Oak furnitureland UK Terrible Experience with Oak Furniture Land: Poor Customer Service and Multiple Delivery Issues

I had a really bad experience ordering furniture from Oak Furniture Land. It was such a hassle and not worth the effort. Their customer service was just okay and they didn't really go out of their way to help me correct my order.

I ordered the Hercules dining table with 8 chairs and brown check seat covers in the middle of September at the store. The customer service inside the store was great and I paid extra to have it delivered within 2 days.

On Friday morning, the delivery men came and I was excited to receive my order. However, what was delivered was someone else's cancelled order. It was the same table but with completely different chairs. I decided to keep the table and the delivery men took back the chairs. When I opened the table, I found out that the metal pole to extend the table was bent and wouldn't extend. Also, the wood had a small split on the side of the table. I called customer services but they had no record of my previous calls. After the third time of calling, they arranged for me to have my correct chairs and another table top delivered. However, I had to wait for 1 and a half weeks.

I received a text message with my allocated time slot and was told I would receive a 30-minute phone call beforehand. However, the delivery came before the time slot and I wasn't around. I had no call to say they would be 30 minutes early. Finally, the second table top and 8 chairs arrived. When I opened the table top, I found out that the table had completely split on one side. The chairs were fine but the seat covers weren't. I had 6 brown check which I wanted and 2 beige. I called customer service straight away and they said they could arrange another delivery in a couple of days. They apologized but didn't offer to quality check the furniture before it was delivered. I am now waiting for my 3rd table and chair covers to be delivered but I won't know what it looks like until it arrives as Oak Furniture Land doesn't quality check.

I wouldn't recommend going with Oak Furniture Land because you will just spend over a month unpacking and packing the boxes back up for them to just "Keep Trying" to get it right. They are supposed to be selling top of the range wooden furniture but they can't even organize their furniture to be quality checked and delivered on time.

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Workmanship and Customer Service from Oak Furniture Land

Yo, so I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the stuff I got from Oak Furniture Land. I mean, I was just chillin' on Christmas Eve, watching TV and looking at the hot mess of a TV cabinet I got from them. The shelves were all janky and had gaps of like 12mm or more. And when I complained, they tried to tell me it was for "expansion" or some BS like that. Like, come on, man.

So I decided to hit them up with an email, telling them how whack their workmanship was and how I wasn't gonna stand for it. And I kept at it, sending email after email until they finally asked me what I wanted. And I was like, "I want my money back, ASAP."

And you know what? They actually did it. They collected the furniture and gave me a full refund. So props to them for that, I guess. But honestly, I'm not gonna be shopping with them again. I found a way better store nearby with way better customer service. And apparently, I'm not the only one who's had issues with Oak Furniture Land. So if you're thinking about buying from them, I'd say think twice. But if you do and you're not happy, don't take no for an answer. Keep hitting up their customer service until they give you what you want.

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Delivery and Customer Service Experience with Oak FurnitureLand - Not Recommended

I recently made a purchase from Oak FurnitureLand and was disappointed to find that two out of the three pieces of furniture I received were damaged. I visited their Huddersfield showroom and had a great shopping experience, but unfortunately, the delivery did not meet my expectations. The sideboard was so damaged that we left it in the box, and the small end table had an 8-inch scratch across the top. It took me over 45 minutes to get through to customer services, and when I finally did, they arranged to replace the damaged pieces.

On the day of the delivery, the delivery men swapped the furniture, but I was disheartened to find that the replacement end table was fine, but the sideboard had a 3 and a half inch scratch on the front, in the same area as the previous extensively damaged piece. I tried to contact customer services again, but I did not receive a reply to my email, so I had to call them again. It took over 50 minutes to get through, and I was offered a technician to come and polish out the scratch. However, I was not satisfied with this solution and asked for a refund instead.

To my surprise, the customer service representative was not very understanding and said that the scratch was only small. I was frustrated with the lack of respect for the inconvenience I had gone through and asked for a discount for the goods that would be reduced if they were on sale damaged. After some back and forth, I was offered a refund of only £65, which I felt was an insult given the amount of money I had spent.

Overall, I would not recommend Oak FurnitureLand to anyone. While the shopping experience was great, the delivery and customer service left a lot to be desired. The refund offered was not enough to compensate for the inconvenience and frustration I experienced, and I was left feeling like I was being unreasonable for complaining.

Oak furnitureland UK Unleashing the Power of Creativity: A Review of 'The War of Art' by Steven Pressfield

