Steals Money and have incompetent “workers”
Papaya's service fell short of expectations. Despite canceling payment within the specified timeframe, they deducted $350 from my account. The ongoing struggle for a refund, coupled with their delayed response, has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. A cautionary experience that prompts a reconsideration of their reliability.
And now they are conveniently stating that finds were not taken from my bank account when bank statements were presented.
Recommendation: Do not use this all.
First month I used the app, no issues
First month I used the app, no issues. Second month I used the app and instead of the $20 payment that I input, they simply paid the entire medical bill of $192.43. They wont return my phone call or reply to email as to how this will be reconciled. App uninstalled, and not recommended at all.

Bill Pay Game Changer. This is the easiest and fastest way to pay a bill! I never download apps on my phone but I downloaded Papaya since I can pay ANY bill. I would forget to pays bills since they require me to call or go online...all time consuming. I ended up never paying paper bills that came in the mail... Now I pay my bills and doctor bills because of the ease of Papaya! I pay my bills standing at my mailbox with taking a picture of the bill with Papaya. I don't know how they do it... Magic! This is a game changer!
Great way to get rid of that paper bill pile. In this digital age, it's frustrating that we all still have to deal with paper bills. That's where Papaya comes inrather than taking time out of your busy day to figure out how to deal with that obnoxious doctor bill that somehow has no online payment option, just snap a pic, enter your payment info, and let Papaya take care of it. No calls, no stamps, done.
More saved trees! I haven't had physical checks in years and I always run into a problem with that when it comes to medical bills. But, Papaya saved the day! I just took quick picts of my Quest Diagnostic bills on my phone through the app and they were paid with very little effort on my part. Super easy to use and fast!
Just makes sense! Fantastic app! Back in the day, I cheered when my bank started letting me deposit checks by taking a picture, and now I wouldn't think of doing that any other way. This is just as slick, and for something that happens a lot more often. Just doesn't make sense to do it any other way. KUDOS!

Half my bills weren't paid. They came back declined and then I owed more fees for them being late.
Amazing! Used it to pay a parking ticket which are usually painful to pay. With Papaya I experienced no pain. I simply snapped a picture of the bill and it was paid. I've since used it to pay all of my other bills! Simply Fantastic!
Works every time, smooth, easy to use Papaya does exactly was it's supposed to, after inputting your credit card or banking info into the Papaya app, bills are paid simply by taking a photo of them and confirming the amount to pay. It usually takes a couple of days for the transaction to clear, but this is the case with most CC transactions. I also discovered that invoices emailed to me can be paid just as easily, ie, by downloading the email attachment directly to the Papaya app, and presto, after confirming the amount paid, it's done. That was a nice surprise, that I did Not need to print out the attachment and take a photo of it.

I have been using Papaya for about a year now. Never a problem until today. A medical provider sent me another bill indicating the 1st had not yet been paid and I was 30 days delinquent. I called Papaya. They answered right away. Colman explained what likely happened and said he would call the provider and straighten it out today. He did call me back an hour later to explain the provider's billing office had closed for the day and that he would pursue on the next business day. I will update this comment once this is resolved, but so far, I am extremely pleased with the customer service.
Update: Colman got it done and kept me appraised along the way. Great job. Just to reiterate, it took only one call to Papaya from me and that was it. They did the rest. Problem resolved. Will continue to use Papaya. Very convenient and great customer service.
I submitted a payment and it's over due and it's almos a month and they have send the payment or put my money back to my account!
I payed my gas bill on January 14 in the amount of $193.58
I payed my gas bill on January 14 in the amount of $193.58. I was informed by my gas company yesterday that they never received the payment and now i am past due over $250. There is no way to contact this company besides an email. I don't think it's write to make customers wait for a response when they have a big issue. I would not recommend. Definitely gives scam vibes.

