Disappointing Purchase: Fake Leather Suspenders from Old Trading Post Western Store
I recently bought some leather suspenders from Old Trading Post Western Store. They were advertised as being genuine Leather, 1 1/2" wide, 1822 style Thurston braces. When they arrived, I was disappointed to find that they were only 1" wide and very poorly made. After wearing them for just three days, they split and tore through at the rivets. I was shocked to discover that they were not even made out of leather, but some kind of composite material. I did a burn test and it supported a flame, which is something that real leather does not do.
I reached out to the company to ask for a replacement, but I never received a response from them. It seems like they don't care about their customers and are only interested in making a quick buck. I live in Australia, so it doesn't matter to them if they lose my business or not.
After reading some of the other reviews, I don't hold out much hope for this company. It seems like they are just a sham and are only interested in ripping people off. I would advise anyone thinking of trading with them to steer clear and find a more reputable company to do business with.

I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at Old Trading Post Western Store. I placed an order with them about 8 months ago and it's been a real hassle trying to get any information about my shipment. I must have sent them at least 7-10 emails asking for updates, but most of them were ignored. It's frustrating when you're trying to get a hold of someone and they just don't seem to care.
To make matters worse, when I finally did receive my order, it was the WRONG holster! They promised me 6-8 weeks at the beginning, but then kept giving me false time frames. I called them to ask about sizing originally, but the guy on the phone was really short with me. And in every other email I received, I was either ignored or lied to. It's just not good customer service.
Honestly, if there was a negative star review option, I would choose it. But I will say that the holster I did receive was actually pretty awesome. The quality was great and it's a really beautiful holster. So I don't have any complaints about that.
Overall, I just wish that Old Trading Post Western Store had been more communicative and honest with me about my order. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this company, but unfortunately, I can't recommend them to anyone.
Excellent Quality and Customer Service at Old Trading Post Western Store
I was a bit nervous after I placed an order at Old Trading Post Western Store, especially after reading some of the reviews. I was on the hunt for a good poncho to wear while hunting and around the campfire. I had ordered a couple off of Amazon, but was very disappointed with the quality. That's when I stumbled upon Old Trading Post Western Store once again.
Even though I was nervous about my order, I decided to give them a call. Mike answered the phone every time I called, which was reassuring. When my product finally arrived, which was when it was promised, I was more than amazed by the quality I received for the little price I paid. I am grateful that I found this store and will definitely be ordering more stuff from them in the future.
After reading some of the other reviews, I think people need to understand that getting a custom holster made takes time. LOL, you could order them off of Cabela's like I did and have to return it four times because it didn't fit my gun. Anyhow, thank you Mike and G~D bless you. I am very happy with my purchase and will be ordering more items soon.

I gotta say, I had a bit of a rough time with Old Trading Post Western Store. I've bought from them before and always been happy with what I got, but this time was a real doozy. I ordered some 19th century trousers on June 22, 2017 and paid in full, including shipping. But then, nothing. I tried emailing and calling, but no response. I was starting to get worried.
Finally, on July 17th, I got an email back. But it wasn't good news. They said there was no one there with the name of the owner I spoke to. What? That's who I talked to! And they didn't even address my request for a refund. I was starting to feel like they were just trying to keep my money.
It's been almost a month since I paid, and I still haven't gotten my trousers or my money back. It's really disappointing, because I used to think this was an honest, legitimate business. But now it seems like they're just in it to take your money and forget about you. I hope they can get their act together and start treating their customers better.
Beautiful Custom Gun Cases from Old Trading Post Western Store - Worth the Wait!
I gotta say, I just got my hands on some gun cases from Old Trading Post Western Store and they are just beautiful. Now, I know some folks out there have been leaving some negative reviews, but I gotta tell ya, I was a little worried too when I saw my order status was "pending" for a couple of weeks after I placed my order on December 6th. But let me tell you, Mike over at Old Trading Post was always there to answer my calls or call me right back if I left a message. And you know what? My order shipped before Christmas! Sure, it got delayed a bit by the postal service, but that ain't Mike's fault. And today, January 3rd, my items finally showed up and let me tell you, my boyfriend and I are just thrilled with these gun cases.
Now, I know some folks out there are used to getting their stuff shipped out automatically by big corporate entities, but let me tell you, beautiful custom work takes time. And I don't think waiting two and a half weeks for a custom made product is excessive at all. In fact, I think it's worth the wait. Excellent Customer Service and Quality: My Experience with OTP Custom Holsters
I done ordered me a custom holster from OTP way back in February. They done told me it was gonna take a while, but I ain't mindin' none. I know what "custom" means, ya know? But I still check my account every now and then, just to see if that "processing" status is still there. Mike done called me up a few times to let me know about any changes in the time frame. I gotta say, I appreciate that kinda customer service.
Now, let me tell ya somethin'. You can have quality, inexpensive, or fast. But you can only pick two. I done chose inexpensive and quality, 'cause I know that custom leather works take some time. If you want fast, go to Amazon or somethin'. But if you want quality and detail, you gotta accept that it's gonna take a bit. Trust me, it's worth it in the end.
I wanna give a shoutout to Mike for keepin' me in the loop with the process. I can't wait to get my hands on that holster when it's done. And you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be comin' back to OTP for any future custom jobs.

