Outdoorsy Scam!!!!

Total ripoff! Do not get sucked into their scam! After 3 weeks of the reservation 3 days before my scheduled trip, the host Sonya Holmes told me driver verification took 48 hours. Then outdoorsy required ANOTHER submission of a selfie with license info. Then they requested my passport. Then my insurance info was required by the host. The host said it wasn't needed, outdoorsy is covering it. Back and forth on that without confirmation that we were all set. So 2 days before my trip, the host messaged me that they $1,100 deposit needed to be made. No way am I authorizing that, I cancelled my trip, they scammed me out of 25% of my payment! They took the entire payment up front. The host was rude with every communication and outdoorsy said fine, cancel, we'll just keep your 25%. I have a screenshot of everything and I'm going straight to my bank to dispute the charge. SCAM

Outdoorsy We booked a RV April 15th for a mid-July trip, expecting I was doing my due diligence by booking far in advance of our trip

We booked a RV April 15th for a mid-July trip, expecting I was doing my due diligence by booking far in advance of our trip. On June 12th, less than 30 days from our trip, our reservation was cancelled by the RV owner without reason. We were refunded the full deposit, but are now left in a bind because all similar RVs were booked for our area, and we already have paid our deposits to the camp sites we planned to use. Outdoorsy only offered us a $50 credit for us to rebook and a service to "help us find a new rental", which they were not able to do again because summer fills up quickly and everything was already booked. We had to spend countless hours calling local rental locations and sites to rebook for our vacation or stand to lose more money and miss our vacation. Had I as the renter cancelled within 30 days, I would have owed the RV owner/Outdoorsy money for canceling, but in the case, they were allowed to cancel on me without repercussion. I am not even able to leave a review on the RV owner. Since I have noticed the poor review process Outdoorsy provides for their RV owners. Last, I have finally found a new rental locally, but it will now cost me $1000 more for an RV for my trip, which is a very frustrating added expense to our trip. I will not recommend or use Outdoorsy in the future.

Buyer Beware*** Outdoorsy's insurance subsidiary (Roamly) is engaged in unethical business practices and may not honor your insurance agreement if you are in an accident with an Outdoorsy vehicle.I rented an RV from Outdoorsy and was involved in a minor accident in July . Outdoorsy charged my credit card on file immediately for damages. I have now been engaged with the company representatives for 5 months trying to resolve the claim, and receive reimbursement (minus my deductible) per policy of the insurance plan I paid for. The company is stonewalling me in what appears to be a deliberate tactic to fatigue and annoy in hopes I will accept non-reimbursement and go away.Similar complaints can be found on the Complaintsboard.com website. And officials at the *** of *** of Texas and *** have indicated that I'm not the only consumer struggling with this experience. If you're experiencing a similar nightmare it helps them to hear from you. If you document your experience and share with the Complaintsboard.com and *** of ***, enough complaints can help them apply pressure to force Outdoorsy to honor its insurance agreements in a timely manner. The odds of an accident are small, but somewhat higher when you're driving a new and larger vehicle than your used to - BE AWARE - that Outdoorsy has a history of not honoring its reimbursement policies in a timely manner and could result in a huge, months-long head ache, and indefinite "inability" to resolve your claim and reimburse you for damages charged to your credit card.Don't wish this on anyone. Consider other rental agencies besides Outdoorsy or potentially purchase additional 3rd party insurance to protect yourself.

Be extremely careful when you rent RV from Outdoorsy. The policy they have is to have renter be responsible for "any failure" during renting period, i.e. including failures because of improper owner maintenance, defected part, and etc. For example, if someone rent out his/her "new RV" and has a defected jack, and the jack failed during your renting period, you are responsible for paying it. It's not like renting a car from most car rentals which rental company is responsible for car failure not due to improper use, you are responsible for "any failure" doesn't matter what's the cause of failure. I wouldn't recommend anyone renting RV from Outdoorsy as you are putting yourself on a huge liability which you cannot control.

Outdoorsy is a horrible company to deal with. They continue to charge my credit card 3 months after we returned the *** They say I caused damage to the unit but refuse to show me any evidence of the damage. The unit broke down on our trip and it took all day to get the *** running again. Yet they refuse to refund the day we lost sitting in a parking lot with a non running *** Their contract states all charges to the renter are based solely on the decision of outdoorsy, so you cant disagree with anything they charge you. This company needs to be investigated, definitely take advantage of the consumer. Run dont walk away from this company. Especially Vic renting out of *** . I even paid for the insurance, but yet they still charge you. Horrible company, terrible service and I ended up paying to fix the *** while we were traveling, they refuse to reimburse me . Dont let outdoorsy ruin your family vacation, rent from somewhere else

My RV was delisted from Oct 2021 to Feb 1 2022. I found this when a friend of mine ask for my R V link. in Sep last year , a RV renter needed to pay me repair fee 235, she said she lived nearby , and wanted to stopby to give me cash, then I received a warning letter from Outdorsy, told me I couldn't do outside transactions. I said no problem and let the renter pay through the outdoorsy.but they forget to unhide my list. for 4 months! They said they would give me a fair soultion, then turn out the fair solution was a sorry, I asked them, a sorry is enough ? they said , off course not enough , is very very sorry:);):) Just want to tell a funny story , and hope you all laugh happily!

We had two RVs which we had rented out for almost two years through Outdoorsy and for most of that time had been happy with the experience. We always felt that the amount they made off each transaction (30%+) was too much but we hadn't been able to find any insurance company to work with us so this was our only option. Almost a year ago one of our vehicles was totaled during a rental, luckily nobody was injured but the vehicle was a complete loss. Outdoorsy advertises on their website that they are insured by Liberty Mutual, but when our vehicle was totaled they put us in contact with an agent from a company called Littleton Group who ended up denying our claim. We consulted other insurance companies who all told us that our vehicle absolutely would've been covered by any full coverage policy, the Littleton Group said that might be true but their policy with Outdoorsy has some differences from most full coverage plans which was not at all what I was told by the Outdoorsy agent I spoke to at length before listing our vehicle. Again, they've refused to provide any documentation about the coverage repeatedly insisting that the brief description of coverage on their website was all they had (which to me read as though our vehicle should've been covered). Now we're in the process of filing a lawsuit in hopes of recovering some of the value of the vehicle, a portion of which will go to paying the lawyers fees.

We reserved an *** thru Outdoorsy in October for an August trip. In June, we attempted to message the *** owner thru the app. After receiving resource not found we called the company. Despite an active reservation that was still confirmed on the site, the rep learned that the owner had pulled the rig. The company NEVER canceled our reservation or contacted us to advise. Had we not called we would have shown up at the owners home with no idea. With few options for a 3 week rental in a short turn around time, we asked for our deposit to be returned. There was no apology from Outdoorsy although the customer service rep was understanding. Having little faith in Outdoorsy we chose to rent from Cruise America as we had multiple camping reservations. User beware!