When it works, it's easy. However, I have had almost $300 in payments made through the app but the provider doesn't see them and is continuing to send invoices. I have confirmation emails from Papaya showing that the payment has been confirmed and I can see where the amounts have been taken out of my account. When I call the provider, they say they don't accept payments from Papaya. For the one provider that does accept payments from Papaya it works great. But the hassle I'm going through now with the other providers makes it not worth it. I'll just continue to send paper checks, which is still a hassle but not as much as having to deal with these issues.
I paid a medical bill with my checking account using this app. The money came out of my checking account but then I received a receipt from the hospital that showed it was charged to a credit card with additional fees added on as well. I do not even own a credit card. When I tried to get ahold of someone at Papayapay I only get an answering machine. I sent emails and have yet to get a response. Very sketchy. I have also seen other reviews of customers who had the same experience.
They charged me a $38 fee on my dental bill and DID NOT notify me they were doing it!
4 days after making a payment, it still hadn't posted
4 days after making a payment, it still hadn't posted. I had to make it myself so it wouldn't be late. Contacted customer service over 2 days ago to report the problem and never heard back. Bad faith service with horrible customer service. I hope I get my money returned but from the experience of others, it will probably be more aggravation. I'm beginning to think this app is a scam.

It's unacceptable that I have to download a third-party, for-profit app to pay an emergency room bill, and this company and the hospital should be ashamed of profiting off people who have no other choice. But that's not why they get 1-star.
This company flagged me as a "bot" five times and wouldn't accept my payment. There's nothing remarkable about me I'm in the U.S., I'm using a major credit card registered to me, I'm on a private wi-fi network, etc. When I tried to use their contact form, it wouldn't submit either. Conveniently, they have no trouble texting me about their service.
Needless to say, I'm not a bot and I've never had any issues paying anyone online, ever. The fact that this is a hospital bill is only adding to my stress at using this service. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, not that you'll have the choice.

On December 28th I used Papaya App for a payment to a service provider via credit card
On December 28th I used the bill payment App Papaya to make a payment ($839.74) to a service provider via credit card. I submitted an image of the bill, and filled out all required fields. I received a confirmation email to my email account and a message on the Papaya App that read "Your bill has been successfully submitted. We are now verifying your details and working to pay your bill". Payment was due at the latest on 5 January 2022. On 6 January I called the service provider when I realized payment had not been received. I spoke with the representative thrice about this issue who in turn has attempted from his end to resolve this matter. I checked with my Credit card company and there is no indication of any payment pending. This bill is now a week overdue. Would appreciate a response of some kind, even if it's to tell me they are unable to finish the transaction and why. Thank you.

I made a payment to pay my city for a utility bill and it was deducted from my bank account 2 times. One says from papaya and one says from the city but I only paid through papaya. I've contacted papaya through email several times with no response. I cannot find a contact phone number for them.
I paid my bill in full, it was just $25 from a health center. I accidentally paid an extra $25 and I am being refused a refund. My billing account balance is -$25, so it seems obvious that they know they have my money. Phones are not being answered, and online there is no link for a refund, Just the policy. They have kept my money for months.
I requested a bill payment from my *** account on 9/2/2022 for a mortgage payment of $2,400.00. Your system says it will delivered by 9/10/2022. As of 9/14/2022 no check has been received, I have left 5 voice mail messages and sent 4 emails with NO return call or email from your company. I demand you refund the $2,400.00 to my account as I had to issue another check today and had to pay a $240.00 late fee.
This company is a scam. They were suppose to pay a phone bill for me. This all started on 9-1-2022. It first said it was in transfer I reached out to customer support multiple times no answer. They don't have a phone # on their website. It is now 9/14 and my bill is due on 9/16 still nothing from them. Stay far far away from this company.
I used the app called Papaya (claims they pay bills) I paid through this app on three bills
I used the app called Papaya (claims they pay bills) I paid through this app on three bills. Reviews looked good but they're deceiving. I paid a doctors bill, electric bill, and water bill using them. I have received letters now that my electricity, water will be turned off if not paid by 3.2.22 and they were paid on 2.16.22 but never received the money. The doctors office never received their payment. I'm asking they refund all of my money that they took. My electric bill was $295.00, water bill was $78.21, doctors bill of $165.00. So, I can pay these before they are disconnected on 3.2.22 and my credit is hit again and the fixture bill showing 120+ past due. Keep in mind, they ran the electric bill check through the bank on 2.18.21 and I just received a cutoff again today. I want my money back on all 3 accounts now. I've attached the images showing paid, transfer, etc. Please beware of this app.

