I bought a reload-it pack in order to put money on my pre paid debit card. The money was NEVER posted to the card. Called the card company NUMEROUS times i was ALWAYS given the run around. They wanted me to fax my store reciepts which was no problem but after the first time i faxed it i thought the issue would be resolved. NOT! Upon calling them back i was told they never got it and that i needed to fax it again to a different number. This went on for two more times after the inital fax until i told them this is a scam. Still w/o MY money the call center (or someones house because you can hear kids in the back) is a FRAUD. I mean seriously when i asked the rep for the corporate number he said they only have an e-mail. BOTTOM LINE IS THIS DO NOT DO NOT PICK UP A PAY POWER VISA OF ANY SORT. They need to realize what they are doing is ILLEGAL taking someones money and not doing what you were contracted to is a CRIME.

Spent 200+ minutes on tracfone, $10 worth of faxing, and and a brandy and coke to tolerate the hassle of even being able to get my personalized card and pin to access my unemployment benefits. that was a month ago. now when i bought the card, the direct deposit bonus promotion was wait thirty days after starting direct deposit, get a $20 bonus. now it changed to "15 days after the second deposit." under the old system, i should have received that yesterday. under the new rules, three days ago. Put my tax refund in the hands of these people? hell no. no truth in advertising. on tv it's expected, with my money, not allowed. btw, to any paypower reps browsing the site instead of studying script, my "escalation code" is ITR:359442. Have a swell day.
(If you're not a real paypower rep, then the number above will serve you squat.)

I have to agree the pay power service is horrible. Almost every time i call i hear children as well and someone that barely speaks English. Not to mention I have to call four times in a row because they answer say their name and ask for the card number, and after i finish giving them it, they'll repeat the same thing over again, this will go on for about three more times til they hang up. Also i believe if i am buying their cards and paying the fees for reload-it packs and monthly fees, i should be able to do whatever i want with my money. But every time i even use the ATM i receive another block on the card, so I cant use the money or even access my internet account. WHAT A SCAM. I should still be able to sign into my account whenever i choose. They say it takes 1-2 days to remove this unnecessary block but it usually takes longer and the last time i called i waited over 5 days until i finally called them again on the 5th day to find out the idiot didn't even put in to remove the block. So i had to wait another three days. If they are so worried that they need to block my card for "security reasons" they should call me and notify me of the ATM activity to verify that it is I using my own money. Seriously i think they put a block just so they can make sure the cash is on the card so they can make sure they get their monthly fee. The service is horrible and the weekly blocks are unnecessary and inconvenient.

Do not waste your time calling these bast**ds. Every state has a department of consumer affairs (or a similarly named agency) WITHIN THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. File a complaint. Metabank is the bank that is supposedly behind these prepaid Visa cards. TURN UP THE HEAT!

Their customer service is HORRIBLE, and every time they go to escalate my issues "their supervisors are all busy" so they are unable to help me. All I wanted to do was cancel my card. And I'm not confident they cancelled it. When I asked for a reference number they did not want to give me one, until I continued to push. I still am not confident that my card has been cancelled. What a HASSLE. What's the point?

Oh somebody please tell me that the security hold of 1 to 2 days for trying to use the card before registering is not going to take longer. I thought you just had to register if u wanted to get a card with your name on it. But apparently this locks it for 1 to 2 days. I spent 100.00 for this card for my daughter to go on a 3 days school trip leaving TOMORROW! I'm so ready to cry right now! I can't afford to replace it and I've called twice so I think the request was actually submitted. This is terrible!

I have had this card for a month and it has been out on "hold" 4 times. Before I put $$ on my card 3 days ago I called customer service to double check my card was NOT on hold, I was told I had a $2.00 balance and my card was in good standing, so I did a reload pack and guess what? the card went on hold! I am still waiting to hear from thier seocnd level to call me, they called me last night and told me to call back to [protected], and customer serive said they cant out me thru to the corporate office and they had "no clue" whey I was givine thier number, so day three, card still not useable, I have to wait some form "corporate" to call me, and get the funds released, this is such a scam I will NEVER use this card again! Cant belivve it even says VISA, DO NOT USE THIS CARD