I am a disabled mum and I went into my new local Southend store to purchase a sofa, I spotted a very nice one and immediately I had a salesman try and press me into taking out finance to purchase it. I was adamant that I did not want to have myself tied to finance and I started to get aware that he was very forceful in his approach. I left the store.
A couple of weeks later, I returned - the same salesperson was there and recognised me. I said I was there to purchase the sofa, but was not going to take out any finance. (Now, I, on both occasions was sitting on a mobility scooter and had to walk with a pair of crutches, we talked about my lack of mobility and the fact that I have a spinal cord injury - this will be of importance later on in my complaint). So, after a couple of minutes, talking and asking questions about the sofa, (and the fact that the man worked at Harvey's previously, as we had commented on their delivery tactics and that OFL does free delivery), I assumed everything else was the same.
It wasn't until I had parted with my money and that I noticed the man filling out the forms ticking the boxes for me, without letting me read them, I got a bit suspicious and started asking him what he was doing. His reply was 'Oh, that's the colour you chose, that's the electric seats, that's the style of sofa', etc, etc Then he asked me to sign the documents, which I did, Then he printed them off and I noticed he neglected to tell me that he'd ticked the boxes to say I had agreed to pay extra to a failed delivery, to unpack and put together all my own sofa at my own cost! I mean I ask you?! Do I look able to do that myself?! He knew full well that I couldn't and he took advantage of me! I was furious! The delivery date was not suitable and so I text back 'No', so was expecting an alternative delivery date, nope, I was given the same date. So I decided to get a refund, because, by this time, I had decided that I had had enough. The customer service persons were not able to guarantee me someone to help put the furniture together. They pointed out that they did a 'white glove service' for people in wheelchairs or who were disabled, I said that I was disabled and no such service was offered to me. That's it, I said, I want a refund, she said she didn't blame me. She had to transfer my call onto a different team. Then when I rang to ask for a refund, the person at the end of the phone slammed the phone down on me! Yep, don't shop with this company - very unprofessional. I still haven't received the e-mail confirmation as promised to say that I am getting my 1199. 99GBP back - I'd better, or there will be some serious repercussions.

Oak furnitureland UK Terrible Experience with Oak Furnitureland: False Guarantees and No Delivery

I recently had a terrible experience with Oak Furnitureland and I would not recommend them to anyone. My partner and I placed an order in October and were promised a guaranteed delivery date of Tuesday 18 December. However, when we decided to opt for a fixed delivery date, we were informed that we would have to pay an additional £39. This was not made clear to us until we were ready to pay.

On the day of delivery, we received a text message stating that our furniture would arrive between 2-5pm. However, by 4.30pm, we had not received our delivery and when we called to inquire, we were told that there was a one-hour delay. After 5pm, we received a call informing us that our furniture was not even out for delivery and that it was never on the truck. We were promised that it would be redelivered by Friday, but after several days of constant assurances, we were finally told that it was not in stock and that we would not be able to receive it at all.

It became clear to us that Oak Furnitureland had no intention of delivering our furniture. We were told in the store that the furniture was made to order, so how could it just disappear? We were constantly lied to and misled. The 'guarantee' they offer is a complete sham and we were left disappointed and without the furniture we had ordered. We were also left with an empty living room and no furniture to sit on, just days before Christmas with guests coming over.

We tried to contact their customer service department, but were left waiting in a queue for up to 40 minutes. When we finally spoke to someone, they transferred us to a different department, only to put us back in the phone queue for another 20 minutes. It was a complete waste of time.

We will be seeking a refund once the showrooms are open again and we plan to confront the manager in person. We will also be contacting Trading Standards and posting our experience on as many review sites as possible. Oak Furnitureland is a disreputable company that will tell you anything to get your money, but they simply do not deliver. Do not waste your time or money with them.

Oak furnitureland UK Nightmare Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK: Missing Items, Wrong Pieces, and Terrible Customer Service

I recently made a big purchase from Oak Furnitureland UK (oakfurnitureland.co.uk) and unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory. I spent a whopping ?1500 on a sofa with a footstool, clock, 2 lamps, and a mirror. The delivery date was set for February 5th, 2019, between 12:30 and 15:30.

On the morning of the delivery, I received a call informing me that the footstool would not be delivered due to an error. I was disappointed but agreed to have it delivered on Friday, February 8th, after 3:30 pm due to work commitments. I had taken unpaid leave on the 5th and paid for express delivery, which I was assured would be refunded.

When the goods arrived, I noticed that the mirror was missing. I asked the delivery men about it, and they told me it was not on my order and that I would have to contact the store. To make matters worse, I found out that I had been sent two of the same pieces when I unwrapped the couch.

I immediately called Oak Furniture Land to report the error, and I was told that I would receive a phone call. I did receive a call, and I was informed that my goods could not be delivered until Friday. I agreed, but I made it clear that I would not be home before 3:30 pm. I was assured that this would be taken care of.

I then called the Oak Furniture Land store in Speke, where I made my initial purchase, and discovered that the mirror had not even been added to my order. I had to take the time to drive to the store to rectify the problem.

On February 7th, I received an email stating that my order would be delivered between 9 am and 12 pm. This was unacceptable as I had informed four members of staff that I would not be home. I called the office to rectify the problem, but I was told that the notes stated I would not be home until after 3:30 pm. I was promised a call back at 12 pm, but it never happened. I had to call the company back myself, and I was told that someone had tried to call me, but they got the security questions wrong. This was obviously not me, and the wrong number was called.

Finally, a member of staff informed me that the issue had been resolved, and my goods would be delivered at 3:30 pm. Although I requested a copy of the confirmation, I was informed that it was not possible. However, I received a call at 9:40 am on February 8th, informing me that my delivery would be in 30 minutes. This was a farce as four members of staff had confirmed that it would not be delivered until after 3:30 pm. I had to arrange for my mother-in-law to receive the delivery, which was a great inconvenience to her as she is currently caring for her sick husband.

To make matters worse, the delivery man informed me that the wrong piece had been sent yet again, and the mirror was still missing. I called the office and spoke to a manager named Lucy, who insisted that the correct piece had been delivered. She got in touch with the delivery man, and it was confirmed that it was NOT the correct piece, leaving me with half a sofa.