I had an additional *** taken from my account on this app. This had nothing to do with the rental agreement or rental that I purchased. I tried talking with someone that works for Outdoorsy on the app asking them why they took an additional charge. This had nothing to do with a deposit or anything else that I can see as of this point. I would like my money back but they have said they can't see anything. On 07/19 they took money from my account linked to the app. They have not returned the money.

hey aim to have a dispute process that help makes sure things go as they should. We had a nightmare rental where this guy and his partner pennied us to death which meant he took our deposit and found reasons like a lost remote i found the next day. Charged me $50 for it . I told him and Outdoorsy i found it. 3 days later i get a email they rook our deposit and recharged our card another $225. He said we late and never called and what happend was the blinker wasnt working from the inspection. He knew it and so did i. We were pulled over in *** and then in *** and again in NC and it added up to alot of time. We sent him our location around noon and he said we didnt until 5 minutes before we showed up. Lie we sent him the link at noon 4 hours before. He has cornerd and verbally abused my PA partner who is a first responder at *** for 20 years. He spit in her face as he pojnted gis finger in her face and told her how this is gonna get nasty and how he is gonna take our deposit and to watch out. She left scared out of her mind. She is like 125 5 ft 6 and he is like 6 ft 3 in about 350 lbs. She was so scared and we told outdoorsey that as well. He then also took property from the trailer and wouldnt let us empty the trailer when we pulled up. He has my medication bottle of a prescription i need for myswlf from my *** he also stole out brand new XBOX which i have really missed because of my condition which has me legally handicapped. We depend on our xbox for times im in great pain and cant move. I understand that when we asked him if we Could return the remote he said no he'd rather take our deposit instead. *here was a short in the stabilizer which made it so that we couldn't use the bathroom the water or the electricity because it won't let you until you stabilize the trailer and we couldn't do that because it was broken we called him and told him and he said that he can't talk and to call Roadside assistance and that he couldn't call us or talk or talk so we stayed up till one o'clock in the morning and we did get it to move because thankfully I'm an electrician and I was able to get it to move but I think there's a short in it so it was only temporary brewery we had 1 night where we were able to empty out the black tank and the *** tank which he then also yelled at *** telling her that she didn't empty it and that she's gonna pay for that when she knew that we emptied it he even told us that when we emptied the tank it may look full still according to the interface but not to worry because the stuff sticks to the sides and it looks full but it's really empty *he so he actually used that to charge us money he sent them pictures of an empty tank that looked full and we actually didn't even get *o use the bathroom we didn't get to take a shower we didn't get to it did to *** anything the v's were broken the sound didn't work we don't believe that we should have to pay full price and because of his treatment of us we should actually get a refund and he should be banned from using outdoors because of his treatment of us and because of how he treats women and the fact that outdoors he is supporting this mean individual individual until he is gone I will never use outdoors forever again because I don't want to end up running from him by accident And him having him hurt my partner. I need somebody in the executive part of outdoors in the contact me ASAP I would like my money back I would like to review erased and *** moved from using the service because of his behavior it's illegal and it's the only thing I can see if you guys aren't going to help us and listen to what we have to say then this woman has been a first responder for 20 years Iris and she's a good judge of character and she was scared of this man just because we had complaints He has initiated war war 3 on us and yeah *** and we don't even know if hes outside right now could we think that's what kind of person he is. Please contact us as soon as possible my number is *** my email is dongordon35. @gmail.com. I own a company and this is no way to treat customers we trusted you we believed that you were going to do something about this because you said that you were embarrassed for this man's behavior I told *** to get the truck relieving now before this guy does something it does something I didn't know that she was around the corner and that she was being stopped by him she all she was trying to escape and all he would do was stand in the way and not let her leave if not let her leave. Once I realized when I went around the other side of the trailer that he had her blocked then he moved she got in the truck and we left but he would not let me in there to get the rest of my stuff and yeah my stuff and we still had stuff on that trailer and we didn't even have a chance to get our stuff out of there just a few things that I had in on me when I walked out but once he walked out of his house he flipped out and there was no talking to him. Looking back on I should have called the police

I leased an *** 1.5 months ahead of my planned Thanksgiving Holiday travel period. My payment was accepted, my drivers license record approved for the rental, insurance, trip destination and my pets were approved and I received confirmation of my trip booking within 2 weeks of my booking request. I then received notice 2 days before scheduled pickup of the *** and departure that the owners had cancelled the availability of the *** and Outdoorsy cancelled my booking. Outdoorsy offered me another *** at a much higher rental price and milage fees and located 30 miles from my home that I would have to go pick up. This cancellation was so late that it effectively cancelled my Thanksgiving vacation due to there not being pet kennel space or air fares available to schedule at the last minute. I will never attempt to use their service again!

Outdoorsy Caution Advised: Outdoorsy's Insurance May Not Cover Accidents

Caution is advised when dealing with Outdoorsy's insurance subsidiary, Roamly, due to reports of unethical business practices and potential refusal to honor insurance agreements following accidents. My personal experience with Outdoorsy involved a minor RV accident in July , after which my credit card was immediately charged for damages. Despite five months of communication with company representatives to resolve the claim and seek reimbursement as per the insurance policy, I have encountered resistance and stalling tactics. This seems to be a strategy to wear down customers, pushing them to give up on reimbursement. Similar grievances are echoed on Complaintsboard.com, and consumer protection agencies in Texas have acknowledged this is not an isolated issue. Sharing your experiences with Complaintsboard.com and consumer protection agencies can collectively pressure Outdoorsy to fulfill its insurance obligations promptly. Be mindful that driving an unfamiliar, larger vehicle like an RV increases the risk of accidents, and Outdoorsy's track record suggests they may delay or avoid honoring reimbursement policies, leading to lengthy disputes and withheld compensation for damages. To avoid such scenarios, consider alternative rental options or securing additional third-party insurance for better protection.

I suggest people be very careful dealing with this company. I wanted to delete my account because of a booking experience I had . The first thing that happens, when confirming a booking you provide a credit card number and its locked into a separate account that I had to have the Outdoorsy staff delete my account then they have to contact another part of the company so they delete your card. You have lost control of your credit card. The reason this started is I found a trailer to rent, the owner had to get back to me , and I had to proceed with the booking process. The owner then informs me he will need his trailer during that time period. That time period should have been blocked out so there wasn't any confusion. ! Caution caution caution ! I don't trust this organization nor the affiliates!

Outdoorsy has zero protection for their customers. I booked a trip for a holiday weekend 2 months in advance the owner cancelled 2 weeks before the trip. I contacted over 10 other owners to try and book another rv but none were available or wanted to charge insane prices for a holiday weekend. I was refunded my money but had to cancel my trip completely due to lack of availability. I contacted support and they offered no solution except a sorry for your inconvenience. So if you want to book a trip with absolutely no guarantee that you will actually have a vehicle to rent then, they seem like the right company for you.

In June after booking a RV rental, the owner did not even own an RV. This means Outdoorsy did not even vet the people they list as RV owners. I will get into the fraudulent charges and how they try to make the customer a victim. This is just a terrible business point blank. They have refunded all my monies however, it felt like my options were to get shot or cut. TERRIBLE business. If this site requires documentations to validate my complaint, it is available upon request.