I used this company to pay a medical bill as they are the credit card service company for the surgery center. I tried to pay 3 times and the first two times I was declined and the third time my credit card was accepted and my bank sent the money to this credit card service company but the money was never sent to the surgery center. The surgery center says i still owe them and this credit card company has no response. It is a significant sum of money and I want the money sent to the surgery center or refunded to my bank. I will never ever use this company again if they dont make this right. It is as if my money has been taken by this company with no way to get it back.
I paid a significant bill for $646.17 through Papaya on 8/24/2022. On 8/25/2022, I was charged twice, and I'm now over $600 negative in my checking account. The payment was processed by Papaya and another entity, so Papaya needs to refund the additional amount they withdrew. I've used their services many times before without any issues, but I will not be using them again.
They owe me a refund for a bill I attempted to pay. The company I tried to pay is called *** and they declined my payment because my insurance paid the bill. The amount is for $82.00. I made this payment on 08-02-22.
I used Papaya to pay a bill for a medical bill
I used Papaya to pay a bill for a medical bill. The amount of the bill was for $300 and the Papaya app says it was delivered on 12/30 and it shows the bill for $300 clearing my bank account on 1/5/2022. However, I received another bill for the medical bill with the $300 balance still showing. I contacted the medical bill company and they said they have no record of the bill being paid. I then contacted Papaya thru their app and was directed to file a ticket number, which I did. I received an automatic email with a ticket number. After not hearing from them I filed another ticket number...still no response! I then looked up their phone number and called and left message...still no response! At this point I just want to either have my money refunded by Papaya or to have them confirm payment and inform me or at least communicate with me concerning whether they are doing anything to rectify the issue.

I used bill pay for my rent which had to be paid by personal check. Over $1400 is now lost in the mail. I am now facing eviction due to this company who still has not contacted me in regards to my inquiry of my missing funds. I submitted the payment on 7.22.22 the check was to be delivered 7.29.22. I've escalated the issue and they still have not heard back from papaya bill pay. I need my money deposited back to my account or the check needs to be retrieved and sent to my apartment community. If the money is deposited back to my account I have to mail the check again in which they need to overnight the check at their cost.
I made ONE $100 payment yesterday 8/15/22 through Papaya app, towards my medical bill with Texas Oncology. I wake up this morning & there's a 2nd unauthorized payment submitted in wee hours of the morning (4:20 a.m., while I'm asleep) for the exact same amount of $100. I did not authorize another payment. I've been trying to call them this morning & no answer and I've sent an email. So far, no response. I'm attaching the one payment I made with confirmation and the text of another unauthorized charge submitted at 4:20a.m. & the two pending transactions on my card. I want a refund of that second unauthorized payment of $100. Thank You
The hospital I stayed at had Papaya as their method for paying their bill. I submitted my bill through papaya for $930.94 on July 16th, 2022. on July 22nd I recieved an email that my payment was delivered. 2 days ago I got a letter stating that I still need to pay the hospital and when I checked the app it showed payment declined. The money still hasn't been sent back to my account. I sent them 2 emails and made several phone calls, none of which have recieved a response.

I used the app to pay 2 bills
I used the app to pay 2 bills. They told me they cannot pay them cuz they were to close to the due date. They were not. So I asked them to cancel them. I received an email stating acknowledgement days later. Then I got no response about canceling. Then I emailed them again asking what is going on & again to cancel payments, Cuz by this time I had to pay the bills by phone. Then after 2 weeks past I get a call & the person said he was concerned about my irritated emails I sent. He said all would be canceled & he assured me that the payment would not go through. This all started the first week of June. It is July 14th & I just found out that they took the money from my account for the 2 payments. TOTALLY A SCAM. They are hoping people don't notice the money missing a month later. The owner is on a Video from*** advertising the app.*** is the owner's name. He is from ***. PLEASE GET THESE SCAMERS.