I was informed that they could not get the right piece to me until the following Wednesday, which meant taking further unpaid leave. When Wednesday arrived, the correct side of the sofa was delivered, but the cushions did not fit, and the mirror was still missing. I have now been told that it could take up to 2 weeks to resolve this issue.

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. My experience has been a complete nightmare, and I would not recommend Oak Furnitureland UK to anyone.

Oak furnitureland UK Oak Furnitureland UK: A Disastrous Experience - Don't Touch Them with a Barge Pole!

I ordered 2 sofas from Oak Furnitureland UK at the beginning of March 2020. I was excited to receive them and eagerly awaited their arrival. However, I was disappointed when I received a text on 6th August, just 5 days before the scheduled delivery date of 11th August, informing me that the delivery had been delayed for a month with no reason given. The new delivery date was set for 10th September.

On 9th September, my old sofas were picked up for donation to a charity. I received a text at 08.10 the same day informing me that the delivery slot for my new sofas for the following day, Thursday, was between 10am-1pm. However, at 17.10 on the Wednesday, I received another text telling me to phone the company "at my convenience" regarding my order. When I called, I was told that my sofas "could not be delivered tomorrow" and that they did not know the reason why. I spoke to the manager, but he gave me no further information.

The following day, 10th September, a van arrived outside my house. Two guys turned up to give me my free gift of a dressing table mirror. They said they were expecting to bring me two sofas that morning and queried why they weren't at the warehouse. They were shocked and apologetic that I had been let down so badly. However, the dressing table mirror was damaged and unusable.

I was extremely upset and angry. I had waited over 6 months for this order to come, it had already been deferred once and now I was told there was no alternative but to re-order, the order would take a further 18 weeks with no guarantee of getting the sofas at the end. Other alternatives were to choose other sofas and ?250 would be credited against my account or if I cancelled, to be compensated with a ?100 voucher. When I asked the manager why I would ever use a voucher to buy anything from OFL stores ever again, he had no answer. He offered to ring me again on 11th September at 10am after discussion with his team to see if there were any other options. He rung late at 10.40am on 11th September and said the same things. There were no other options presented and I said I still hadn't made up my mind what to do. He said he would phone 16th Sept at 10am. He did NOT ring.

I was absolutely furious at the utter contempt with which I have been treated by OFL. No-one cared (except the delivery guys) about what has happened or that I was left without sofas to sit on. Clearly no-one bothered to check that the sofas (presumably) did not ever exist, until 5 pm on the day before they were due to be delivered. I was not phoned nor have I been given a reason as to what happened.

To be texted, and not even get the courtesy of a phone call to tell me the sofas would not be delivered after 6 months without any reason given added insult to injury and reminded me again that this company has treated me with utter contempt. No phone call from the manager as promised has reiterated the same impression.

I wrote and complained to the firm for attention of CEO. Eventually someone got back to me and after being pressed eventually admitted that the order had never gone through! No offer of compensation for the inconvenience and distress and waste of 6 months. Got a miserable ?100 voucher after insisting on something. I will NEVER buy anything from them again. Have now got 2 sofas from Next, delivered in days, great quality and service.

It's clear to me that Oak Furnitureland UK's official reviews are so good because they ask for a review just after you have ordered the furniture, NOT after they have delivered it. This is often when customers are still excited about their purchase and haven't yet experienced any issues with delivery, quality, or after-sales service. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Don't touch them with a barge pole!

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK: Poor Quality and Delayed Response Time

Me and my partner ordered a whopping ?4000 worth of items from Oak Furnitureland UK back in May 2020. We were really excited to receive our new furniture, but unfortunately, we had to cancel our orders due to some unforeseen circumstances. We sent three emails to the company to cancel our orders, but we didn't receive a response until a week later. We understand that the pandemic has caused some delays, but we were a bit disappointed with the response time.

We received a phone call from John on the retentions team, who assured us that there wouldn't be any problems with our orders. However, we were a bit skeptical, especially after reading some negative reviews on sitejabber. We decided to go ahead with the delivery anyway, and we received our furniture on Wednesday 27th.

The Wiltshire dining table was okay, but it had some imperfections on it. We could live with that, but when we tried to use one of the dining chairs, it made a crunching noise. We were really disappointed with the quality of the chairs, especially since they were half price. We also received two Wiltshire bedside tables, which had some strange design flaws. One of the tables had a diagonal line pattern around the top, which looked ridiculous. The other table had a bottom drawer that was half light and half dark colored, which looked like it was made from wood scraps.

Our biggest concern was the wardrobe, which arrived badly damaged. We had to lift the 100kg wardrobe to our shed, which almost broke my fiancee's back. We were lucky to have a shed, otherwise, the wardrobe would have been left outside. We had to wait for the returns team to resume work to swap the wardrobe, which was a bit frustrating. We also had to carry the wardrobe from the side of our house to our shed, which was not an easy task. The wardrobe had huge splits in the side panelling, which showed how thin the wood was.

We still have two outstanding orders of a Hercules range of a double wardrobe, two bedside tables, and bedroom drawers. We're not sure if we want to go ahead with these orders, as we're not very pleased with the quality of the furniture we received. We may cancel these orders, as we don't want to lift another broken wardrobe to our shed or receive more imperfect bedside tables.