The service itself was easy but the ADVERTISEMENTS and SELLING MY INFORMATION to coach-net.com.Since I used outdoorsy EVERY *** video I now see has outdoorsy advertisements I received aa misleading email from coach-net.com thanking me for signing up with them and providing me a limited roadside assistance during trip time. It leads to a sales website. They are a Outdoorsy "Partner" which equates to selling my info. I will never use Outdoorsy again and will be sharing this information with all my friends and family on

Outdoorsy I share the concerns of others that Outdoorsy was not transparent about their insurance, which resulted in higher costs

I share the concerns of others that Outdoorsy was not transparent about their insurance, which resulted in higher costs. First, when I contacted Outdoorsy about travel insurance, 2 different agents told me that we could get travel insurance. At the time, there were some indicators that COVID might or might not become as big a deal as it became, and we of course wanted to protect against that risk. When I went to purchase it, I was told that there was a deadline that had already passed, even though this had not been mentioned before. I pointed out that I had received an email from Outdoorsy that morning encouraging me to buy it, but the answer was still No. When I asked for a copy of the transcript from the live chat agent who was telling me this, I eventually got an answer that I could not have this without a subpoena. That strikes me as pretty aggressive. Second, I was also required to buy insurance that I did not need. I was told that the owners required this. However, I asked Outdoorsy if I could furnish proof of insurance to the owners and they agreed that it was sufficient, would I be refunded if they were OK with that? The answer was No. How is that the owners' decision then? The concept of Outdoorsy is good--linking RV owners with people who want to rent and not buy. And our interactions with the RV owner were good. But I was left with a lingering bad taste that I had to pay Outdoorsy what seemed to be an exorbitant percentage for service fees + a product I did not need, while not being able to buy a product I did need. Add in Outdoorsy's requirement that all interactions I had with the owner be on Outdoorsy's platform--where they could be monitored by Outdoorsy, and I felt especially upset about their lack of transparency.

Outdoorsy was horrible. They charged my credit card 2x for same trip, and after going thru the proper dispute channels, NEVER reimbursed for the 2x charge. We rented unit for 6 nights, stayed first night no issues, on second night it got hot and we put on ac, and their was issue with unit and ac and electricity fried. Not only did Outdoorsy NOT refund or see we didnt have to pay for remaining nights- THEY actually charged our card for damage claimed by RV owner. Now I have no idea how a faulty electrical issue inside RV is renters fault, but nonetheless they charged us. We had 2 drivers on unit, the one who booked and one who paid, they continually sent messages back and forth on this dispute to wrong party- one of secondary drivers, rather than to myself- despite me telling them this and giving them proper contact information. I think it must be robotic sort of responses as things like the 2x charge (charge for 6 days 2x, go 0 response for resolution), but things like owner charges for electrical issue (clearly not a renter problem) , gets automatic charge, and no one picked up contact information shift. Avoid at all cost, if you have issues, you wont get resolution, wont be able to communictate with them, and apparently they will charge you at random per whatever RV owner says (as RV owner is where they make the commission is my guess, so they dont care about the renter). An RV owner could say oh btw, I need a new engine, rent the unit, renter show up with Rv that doesnt run, renters would get no refund of time with unit that never worked for example, cause outdoorsy favors owner, and then get a bill to pay for engine from rv owner auto charged. AVOID AVOID AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, Try a *** or other type organization that cares about properly fostering and managing their business.

One of the trailer owner Trisha M, has asked for some hidden fees and I have decline her offer, then she suddenly cancelled my booking without informing me, very unethical, uneducated, unprofessional. Just because it's our first time doesn't mean you will take advantage out of it. I ask outdoorsy about it and they told me that the 3 days booking will show unavailable, when I went back to her site, it shows available! One thing bad about this outdoorsy is, if the owner of the trailer did bad things, it will be difficult for the renters to write a review. So basically, this outdoorsy only works for the best interest of the owner and not both side.

Outdoorsy A renter crashed my trailer on July 14th rendering it inoperable

A renter crashed my trailer on July 14th rendering it inoperable. I submitted signed documentation to Outdoorsy as to it's condition upon departure as well as a list of damages caused by the renter- and signed by the renter. Outdoorsy also asked that I submit maintenance records, which I did, And photos of the damage, which I also did. For good measure I included screen grabs of the text messages the renter sent to me admitting to the accident. I was told my RV was covered by insurance- and the renter had purchased additional coverage through Outdoorsy. Sounds like a no brainer. Surely, my asset was protected, right? WRONG. Turns out, Outdoorsy says they sent me an email a month earlier stating that I must provide pre-departure photos to proving the condition of the trailer before the departure or the claim will be denied. I scoured through a sea of emails from Outdoorsy and found no such correspondence. I contacted Outdoorsy and ask that they forward me said email- they never did. I went ahead and found some photos that proved the condition of the trailer before the departure and submitted them. That should do it, right? WRONG AGAIN. Outdoorsy had dragged out this process and cost me income from lost rentals. (says in their contract they don't cover that either, btw). I reported the accident A MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND MY RV CONTINUES TO SIT IN STORAGE, UNREPAIRED. It took Outdoorsy OVER TWO WEEKS to initially deny my claim. When the claim was denied, I submitted the photos of the trailer before the departure and DIDN'T HEAR BACK FROM THEM. THERE IS NOBODY AVAILABLE TO SPEAK TO BY PHONE. THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT DOESN'T ACCEPT INCOMING CALLS AND THEY DON'T RETURN CALLS. I left multiple messages. I didn't find out until just a couple days ago that Outdoorsy received the pictures but is still denying my claim. THEY HAVE ACTED IN BAD FAITH. They're using a loophole so that they can keep selling very low risk- SCAM INSURANCE- to the renters. DO NOT USE OUTDOORSY. I have no choice bu to hire an attorney to go after the renter on my own. Outdoorsy will be hearing from the attorney as well.

Outdoorsy FYI, your comment about the insurance is not even close to being fact

FYI, your comment about the insurance is not even close to being fact. I have rented my RV 4 times this Summer through Outdoorsy. Nothing eventful, needed roadside service and got that done once. Renters purchased insurance every time and ALL I RECEIVED from Ourdoorsy was an email titled "Congratulations, YOU ARE COVERED!. And an explanation that my renter had purhased the insurance and been approved. ONe little link to "More INsurance Information" I clicked and has a blurb about $1Million in coverage blah, blah blah. Well, my last renter hit a tree, said he hit a tree, explained the whole accident to Outdoorsy. I filed a claim, they responded and said they needed photos which I sent. They after the 24-48 hour response time passed, I called...The adjustment company siad, they have no control over when Outdoorsy will call but should be 24-48 hours. Another 48 hours, I called again...same thing. 8 days later, I get an email, saying they received the photos but I need to send before and after photos and proof of ownership. I explained that I complete the departure form with any previous damage but no need to take pics every time when nothting has changed. I sent the proof of ownership. 2 days later, I get an email Thanks for your reply. In order for a claim to be accepted, we now require the following: Claims to be filed within 48 hours of the rental ending & Pre- and post-trip photos within 24 hours of departure/return Outdoorsy reserves the right to deny coverage under its protection packages if there has not been full compliance with these duties. You can read more about our claim requirements, and how insurance and claims work at Outdoorsy here. *** NOT ONCE did I receive in a prior 4 rentals an email outlining to me the requirments of photos. Thats pretty important*** Due to lack of pre-departure photos, we are unfortunately unable to accept your claim. We suggest filing a claim with either yours, or the renter's, personal insurance company to determine what coverage may be available to you through them. I am so sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Please let me know if you have any questions. Remember, my renter admitted to the damage and is now going to have to pay it out of his pocket. I told him he should get refunded the full amount of what he paid. Never renting with Outdoorsy again.