This bill payment APP gave me no upfront warning that they were going to charge my credit card 1 time for the actual bill payment $720.00 and a second time for the same bill $720.00 and hold that money for up to 5 days or more. The message I received after the bill was process was denied payment because end user did not show a bill matching mine. Even after the denied payment Papaya is still holding my money for 3-5 days. which also locked up my account due to insufficient funds.
On Friday July 29th 2022 I paid medical bill to a third party website of $25. They charged my card $1,053 and will not return my calls or emails. They stole over a thousand dollars from me and the bank can't help me, nor the medical facility because I paid using their recommended app. I am currently fighting trying to get my money back and am having no luck at all. I am furious and having to ask for help paying my normal bills until this gets resolved and they reimburse my thousand dollars. I have sent 4 emails between Friday July 29th 2022, to August 1nd 2022.
I paid a bill using Papaya on 6/24/2022. I received a confirmation number. The healthcare provider issued a final notice of payment on 7/30/2022 for the same invoice. I have no correspondence from papaya other than confirmation of payment. I would like an explanation and my debt settled immediately. Regards
Our medical provider uses a billing company that lists Papaya as a payment option on their printed bills
Our medical provider uses a billing company that lists Papaya as a payment option on their printed bills. We used this option in May 2022 to pay a bill. Papaya responded within a day or two stating that the bill had already been paid (i.e. no balance due). After waiting two weeks and not seeing a refund, we reached out to Papaya and were told that we should have automatically received a refund when the medical provider refused the payment, but due to a "rare error," a refund did not occur. Papaya promised to "escalate" our issue to an "engineering team" and that they would contact us when a "manual reimbursement" was issued. After waiting a month-and-a-half, we reached out to Papaya again and were told that Papaya's "engineering team" is still looking into the issue and that Papaya is trying to figure out the "best way" to issue refunds to "users affected." It's hard to believe that Papaya is a legitimate company if this is how they treat our money when it is entrusted to them.

This is in reference to a $162.63 medical bill that I paid to my medical provider Medical Plaza Family Medicine on 9/1 through the billing
This is in reference to a $162.63 medical bill that I paid to my medical provider Medical Plaza Family Medicine on 9/1 through the billing company's recommended payment app, Papaya. The Papaya confirmation number for this transaction is ***. My medical provider contacted the company about this issue since there was no contact information available to me for papaya. It was determined that the payment was send to another business in another state in error. My medical provider confirmed that Papaya retrieved the errant payment but Papaya never sent my provider the money. They continued to email Papaya on multiple different occasions with no success. To avoid my account with my medical provider being sent to collections, I had to pay them the full amount again. I received the email address for the company from my medical provider and contacted Papaya myself, but never received a response. I would simply like to recoup my money and warn other consumers to avoid Papaya.

I am complaining on behalf of PapayaPay
I am complaining on behalf of PapayaPay. I wanted to pay a medical bill of $90.00 on February 7 2022, and saw the option to pay quick and easy through this app. It claimed to be able to make payments easily and quickly but that wasn't the case. I was asked for personal information, and after I actually paid the bill amount I received a confirmation email that the bill was processed. I checked my account and the money was indeed taken from there. When I called to check with my doctor's office I was informed that the bill has not been paid. I sent an email, only to be informed that I would be about 3 business days until I would be replied to (or if at all). After the confirmation email I received another email asking for more information, which I am not willing to give. I would like a refund of my amount and to pay directly to my doctors office. It seems as if this app gathers personal information and data, only to take your money and make the process of paying bills that much harder.