Overall, we're quite gutted with our experience with Oak Furnitureland UK. The furniture is made in Vietnam, takes ages to deliver if not available, and is made without care and cheaply where possible. The only positive thing we can say is that the drawers have dovetail joints and are pretty solid, as are the legs. We hope that the company can improve the quality of their furniture in the future.

Oak furnitureland UK Poor Service and Mistakes: My Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK

I gotta say, I'm not too happy with Oak Furnitureland UK. I went to their shop in Norwich and the staff were not very helpful when I was only buying one item worth ?119.00. I had previously spent ?1817.97 in September and was helped by a guy named Darren who was great, but he was busy with another customer this time. The sales assistant who helped me ended up ordering the wrong item, a bedside table worth ?129.00 instead of the lamp table I wanted. I didn't notice until it was delivered the following Friday and I was charged ?10.00 more than I expected. I called customer services and they arranged to collect the wrong item and deliver the correct one on 18.01.19, but my account was not credited as promised and the drivers didn't show up when they were supposed to. They even called the wrong number, even though they had called me the week before. When I called customer services, they said I would be charged if I wasn't home for the next delivery, even though I was home and they didn't call me. This whole thing has cost me a lot of money and time, and I'm not happy about it. They offered me a ?30.00 gift voucher as a good will gesture, but I'm not satisfied with that. I had to take another half day off work to receive the delivery and I feel like they should compensate me for my time. I haven't heard back from them in over a week, which is not good service.

Oak furnitureland UK Appalling After-Sales Service from Oak Furnitureland UK: A Warning to Potential Customers

I went to the Hull store of Oak Furnitureland UK in June 2019 and had a great experience. Melvyn Hammond was very helpful and offered us hot drinks. He also helped us navigate around the store as my wife uses a wheelchair due to her multiple sclerosis. The staff were all friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. The sales process with Melvyn was easy and stress-free, and we give the Hull store a maximum 5-star rating. However, the after-sales service was truly appalling.

The delivery came on time, and the delivery men were polite and friendly. The dresser came in 2 parts, packed in very large JB Global boxes. I had to unpack the furniture myself, and it was a tricky and awkward job that required some strength. Once the dresser was unpacked, I discovered that its left-hand door would not close. On examination, it appeared that the magnetic catches were faulty, and the door appeared to be warped.

I telephoned the Hull store and spoke to Gavin, who was very apologetic about the faulty door. However, he couldn't do anything about it at that time as the store's computer system was down. Gavin gave me the number of the Oak Furnitureland service centre, and they would arrange for a replacement.

I rang the service centre, and after a 10-minute wait, I finally managed to speak with a member of staff. I explained the problem, and the man I spoke to told me that in order to have the faulty product collected and replaced, I would have to take pictures of the fault and also of the labels attached to each unit of furniture. I told him that meant I would have to unpack the sideboard and then repack it, but he insisted that that was what I had to do.

During the call, the man told me the label in question would be stuck to the back of the dresser. I checked, and there was no label. Following his instructions, I checked inside the drawers, underneath the drawers, and in the cupboards. I even lifted the unit up and checked underneath, but found no label. In doing so, I found a 1-inch brass screw rolling around loose inside the left-hand dresser cupboard.

The man I was dealing with came across as uninterested and not very bright. He said all he could do was to email me a link to arrange the return online. I was by this time extremely angry and informed him that I was legally trained. If the matter wasn't dealt with quickly, I would be taking legal action. I also explained to him that as my wife has multiple sclerosis, having all the packing materials strewn around the floor was a very serious trip hazard for her. He told me there was nothing further he could do, and the call ended.

I checked my inbox and located the email. It was no help at all. The link supplied me with a one-time password that didn't work. I tried to register and found I already had an account, which I then recalled Melvyn had set up with me in-store. I clicked on the Forgotten Password link, but that didn't work either. I have over 30 years of in-depth IT experience.

I decided to unpack the sideboard and try to locate a label on it, but yet again, I couldn't find it. I rang the service centre a second time. After another long wait, I spoke to a woman. She informed me that I would need to photograph the fault on the dresser and the labels on the outside of the boxes. I said I would do that.

I explained to the woman that I would need a Saturday delivery. I informed her that I had taken a day's leave to receive the delivery and that I now only had 2 further days of leave until November. Looking after my wife, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, meant I could not afford to take another day of leave. The woman was as unsympathetic as the first person I spoke to at the service centre. She informed me Oak Furnitureland do not make Saturday deliveries and that I would have to arrange a weekday delivery. She then said "Have a nice day." I was astonished. I asked her if it sounded like I was having a nice day and told her that her comment was unbelievably stupid in the circumstances. I ended the call.

Once I calmed down, I decided to check the faulty dresser door again, this time with a powerful torch. After 10 minutes of careful examination, and by comparing the faulty door with the one that closed properly, I discovered that the shelf in the dresser cupboard was misaligned by approximately 1.5 millimetres. That was the reason the door wouldn't close.

I checked the brackets holding the shelf in place and discovered that they were adjustable. I carefully unscrewed the brackets so I could adjust the shelf and align it correctly. The door then closed properly. I tightened up the screws and was able to mount the top of the dresser on the base and complete assembly.

