Mixed Feelings on Pad & Quill Boom Case for iPhone Xs: A Review
So, I gotta say, I had a bit of a rough time with my order from Pad & Quill. Don't get me wrong, it's not their fault that my package got held up at customs in Greece and I had to pay a bunch of extra fees. They did warn me that this might happen for international orders, but I guess I didn't really think it through.
Anyway, I did end up paying more than double the original price, which was a bit of a bummer. But like I said, that's not really Pad & Quill's fault. They did their part by letting me know about the potential customs fees.
As for the product itself, I have some mixed feelings. I got the boom case for my iPhone Xs (regular size), and while it looks really nice, it does make my phone feel pretty bulky. I think if the wooden frame was thinner on all four sides, it would help a lot. Just my two cents.
Also, I have to say, for a luxury iPhone case, I was a little disappointed that the wooden frame wasn't glued onto the leather with more precision. It's a little bit unsymmetrical, which is kind of a bummer considering how much I ended up paying for it.
Overall, I think it's a nice product, but I'm not sure I would buy it again. The bulky feel with my iPhone Xs just isn't really my thing. But hey, everyone has their own preferences, so that's not really a knock against Pad & Quill.
Disappointing Quality and Customer Service from Pad & Quill for Apple Watch Band
I recently purchased the Lowry Cuff Band in Chestnut with black clasps for my Apple Watch from Pad & Quill. Unfortunately, the company over sold these bands and offered me an alternative in Whiskey & Nickle. I was a bit disappointed, but I still wanted a leather band for my new watch, so I obliged.
However, when I received the product, I was met with two defects. The bottom clasp did not lock into the bottom of the watch and would slide through, making it dangerous to use. Additionally, the retaining ring had a terrible patch up job that seemed like someone did just to get it out of the door. I could feel the heavy thread and poorly aligned leather under the band.
I reached out to the company via their website and email seeking assistance, but unfortunately, I have not received any response. Instead, I have received an additional promotion on their iPad cases.
I was really looking forward to conducting business with Pad & Quill as I enjoy leather accessories, but given the quality and care I have received, or the lack thereof, I personally suggest looking elsewhere. Independent retailers could do better than this.
Disappointing Customer Service: My Experience with P & Q Cartella MacBook Pro Case
I was really excited to get my hands on the P & Q Cartella MacBook Pro case from padandquill.com. The website made it sound like the perfect accessory for my computer. However, my experience with their customer service left a lot to be desired.
When I received the case, I noticed that there were some issues with the adhesive tape strips that hold it onto the computer. It turns out that P & Q had put crudely cut strips on top of the original ones, which made it incredibly difficult to remove the case. I was worried that I would damage my computer in the process.
When I reached out to P & Q for help, I was disappointed with their response. It took multiple emails just to get them to agree to send me another set of tape strips. And even then, the new strips were just as poorly cut as the first ones.
I was frustrated with the lack of communication from P & Q. It was impossible to get anyone on the phone, and their email responses were slow and unhelpful. It felt like they didn't care about my experience as a customer.
Overall, I would not recommend P & Q to anyone looking for a high-end MacBook case. While their products may look nice, their customer service is lacking. They act like a cheap, fly-by-night outfit when there is an issue, which is not what you would expect from a company that claims to be high-end.
Pad & Quill iPad Case Review: Stylish, Protective, and High-Quality
This is my second time purchasing a case from Pad & Quill and I must say, their products are top-notch. My first case was still in great condition, but since I upgraded to a larger iPad, I needed a new cover. If you're considering buying a cover from Pad & Quill for the first time, here are some things you should know:
1. If you're a fan of high-quality leather products, then you'll definitely love their covers. The leather is soft and durable, and it adds a touch of elegance to your device.
2. However, it's worth noting that the covers do add some weight to your iPad, especially the larger ones. But for me, the added weight is a small price to pay for the protection it provides.
3. Speaking of protection, the covers are designed to keep your iPad safe from scratches, bumps, and even accidental drops. I've dropped mine a few times, and the cover did its job perfectly.
4. If you use an Apple keyboard, you'll be happy to know that the covers are designed to incorporate them seamlessly. This is a great feature for those who use their iPad for work or school.
5. One thing to keep in mind is that if you tend to remove your iPad from the case frequently, the tape may lose its stickiness over time. So, it's a good idea to order extra tape just in case.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase from Pad & Quill. The only suggestion I have for the team is to consider putting the elastic the other way around so that it helps to keep the magnetized pencil with the case. This isn't a major issue, but it would be a nice design improvement. I've tied an additional piece of elastic to my cover, and it works well for me.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a high-quality, stylish, and protective cover for your iPad, I highly recommend Pad & Quill. Cheers!