WOW...this is a completely fraudulent company. Absolutely never do business with them. Received my card as a gift...I think my gift giver would be pretty upset to learn that the $50 they gifted turned into $26 instantly because there was no way to activate the card. When you call the phone number it "activates" the card although you can't actually get a balance. So I called to get a balance 3 days ago, couldn't get their phone number to work, tried again tonight and hit 0 a bunch of times to finally get someone in a foreign country who didn't speak English, to find out that they wouldn't refund their "service charges." SCAM SCAM SCAM! I recently bought a Pay Power Card and they stole my money of the card and had the nerve to say I owed them $120.00 in overdraft fees! My jaw dropped, I couldn't even think straight for a minute. Huumm Lets see I put my hard earned $$$$ on this totally fraudulent Credit Card if you can call it that, and got scammed, and on top of that they wanted to take more $$ that I didn't even have on the card yet. What we need to do is file a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT for the people that have been scammed by this horrible company. I have spoken to an attorney and he said the owners and some of the employees of this company are looking at serious prison time! "20 years +"

Initially I had no problems with Pay Power. Today I was running errands & my card was declined at a local department store. I knew I had money on the card so asked the cashier to run it again. It was declined a second AND a third time. Fortunately, I had the cash to make the purchase but was embarassed. When I contacted Pay Power, they said their systems had a systems malfunction & that they would be up & running again shortly. So far, this has not happened. I am furious that they have my money & when I needed it, I was unable to access it. IF their systems go back up, I plan to use up the money I have on this account & never use them again. CONSUMERS BEWARE! DO NO NOT USE PAY POWER!

Having a similar experience. Purchased & loaded the card at my local Safeway, went to activate online and it would not let me do so. Read FAQ/Help page on Pay power website only to find a po box is not acceptable (yet it said nothing about this when I was filling out the form online, nor did it say this was a problem when it refused to let me activate/register the card). Again tried to register card & it wouldn't let me past enter card number & exp. date. Called customer service 5 times in an attempt to get a hold of someone. Finally did and they want a copy of my DL & SS to verify I am me, then hung up on me without giving an address/fax to send it to. Called back, asked to speak to a supervisor. After being given the run around I am told a supervisor will be with me shortly & they hung up on me again.
Emailed cs to try to find out how to get my $ and am told in addition to the above mentioned items, they also want any two from this list "Bank Statement, Cable/Satellite Bill, Pay Stub Phone Bill (for phone number input at registration), Rental/Lease Agreement (for residence address provided at registration) and/or Utility Bill. Due to falling on hard times I am currently living with the parents until I get back on my feet again. All I have in my name is my cell phone and the address is my p.o. box.
All I wanted was to order something nice for my husband online that he would enjoy & now I can't? According to cs this card can not be used for any online purchase without mailing/faxing documents proving who I am. My SS# and a question or two is all that is needed to verify who I am. My bank & former credit card co. had no problem using just my SS & a few questions. Why do they also need my DL & documents that I do not have? Even the IRS has no problem with a PO Box, nor has any credit card company or bank I have ever worked with.
If the local store had what I want to buy, I would have just bought the damn thing and not had to deal with this. Didn't use my bank card because I wanted the gift to be a surprise. Safeway also refuses to refund the amount loaded on the card. Am currently stuck in limbo with no foreseeable way to get all my money back in full. CS via email says card is active & usable, but have to send DL, SS (which I have available) AND documents I do not have in order to purchase online. Even when I still had real credit cards I never encountered such shoddy cs, intrusive requirements (how do I know my info is secure if I send it? I asked, they refused to answer). Never had such a pita process with the old green-dot cards or gift cards when I needed to make online purchases.

This company engages in false advertising (can use anywhere visa is accepted!). No it can't. Not unless you complete their registration process that says nothing about not being able to use a PO Box. Bad customer service, and by refusing to return my money in full for services they are failing to provide, are engaging in theft. For the record, the amount loaded on the card is under $120.

Going back to money orders sent with delivery confirmation. It may cost a few bucks more in terms of gas I can't really afford, but at least it's hassle free & and I am not being charged just to be able to buy something.

My mom had the same problem, she bought a REloadit card for $40, and tried to use it on her Netspend card (Which was advertised on their website). The website refused to load the money, so she called customer care to get a refund. They initially refused, but after she persisted, they said a refund check would be coming in the mail.

It never came, so I called them myself, and they said they reviewed the case and never sent the check because the claim was "unfounded." I signed up for a PayPower card just to try and get the money, and the site says that the REloadit card is in a state where the money can't be transferred.