Our experience of the after-sales service of Oak Furnitureland is that it is truly dreadful. It is inexcusable that the dresser was sent out in that condition, and with a loose screw rattling around inside it. The team that packed the dresser cannot have failed to notice that the door kept swinging open, and they must have deliberately packed it knowing it was defective.

The Oak Furnitureland service centre was laughable. Both people I talked with were uninterested and unhelpful. Your returns process is flawed and of poor quality. The packing around the furniture was very good, but it appeared to have been done with the aid of an industrial packing machine. The packaging was so complex that it would have been virtually impossible for me to repack the items in the same way, particularly as my wife is physically unable to assist me.

I telephoned Melvyn at around 11:15 am on the delivery day and explained what had happened and that I had, eventually, managed to do what the quality assurance checker at the factory should have done and repaired the fault. I also told him about our experience with the service centre. I thanked Melvyn for the excellent service we had received in the store, but I explained that the dreadful after-sales service we experienced meant we wouldn't be buying any more furniture from Oak Furnitureland or recommending them to friends and family. It was a shame to have to tell Melvyn that, and he was clearly unhappy for us and what had happened. It's a shame that Oak Furnitureland employs such good quality staff in the shops but then backs them up with such a sub-standard after-sales service.

I did eventually find the labels on the furniture. I had to use a torch, put my head inside the cupboard of each piece of furniture, twist around and look at the inside corner of the roof of the compartment. The labels were so well hidden that I only discovered them when I gave the furniture a thorough waxing. It seems incredible to me that the service centre staff would not know where the labels are located.

From the perspective of my wife's condition, it also seems to me that Oak Furnitureland may not be satisfying the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 for some of its customers. Providers of goods, facilities and services must not treat you less favourably than they would treat a person who is not disabled. Service providers must make 'reasonable adjustments' to allow a disabled person to use their services. If they don't do this, they must be able to show that their failure to do so is reasonable.

We fail to see how someone like my wife, or an elderly person, would be able to deal with a delivery from Oak Furnitureland if they live on their own.

I wrote to the Chairman, CEO, and COO of Oak Furnitureland. All I received back was a call from a fairly inept complaints department operative who admitted that the customer support team had totally misinformed me. I should not have had to repack the furniture, and they should have just arranged a pick-up and redelivery. We have not had any sort of written apology from the firm as of the end of July 2019, and the Board really doesn't seem to give a toss. I have several work colleagues who have also experienced similar problems with Oak Furnitureland.

Our advice? DON'T USE OAK FURNITURELAND! THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY, AND THE BOARD IS ARROGANT AND DISINTERESTED!

Regards,

Peter Jones.

Oak furnitureland UK Poor Customer Service Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK

I recently had an experience with Oak furnitureland UK that left me feeling quite disappointed. I had purchased a TV corner unit from them, but within just ten weeks, a piece of wood broke away from the area where the DVD player goes. I was quite upset about this, so I contacted the company to see if they could help me out.

They asked me to take three pictures of the damage - one of the identification label, one of the damage area with a rule at the side of damaged area to show size of damage, and one of the unit so they could assess where the damage was on the unit. I did as they asked and sent the pictures over.

The next day, I received a phone call from a lady named C. Biggs. She told me that she and her manager, M. Berry, had reviewed the pictures and had determined that it was not a manufacturing fault. She suggested that I make a claim under the protection policy that I had taken out at extra cost.

I was quite frustrated by this, as I had viewed the damaged area with a magnifying glass and could see that filler had been used and that's what had fallen out. I explained this to C. Biggs, but she was quite negative and dismissive. I suggested that they send someone out to inspect the product, but she refused.

At this point, I said that I would talk to citizens advice and the call ended. The next day, I received a call from M. Berry. He said that he would now send someone to look at the unit, but he also said in a very aloof manner that if they found that it was not a manufacturing fault, they would not support any repairs.

I was quite frustrated by this whole experience. I felt like these two people showed a very dictatorial and condescending attitude, almost to the point that if they changed their minds, it may show weakness. It was a manufacturing fault and not damage that we had caused, and because I stood my ground, I was made to feel like I was in the wrong.

Overall, I would say that my experience with Oak furnitureland UK was quite unprofessional. A small amount of customer service by offering to send someone to look at the problem would have solved the issue. Based on this experience, I could not in any circumstances recommend Oak furnitureland to anybody. In fact, I would guide them away, not because of product quality, but because of the lack of good customer service.

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Experience at Oak Furnitureland UK's Sealand Road Store in Chester

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at Oak Furnitureland UK's Sealand Road store in Chester. My husband and I visited the store on Sunday, February 20th, in search of a new sofa. After browsing several other stores on the retail park, we returned to Oak Furnitureland and settled on the Devon Plus sofa, which we both liked and agreed upon.

The sales assistant who had helped us earlier was very helpful and wrote down the name of the sofa, its dimensions, and the price of £1658.99 on a piece of paper for us, as we needed to go home and measure the space where it would be placed. The assistant seemed to recognize us as serious buyers and we left the store feeling positive about our potential purchase.

The following day, I returned to the store with £1660.00 in cash to place the order for the sofa. However, I was shocked to discover that the price had increased overnight to £1784.99. The sales assistant tried to help by speaking to his managers, but they refused to honor the original price, claiming that the increase was due to shipping charges or other factors.