Beautiful but Flawed: My Disappointing Experience with Pad & Quill's MacBook Pro Valet Case
I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 14" Valet Case from Pad & Quill and boy, did I spend a pretty penny on it! I shelled out over $400.00 Canadian dollars for this bag and was eagerly anticipating its arrival. Thankfully, it arrived in a timely manner and upon opening the package, I was immediately struck by how beautiful it looked and smelled. However, that's where the appeal ended for me.
The form and function of this valet bag left a lot to be desired. The closure did not fit well when closed and made the bag look poorly designed when carried by the handle. This was a major disappointment for me, especially since I had seen some of their other bags and was expecting better. To make matters worse, the front pocket advertised on their website with a wallet, keys, and charger was not practical at all. If you tried to fit all of those items in there, the bag would definitely not close properly. So, if you're looking for a bag to protect your $3500.00 laptop, I suggest you look elsewhere.
Another issue I encountered was the extremely tight fit of the bag. This caused the back of the rivets for the shoulder strap harness to be exposed inside the case, which over time will scratch the aluminum finish of your MacBook. This is definitely not what you want to happen to your expensive laptop!
I reached out to customer support with pictures and a video of the issues I was experiencing, hoping for some assistance. Unfortunately, they were not very helpful and simply stated that the ill-fitted closure and handle were designed that way. This left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.
In the end, I decided to have the bag modified locally in the hopes of making it more usable without looking badly made. If you're considering purchasing a bag from Pad & Quill, I suggest you do your research and read reviews carefully before making a decision. While the bag may look beautiful, it may not be practical for your needs.
Pad & Quill Heritage Leather Satchel Review: Thin Leather and Unreliable Stitching
I gotta tell ya, I got me one of them Pad & Quill bags, the heritage leather satchel, on sale back in November of 2018. At first, I was pretty happy with it. The leather seemed pretty thick and decent quality, ya know? But then I started to notice some things that weren't so great.
First off, that roll top leather is so thin, I don't think it's full grain. Now, I ain't no expert or nothin', but it's paper thin and can roll up real easy. I made the mistake of thinking I could carry it like a briefcase too, but that one handle on one side of the bag makes it all lop-sided and uneven. Don't make the same mistake I did, folks!
But the real kicker is the stitching. They call it "parachute grade" stitching, but I gotta say, it makes me wonder about the safety of parachutes! Within two months, the stitching on the "pad and quill" nameplate broke and started unraveling. I'm pretty sure the rest of the bag's stitching is gonna start unraveling too with some more use.
So, I reached out to Pad & Quill to see if they could fix it up for me, but it's been a week and I ain't heard nothin' back from 'em. Oh well, I guess.
Honestly, if I were you, I'd go for a real heritage brand and spend a few hundred dollars more. It'll be worth it in the long run, trust me.
Disappointed with Pad & Quill Phone Case: Fit Issues and Shady Return Policy
So, I recently purchased a phone case from Pad & Quill, and I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. The case I received doesn't fit my iPhone X, which is a bummer. I had a hard time navigating the website to find something that would fit my phone, which was frustrating.
To make matters worse, I just discovered that the satisfaction policy doesn't cover return shipping. I live in California, and I believe this is illegal under California law. The return policy doesn't mention anything about not covering return shipping, but when I tried to process the return, I found out that I would have to pay for shipping myself. This seems a bit shady to me.
I would appreciate it if someone could send me information on how to return the case I received. I noticed that the website mentions live chat and phone support, but neither of these options seem to be available. It would be great if someone could help me out with this.
Despite these issues, I do think the case itself is of high quality. I would be willing to do business with Pad & Quill again in the future, but I would hope that they would cover the return shipping fee for this order. I think that would be a fair compromise.
Thanks for your consideration,
Clark Freshman
P.S. I should mention that I'm a tenured law school professor, so I know a thing or two about consumer protection laws.
P.S. 2: I found the reference to smoke signals when returning items to be a bit amusing, but I didn't appreciate the message about not emailing multiple times and responding in the order in which things are sent. It came across as a bit rude.