I visited the local Urgent Care, got a bill via email from Papaya for the service charge
I visited the local Urgent Care and later received a bill via email from Papaya for the service charge. After paying through their app, I was informed they couldn't locate my bill and would issue a refund, which I received. However, Papaya then charged me again after I had settled the bill directly with Urgent Care over the phone. I reached out to Urgent Care about the duplicate payment but they had no record of the second transaction from Papaya. Trying to contact Papaya to resolve this was futile as no phone number was available. I've sent an email through their site and am waiting for a response. I strongly advise against using their services for any payments or business transactions.

I paid my electric bill through Papaya on January 17 and they have not paid it to the company as of February 4
I paid my electric bill through Papaya on January 17 and they have not paid it to the company as of February 4. I paid my electric bill through Papaya on January 17. They took the money out of my account on January 25. As of February 4 they have not paid it. I thought they had paid it since the money was taken from my account until yesterday when I received a phone call from the electric company threatening to cut my electricity off if it was not paid. This is NOT okay! I emailed Papaya immediately because I cannot find a number for Customer Service anywhere. I got a standard email back saying I would hear from them within two business days. I need this resolved now, not in two business days. They took the money and the bill should have been paid. It reflects badly on myself and my husband when my bill isn't paid. I trusted this company to pay it and they have not done it but they were quick to get the funds out. It has been 14 business days, 19 days total and it has not been paid.

I paid a bill on February 21 through the papaya pay application, at first it seemed that it had been paid and that everything was fine, the due date of that bill was for February 28, and on February 27 I received a email in which they required extra information to make the payment, but I don't understand why if papaya paid I took out the money from the bill the same day I made it, and now the bill is not paid, they have my money, I have sent them about 10 emails and no one answers them, I have tried to communicate with them everywhere but they do not answer the phone number, and I no longer know what to do because I want my money that is 255 dollars and I feel that they robbed me, because they do not even answer my emails, I want my money back, if you don't even know what is the responsibility of having an application in which people put their trust and their debit or credit cards, don't do it, because this is a scam, a shameless scam. PAPAYA stole my money and I want it back as soon as possible, so PAPAYA if you see this complaint from me, give me back my money thieves

I used Papaya to pay my Brea Urgent Care bill in the amount of $49.25
I used Papaya to pay my Brea Urgent Care bill in the amount of $49.25. They deducted the money from my account on April 21, 2022. Brea Urgent Care sent me another bill for the same amount of $49.25 on April 30, 2022. When I called Brea Urgent Care to tell them that I paid their bill using Papaya, they told me that they have not received payment, and that a lot of their patients have been having issues with this company when it comes to paying bills. They also said that it is our responsibility to contact Papaya, so that they can receive payment. I filled out a ticket on the the Papaya website on May 10, 2022, and it states that it will take 3 business days for a response. Today is May 19, 2022, 7 business days later, and still no response. I searched on google for their phone number, called it today, and none of their agents were available to receive my call. The message said we could leave a voicemail, but that it would be faster to use the contact form on the website. Anyways- I am going to pay the bill myself and want the money Papaya deducted from my account refunded.

I paid a bill through Papaya, well I attempted to
I paid a bill through Papaya, well I attempted to. I submitted a payment to my dentist, Dr. *** for $***. I got confirmation that it had been paid. A few days later, June 21st. I was contacted by my dentist and said the payment was declined. I went out to my bank account and see that on June 21st, $*** was in fact deducted from my account. I sent an email requesting an explanation and to get my money reimubursed and heard nothing. Through out the week, I sent 3 more emails and still no response. I found a number to call and all I got was several minutes of music... No automated system. At the end of last week, my account was credited $3.20 which I don't understand. They still owe me $***. I called the dentist today to verify that the payment hasn't since gone through and it has not. I called Papaya and emailed them again. This time I was only allowed to leave a voicemail, which I did. Still no response. So basically, they took $*** from account and won't give it back. I have tried 6 different times to get service and have gotten none. Please help. Thank you I do have a confirmation number that received via email saying that payment was successful. it is