I was even more frustrated when I searched for the sofa on Google and found that it was still listed at the original price of £1658.99 on Oak Furnitureland's website. The manager even tried to suggest that I was looking at a different version of the sofa or that the Google price was not accurate.

What really upset me was that the Devon Plus sofa was already manufactured and ready for delivery within seven days, so there was no reason for the sudden price increase. I had the cash in my bag and was ready to pay, but the store manager refused to honor the original price or even offer a compromise.

To add insult to injury, the sales assistant had told us the day before that if we purchased the sofa and the price went down during the bank holiday sales, we would be refunded the difference until delivery. Yet, when I tried to get the original price honored, the store refused to do so.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Oak Furnitureland UK's Sealand Road store in Chester. The sales assistant was apologetic and embarrassed, but it was clear that the store's management was not willing to work with me to resolve the issue. I left the store feeling frustrated and upset, and I would caution anyone considering a purchase from Oak Furnitureland to be wary of sudden price increases and unhelpful management.

Oak furnitureland UK One Star Review: Terrible Customer Service and Faulty Mattress from Oak Furnitureland UK

I gotta say, my experience with Oak Furnitureland UK has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. I bought a kingsize mattress and wooden oak frame from them, and at first, everything seemed great. But after just six months, the material on the topper had stretched so much that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable to sleep on. I tried to contact their insurance, but it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So I called sales, and they suggested I send an email because they were getting so many calls. That made me a bit suspicious, to be honest.

Eventually, someone came to assess the problem, and he told me that his manager always classified this kind of issue as wear and tear. I was shocked. I mean, how can a mattress be considered "wear and tear" after just six months? I'm still waiting for a resolution to this issue, but in the meantime, I'm getting terrible sleep every night. I'll update this review when I know more, but I have a feeling that "wear and tear" is a common excuse for them.

I'm giving Oak Furnitureland UK one star because there's no way to bypass their terrible customer service. I don't have the receipt for my purchase right now, but I'll add it to this review when I can.

Update: I've finally received the findings of my faulty mattress, and it's not good news. They're claiming that I caused the problem by sitting propped up in bed, which is ridiculous. The man who came to assess the issue only used his hands to try to fix the lump in the topper, and he left knowing that it hadn't worked. He also made some comments about me not being pleasant, which was really upsetting. There are a lot of lies in the report, and I'm going to challenge them.

I've contacted my home insurance, and they've informed me of my rights. I've sent an email rejecting their decision and letting them know that I'll be taking this issue further. They called me today (16/05/23) and asked me to bring in my own inspector, but there's no guarantee that their findings will be accepted. I've added more photos to show how the bed is sinking and that it hasn't been repaired.

If you're thinking about buying the extra warranty from Oak Furnitureland UK, I'd advise you to think twice. It's sold like it's worth its weight in gold, but it's really not worth anything. This company is a real shark, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Oak furnitureland UK Delivery Drivers Rough with Furniture: Oak Furnitureland UK Review

So, I ordered some furniture from Oak Furnitureland UK and I gotta say, the delivery drivers were a bit rough with my stuff. They just tipped the box over and over through my door into the hallway, even though I asked them to be more careful. They just said it was well packaged, but that wasn't the point. Then, when they were taking the products upstairs, they were bashing the walls and dropping the boxes. I asked them to be more careful, especially since we had recently decorated and had new carpets and a new banister fitted. But they just said banisters are there to protect the wall and repeated that the items were well packaged.

But the worst part was when they couldn't get the desk up the stairs. They gave up and wanted to slide it down the stairs, but I stopped them and asked if I could remove the desk from the box for them to try again. But they refused, so now I'm stuck with a big heavy desk downstairs and have to seek help to get it upstairs. And to top it off, there were two black marks on the carpet that weren't there before, but they just said it wasn't their fault and their shoes were clean.

When they left, I was expecting a delivery note or invoice, but they just drove off. So, I called customer service and they only offered to refund me ?10 for the inconvenience, which I don't think is enough. I've raised a formal complaint and I'm waiting for a response.

Overall, I'm not too happy with the delivery experience, but the furniture itself seems to be good quality. I just wish the delivery drivers were more careful and respectful of my home.

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK: Wrong Color and Terrible Customer Service

So, we went to Oak Furnitureland UK to buy an electric reclining chair, and we were really happy to find out that it was on sale. We were also impressed with how quickly the delivery was scheduled, and the delivery guys were really nice. However, when we opened the box, we realized that the chair was the wrong color. We immediately went to the showroom to check the color swatch, but the color we received wasn't even there. We talked to a salesman, and he said that it was an old version of the color. He sent an email to customer services on our behalf, but that's when the problems started.

We had to send photos and even assemble the chair, which we refused to do. The next day, we had another unhelpful conversation with customer services. We went to the showroom again and took a photo of the material swatch next to the cushion, but they still didn't believe us. They said that there was no old or new color, and it was just a variation in shade. We were so frustrated that we wanted to scream down the phone.

We went back to the showroom to see if they could help us, but they said that they couldn't because they were a separate entity. Customer services informed us that even if they replaced the chair, it would be the same color, and we would be charged for it. We finally agreed to a refund, and they collected the chair without charging us. We were really disappointed because we only wanted the chair we saw in the color we saw, but we had to settle for a refund.