Outdoorsy We rented a RV from Outdoorsy for the purpose of transporting a 90 year old, wheelchair-bound, invalid to assisted living (via RV to avoid

We rented a RV from Outdoorsy for the purpose of transporting a 90 year old, wheelchair-bound, invalid to assisted living (via RV to avoid hotels during COVID) and were not told until after we picked up the RV that the leveling jacks (which were supposed to be included on the rental) were not functioning and therefore the RV could not be stabilized. Even on a flat campsite, the RV rocked from side to side with every step we took, putting all of us, but especially our elderly passenger, at great peril. The propane stove failed to function during use (lost its flame) due to our inability to stabilize the RV while parked. The propane-fueled refrigerator's temperature varied wildly also due to the imbalance of the vehicle which impacts propane functionality. As the RV had slide-outs, a stabilizing/leveling mechanism was even more critical as these slide-outs create their own balance issues. If the automatic stabilizers are not functional, it should be corporate policy that manual stabilizing jacks will be provided. The owner admitted that a prior renter had "sheered off" his automatic stabilizers. Why were the stabilizers/levelers not repaired prior to our rental? If there are pending insurance claims against an RV, it should not be available in the rental pool. It is not safe to camp in an RV without a stabilizing system of some sort, especially an RV with slide-outs. No one would choose to rent a vehicle that had critical repairs outstanding. There were cockroaches and ants in the RV upon arrival which the owner tried to pass off as being easy to pick up in campgrounds, but we had not yet arrived at a campground, the bugs were in the vehicle when we arrived. The Bluetooth and GPS functions in the RV were not operational and again the owner was aware of these malfunctions but did not disclose them. Worst of all, the brake lights were malfunctioning and blowing fuses which prevented us from putting the RV in Drive. The RV had exposed wires held together by tape and wire nuts which led to the brake lights. When those wires got wet (during rain on our trip) they shorted out and blew the brake fuse. The RV would not go into Drive unless we changed that fuse. We discovered this at a gas station during a rain shower whilst refueling when the vehicle would not go into Drive. We had to change that fuse all the way home, several hundred miles, every time we stopped, over a dozen times. While it was inconvenient to replace the fuse in order to put the RV into Drive, the reason the fuse was being blown in the first place was the bigger safety issue (faulty brake light connections). We were not provided any replacement fuses, so had to seek those out. The brake lights at this point, we noticed, only worked intermittently. Outdoorsy was contractually obligated to provide a functioning vehicle that met basic safety standards. The owner was unapologetic and Outdoorsy customer support has not been responsive. Based on this experience, we wouldn't recommend renting from Outdoorsy as they do not hold their owners accountable for misleading advertising nor malfunctioning vehicles. Further, they hide their corporate officer's contact information and are not transparent on steps they take to assure the safety of the RVs on their platform. Caveat emptor.

Outdoorsy *hey aim to have a dispute process that help makes sure things go as they should

hey aim to have a dispute process that help makes sure things go as they should.

Outdoorsy Payment for rental never received

We accepted and rented out our fifth wheel 2 months ago and still have yet to receive our payment for it. We delivered out trailer as well as picked up 4 days later. And have yet to be paid for it...my husband has since closed his account due to this! He literally told me he gave up on it! Not okay at all so I have taken it over trying to get our payment I've called 3 different times each time with a new answer and supposed to receive a call back that still has yet to call me back

Desired outcome: We would love to see our payment in our bank account or a check

Outdoorsy Reserved an RV from Grace via Outdoorsy, encountered issues with water, batteries, and a glass cover.

On 07/14, I reserved an RV from owner Grace through Outdoorsy, paying $622.38 plus a $500 deposit. Our family camped at Lake of The Woods, 45 miles from home. Lacking a tow vehicle, I paid for delivery and setup. Grace knew the site but didn't fill the RV's water tanks or charge the batteries fully, and didn't level the RV. Despite claiming ignorance of our 'dry camping,' local Grace had praised the site's beauty. A helpful camp host assisted us with power and leveling. Outdoorsy's booking process lacks a 'Dry Camping' notification option. Additionally, a glass cover over the stove shattered during use, a cleanup ensued, and despite the low cost of replacement, Outdoorsy withheld $476 from my deposit without clear justification.

RV / Trailer owners , BEWARE of Outdoorsy. STAY AWAY!. We listed and rented our Trailer trough Outdoorsy on 10/3/22 to a young lady and her 3 kids (2 month old , 6 yr old and 9 yr old) super nice family. Renter paid Outdoorsy for renting our Trailer until the 18th. Per Outdoorsy contract, my money should be in my account within 3 to 5 days. We are on day 10 and after hours of fighting with Outdoorsy on the phone, we can not get anyone to get us paid. We spoke with *** and *** at Outdoorsy (supervisors) and explained if we dont get paid now we are going to go pick up our trailer and have to kick renters out in the middle of nowhere at this camp site leaving them with no where to stay. *** , *** and *** exact words ( we are very sorry you feel this way and dont want this for our renters but we cant stop you) . They do not give a c*** about the renter or owners of the trailer/rv. We have established a relationship with the renter and explained what Outdoorsy is doing to us, we obviously did not kick them out. she had set up another rental for 1 month through Outdoorsy but is now canceling and going with a more reputable rental company.

I rented a *** through the Rideshare App outdoorsy, I was forced to purchase Insurance as part of the rental agreement,During the course of the rental the *** I was driving was sideswiped by another driver. The state I am in is an at fault state, and the other driver claimed fault, the police report identified the other driver as at fault, and the other drivers insurance company also claimed fault and was waiting on the *** Owners insurance company to contact them for subrogation. The insurance company i was forced to purchase from instead of pursuing the fault with the other drivers insurance company instead paid out to the owner, took my deductible, which I was aware was going to happen, and then denied that upon subrogation that i would be entitled to my deductible, because as part of the insurance agreement i was responsible for the deductible regardless of who was at fault. I dont feel that this is right because the insurance company through the course of subrogation would be reimbursed the full cost of the claim. meaning that I should owe up to $1000.00 of a zero dollar claim.

This company seemed great at first. If things go wrong, initially they seem like all they want to do is help. But they do nothing to make sure the vehicles on their site run well or are even safe. The vehicle I rented had rusted out wheel ***, couldnt steer well because the steering column joint was being held together with wire. The owner originally said he would give a refund, but then refused. In the dispute process through Outdoorsy, in spite of the pictures I sent they sided with the owner. Their reason for doing so was because the owner sent them a blurry copy of a safety inspection report. Problem is the year and vin on the inspection wasnt the same as the vehicle I rented. Outdoorsy did nothing to follow up to make sure the document was legitimate. And they obviously didnt have anyone look at the photos I sent. CVSE took one look at the photos and said the vehicle shouldnt be on the road. I sent that info to outdoorsy, but theyve done nothing. They offered me a quarter of what I spent for a vehicle that lasted 20km.

