the phone call. She rattled off a customer service number I asked her to hold on while I got a pen so I could write the # down. *** I walked into my apt and shut the door behind me, i wrote down the number and told the woman that something didn't feel right about all of this and wanted to cancel all of this. I told her that this guy was standing there the whole time and that he told me to tell her he was gone. She said she was going to cancel everything and stated that if I changed my mind I could call that number back. I opened the door and told the guy everything was done. He asked if i got a verification number and i told him "Yes, its all been handled." Then he said okay and i shut the door. That was very intimidating, scary and frustrating! Even if I did want to change my supplier I would Never choose Nordic after this experience! This is horrible business practice!

After making arrangements to avoid disconnection with Met. They inform*** us we have been using an outside supplier, why our bill was so high. I repeatly ask*** them to review My documents to compare signatures even offer*** more if ne*** be. They said they won't review my documents because they don't use them to verify information. I explain since my bill comes in mets name, and my name and email was no list*** on there enrollment I never got notification of this change. Which has cost me more than double for 3 years, forcing me to let my gas shut off months back till current day, to have lights on, if they had a better way of verifying signatures, or even sending their own bills this would of been caught sooner. But it's put me in debt *** with met *** and because of choosing to pay electric over gas I have a balance of *** with my gas company. Their company charg*** me over double the amount met*** would of bill*** me for 3 years. And only offer*** to give a crit of four hundr*** dollars. This company came to my door (door to door salesman) in a mobile home park, Dupont Estates, in Fort Wayne
This company came to my door (door to door salesman) in a mobile home park, Dupont Estates, in Fort Wayne. IN. My park manager has told me the are on private property and have been told to not solicite several times on this property. I was not aware at the time of that information. This was in October . The man claimed he could lower my gas bill, I didn't really understand how but he said they were a company that can lower the bill. They had some promotion that you did not pay for the first 6 months or so then my bill would be lower. My gas bill is billed through Nipsco and I am on budget pay for $66.95 my bill had gone from that amount to $194 (in the month of May - due in June ). Nispco said my usage was the same as last year and the only difference on my bill was this 3rd party nordic energy who delivers the gas. Why on earth am I paying 2 companies to do the same the service!? Nordic Energy lied about my bill being lowered, in fact it has nearly tripled at this point. They need to stop lying about that just to get anyone to sign up for their business and explain in better details what they are actually doing which is charging you the same as nispco is charging you as well and after 6 months you will see a surprise bill that is nearly tripled the amount you normally pay! I have since called and "canceled" my contract with Nordic Energy but the lady who answered, Joanne, was not very professional and could not explain to me why I would not receive a confirmation email or letter stating I had canceled the contract. She claimed it was Nipsco who had to cancel me with Nordic. Makes no sense at all! She also had a baby crying in the background in the phone so it sounds like a scam to me. I am also reporting them to Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. For I had no idea they would be charging me for the same service as Nispco already was... I am requesting a refund of the money they are asking me to pay. (NISPCO SAID I HAVE TO PAY THEM my remaining balance)
I signed up with Nordic Energy for a 3 month contract for a reduced electric rate
I signed up with Nordic Energy for a 3 month contract for a reduced electric rate. I was enrolled on 10/18. Per letter I received I could cancel with written notice or verbal notice at any time without any cancellation fees. I received a letter in the mail in January stating that my 3 month term was almost over and I could continue service at a higher rate or cancel service. They said they would send me a letter with the new rate information within 30 days. I never received anything and called and emailed twice in January after I received the letter. I did not hear anything back. I requested the new rate since I didn't receive anything in the mail and then to cancel service. I received a phone call 01/27 confirming my request to cancel service. I then spoke to someone 02/01 confirming over the phone again. She said the service would be cancelled as of that day and I didn't need to do anything else or follow up with my electric company. I received a new *** the end of February that showed I was still being billed from Nordic. I called them and they said they sent First Energy a cancellation email and have not heard back. I asked them how long that takes, she said could take up to 2 months. I told them no one ever told me that and it shouldn't take that long to cancel service. If I signed up for a 3 month contract and it takes 2 months to cancel service, then I would of needed to do that 1 month into my contract. Makes no sense. I told them to send another cancellation email and I will follow up with my electric company. I called First Energy as soon as I hung up and they confirmed to me that they never received a cancellation notice and that it when they receive those emails, they cancel service within *** hrs. I never takes as long as Nordic stated. I requested them to cancel my service since Nordic hasn't done that. I contacted Nordic back and explained my frustration and requested my service be backdated since it was their fault. They never contacted me back.