Our downstairs space was a mess with all the packaging, the chair, and our furniture that a charity was going to take away. If you look online, you can see that the Grayson range comes in Charcoal, but we received a Silver Grey chair. We wouldn't recommend shopping here because of the worst customer service we have ever encountered.

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK Customer Service and Product Quality

I gotta say, I'm not too happy with my experience with Oak Furnitureland UK. I had an issue with my order and reached out to their customer service team, but the response I got was less than satisfactory.

Basically, I was told that the bed I received was in rough condition based on an inspection report by the Homeserve team. They offered to replace the head and leg parts of the bed, but when the delivery team came to do the replacement, they didn't have the right tools to dismantle and reassemble the bed. I even had to take a half day off of work for this!

To make matters worse, when I spoke to a customer service rep named Ms Daisy, she straight up lied to my wife about what we had agreed to. I had requested a refund, but she told my wife that I had agreed to receive the replacement parts and arrange for the old ones to be collected. Not cool, Ms Daisy.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with the condition of the bed and the support I received from Oak Furnitureland UK. I've requested a refund and I hope they can make things right.

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK: Issues with Delivery, Color, and Customer Service

I am really disappointed with Oak Furnitureland UK. My mum recently purchased a two-seater recliner sofa and two recliner chairs from this store, and since then, she has been facing a lot of issues.

To begin with, my mum went to the store, and Monica prepared a contract for her. However, a couple of days later, Monica called my mum back to inform her that the contract did not save on the computer. This was quite frustrating for my mum as the store is located 17 miles away from her residence. So, she had to make another trip to the store to sort out the contract. However, this time, Monica split the contract into two, which seemed a bit odd to me. According to Monica, the sofa and chairs had to come on two separate deliveries, which is why there are now two contracts.

The next issue was with the delivery charges. As there were two contracts, my mum had to pay two delivery charges of ?50 each, which amounted to ?100 altogether. However, Monica promised us that the delivery guys would not only deliver the furniture but also set it up for us and remove the rubbish. All we had to do was remove our old furniture. This sounded reasonable to us, but when the delivery guys arrived, we found out that they were not allowed to set up the furniture. Monica had lied to us, and when we confronted her, she denied it. This was not good customer service at all. If we had known that we would have to set up the furniture ourselves, we would have gone to IKEA!

Another issue was with the color of the sofa. Monica gave us some samples of the three colors available, and we picked black and gold. However, the sofa that arrived was light grey and white, which was not what we had ordered. The website showed charcoal, not light grey and white. This was quite frustrating, and we had to make another trip to the store to speak to Monica. However, she lied to our faces about the furniture being set up and told us that we had to call customer services ourselves. The older gentleman at the store passed on a message to the manager, but we did not receive any phone call from customer services even after two days. This was quite disappointing, and we had to go public to make sure that Oak Furnitureland Stevenage does not con another person.

Lastly, I would like to mention that the customer services are not open late, which makes it difficult for us to contact them as we work. This is not good at all, and I hope that Oak Furnitureland UK improves its customer service in the future.

Oak furnitureland UK Shocking Customer Service Experience with Oak Furnitureland UK: Refund Delay and Constant Lies

I had a really bad experience with Oak Furnitureland UK. Their customer service department is absolutely shocking! I can't believe the constant lies they told me, and all they could say was 'I don't know why you've been told that'. It's really frustrating when you're trying to get something sorted out and the people you're dealing with seem to be completely clueless.

I cancelled my original order on the 01/02/2022, and reordered an item with a discount code. Unfortunately, the card I originally paid on had expired, so the refund couldn't go through. I called them on 09/02/2022 and provided my sort code and account number over the phone. After receiving no refund, I called again, but I was constantly faced with 50+ minute wait times. So, I emailed my bank details on 15/02/2022. However, I received no reply or refund, so I called again on 17/02/2022 to be told I needed to provide identification. Why had they not told me this before? Only when I had chased them? I provided ID the same day.

On Tues 22/02/2022, I called to chase my refund, and I was told it was processed the day before, but the card details were expired. Yes, I knew that, that's why I provided my SC and AN. When she realised, she said the refund would be processed that day. I called again on Fri 25/02/2022 to check the refund had been processed, and I was told it was done on Wed and would be with me no later than the following Wed (02/03/2022), so not Tues like previously stated.

It's now Thur 03/03/2022, and I still haven't received my refund of ?650! I called again to be told the refund would be with me no later than the following Monday, another 5 days! After giving an arm and a leg to speak to a manager, I was told that all refunds are processed on a Wednesday and it was done yesterday. So, I was lied to when I rang and was told the refund was done the day before (a Tuesday) and lied to again when I rang on Fri to be told it was done on the Wed 23/02/2022. The manager couldn't explain why I had been told all this incorrect information.

I'd just like to add that their website T&Cs state: 9.11 We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and no later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel the order. This clearly hasn't happened, and now we are well over 14 days. They have done little to resolve this situation other than a 'sorry', which I don't think is good enough for the amount of time and hassle I've spent trying to get MY money back.

Oh, and to add, I still haven't received any replies to my emails, including the one on the 17/02/2022, which had a complaint attached to it? SHOCKING! I really hope they sort this out soon, or I'll be forced to take further action.