We have *** on the Outdoorsy platform. Before we go into our dilemma we are experiencing with this company. We want to be clear. What is happening to other's that are complaining, the response others are receiving here that are what we are experiencing. Excuses for not accepting a claim. Before we tell our story, FYI...we submitted pre-trip photos! We submitted inspection forms! We submitted damage photos. We submitted receipts! We had renters take *** to *** from CA. On the way back they had a tire blowout. The had to replace the tire; this is required by Outdoorsy in the rental agreement. Approximately 100 miles, our renters stopped to refuel. The tire that was replaced along with the rim dislodged bending the Axle! We, along with our renters got little to no help from Roadside Assistance! The facility the *** was towed to said parts would take 3 months and would charge $30 a day to store *** until repairs were made. Our guests were stuck it *** for 3 days! We couldn't get *** towed from NC to CA 125 miles; Outdoorsy refused! We had to pay $1,100 to have *** towed! We submitted a claim with Roamly; this is the insurance company Outdoorsy contracts with. The policy is paid for on each individual trip. We have dozens of emails requesting pre-trip photos; they already had! Roamly denied our claim! One obsurd email claimed it wasn't a collision accident...REALLY?! Now they say arbitration! This is cut-n-dry! We trusted Outdoorsy to insurance *** while it was in someone else's possession; they simply don't care! Other comparable complaints here shows this to be an accurate statement! Currently, *** is at a repair facility; it has been there since the end of July! We had to cancel 3 bookings! We were unable to rent *** since! We had a family vacation we had to cancel! Outdoorsy's tune throughout this process is...Deny! Deny! Deny! We will do everything in our power to expose the PITFALLS of renting or having an *** on Outdoorsy's platform!

Outdoorsy We rented an RV on the Outdoorsy.com website in the amount of $6,541.15

We rented an RV on the Outdoorsy.com website in the amount of $6,541.15. Approximately one week before we were scheduled to leave, the owner of the RV contacted us saying that they were terribly sorry but the RV was damaged by the previous renter. Outdoorsy has a "button" that you can select to transfer the refunded money from one owner to another. We were in a bind as we had a week to rent another RV and were very happy that we were able to find one available for our trip. The RVs were similar, with a few different renting variations. For example, the initial RV included 150 miles per day with .35 per mile overage charges. The RV we ended up renting included 100 miles per day with .30 per mile overage fee. in the end, we knew that the two would be a similar total amount. We used the Outdoorsy button to transfer our initial payment to the first owner over to the second owner knowing we had a credit of $961. We had a great trip and a relatively good experience until now. Upon return we owed the owner of the RV that we rented $800 extra for the additional mileage, this was not a problem, as we expected to pay them the difference with our "travel credit balance" of $961. The representative at Outdoorsy.com sent an email today basically telling us that we couldn't use our $961 to pay the owner out of our "travel credit balance". I have this email to forward if you need it. Outdoorsy said that we could use the $961 for a future rental if we ever decide to rent an RV through them again but we can't use our money to pay the owner for the mileage fee. I told them that I wanted our $961 refunded if we couldn't use it to pay for the remainder of our rental and I was told that they couldn't refund our money either. We can only use that money toward a future rental if we decide to rent another RV. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that she wasn't available. I told Oliver, the representative, that I was going to report this and that I needed to speak with somebody right away. I was told that the supervisor would call me tonight but that she said that her answer was the same as his, we cannot have our $961 refunded or applied to the rental. I have never heard of a business keeping almost $1000 in an account without an option for a refund, or in this case, we just want to apply it to the rental. I have pasted the email response below and will forward the email to you in its entirety (if needed). Hello ***, I hope this email finds you doing well! My name is Leo, with Outdoorsy customer support and thank you for your email. As per checking your account, you still have $961.00 travel credits left as your recent booking has a lower Total Booking Cost than the cancelled booking. Please note that travel credits can only be used for payments towards a booking and cannot be applied as payments for overage charges. We appreciate your understanding on this. If we can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are always here to help. ?Best regards, Leo Outdoorsy Customer Support I hope you can help us with this issue. Thank you

We paid extra for the Peace of Mind plan that included emergency roadside service. We had a flat tire during the trip and called the Outdoorsy emergency roadside assistance line to get help for the flat tire. *** was the vendor they chose. While we were responsible for the cost of the actual tire, Outdoorsy was to pay for the service per the terms of the agreement. We have two serious problems detailed below. Outdoorsy has failed to respond to three emails over nine days apparently trying the old ignore them and hope they go away routine. 1)The Outdoorsy credit card declined, and we had to pay the full amount. When we tried to tell their vendor that we were only responsible for the tire he said if we did not pay the full amount, he would take the tire back and leave us stranded. We paid the full amount trusting that Outdoorsy would reimburse us. 2)Their chosen vendor used a 2010 snow tire as a replacement. This violates the industry standard (and possibly state law) of not using tires more than six years old (this tire was 12 years old). This created an incredibly dangerous situation where the "new" tire (photo attached) failed after approximately *** miles and resulted in four tires having to be replaced at additional cost.

I was given an uninhabitable . After my attempting all other resolutions and unfulfilled promises by Outdoorsy to resolve the issues, I was promised a 100% refund (please see email confirmation). Subsequent to my return home, Outdoorsy refused to full refund and have withheld $274.17. I have included an email from Outdoorsy acknowledging the 100% refund as well as some photos showing the unacceptable condition of the *** they provided me. Also I have included a copy of a letter that I sent to the Outdoorsy CEO that explains in detail the sequents of events regarding this complaint. As of this writing, said letter has gone unanswered. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I requested and booked a *** rental on June 18th, 2022. I was charged $232.87 on June 21st, 2022. I was charged another $698.59 on August 3rd, 2022. The *** rental dates from August *** 2022 were supposed to come to $751.46 There was a $500 hold for insurance through the end of the trip. The *** was picked up by owner on June 21st around 11 AM, the agreed time. There was some damage found on the awning, two small plastic parts were broken. I stayed in contact with the owner. I was charged the whole amount of of the deductible and an email from Roamly, Outdoorsy's insurance provider saying that the cost of the repair was more than the deductible. I spoke with the own of the *** and he told me they have not come to fix his *** awning. *** then tried to get me to submit secondary insurance so they could rip me off even more money. They are a fraudulent company that is not fixing people's damaged 's, and then overcharging the renters of the . I would like my deductible back. It is $500.

Purchased RV insurance thru a company in ***, *** called ***. When we had minor accident, they charged us $1500 deductible, despite *** having paid extra for the "Peace of Mind" level of coverage, which is $500 deductible. *** of no help. We got circular buck passing within the company, with no resolution. This was clear misrepresentation to us and false sale of insurance product. We paid for level of insurance that we were not provided.

Outdoorsy My friend and I rented an RV for a week through the Outdoorsy platform

My friend and I rented an RV for a week through the Outdoorsy platform. We paid $1,698 for this rental, and a $500 deposit. After we returned the RV, the owner requested Outdoorsy to charge us $1,752 (the full $500 deposit + $1,252) in addition to what we had already paid for the rental. Apart from the additional mileage charge of $268, we disagree with the amount of these charges and immediately informed Outdoorsy of our disagreement. However, Outdoorsy took the liberty to charge our credit card without even taking the time to hear our response and check our documents. The charges we disagree with are the following: - $978.96 for the shower door + installation incl. tax - While we were driving, some of the shower door's slats got disconnected (although they did not seem stable to begin with) and we did not manage to put them back in place. The owner brought the RV for inspection and they charged $70 for repairing the door. However, she decided to change it entirely and to charge us $978.96 for this ($645 for the sliding door and $280 for the labor cost). We do not believe that the door needs to be changed given the issue seemed minor, and even if it had to be, we checked and got alternate quotes for similar doors costing only $150-300, which we sent to Outdoorsy. -$300 deep cleaning fee - When we rented / picked up the RV, we were not told that we had to deep clean it before giving it back. We cleaned it as well as we could given the material at our disposal (nothing, so we bought sponges) and the rainy weather on the day we returned it. The person who inspected the RV (***) with us told us that our cleaning was ok and that there should not be any additional fee. When presented with the return form, we asked about the $300 fee mentioned on the form, and *** wrote down next to that section that the full fee would not be charged. Outdoorsy has a copy this form. That being said and fully acknowledging there was indeed some dust/mud remaining on the floor due to the rain that day, we are happy to cover the hours that it took to clean this, which in all respects should not have taken more than a couple hours. We requested the owner and Outdoorsy several times to provide us with the bill that the owner paid for cleaning, so we can know the hourly rate that got charged and estimate, but we never received it. - $155.16 for the repair inspection by Crestview RV Center - During our trip, we accidentally damaged the water spigot on the side of the RV, and paid $110 to have it repaired, plus $25 to replace the water hose. The owner said she would charge us the repair inspection only if additional damage was discovered. As shown on the bill she provided, Crestview charged $70 for leak inspection but didn't find any additional leakage (only "wet insulation" which was fixed by buying a $14 DampRid bucket), and another $70 for fixing the shower door slats as explained above. After communicating these points of disagreement to Outdoorsy Claim department, we were left without answer. As said above, Outdoorsy already took all the money from our credit card and we feel ripped off and scammed.

