Off the Record I hired off the record to hopefully fight my ticket and reduce the super speeder/insurance increase

I hired off the record to hopefully fight my ticket and reduce the super speeder/insurance increase. My last contact with the attorney was 8 April. I have been emailing, calling no response. Court date is on Monday...not sure what to do!

Off the Record I didn’t have a bad experience I just think my lawyer in particular took advantage of me

I didn’t have a bad experience I just think my lawyer in particular took advantage of me. He got my ticket dismissed which is great but only if I take a drivers defense course that costs $200. Ironically his website gives you a $5 off coupon for this course which is extremely sketchy like almost he negotiated the course into the deal bc he probably makes some sort of commission off it. Needless to say, I got what I wanted but I also got a little scammed. Take this as you’d like.

Off the Record I used it for the first time and actually won after 10 months

I used it for the first time and actually won after 10 months. I had little hope, but now I am a believer. A police officer caught me going 17 mph over the speed limit and I was frustrated, but now it got dismissed. I will use it again and this service is legitimate, trust me :)

Off the Record I could not be more pleased

I could not be more pleased. I received two tickets, for a total of 7 points. The lawyer I was connected with managed to negotiate that down to 0 points (zero!) and a small fine. I am sure my excellent driving record (no ticket in 15 years) helped, but still, the service was worth every penny.

I signed up for the services, was assigned a lawyer like I I was told. The lawyer reached out to me repeatedly, during work my work hours and never disclosed that I would have to pay a court fee of like $300( which I would’ve preferred over my eventual warrant). The lawyer claimed to the company that he did his job, which I refuted. They said they’d call me back, it’s been about a month. Don’t waste your money if you value your driving privileges.

Off the Record I had a speeding ticket ??

I had a speeding ticket ?. I missed my court date. So my fine went up to $900 + DMV hold on my license ?. I read the reviews below. I believe every case is different and the best interest for OUR attorney is to lower the Ticket + No Points on record. Well If you ask me... I say: Thanks ? to OTR. “MY TICKET WAS DISMISSED”. I couldn’t be HAPPIER ?

Off the Record Avoid. They are crooks.

So I used them from driving without a license. For almost 2 mos no ticket was submitted by the cop. So I emailed saying I would like to cancel since it has t posted. What does the lawyer do? Call the cop to get the ticket on the schedule. During that time I disputed the amount since they refused to refund me. Let’s fast forward. I pay them ticket is handled. Now they owe me 225$. They claim to have sent it to me. But yet the bank account has been closed 2 months. So I ask them to find what happened. And that’s it. I got an email sent saying it was cleared. Anyone who has ever closed a bank account knows nothing goes in an out. Avoid them they suck with communicating. They don’t do what best for you. Avoid it. They are not worth it. And if you do make the mistake make sure you get the money situation under control. They will rob you. It happened to me

Recommendation: Avoid them. See a local lawyer

Off the Record BEWARE: SCAM - Don't Fall for Their Money-Back Guarantee!

The best thing they do is fight speeding tickets by transferring them to non-moving violations through falsification. Non-moving violations came with a higher fine at least in my case. Essentially, this means that you'll end up paying at least 5-8 times more than the original fine.

I signed up with the belief that they would completely eliminate my speeding ticket, but I realize now that I was naive to trust their website's promises. Everything they call a SUCCESS hence you can never claim a refund based on their money-back guarantees. If I had read the fine print, I would have never fallen for this SCAM.

I would have easily gotten my 1st violation forgiven by my insurance had I decided to pay the fine. This would have easily saved me more than $500.

It just feels like a big SCAM!

Recommendation: Read their fine print on money back guarantee. You can almost 100% sure that you will never get the money back even if you lose the case.

Off the Record Scam App! DO NOT USE!

I got a red light ticket in 2022. Someone recommended Off the record app to fight my case and it was frankly the worst mistake.

I was told that the lawyer would present the case in court, and if the case was lost, a full refund would be obtained. I would only need to pay for the ticket.

Off the record lost the case & did not refund any fee amount.

They said it was a win from their end as I did not get a point on my license.

When I reached out, I was faced by a very rude customer agent.

I guess I myself could have gone to court and pleaded the driving school option instead of this. I ended up paying 760$ in total!

No need to waste $210 on this app.

DO NOT GET RIPPED OFF FROM THIS APP! It is just a way to SCAM.

Desired outcome: Please provide a refund as the app mentions in case of losing a case.

Off the Record They left me in worse shape and then blocked my number.