I put in an order for a plain brown belt and a leather cartridge slide from Old Trading Post Western Store on November 29, 2021. The total cost was $138.38 plus $10.39 for shipping. Unfortunately, I never received my order. At first, I would call and Mike would call me back. The last time he called me back was in late winter or early spring. I understand that custom leather work takes time, so I decided to be patient. However, by the end of May, I still had not received my order. By the end of June, there was still no sign of my order. By the end of July, I was still waiting, and now it is August. I tried emailing Old Trading Post through their website and calling them about once a month, but I never received a response. I called and emailed them again today, but I'm not holding my breath for a response. My expectations are low. I should have checked the reviews before placing my order because they confirm that I may never receive my $148.77. It seems that Old Trading Post has a history of taking people's money and not delivering their orders. If I could give them negative stars, I would.
I am now considering legal action. Since I live in Montana, I will check with the FBI and my credit card company to see what options are available to me. I'm not sure if Old Trading Post is committing fraud or if they are just incompetent. However, it seems like fraud because they charged my credit card at the time of the order. Most places that I have dealt with charge your card when the item is shipped. I should have done my research before placing my order.

This is the real deal, y'all! I was on the hunt for a western vest in XXL and Old Trading Post Western Store was the only place I could find it. I was so excited to finally find what I was looking for that I quickly placed my order without checking the reviews first. But let me tell you, the customer service was on point. I had a question about the size and they got back to me the same day. And I got emails confirming my order right after I paid for it using PayPal.
But then things started to go downhill. After waiting a week and a half, I sent an email asking about my order status. I got a reply saying it was shipped the previous week through UPS (even though I was charged for USPS priority mail) and that I should receive it on Tuesday or Wednesday. But it never came. I emailed them again, asking for a tracking number, but got no reply. That's when I decided to file a claim with PayPal to get my money back.
It took several days, but I finally got an email from the seller saying the item was shipped through UPS and they provided a tracking number. I tracked the package with UPS and found out that a shipping label had just been created that day and shipped that day. So much for it having been shipped almost two weeks earlier. I was starting to lose hope that I would ever get my vest.
But then, it finally arrived! And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. The vest is made of high quality material and is very sturdy. It exceeded my expectations and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. However, I can't say the same for the service. If I hadn't filed a claim with PayPal, I don't know if I would have ever received my vest.
So, if you're thinking about ordering from Old Trading Post Western Store, I would suggest using PayPal so you have a fallback option. The customer service may not be the best, but the product is definitely worth it. Yeehaw!