On July 10, 2022 I reserved an *** rental through Outdoorsy.com for the dates of September 2, through 5, 2022. I met the owner and used the *** through the weekend and then returned the *** to the owner on Sep. 5th as agreed with no damage. I spoke to the owner again on Sep. 6, 2022 and he confirmed no damage and said he released the $500 deposit with no deductions. By Sep. 10, 2022, Outdoorsy had not refunded my deposit and sent me an email stating that they were not able to bill my payment method another $500. I was confused as to why they were trying to bill me another $500 but was anticipating my $500 refund so I updated my payment method to which Outdoorsy.com billed me another $500 deposit. I immediately called their customer support phone number and they agreed to refund me the second $500 which they did. But now it is September 12, 2022 and they still have not refunded my first $500 deposit and they refuse to help me. They told me I need to call me bank which I told them they need to call their bank. I even offered to call their bank for them but they refused to inform which bank they use. I WANT MY DEPOSIT BACK IMMEDIATELY

I am an owner of a recreational vehicle that is listed for rental on Outdoorsy.com. Outdoorsy offers rental insurance to the renters when they book that they sign up for on their own. My vehicle was rented to an owner Aug 11th-16th. On the first day, the renter hit a deer which caused damage to the vehicle. I called outdoorsy immediately that same day to report the accident. They never informed me of a 2 day claim filing deadline that is NON NEGOTIABLE? In fact, it is the renters responsibility to file the claim but he was in a remote area camping with no internet and spotty cell reception. They are now denying the claim. I have no insurance or drivers info on the renter and Outdoorsy will not provide it for me...so therefore I am on the hook for the repairs that I did not cause. Outdoorsy is refusing to return any voice mail messages I have left...they only continue to email me that I am denied. The renter has filed an appeal and the same thing is happening to him as well. Please help!

On May 30th, I received back our 2020 Forest River Forester 3011 DSF motor home from Mr. and Mrs. *** after a 7-days rental through Outdoorsy, Inc. The motor home came back not only with scratches but with two (2) serious damages to the undercarriage. The right side rear skid plate for the hitch assembly had been sheared off and was flattened in two pieces which show that the hitch assembly struck either an object or hard surface and was dragged for some distance. The force of the impact also broke the footpad of the right rear [censored]embly. The extend of these damages will require the replacement of the hitch assembly and the entire jack itself. The claim for the two items as well for the overages in millage was submitted on the same day, May 30th. On June 1, I talked with *** between [protected] (MST) and requested her to hold the security deposit for 30-days while we got the estimates for the two damages. On June 7, I called again and talked to *** and she confirmed that the security deposit would be held until midnight on June 30th; she also told me that when the insurance claims rep first responds to us we should advise his/her that we also have overage fees of $107.35 for millage and $30.30 for propane that we needed to add-on, but that Outdoorsy must not refund the rest of the security deposit until the claim was settled. Outdoorsy took 15 days after our initial contact with them to assign a representative, ***, to our case. She sent an email introducing herself and requesting information that had sent already. I sent al the information again along with the estimate for the hitch replacement, on the same day. Since I did not receive any confirmation from her that she had received the documents, I sent another email on June 16; however, she never answered back any of my two emails. Four days later, *** sent an email with an appraisal for the jack and the jack system, but never for the hitch replacement. Since then we have been back and forth with emails, without getting any response from either *** or anyone for the Claims department. Now, the security deposit has been released, we have NEITHER BEEN PAID THE OVERAGES, NOR THE HITCH REPLACEMENT. We have sent pictures, documents, departure and return forms and still her last emal from June 30th, she still said that the hitch had not been reported in the initial claim, or in the return form. These statements are NOT ACCURATE, we have all emails and notes for every single call we made and we were very clear of the damages. She can contact the renter and verify that those damages are legit. However, we sent a response to her last email with MORE pictures taken on the day we picked up our motor home, and also HIGHLIGHTED the section on the return form where that specific damage was listed, and the RENTER SIGNED THE FORM ! Right now we have no money for the hitch replacement; we have not been able to rent our motor home, and not even the overages were received. THIS FEELS LIKE A COMPLETE RIP-OFF NOT ONLY TO US, BUT ALSO TO THE RENTER WHO PAID AN INSURANCE AND NOW HE WILL BE SUED BY US IF WE DO NOT GET THIS SETTLED !

This company does not seem capable of effectively mediating Security Deposit disputed, and their policies seem very unilateral in the Landlords favor. I had two very negative experiences with them, and from what Im seeing, I am not alone. Here is the review I have posted:I was very excited to try this app, as my wife and I are in the market for an . After two attempts, I would not recommend it. The first round involved an Airstream rental where we booked and paid for a week for a family vacation, and committed to the 50% non-refundable cancellation policy. Unfortunately the *** owner had no such recourse, and they canceled on us without concession. We scrambled to find something elseRound #2 - my wife booked an alternate *** and we sprung for the full delivery / setup and cleaning fee. When we arrived, the sheets were not changed and had bodily fluids on them from previous guests. Then at the end of our stay, the owner told my wife she would release the $900 Security Deposit once you write a review. *** wrote a four star review because of the above, and the owner flipped out. She documented all the pre-existing issues of her camper and told Outdoorsy we were to blame. We tried to appeal, but the Outdoorsy team seems to have forgotten about us. Long story short, I would recommend steering clear

I rented my travel trailer out on outdoorsy. The renter brought the trailer back with a destroyed AC unit and roof from running into an overhang. I have a 2 night minimum rental policy on my trailer, the renter paid for 2 nights of coverage Aug ***th 2022. The renter initially put the he was going to return the trailer on the 13th, he had something come up and was unable to return it until the 14th which was still a date that the renter had paid for. Outdoorsy is refusing to cover the damage costs to my trailer which is over $6,000 dollars. The renter paid for two full days of rental and should be entitled to two full days of coverage.