Exceptional Customer Service and Quality Products from Pad & Quill
I called up Pad & Quill on the phone to ask about their new iPad Pro sleeve, and the person who answered was super friendly. We chatted for a bit and she even remembered my name! She answered my question and helped me decide between their leather sleeve and one from Brydge, which were both the same price. In the end, she gave me a promo code that brought the price down to $107. I was sold! I've been a loyal customer of Pad & Quill for a long time and have had their cases for all four generations of iPads and iPhones. I even have their leather messenger bag and Apple Pencil sleeve. I really love the quality of their products.
I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get the Oxford case for my new 12.9" iPad Pro because I really wanted the keyboard. I liked the Brydge keyboard solution more than the magic keyboard option. But that's okay, I'm still happy with my purchase.
Before we hung up, I mentioned an issue I was having with the adhesive on my 9.7" iPad Pro Oxford case. It wasn't sticking anymore and I had already used the replacement adhesive twice with no luck. The person on the phone said she would send me new foam backed tape like what it came with, and she wouldn't even charge me for it! What a great employee Pad & Quill has on their team. She made my day and I'm still enjoying the luxury of their fine products.
Disappointed with Pad & Quill's iPhone XR case - poor fit and uncomfortable to hold
I gotta say, I had a pretty good experience with Pad & Quill before, but this time around, I'm not too happy. I had their cover for my iPhone 7 and it was the bee's knees - fit like a glove, looked sharp, and kept my phone safe and sound. So when I upgraded to the iPhone XR, I didn't even think twice about getting a new cover from them. But boy, was I disappointed.
The fit of this new case is just not up to snuff. It's way too big, especially around the hinge panel. When I close the cover, it overlaps the phone and base by over a centimeter, which makes the whole thing feel flappy and awkward. It's not comfortable to hold and it doesn't feel secure at all. I reached out to Pad & Quill to see if they could help me out, and here's what they said:
"They designed the new Bella Fino XR cases to be a little different this time around, with a new expanded, wider spine than the past Bella Fino cases."
Well, that's all well and good, but it doesn't change the fact that this case is just not working for me. And for the price I paid, I expected a lot better. They did offer to let me return the case, but since I live in the far east, it's just not worth it. So now I'm out of luck and out of money.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with Pad & Quill this time around. I hope they can get their act together and start making cases that actually fit properly.
Mixed Review: Pad and Quill iPad Portfolio Case - Great Looking but Not Suited for Regular Use with a Keyboard
This website is not good for mobile users. I had to reset my password multiple times and finally had to use a computer to log in. The mobile website has many problems with the user interface. The website design is not good and it doesn't work with 1Password App, Google Chrome Passwords, or Apple Key Chain.
My main concern is with the iPad portfolio. I have been using it for a while now and it keeps dropping my Apple Pencil. This is a $100 device and I can't trust the portfolio to hold it securely anymore. I have had to replace the tip several times and I have to search for the USB cap daily because the pencil falls out of the holder.
I do not recommend this case/portfolio. Pad and Quill does not allow me to update my original review, which is frustrating.
However, when I first got the case, I loved it. It looks and feels great, and it is very durable. The leather has some marks now, but they add character to the case. The Apple Pencil holder is convenient, but it stretches over time and the pencil falls out occasionally. The inside pocket is functional, but it makes the iPad Pro keyboard almost unusable. The elastic band to hold the case closed keeps the iPad from sitting flat on the table, which is annoying. Removing the iPad from the adhesive and case is a major effort, so I almost never do it anymore. The case doesn't fold back upon itself easily when open in one hand, so it is difficult to manage and use the iPad while standing. It also doubles the weight of your iPad.
Overall, this is a great-looking and functional case for professionals, but it is definitely not suited for regular use with a keyboard.
Pad & Quill Complaints 10
Disappointing Quality and Poor Design: My Experience with Pad & Quill iPhone Cases
I've been a customer of Pad & Quill since they first started out, and I've always been a big fan of their leather iPhone cases. However, I've noticed that the quality of their leather has gone down significantly in recent years. It's much thinner and more easily damaged than it used to be.
One thing that really bothers me is that they don't show on their website photos that the leather doesn't cover the entire cutout for the camera. It looks really shoddy and cheap, especially considering how much they charge for their cases.
But the biggest issue I've had with Pad & Quill recently is with their most recent case for the iPhone Pro 12. It's so poorly made that my phone is constantly slipping out of the case. I was walking on an incline and my phone fell out and cracked on the pavement. It was a total disaster.
It's really disappointing to see a company that used to make such high-quality products now producing such shoddy work. I used to recommend Pad & Quill to all my friends, but now I wouldn't even consider buying from them again.