They are full of [censored].

Literally same exact ticket for the same exact thing. Not only did I lose but the lawyer didn’t tell me the case was concluded, thus my ticket went into collections and I forfeited being able to do traffic school.

Ticket was issued late May, 2022. I hired them in April. He pushed trial back to December. He got the judgment but never told me, never answered my update requests. Not until I got a collection letter in April of 2023. He claimed he’d take care of it and get it out of collections. He lied. Refunded my money for the inconvenience and said he’d still take care of getting it out of collections and not to pay anything. I racked up maximum penalties. Finally today Of The Record contacted and said I could go to the court and pay the ticket of $556 and then be granted traffic school. They lied. Court said I forfeited traffic school as soon as the ticket went to collections. Now my insurance that renews next month has the ticket and has gone up $110 dollars a month. Off The Record is not taking responsibility for the lack of communication and [censored]ty representative they employed. They blocked my number after asking me to supply proof of the insurance rate going up. Lawyer closed the case and now I’m left in so much worse shape than before this crap company and [censored] lawyer.

Never hire them. Mark my words. You can go into court and speak to the judge yourself and get the same thing they do done for free and know exactly where you stand.

Recommendation: Don’t do it. Just go to court yourself and speak to the judge and go to trial yourself.

Off the Record Zero services. Warrant almost issued

I hired them and 6 months later I got a letter in the mail saying I am about to have a warrant issued for my arrest. I have had one communication from James Gaines saying should have a decision next couple weeks. That’s 6 months into waiting. Called the courts and they say zero representation has been sent. How can there be a decision coming if there isn’t any representation? I am out $120. Asking for a refund.

Recommendation: DO NOT GOVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS SITE!!

Off the Record Seriously, their service is terrible

Seriously, their service is terrible. Very poor communication. On their website, it says they will respond to you quick, but a week is passing, and no response and updates from them. You have to literally beg them to hear what the progress is, and plus it says money back guarantee, but it's actually money back if you end up with a point on your record. Ended up paying the double, plus the money I paid them.

Very poor experience. Last minute asked me to waive the money back guarantee and I agreed. I sent the lawyer a reminder about the upcoming date as it was approaching. They charged my credit card, but in the end they failed to show up in court. Unbelievable. As a result, the trial was held in the absence of me or my legal representative and I was found guilty. Extremely frustrating. I would have done much better job myself if I did not trust them. So unreliable. Avoid them and find a lawyer yourself or defend yourself. Have not refunded me any money so far (they did not provide any services), which is on the border of fraud.

This app DOUBLED the cost of my ticket from $400 to $800! A complete scam. Do NOT use them. Run! Details: they linked me up with a legal assistant that was too busy to do my case. This assistant asked me for the same information over and over and over. No plan for the hearing. They didnt even contact me after the hearing. I had to contact them weeks later. Legal assistant completely blew my case, turning a $400 ticket into an $800 cost that wasted hours and hours of my time. This service is a complete scam. The owner, ***, wouldnt issue a refund for this. Dont waste your money.

My attorney made me feel ghosted and not worth his time. Im a first generation American doing my best to find legal resources for myself. I was ticketed for looking at directions on my phone, in a city I dont live in, in traffic, 3 blocks out from where I started driving. He not once asked for my story, only a picture of my license and 6 months later then told me my results in not even a full sentence. I would regularly check the app, reaching out every month to hear updates and it was only then I would get a delayed and brief answer. After the results, I actually ended up calling the court to pay my ticket because I still had to pay for it, and when I did they let me know that this ticket was actually never going to be on my record in the first place and verbally stated there was no need for an attorney for this. I was really surprised and distraught, as Im paying $300 now and most of that is going to the attorney. I also asked for a phone call with my attorney to discuss my ticket and he showed up 40 minutes late to our scheduled call - which is consistent to his regular communication. I was really stressed about the call and after waiting for as long as I did, it felt like a continued sign of disrespect. He made me feel in the dark, just like a number who isnt worth his time. When I shared my feedback to OTR, they gave me an invalidating response siding with my attorney and so here I am just hoping my voice will be heard. This entire experience felt unjust, another company taking advantage of peoples money, and keeping you in the dark about the process, and then giving you a result 6 months later without ever talking to you. As a person of color and first generation American, this is not the support I needed it was a mirror of our society, and why its so hard to know our rights. I learned more from *** and calling the Court more than I ever did - and so, thank you OTR & the attorney for teaching me to be more resourceful on my own.