I had a trailer delivered through Outdoorsy.com for a camping trip on 9/2/22 - 9/5/22. The owner of the trailer is now making false accusation that I damaged the door handle and submitted a claim against me for $200. I did not cause any damage to his door handle. I ended up filing a counter dispute against the owner because the trailer was a death trap, rat f*** infested safety hazard. The Resolution Team said to allow 24 to 48 hours to get back to us. On 9/5/22, there the $200.00 charge on my credit card from Outdoorsy for the alleged damage, so basically Outdoorsy charged my credit card for the damages before they even settled the dispute. Today 9/7/22, I went to the Outdoorsy website to review their claims process and it states that in order for a owner to file a claim against a renter, there are two forms that need to be completed and signed by the owner and the renter. The name of those two forms are Towable RV Departure Form and the Towable RV Return Form. According to the Outdoorsy website, if you do not have these documents when filing a claim, your claim will be denied. The owner never presented me with any of these forms and I never signed anything. I would like to request that the Complaintsboard.com investigate Outdoorsy for charging my credit card on 9/5/22 for $200.00 before the investigation was completed. Also, I want to request the Complaintsboard.com to investigate Outdoorsy for not following their own claims procedure. Outdoorsy violated their own claims procedures by allowing the owner to file a claim without the proper documentation such as a Competed and Signed Towable RV Departure Form/Towable RV Return Form. Lastly, I would like to add that the owner is a fraud/scam artist and Outdoorsy does nothing except protect themselves. The owner accused the renter who had the trailer just a few days before me of breaking the door also. The review and pictures are there on the website and Outdoorsy continues to allow this con artist to list his trailer for rent on their website.

I rented an *** from Outdoorsy from July 3 - July 16th. I paid *** for the two weeks. I also paid an additional $1,000 for the security deposit. I have only received back $438.15 of my security deposit. I am still owed the remaining $561.85.I showed up to pick up the *** and had two children (13 to 14 years old) there to show me the *** and do the check out paperwork. I noticed that the *** had been wreck and painted compared to the pictures on the Oudoorsy website. The *** was wrecked, glued back together and painted with white spray paint. I should have taken pictures after the kids started talking about their dad taking people to court over this . I paid over $3,000 for an embarrassment of an . I paid over $800 in insurance. The kids showing us the *** popped up the electrical outlet (surge protector) and left it up we never used it. Later owner said it was broken and charged me $160 for a surge protector that his kids broke. When I returned the *** I had an even younger child (8 to 10 Years old) met me to check in the . The owner claimed an extra $120 cleaning fee. I had already paid a cleaning fee and returned it much cleaner than I picked it up. Basically the owner has pictures of the *** when it was new and uses them against what it looks like now to steal the security deposits of the renters. Outdoorsy was no help at all. This is a complete scam and I will not be a victim of it. Is it in Outdoorsy's policy that children can check in and out the 's they are renting? (I have video of this). Please compare the pictures on the Outdoorsy site when I rented the *** to the *** I picked up. I am demanding my remaining $561.85 of my security deposit back.

Outdoorsy My Name is John Doe and on June 9, my wife and I agreed to an initial contract we believed to be fair

My Name is John and on June 9, my wife and I agreed to an initial contract presented to us that we believed to be written with true intent between Outdoorsy, and the RV owner from Ohio and ourselves to rent the RV for 3 nights from June 22 to June 25. Let me emphasize that there was never any direct dialogue with the RV owner nor with Outdoorsy. The only communication was through technology online with no social media, just online registration. Outdoorsy processed the transaction with my credit card almost immediately. Although they promise prompt Customer Service, it never transpired! The total amount of the trip including taxes and fees was $839.85, paid using my Chase Visa Sapphire credit card. Proof of purchase is on my credit card statement. My wife and I always desired to vacation in an RV with our 3 young children and it was about to happen. We secured an RV slot at a park in NC and were excited about the trip. Unfortunately, this excitement turned into anxiety and despair. Here are the facts as to why there are contract violations and concerns of fraud. Since June 9, I have tried contacting the RV owner through Outdoorsy's Messaging Service without any response, which made us nervous because we had questions about using an RV for the first time and coordinating our pick up. These failed communication attempts have increased our despair and now we feel it's not safe to meet the owner. What if he doesn't even own an RV? He has no past customer reviews so we are acting on good faith. We are supposed to leave Monday, June 22, and we still have no confirmation of plans with this person! I have read several complaints on Complaintsboard.com about accidents due to poor RV references. Our worries have worsened because of Outdoorsy's abysmal customer service. I have tried all their communication options, Telephone support, live chat, and email without any response. I call their customer service every day and wait up to 3 hours on hold each time until they hang up. I have left urgent messages on their live chat without response, only to receive a generic email that says sorry for missing your call. My email attempts have also gone unanswered. We didn't want to cancel the trip, we just wanted reassurance about it. As of today, we DO NOT want to proceed with this trip and we want a full refund. We are also exploring legal counsel. This has been a very unfortunate and frustrating ordeal. We are asking the complaintsboard.com to act expeditiously to get this matter resolved. We expect Outdoorsy to refund us 100% of the total amount.

Outdoorsy Rented a 1999 National Tradewinds RV on 06/30 from an Outdoorsy owner

On 06/30, I rented a 1999 National Tradewinds RV via Outdoorsy. The total cost was $768.30 with a $1500 deposit. The rental experience was a disaster. Shortly after departure, I was stopped for missing headlights, which I replaced for $35.62. The generator then failed, necessitating an unplanned RV park stay. I purchased a replacement generator for $703.61 and spent $125.83 on a new battery and oil, installing it myself after 6 hours. The RV wouldn't exceed 35MPH, and at night, we lost all power, forcing us to stop on a dangerous road. Outdoorsy's roadside assistance was unavailable until after my trip's end. Despite long waits on calls and assurances of resolution, I never received a follow-up. The RV had a major interior leak, and while crossing the Hoover Dam, the hood detached. In Las Vegas, we navigated around wet carpet spots from leaks. The return trip was hazardous; the windshield was separating, creating a 2-inch gap, and the A/C was inoperative. I patched the windshield and continued in the heat. The gauges failed again, and the RV's steps were inoperable, requiring us to climb in. Warning lights appeared, and after an oil change and transmission reset, I managed to reach San Antonio at 35MPH. I drove mostly at night without A/C, headlights, or gauges. Outdoorsy has records of these issues, as confirmed by their representatives.

Outdoorsy I rented a Class C RV for a short trip from June 29 to July 1

I rented a Class C RV for a short trip from June 29 to July 1. The owner was recommended by friends, and after discussing the rental, he directed us to complete the process on a rental platform. The cost for two nights was over $1300 without clear delivery and return times. The owner's inconsistent scheduling and insistence on a three-night charge were red flags. The platform's moderate cancellation policy meant losing 25% in credits, so we proceeded. Customer service was slow to respond and advised resolving issues with the owner, who struggled with adjusting the overcharge. After much back-and-forth, we got the reservation corrected to two nights. The RV was delayed but finally ready at 7 pm. Post-trip, the owner's girlfriend checked the RV and approved its condition. Later, the owner claimed over $3700 in damages. I disputed this and contacted the platform about the insurance I had purchased. The platform's insurance had a $1000/day deductible, a detail not disclosed upfront. The platform charged my card $2000 without proper assessment. I've struggled to reach customer service for resolution. The platform and its insurance should ensure fairness in damage claims. The experience has been frustrating, with the platform seeming to favor owners over renters.