Oak furnitureland UK Avoid Oak Furnitureland: Poor Quality, Delayed Delivery, and Terrible Customer Service

I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with Oak Furnitureland. I ordered a dining table, chairs, and lamp tables back in July 2021, with the hopes of having them in time for Christmas. But then, I got an email in November saying that my order was delayed due to the pandemic and wouldn't be delivered until February 2022 - a whole 7 months after I placed my order! Needless to say, that put a damper on my holiday plans.

But wait, it gets worse. When February finally rolled around, I was expecting my order to arrive on the 25th. But just three days before that, I got another email saying that there was yet ANOTHER delay (thanks, pandemic) and that I needed to log into my account to reschedule the delivery. When I did, I found out that my items hadn't even been shipped yet and that the earliest delivery date was now in September 2022 - a full 14 months after I placed my order! That's a long time to wait for furniture, especially when you've already paid over £1500 for it.

I'm not the only one who's had issues with Oak Furnitureland, either. When I was on hold for what felt like forever trying to cancel my order, I read some other reviews online and they weren't exactly glowing. Apparently, the quality of the furniture isn't great when it does finally arrive, and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

In the end, I decided to cancel my order and get my money back before things got even more out of hand. But that wasn't exactly a smooth process, either. I had to call three times and wait on hold for over 30 minutes each time, only to be told that I needed to talk to the cancellations department. Twice, they even hung up on me! When I finally did get through, I cancelled as fast as I could.

All in all, I'd say that Oak Furnitureland is a company to avoid. They've let me down multiple times, and I don't have much faith in their ability to deliver quality furniture or provide good customer service. If you're in the market for new furniture, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Oak furnitureland UK Disappointing Experience with Oak Furniture Land and Homeserve Furniture Repairs: Poor Quality and Service

I recently had an experience with Oak Furniture Land and Homeserve Furniture Repairs that left me extremely disappointed. The furniture that was delivered to me was in mouldy boxes, had rusty screws and swollen panels. I was shocked to find out that I had purchased a new product that was in such poor condition. When I contacted them to have the furniture repaired, they only gave permission to work on one product and I had to wait for another appointment to have the other furniture looked at.

To make matters worse, when I called to inquire about the technician's progress, they told me that he had only been allocated one hour to do the work and despite him only being there for five minutes, they refused to let him look at the other furniture. This caused me to waste more time out of my day and I was frustrated with the poor service I received.

Oak Furniture Land should not be selling products that have a quality control mark from October 16, or products that are in mouldy packaging, or products that are rusty and not fit for purpose. They should also employ more and better customer service staff so that customers don't have to spend more than a cumulative 1.5 hours listening to hold music in an effort to talk to someone.

I was also disappointed that they refused to offer any compensation for their mistake in not booking the work correctly and causing me to take another day off work. A small token gesture would have gone a long way in making me feel valued as a customer.

Overall, I would not recommend Oak Furniture Land and Homeserve Furniture Repairs to anyone looking for quality products and good customer service. Save yourself the trouble and shop somewhere else. #oakfurnitureland #homeservefurniturerepairs #rubbishquality #poorcustomerservice #secondhandproducts #avoidoakfurnitureland

Oak furnitureland UK leather sofa

I bought a leather 3 piece suite in May 2021. Order No OFL-6726553. One of the seats on the 3 seater sofa has sunk, it is not visible in the attached photos but cannot be sat on any longer. Yesterday 9th Feb-22 while I was sitting on the sofa there was an audible click and the seat settled. Perhaps some part has become detached. It is too heavy for me to move so I cannot look or take other photos.

Desired outcome: Someone needs to come out and fix it or replace this item.

Oak furnitureland UK tv unit

We ordered a tv unit (St Ives oak and grey painted) from the store in York. I believe 2/3/4 th January 2021 . We paid in cash and told we would not be issued with a paper receipt because of the virus but be sent an email. The delivery date was set for today (26th January) but we have not received a receipt for payment and no delivery today.
We have spent a considerable amount of money at Oak Furniture Land over the years buying a 2 and 3 seater leather settee, two 3 door wardrobes, oak table and chairs and a king size bed. We have always received excellent service from them but we are dismayed that there is a possibility that this order has not even gone through. Could you help please.

Oak furnitureland UK delivery

I had a king size bed delivered this afternoon and asked the delivery man to please take his shoes off when he took it into the bedroom as I had just had the carpet fitted a couple of hours before. He did so but I'm presuming the second man who helped him take the second box up did not. As a result there are now 4 dirty marks on the new carpet and I am furious! The service we have received from you has been very good so I am really disappointed. I enclose photos of the marks.

Oak furnitureland UK Avoid at all costs

The delivery of my sofa was delayed 4 times and I have no idea how many more times they will do it again.
I purchased a Chelsea 2 Seater Sofa in Cosmo Duck Egg £749 worth 2 months ago. And they delayed the delivery for stupid reasons as if they had just one person who does it.
It's ridiculous. Wanted to cancel the order, they refused to do it. Well, then deliver. What's your problem?

Oak furnitureland UK please, be careful

I am sure that everyone from their customer support knows my name and my problem, but it's still not resolved and probably will never be.
First of all, my order took forever to arrive. Second, it arrived being defective. It's some kind of a fate irony.
I had to wait for 2 months just to receive a broken piece of furniture. It meant I would have to contact them again. And I did. And I heard same story each time without any desire to really help me. They offered nothing. And refused to refund. It's ridiculous, people.
