HVAC and AC contract
Reliance Home Comfort has issued me a bill from this company from a HVAC and AC install which both failed after a few years. No where on this hand written contract which had many errors which had been crossed out and changed does it state Reliance. Both Reliance and Ontario Home Services are Shady and dishonest and no one should entertain either of those businesses
Desired outcome: Removal of an apparent outstanding bill from Reliance saying i owe them money.

Furnace / air
This company was told my mother didn't want their furnace. They came back the next day with the furnace on hand and installed it with bullying tactics when my senior mother was home alone. She was promised rebates and discounts on her utilities but never got anything. They sent someone out to deal with her complaints and convinced her to buy an air...

hepa filter and carbon filter
June 15/17 a young man named Xander from Ontario Home Services came to the door unannounced to us and conned us into buying a HEPA Filter system for our furnace. He wanted to see our Hydro bill and said he could get the supplies Just Energy removed from our Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Company Bill and the difference we would save would pay for the HEPA system - sounds good - right? Well, a year later Just Energy was still on our bill and I called a number of times and they said it will be removed, it will be removed. We had another young man I believe his name was Mike and he says that the job wasn't completed and they had to put another piece of equipment on the furnace. We said, ok (what do we know?) A young man came and I let him in down to the basement and he is starting to install this other piece that we were told would make the HEPA work. I spoke to a man named Usman on the phone and he said have him stop installing because we didn't want it and was a lie. They kid stopped his work and left. Then on July 18/17 another young man called Chris called and said he wanted to check on our equipment. He came and like all the other young men that this horrible company hires, was a nice, clean cut kid. He looked at our water softener which we purchased from Simply Comfort now called Simply Smart and he said they should have installed a Carbon Filter when the installed the water softener, leading me to believe that he was from Simply Smart and he also said he would get that Just Energy Company off my Hydro Bill - which never happened. Long story longer, I am stuck with these two pieces of equipment that I don't want and can't afford. They started out in the $60 range and now are both in the $70's. Now, that same scummy company called and said they are now called Simply Green I think he said - his name is Matthew - and he said they didn't finish the job and we were suppose to get insulation in our attic and that Simply Comfort and his company are now under the same umbrella and he wants to see my Hydro Bill (once again) and he will get me a discount on my hydro and would also combine the water softener (different company) the HEPA and Carbon filters under one reduces bill along with the insulation in the attic. He also said he will bring me the 3 filters that go in that HEPA system. I am not trusting this company and feel like I as a senior have been taken advantage of. I don't want these two pieces of equipment and can't also afford them. How can I get out of this scam. I read on BBB that this company has 15 complaints in against them. Please help me.
October 19/18 - why can't I submit this complaint?
Ontario Home Services is a disreputable company and should be stopped. Please help me.
Please help me get out of these contracts that I am stuck in for 10 years.
hvac system
To whom it may concern,
We have fallen victim to their scam regarding the HVAC system. A person came in from Ontario Home Services and told us our AC was able to get an upgrade and there would be no extra charge however on our bill we did find a charge which we were unaware about. Now we have filled a complaint against them and are in dispute and have asked UtileBill to stop our bills however they have kept sending us bills and now have threatened to put a lien on our property. We request you to look at this situation and help us out.
Thank you,
Roy Family
I am in the same situation. But I must tell you. The moment that you signed the agreement, they placed a lien on our house that is called a NOSI. That is a Notice of Security Interest. So when you sell your house, the buyer will not want these on your property. You will have to pay them out to complete your sale.
I have tried the court route and it was miserable and intimidating. I gained nothing. I did legally under law cancel these contracts. They refuse to accept the cancellation. There you have it. The NOSI is still on my property.
I hope I can help. I have been to court many times. They beat me down. I stopped payment right away with this company. I notified them within a year as per Consumer Protection. When I signed the contract there was no info on the equipment. You need that for a lien. However, they did it the moment you signed the contract And they sold your contract to UtilEbill...so they have the lien or NOSI on your property.
I have gone after OHS but I think it has to be UtilEbill...and by the way...they have the same scummy lawyer. Hope I have helped you. This is not a small claims court complaint. It is Superior Court and the costs now to file are double so you have to think that if you should lose then you pay for them and yourself. That is scarey. If I sell, I will pay them out but for now, I am living my house in relative comfort and also they have never ever serviced this equipment.
tankless water heater
My dad signed a contract for water heater at the door in January 8th 2018 and today I got a bill for tankless water heater. The saleperson said the amount for monthly payment will be covered by a credit which is not true. He claimed the water heater is old and if anything happened to the reliance old water heater they will not able to fix it. He want to find a reason to sign an expensive long term contract. The old water heater was working fine and we are only paying 20 dollars a month. Door to door sales are illegal since March 1st. I believe some companies are not abiding by door to door sales ban and forging signatures.