Got a ticket from a bike cop, rush hour traffic which was bumper to bumper. I briefly tried explaining it but got the ticket anyway. I had prior tickets and explained this as well as the road conditions to my attorney. He seemed decent but despite requesting a call, I only ever received communication via messages. They did honor the money back guarantee they have since they couldn't improve my ticket or case at all. So considering I had the chance for things to get better, I'm glad I tried. I will, however, be looking for another service in the future seeing as my experience and reviews of others.

Off the Record Good lawyer, bad company

Good lawyer, bad company. My ticket was dismissed before the lawyer even got involved, but he was honest enough to admit that he didn't do anything and didn't deserve payment. Off the Record customer support refused to give me a refund on the basis of having no contractual obligation, despite their lawyer saying I deserve one. Waste of $150 to a greedy company, but I admire the honesty of the lawyer in that he tried to get me a refund.

About four months ago I was coming out of a parking lot and started to go down the road then I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a State Trooper flying up to me so I gave it a little more gas from 40 to *** all the way through the community for more than 5 minutes. He was so close to me you couldn't see his headlights and I was going the exact speed limit. I tried to make a left turn down the block so he can pass me by because I thought he was in a rush but before I can make the left turn it looked like he was trying to cut me off on the left side so I stopped the car and didn't make the turn. When I saw that he wasn't going to pass me I continue making a left turn and he also continued to tailgate me down the block so I pulled over and then about 5 to 10 seconds later he put on his lights, got out of the car and started talking nasty to me. He was asking me question after question why did I stop he said, when I went to answer he talked over me and said I picked up fast I told him I did not pick up fast. He then gave me a ticket for stopping, picking up fast and not using my blinker. I didn't do any of these things except not use my blinker because I thought that the law is ***'s that you do not have to use it. I found the website OFF THE RECORD, and thought I would give it a shot, keep in mind that I haven't gotten a ticket for over 30 years and my license is spotless. Anyway, after waiting for more than 2 months for my ticket to be handled I finally get an email saying that I didn't get any points but I still have to pay $200 for the ticket so now I paid $200 for the ticket and $144 for the off the record lawyer. This lawyer couldn't even get my ticket taken care of even though I haven't had a ticket in over 30 years, I find that impossible, I don't think this lawyer did a good job at all he just wanted to take. My money. Other people are saying the exact same thing so be careful for the OFF THE RECORD they're a bunch of scammers. This is easy money for them. They must make at least $5,000 a day scamming people like this. I wish I could tell you the lawyer's name but it's probably against the rules of the ComplaintsBoard.com.My advice to you is stay away from OFF THE RECORD and just pay the fine and go to traffic school you will save at least $100 or more.

Off the Record A BIG WASTE OF MONEY

A BIG WASTE OF MONEY. After over a year of waiting on the determination of my red light camera ticket case, I was just informed that the attorney was not able to get it dismissed (said I was only eligible for traffic school, which is what I was eligible for from the beginning) and I essentially am right back where I started, minus the $158 I paid in *** fees. I will wind up paying the *** fee, the traffic school fee and the ticket fee -- over $600 in fees.

I got pulled over for 33 over 70mph. Go to court got fined 750+ probation I asked for dash, body, and lidar cam as evidence to prove my car couldn't do that due to a transmission that can't shift past 4th gear. I had to plead not guilty to stay the fine and go to trail. The attorney was c*** and OTR said it was the best deal when the fine under law is 450. The attorney didn't even show up to court then spoke 15min with prosecutor and got me the deal OTR stated was the best deal. Then they closed my case without giving me proper representation. I never spoke to a supervisor, and what's worse is they always say they don't no the law. How can you direct people to the right attorney without knowing the law. Then tell me the nature of an offense is correct in the fine without evidence. Innocent until proven guilty.

Off the Record Terrible service

Terrible service. Hired attorney who sent automated message to my very specific inquiries. After countless emails and phone calls the attorney never responded so I had to fire him. Called the county asking how I would go about scheduling my court date and they told me that I would have to have my attorney send them a letter that he is no longer representing me. SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT, I AM SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE LAZY ATTORNEY WHO WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS OR EMAILS SEND A LETTER TO COURT? DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

Off the Record Based on the supposedly risk-free and hassle-free money-back guarantee offer that Off The Record (OTR) cleverly

Based on the supposedly risk-free and hassle-free money-back guarantee offer that Off The Record (OTR) cleverly advertises in a friendly and legal manner, I decided to hire OTR to contest a $200 (4 points) speeding ticket that I received after having a clean driving record for many years. However, there are a few things that I want to mention about my experience with OTR.