Stylish but Shoddy: My Experience with the Pad & Quill Contega Linen iPad Pro Case
I gotta say, I bought the contega linen iPad Pro case from Pad & Quill and it's a real looker. But, I gotta be honest, the construction is a bit shoddy. The elastic band was the first thing to give out on me. I tried to reach out to the company through email, but they just told me to send it in for repairs at some crazy high cost. I mean, come on, it was just glued to the linen fabric! I decided to just let it go, because it would have cost me more to send it in than to just fix it myself.
But wait, there's more! Several months later, the birch wood frame started splintering and breaking off. I mean, what gives? I paid a pretty penny for this thing and it's falling apart on me.
Overall, if you're willing to shell out a lot of dough for a product that won't last, then go ahead and get the Pad & Quill case. But if you're looking for something that's gonna stand the test of time, you might wanna look elsewhere.
Pad & Quill Journal Cover Review: Limited Compatibility and Frustrating Discount Code
So, I was checkin' out Pad & Quill's website and they offered me a discount code if I signed up for their email list. I was like, "heck yeah, I love discounts!" But when I tried to use the code, it said it was invalid. What a bummer, man.
Anyway, I got this leather medium journal cover as a Christmas gift 'cause I like to write in journals. But it turns out it only fits Pad & Quill's journals. That's kinda smart from a business standpoint, but it's not cool for the customer. Now I gotta use their journals if I wanna use the fancy $69 cover I got.
I mean, it wouldn't be a big deal if their journals were worth the $25 price tag. But I haven't tried 'em out yet, so who knows. And it would be nice if I could use the cover on other companies' journals too. But I guess that's just wishful thinking.
Overall, I'm not super impressed with Pad & Quill's customer service. The discount code not working and the limited compatibility of the journal cover are kinda frustrating. But hey, maybe their journals are amazing and I'll change my mind. We'll see.

Stylish and High-Quality Phone Case with One Major Drawback: A Pad & Quill Review
The Pad & Quill phone case is a great option for those looking for a stylish and high-quality case. The leather is top-notch and the stitching is impeccable. However, there is one issue that I encountered with this case. The poly tray that holds the phone is attached to the leather by 3m adhesive. Unfortunately, this means that the tray and the phone can easily fall away from the leather when opening or removing the phone from the case. I received one case with this problem, but I contacted customer service and they were very friendly and helpful. They acknowledged that it was defective and sent me a new one. However, the new one had the exact same issue. As soon as I opened the case, the tray popped away from the leather about 3/4 of the way. I was disappointed and decided to return the case for a refund.
Despite this issue, I still believe that the quality of the leather and stitching is excellent. The case is also very stylish and looks great. However, the lack of a secure attachment to keep your phone safe is a major drawback. If you're someone who is constantly on the go and needs a case that will keep your phone secure, this may not be the best option for you. However, if you're looking for a stylish case that will protect your phone from scratches and minor bumps, this case is definitely worth considering.
Overall, I would recommend the Pad & Quill phone case to anyone who is looking for a high-quality and stylish case. Just be aware of the issue with the poly tray and make sure that you're comfortable with the lack of a secure attachment before making your purchase.
Review of Pad & Quill: High-Quality Products with Room for Improvement in Shopping Experience
My experience with Pad & Quill was a bit frustrating at first. I found the process of making a purchase to be a bit difficult due to the many prompts that I encountered. When I selected a product from the search bar, I had to search for it again before I could proceed with the purchase. I think that this could be improved upon to make the shopping experience more seamless.
Despite this initial frustration, I was impressed with the selection of products available on the site. I was particularly interested in the Luxury iPhone 8 Plus Wallet in Galloper Black & Plum. However, I was disappointed to find that it was displayed for purchase but wasn't actually available when I called to inquire about it. I think that the site should be updated to reflect the availability of products to avoid any confusion for customers.
One thing that I really appreciate about Pad & Quill is the attention to detail in their products. The Galloper Black & Plum color is absolutely stunning and I would love to see it available in the Traveler as well. Overall, I think that Pad & Quill offers high-quality products that are worth the investment. However, I would recommend that they work on improving the shopping experience to make it more user-friendly.
Review of Pad & Quill's Website: Ordering Process and Navigation
I recently visited Pad & Quill's website and had a bit of trouble with the ordering process. (1) Unfortunately, the "Place Your Order" screen froze on me multiple times, causing me to exit and try a different browser. Even then, I still encountered the same issue. Eventually, I was able to successfully place my order, but I imagine many people would have given up by that point.