Outdoorsy On July 4th, I renter an RV online through the outdoorsy website

On July 4th, I renter an RV online through the outdoorsy website. We reserved an RV for three nights, July 17-19th returning on July 20th at 11:00am. We had a change in plan and decided to return the RV on the evening of July 19th and the RV owner agreed and change the price to two nights, July 17th and returning on July 19th. The day we picked up the RV, the owner did a quick walk through and told us to call him if we ran in to any issues or concerns. During the walk through, the owner stated that the last renters left the waste tank at 8% and he didn't get a chance to dump. Also, the tank was not tipped off at full, which all was ok as long as we returned the vehicle as it was given to us. We had several text messages back and forth regarding the 1/2 bathroom, the AC and a few other things while driving to our destination. Before getting to the destination, the RV needed Def and the light indication came on and we purchased the def needed and installed so we wont have any breakdowns along the way. Throughout the trip, we had several more calls and questions for the owner and kept in touch as we were driving back to return the unit. The evening of the 19th when we returned, we cleaned the RV, but did not refill the gas and retuned the waste tank at 8%. Both the owner and I knowing this, agreed that he would let us know the cost to refill the tank and the cost of over mileage. We were to get 250 miles per day and 8 hours of the generator included. She did not go over the generator miles, but knew we were over the miles. I was originally charge for 3 night a total of $1,589.97 and was later refuded $529.99 for the 3rd night we did not have the unit. There was also a $1500 refundable security deposit. The security deposit is the issue that i have disputed since July 25th when Outdoorsy charged my card. The owner told Outdoorsy that i damaged the RV, sole a blanket, did fill up the tank, whole in the sofa, didn't empty the tank, charge for a cleaning fee, over mileage, water pump running with no water, door lock not working and a 2.95% processing fee. When asked for a detailed statement, i was never provided one even until this day. The owner never responded and hoped i would just forget about it and move on. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! i work hard for my money and i am a fair and honest person. I contacted Outdoorsy to dispute the transaction and they told me that the owner took the funds from the account and that he would have to give it back. They said that all they could do is gather the information from the Owner and give recommendations. Outdoorsy reached out to the owner to get more information and was never able to get an invoice or quote for what was owned. The owner just took the max amount he could take and moved on. I have contacted Outdoorsy several times by phone and email and they are still awaiting information from the owner. The contract states that the owner has 48 hours to file a claim on the security deposit and it was filed 5 days later with no estate. If the owner stated all this was wrong with the unit, why didn't he say anything when i returned the unit and why did he wait 5 days to file the claim. The contract that Outdoorsy has seems to be one sided towards them and the owner. I am getting the short end and $1500 is nothing to play with and I want my money back now! I will pay for the over mileage, the fingernail sized hole in the sofa, the cost to refill the fuel tank, and the $5 blanket that was accidentally taken when doing laundry on the RV. That should be less than $750 and i want the rest of my money returned asap. The charge on my account was taken by Outdoorsy and they should be the ones to pay me back. I should not have to keep waiting for the owner to give me my money back or provide proof of damage and an invoice. Once hw came up with an amount that was just the exact amount of my deposit, you would think he would have had an estimate. It shows you the owners character by noticing he included a 2.95% processing fee and Outdoorsy stated that the $2.95% fee is their processing fee that they charge the owners for filing a claim on the security deposit. The owner was trying to pass the fee down to me. What a character! Clear indication that this guy was looking to get money from renters that was not morally right. Outdoorsy clearly does not care if i get my money back, they want to please the owner so they can continue renting his RV and taking people money that is not rightfully theirs. I need answers and i want my money back now.

Outdoorsy I rented an RV through Outdoorsy and as part of the rental agreement they require you to purchase liability insurance through them with Liberty

I rented an RV through Outdoorsy and as part of the rental agreement they require you to purchase liability insurance through them with Liberty mutual. Once you accept the $44/day rental insurance the next page will not allow you to proceed with your rental unless you accept two additional insurances including trip insurance. I decided to exit their rental process and rent elsewhere rather be forced into 2 additional insurances. Once I exited I received an email that my rental had been accepted. I then received daily emails "suggesting" purchases the two additional insurances. I have insurance on vehicles through state fram and confined I would be covered for an accidents during the trip so did not purchase additional insurance. During the trip the camper was hit by a driver who swerved to avoid a semi that nearly hit him. The police came and a report was filed, the other driver was liable for damages per the police. I sent photo's and contacted the owner of the RV and I also called the 800 not he insurance card, which ended up being Outdoorsy, about filing an accident report. I was told I had to file the accident report on line through their APP or through their web page. I went through their web page that night. Once all the details are complete on the report they will not accept the report until you click a box indicated you accept liability for any damages, similar to the statement below: "In the event of any loss or damage to the RV, or any personal property or bodily injury claim, that occurs during the rental period due to any cause regardless of fault, including, but not limited to, collision, rollover, theft, vandalism, seizure, fire, flood, hail or other acts of nature or God, the renter is held responsible, and is required to pay the deductible of $1,500 or $3,000 (depending on unit type). " I submitted all information regarding the accident including photos, the police report, and the insurance information for the at fault driver. I was interviewed the following week by the at fault drivers insurance company State Farm, which is also my insurance company. 10-14 days later I was contacted by the owner of the RV because Outdoorsy was not moving forward to repair his motor home. I contacted them and they indicated state Farm had not gotten back to them. I then received 2 emails indicating they were trying to charge my credit card for an up coming rental in the amount of $1500. When I contacted the claims department about the attempted charges they said it was a mistake but referred me to the statement I listed above regarding covering the cost of the RV repairs. The following day State Farm contacted me saying they HAD accepted liability for the accident and had been unsuccessfully trying to reach Outdoorsy to get the estimate so they could proceed with getting the RV repaired. The requested all my emails for contact information with Outdoorsy and contact information for the owner of the RV> The owner of the RV decided to just deal with State Fram and is no longer working with Outdoorsy. to resolve this claim or to list his RV for rent. Issues I have including being forced into third party insurance at $44.00 per day with Liberty Mutual, through Outdoorsy, then expecting the individual renting the RV to also accept liability for and cover any deductible. I feel the $44 /day should be refunded. I also people should be given the option to use their own insurance company for liability for accidents since it does not appear Liberty Mutual really covers much and a $1500 - $3000 deductible is ridiculous when I could have had full coverage through my own insurance with a much , much lower deductible. Their web page rental process is set up to limit completing a rental unless you accept additional unnecessary insurance. The accident reporting process does not allow completion of the report until you accept liability for the accident in the case insurance does not cover the deductible. Attempted false charges on my credit card twice for an "upcoming trip". Delaying repairs on the owners camper claiming they could not get in touch with State Farm. Meanwhile finding out from State Farm that had accepted Liability and could not get Outdoorsy to respond to their request for information. State Farm then reach out to me to get contact information on the owner of the RV so they could work with him directly. As soon as Outdoorsy found out the owner was working with State Farm Directly the immediately closed the claim. I do not believe Outdoorsy was being honest with the owner of the camper, State Farm or myself. I feel that if I had not purchased third party insurance with Liberty Mutual through Outdoorsy my State Farm agent and the liable party's Set Farm agent would have resolved this in April. I feel I should be refunded for the $44 per day insurance I was charged for that Outdoorsy did not seem to even get involved in the claims process. IF they were having issues getting in contact as they claim with the liable drivers insurance, State Farm, then Liberty Mutual should have covered damages and sured State Farm for the damages. None of the dozens of emails indicate Outdoorsy even notified Liberty Mutual. I was under the impression all I needed to do was file the accident report and Outdoorsy would provide the details to Liberty Mutual. State Farm is planning on following up with the Liberty Mutual policy and have requested all pages of the contract and Liberty Mutual insurance information. I do not feel any of this is honest business practice.