Firstly, there is a hidden service fee of $55 that OTR charges, which is not clearly stated in the booking offer. In addition to this fee, you also have to pay a legal fee of $225 when you sign up, making the total amount paid $280 instead of the $225 that you initially thought.

Secondly, the fees you pay for OTR and the attorney are separate from the ticket itself. This means that the "no-risk" money-back guarantee offer is not really applicable to you. In fact, it is quite likely that you will end up paying more with OTR than if you had handled the ticket on your own.

Lastly, if the attorney manages to make any small modification to your ticket (which you could have potentially done on your own), OTR will inform you that you are no longer eligible for any partial refund, despite their previous claims of a "no-risk" offer. This means that OTR and the attorney keep all the fees that they have taken from your bank account, and you still have to pay the full amount of the ticket, completely negating the supposed "no-risk" offer.

In my case, I ended up paying a total of $455.30 instead of the original $200.50. This means that I paid an additional $254 more than I would have if I had handled the ticket on my own, without falling for OTR's deceitful "no-risk" offer. It is important to note that the "no-risk" offer is presented as if it benefits the consumer, but upon closer inspection of OTR's legal language, it becomes clear that it only applies to OTR and its attorneys, not the unsuspecting consumer.

Off the Record On July 7th, 2020, I paid $350.00 to www

On July 7th, 2020, I paid $350.00 to www.offtherecord.com for their representation regarding a moving violation I received on the same day. The case ID is OTR-OAZ0XGK. Off The Record refers traffic cases to local attorneys who will accompany you to court to fight the violation. The attorney receives a fee from them for representing you. My case was assigned to Jason ***, an attorney located in Massachusetts. His contact number is ***. Jason contacted me and advised me to request a hearing and inform him when a date is scheduled. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the courts were closed, and eight months passed without a hearing date. I called the court in Fall River monthly to follow up. On March 15, 2021, the clerk magistrate dismissed my ticket with a "not responsible" finding, even before a hearing was scheduled. The court is overwhelmed with thousands of traffic cases, resulting in the dismissal of violations for drivers with a clean driving history. On March 19, 2021, I sent Jason *** a copy of the finding through the off the record website, and he responded with "Congratulations." I also submitted a refund request for my $350.00 fee through the off the record website on the same day, along with two additional emails to [protected]@offtherecord.com. However, they have not responded to my messages or refund request. On March 22, 2021, my husband spoke to a representative named "Jordan" over the phone, who claimed that they had no physical location to receive correspondence. I find it unusual for a business to operate without a physical location. After some research, I discovered that they do have an address, which is likely a PO box: 411 4th Ave # 6126, Seattle, WA 98101. This company did not take any action on my behalf, and there was no court appearance or any valid reason to retain a $350.00 fee.

Off the Record I am honestly very unhappy with the outcome

I am honestly very unhappy with the outcome. The whole reason I got a lawyer is because I didn't want to take the 2-point ticket and I didn't want to plea Unsafe Driving because I know it's a very expensive ticket. My attorney had called fairly shortly after I had purchased this service. I missed the call and honestly I didn't get the chance for a week to call him back. I did call him back on June 15th. I was connected with his voicemail which is fine, but he never returned my call. A week before my court date I was nervous because I still hadn't heard from him. I sent him a message on your site and ask for him to contact me. His assistant said she would have him contact me. This past Thursday he called me. He mispronounce my first name and I corrected him. I also went through my whole history of my driver's license. He said I sounded young to have been driving that long. I've been driving for almost 13 years. I thought that was a little weird of a statement but I let it go. Tuesday he calls me again and introduces himself and it's the same conversation over again, but this time it seems rushed. He also mispronounced my name again and clearly forgot our conversation from Thursday. He was very professional about how he said he forgot but I still thought that was an unprofessional thing to not have notes on.He showed up 18 minutes late to court online. He was the very last one to enter the court Zoom chat. He mispronounce my name again. He spoke to the prosecutor and called me. He told me my abstract didn't come out as clean as expected. On both calls I told him I pled Impeding the Flow of Traffic in 2018. He said because of that the prosecutor will not let me plea to a lower no point ticket. So I could either take the two-point careless driving ticket, plea unsafe driving, or go to trial which he made sure to mention the cop would have to be there and tell his side. I could have done all of this without a lawyer. I deserve a refund.