Additionally, I found the font size of the entered text (such as name and address) to be smaller than the input request text (like "Name"), which made the entry process a bit frustrating. (2) I had to double-check my work multiple times to ensure that everything was entered correctly.
Lastly, I found the shipping and payment options to be a bit confusing. (3) There wasn't a clear box or symbol to indicate which option I was selecting, so I had to fumble my way through the process until I finally figured it out.
Overall, I believe that Pad & Quill has fantastic products, but their website could use some improvement. (4) It's not quite up to par with the quality of their brand. Despite these issues, I would still recommend their products to others.
Disappointing Oxford Magnetic Case for iPad Pro 11 from Pad & Quill: Weak Magnets and Dull Color
I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out about my Oxford magnetic case for my iPad Pro 11 from Pad & Quill. I mean, this thing ain't cheap, and it's just not up to snuff. First off, it looks like it's made pretty well, but the color ain't what I was expecting. I mean, it's not the end of the world or anything, but it's definitely not as pretty as what I saw on their website. Instead of that rich, reddish whiskey color, it's just a flat, dull brown. And there's some variations in the skin, too. Not a huge deal, but still kinda disappointing.
But the real problem is the magnets. They're just not strong enough to keep my iPad safe and secure. I mean, this thing is fragile and expensive, and I don't want it falling out of the case every time I open it. When I reached out to customer service, they told me that the magnets are just there to hold it upright. I mean, sure, gravity helps with that, but this is supposed to be a protective case! If my iPad falls out every time I open it - which it does, regularly - then it's just not doing its job.
So, yeah, I'd say buyer beware on this one. It's just not worth the price if it's not gonna keep your iPad safe and secure.
Disappointed with Pad & Quill's Cherry Wood Phone Cases: Defective and Poor Customer Service
So, I just got two cases from Pad & Quill. I was so excited to put my phone in the leather case, but when I did, the cherry wood split on both sides. I was so bummed out, I had to email customer service to see what they could do for me. They got back to me with a memo saying they knew about the issue with the Cherry cases. They said they could send me a replacement inner case next month that I'd install into my outer leather case. Next month! Can you believe it? They knew about the issue and still sent it to me. I was so disappointed that I asked for a full refund. But they said I had to send it back before they could give me my money back. What a hassle! Their customer service is terrible! I used to love this company and was a repeat customer, but now I'm disgusted by the way they're treating me. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy from them if they knowingly send out defective $135 phone cases. Be careful when buying from them.
Impressive Products, But Room for Improvement: A Pad & Quill Review
I gotta say, Pad & Quill's products are pretty darn impressive. However, there are a few things that I think could use some improvement. First off, their website can be a bit wonky at times. I had a hard time finding the leather balm and cleaner/conditioner products - there wasn't a direct link to them or anything. And when I was trying to find a case for my 2018 iPad Pro in the whiskey/baseball mitt color, I couldn't seem to locate it. So I ended up settling for the chocolate color instead.
I did reach out to the folks at Pad & Quill via email to ask about the possibility of a case that would fit over my Brydge keyboard. When the keyboard is attached, there are some bumps at the hinge location that I think would need to be taken into account. I'm wondering if they'd be interested in making a case that's thick enough and has some embossed humps on the leather to accommodate that particular keyboard. I've heard that the Brydge keyboard is the best one out there right now (as of April 2019), so it would be awesome if Pad & Quill could make a case that works with it.
Overall, I'm really happy with the quality of Pad & Quill's products. They're definitely top notch. But I do think there's some room for improvement when it comes to their website and product selection.
Disappointing Experience with Pad & Quill's iPad Case: A Review
So, I gotta say, I had a pretty rough time with Pad & Quill's website when I tried to leave a review. But that's not even the worst part. The charging port cut out on my case isn't cut correctly, which is a major bummer. Now I gotta figure out how to fix it myself. Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with the whole thing. And the fact that I can't even return it? That says a lot about the company, if you ask me.
I mean, I get why this style of case is being phased out. It's just not practical for daily use on anything other than a Kindle. I read a bunch of reviews before I bought it, and they made it seem like the case would bend like the Contega. But that's just not the case (pun intended). The hard case doesn't bend, and it doesn't even create a self-contained iPad stand. What a waste of $80.
Don't get me wrong, the woodwork and case are nice. But it seems like Pad & Quill doesn't really care about basic users of non-iPad Pro models. They don't even make the Contega case for non-iPad Pro users. So, all in all, I wouldn't recommend this product. Save your money and look elsewhere.