We just bought our house and shortly after we moved in we had these young kids show up asking us to help them out by switching our rates from the *** to Nordic because at the time their rates were better. Today on my bill, it shows $0.19 p/ KW I almost died. I immediately called the *** to find out what had happened and their rates were $0.07 p/ KW. The *** told me I can absolutely switch back to my lower rate but to call Nordic First to make sure they don't charge me a cancellation fee and make me locked in under contract. So I called Nordic and go to customer service. They didn't even the phone like professionals. It was "Hello, how can I help you?" No verification of account anything other than that person telling me my address. She told me there would be no cancellation fee or no other charges and literally ended the conversation. I feel like that was not confirmed and that they should be refunding me for all these astronomical charges and they lied when they said my rates were at $0.04 when they sent their team of young kids to my door making me think I was benefiting from their program. No instruction other than to give them my bill. They took a picture of it on their phone and then it all felt weird after that. I don't normally check my bills, just pay automatically monthly with the rest of my bills. But When I saw my bill doubled in one month over $500 for no additional consumption, If my city hadn't put a message up on their *** page about NOPEC and false rates, I would have never known. The kicker- I am in the middle of my billing cycle. So ***. Agent confirmed that my next bill also be doubled again with those dollars going to Nordic for literally a SCAM. There is not way to stop it. I have to have power in our house, I have a Type 1 Diabetic child and needs to keep his insulin cold. This is not ok. I show all bills to show increases. What are monthly charges for, I want all refunded

Nordic Energy charged me 2.5 times of the contract rate, and claimed "we didn't do anything wrong"
Nordic Energy charged me 2.5 times of the contract rate, and claimed "we didn't do anything wrong". You can see such Bait-and-Switch tactic in other complaints against them.On January 24th, 2022, I signed up for an electric utility rate plan with Nordic Energy for 2 months at $0.04999/kWh, which should be in effect from February 22th to the billing period end in April, 2022. I received an email confirmation with a contract indicating the rate $0.04999 for 2 months on the same day (attached as "*** Gmail - Utility Contract Confirmation.pdf"). I then received another email from a Nordic Energy named *** asking me to provide Service Delivery Identifier, which I provided next day. Throughout the whole communication, *** never mentioned any issue or "rejection" about the contract, as you can see in attached "*** Gmail - RE Copy of Utility Contract.pdf". I got my *** on March 23rd, and saw I was charged at $0.[protected] instead of $0.04999 for the period of 02/22/22 - 03/22/22. I called Nordic Energy, and they said I was in a contract with them before, and the $0.04999 rate was for brand new customers only, so the plan I signed up for was rejected. I was not aware of this until today (March 25th, 2022), because I've never received any communication from Nordic Energy about the "rejection". They said it shows on their website "new customer only". I did not see anything like that until today, when I went on their website looking hard for it. As you can see in attached "[protected]_nordic_energy_nofootnote.jpg", there is no indication of "new customer only" when you are looking at their rate information and sign up option. You'll have to scroll way down the page to see this very tiny font about "new customers only" (attached as "[protected]_nordic_energy_footnotehardtofind.jpg"), which is unclear and misleading to customers. Nordic Energy needs to re-rate the period of February 22th to the billing period end in April, 2022 at $0.04999/kwh.

They are a scamthere is no customer service. They do not call back or return phone calls. Fortunately, I called Consumers right away and they were able to put a block on my account. Buyer beware!
These people tried to sign me up. I said no, let me do my homework and guess what. They signed me up without my consent. The person who violated my consent is ***. Agent Code TIS9172. This person is slimy, do not let him in your house or near your kids.
They are very rude and pushy when I am home alone. They scare me. He doesn't need to know when my husband that I don't have will be home. I told them in an hour and never answered the door after.