I paid $338.00 for my light bill using bill pay via papaya, but my power was cut.
On 8/5/22, I paid $338.00 for my light bill using bill pay via papaya. It was deducted and I received a reference number. On 8/8/22, my power was cut during work. My neighbors had power, so I called the power company, who said they disconnected my services for non-payment. I mentioned my payment and reference number, but they had no record of it. They requested $316.10 to reconnect and advised me to get a refund and pay directly at their center for immediate restoration. I tried contacting papaya multiple times without success. With no power or response, I used rent savings to pay the $316.10. My original $338.00 hasn't been credited back, and it's not in my bank account. I need my money back urgently as I'm in a critical review period at my new job and can't afford to miss work. I didn't get paid for the two days without power. I urgently need assistance to recover my funds.

I made a payment with my **** to touch stone imaging who uses papaya pay as a third party in the amount of $1335.00
I made a payment with my *** to touch stone imaging who uses papaya pay as a third party in the amount of $1335.00. It was an overpayment and I am due a refund if $697.00. *** showed me that a refund was sent to me back on the card I paid with but when they provided me copies of this it was on a*** I do not own. I also show proof of this from my bank showing the payment with my ***. I can provide all these copies to *** if needed. I was told my touchstone imaging that when payments are given the numbers are changed when posting payments, papaya pay show I paid with a ***, I do not own a ***. *** therefore states I have to get my payment back from papaya pay who I have contacted and forwarded all correspondence from touchstone to them only to get an auto reply from papaya pay stating they are very busy are very busy and get back to me soon. It has been 2 months and no one will help me. I have never heard of a company that I make a payment to "change" numbers on an account and I think this is FRAUD and *** washes their hands and says I now have to contact the third party billing papaya pay for my refund. I also want to statue I had my insurance company explain in detail how the payment was paid in error and how I am due this huge refund.

Payment has not gone through; medical provider says Papaya often takes up to 3 weeks
Payment has not gone through; medical provider says Papaya often takes up to 3 weeks. I received a medical bill. Prominently displayed under the bill's total was encouragement to "Pay with a Picture in Seconds" using Papaya Payments, *** I thought this was the only way to pay online (I was wrong), so I downloaded the app and submitted my payment of *** on September 9. It has been stuck in "limbo" ever sincethe health provider has no record of me paying, it's not debited from my account, and Papaya has no way to cancel or recall the payment. I wrote Papaya on September 11 (you cannot call them) and on September 14 they said they would "look into it" and get back to me, but I haven't heard anything yet. I called the health provider and they said that Papaya is notoriously slowtaking 2-3 weeks to deliver payments. Papaya's schedule would make my payment late, and I am kicking myself for not reading the bill more carefully and simply paying another way. I would either like my payment processed immediatelypaid before the due date of September 23or immediately refunded to me so that I can simply pay my bill like a normal person. Even with the USPS being what it is, a check would've been faster at this rate. On September 15, I wrote Papaya indicating I would want this resolved or refunded by September 16 so that I could pay on my own if necessary.

On May 14 a payment was made through Papaya to a healthcare business
On May 14 a payment was made through Papaya to a healthcare business. Confirmation was received through Papaya that payment was accepted and delivered to the company. A month and a half later, I received a debt collection notice regarding this bill. It was never paid. I called the healthcare company immediately and they said they don't do business with a Papaya even though Papaya stated it does pay this company. I tried calling Papaya but could never get through. Apparently it's impossible to talk to a customer service person at Papaya. I wanted to find out why this happened, and also to let them know that I would be paying the bill directly to the debt collection agency now so this does not go on my credit report and negatively affect my credit. I also tried emailing Papaya. The fact that you cannot speak to a customer service person or get an answer immediately from this company is extremely poor customer service, especially when it's regarding payments of bills. Another concern of mine is that the money will be taken out of my account twice, since I had to pay directly to the debt collection agency now. All in all, spent over two hours of my day this morning dealing with this. Highly dissatisfied with the Papaya and the way the handle their business and claim "fast & easy bill pay". Hopefully someone eventually gets back to me from Papaya to deal with this urgent matter!