I've been contacting them several times, but all I got was an email response saying orders can take up to 12 weeks. Well, it's been more than 12 weeks now, and I'm still empty-handed.
Luckily, I'm a business owner myself, and I know how to deal with this kind of problem. So, I've contacted the FBI Cyber Crimes, The Better Business Bureau, The California Attorney General Cyber Crimes Unit, California Department of Commerce, and even checked the information on file with the State of California. I found out that Old Trading Post Western Store is an active stock corporation formed in California, with a principal address at 1528 South El Camino Real, Suite 110, San Mateo, CA ***, and a mailing address at the same location. The agent individual is Michael Lai, also at the same address.
The website uses a privacy service to hide their address and information, but I found out that I can report these types of matters to the registrar URL of the ICANN WHOIS Data Problem Reporting System: http://wdprs.internic.net/.
Now, listen up, Old Trading Post Western Store. I'm not gonna let you do this to another customer. I have both the know-how and the financial wherewithal to follow through. You are hereby notified. I had a less than satisfactory experience with Old Trading Post Western Store. I had to resort to contacting the FBI after waiting for my order for an extended period of time. After posting my intentions of contacting the authorities, I received a voicemail from "Mike" who claimed to be working on my order. However, I did not trust his credibility and decided to report the business to the FBI's Cybercrime Website.
After a few days, I received a FedEx tracking number from OTP, but I was skeptical and ignored it. The next day, the shipment was cancelled, but I received another tracking notification on the third day. Finally, after waiting for what felt like an eternity, I received my purchase. However, the packaging was poor and there was no paperwork included.
I was not impressed with the product or the business's communication and customer service skills. I would rate their business management a 1/2 star and their customer service level the lousiest of all. Their communication skills were as nonexistent as BigFoot's language. It was almost like a Celestial Intervention had to take place before I finally received my purchase.
I am not sure if it was my bank or the FBI who prompted OTP to expedite the delivery of my purchase. Regardless, I am grateful for the resolution of this issue. I would not recommend this business to anyone and would not purchase from them again.

I ordered a gun belt and leather holster for one of my revolvers on August 1st, and after about 2 weeks of waiting, I still hadn't received any confirmation. I decided to reach out to the owner via email, and he informed me that the holster was being custom fit to my specific model of gun. He also mentioned that I should allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.
Finally, after a total of 3 weeks, I received my order on August 21st. I was disappointed to find that the holster was made in Mexico and was not as custom molded to my gun as I had hoped. In fact, it was so sloppy that I wouldn't feel comfortable riding or hiking with it, as the gun just slops around and could easily bounce out. The hammer loop also doesn't instill much confidence.
To try and fix the issue, I've had to lay the holster down flat with a heavy ammo can sitting on it, in an attempt to "custom mold" some of the slop out of it. Needless to say, I'm not very happy with my purchase.

I purchased a gun belt and crossdraw holster rig from this company on Dec. 24th, 2020. There was a 6 to 8 week wait on the product that turned into about 12 weeks which was no big deal. The product arrived mid April. The rig was made for a right handed shooter and I clearly ordered a left hand rig. I attempted to contact the company through their website and via cellphone with no response. I have left multiple messages and simply wanted the order replaced correctly. I understand mistakes happen and would have been fine with waiting a few weeks for it to be corrected. No effort has been made by this company to return my attempts at communication or fix the problem. It seems I am not the only person to experience this treatment

(My first and only order with this vendor). I ordered a leather holster on August 22nd. As of today, January 5th. That was more than 19 weeks ago.I have emailed at least 6 time to check on status of order. I have also called a phone number, which went to a voicemail. I have left a voice message asking to be called back and to request an order cancellation and refund. I have also written specifically to ask to cancel and for a refund. I only receive sparse and non specific responses such as "your order will ship this week or next".

I emailed and did receive a response but was told it would ship within two weeks. That was three weeks ago. I emailed again and received no response. Sent another email and was advised they thought they had responded but now say it will be shipped by the end of the month. I've explained that I paid for this when I ordered, I've been patient about delivery. I'm now asking for a refund but getting no response. Wondering if this is even a legitimate company now.

I purchased a gun belt and crossdraw holster rig from this company on Dec. 24th, 2020. There was a 6 to 8 week wait on the product that turned into about 12 weeks which was no big deal. The product arrived mid April. The rig was made for a right handed shooter and I clearly ordered a left hand rig. I attempted to contact the company through their website and via cellphone with no response. I have left multiple messages and simply wanted the order replaced correctly. I understand mistakes happen and would have been fine with waiting a few weeks for it to be corrected. No effort has been made by this company to return my attempts at communication or fix the problem. It seems I am not the only person to experience this treatment