I called the company and complained, and they told me that because of their findings, we wouldn't get the money back. I have talked ot an attorney, and may be filing a civil suit to get my money back, and may even go further because of the false advertising.

how can they get away with this crap? i had my enefits deposited on my card and they ended up putting a hold on my card too however i sent in all of the documents they asked for and even documents from the va verifying the deposit that it belongs to me and everything upon sending in my id they tell me the info i sent in does not verify the info they need and there is nothing i can send in to do so. they refuse to send me my money which is over 4000.00! and they say they will do nothing about it... so my money just gets to sit there until there stupid monthly fee eats it all up? BS. I tried to go through the va to get it but since i spent some of the money they cannot get the deposit back. i swear what they are doing is completely illegal. not to mention its bs that you have to call one number and talk to people that dont know what they are talking about and then have to wait over 2 days for a phone call back from someone else that doesnt really care about your issue. i provided everythhng they asked for and some this is bull sh... and i want my money back. There will be a class action against them... and i cant wait. i want my 4200.00 plus sufferring, losing my house and everything else because of their practices. i understand security but this company is definitely a scam!

I recently just had my taxes done and the person who did my taxes recommended pay power the company sent my card to the wrong address then they told me if i buy a reload pack they would transfer my tax refund from the card that was sent to the wrong address to the re loadable card i could find those cards no where in Ark or TN so i gave them a call they said they would send another card to the right address but i would have upload 5-20 dollars to a re loadable card and i explained to them i couldn't find their cards anywhere so anyway so they waive the fee so i could get another card and said i will get my card in 10 days. I called on the 16 of February my refund was put on the card on the 25 now this is march 1st i still haven't received my card i called again they said the card was mailed on the 19 but i had other agents said the 16. I hate to say it but the company makes themselves look awful it just sad they play with people money I'm going to wait few more days if i don't receive my card I'm calling the IRS. And contacting the FBI i do go to school for Law and i know whats right and wrong

I recieved a PayPower card when I filed my taxes. Boy... What a mistake! The card works fine, but the customer service is absolutely the worst I have ever encountered with a bank. For example, I ordered a replica of a James Bond watch worn by 007 in the movies for a friend, as a gift. About a month later, the broken watch was delivered in pieces! I tried to return the watch, but the seller would not provide me with an address. I tried many times to resolve the matter with the seller, but to no avail. So, I filed a dispute. I have NEVER heard one word about my dispute or the results. When I called, a man named "Richard" hung up on me! I have faxed them all of the information they ask for on the dispute form (along with an admission from the seller that he ripped me off!), but they have done nothing... nothing! I am out $100 now, and Pay Power will not make good on its promises. I swear to God, Himself, that I will call every regulatory agency, and notify every complaint board I can find, about this obvious den of thieves. Stay far away from them. Get a prepaid card from Wal-Mart.

Paypower Visa TravelMoney Card is a TERRIBLE product because you can be left stranded with NO way to add money to your Visa TravelMoney card because no Reloadit Packets are available at local authorized retailers for purchase.

I spent almost an entire day of vacation trying to add funds to two Paypower Visa TravelMoney cards. There was no way I could add funds to these cards other than purchasing the ReLoadit cards. I spoke to Paypower telephone reps and managers, etc but no one would permit me to add funds to these 2 cards via a charge from my personal visa platinum card (same card which I used to purchase the 2 Visa TravelMoney cards and load them with funds in the first place.

I called 6 local locations which sell the Reloadit packets and NONE of them had any reloadit cards in stock. Paypower still refused to allow me to load the 2 cards via a telephone or online transaction from my Visa Platinum card.

I contacted Visa for assistance and the telephone reps had no knowledge of these Visa TravelMoney Cards from Paypower. I will compliment the assistance I received from the Visa tele reps as they stayed with me through hours of telephone calls with Paypower and other Visa entities to try and help me during my emergency. Visa was NOT able to get a "Receive Code" from Paypower in order for me to do a MoneyGram transaction via telephone or online and via charge card instead of cash. The information on the Visa website is inaccurate based on the rules of Paypower Visa TravelMoney cards. I called and spoke with Paypower before I purchased the 2 cards and I was told i would be able to conduct transactions via telephone or online for these cards.

I learned that the Visa feature called "ReadyLink" (look for the logo on the back lower left of any travel card you are considering buying through VISA) which would have permitted me to load funds onto my 2 Visa TravelMoney Cards via telephone or online is NOT a feature of the Paypower Visa TravelMoney Card.

The only option I had was to take a cab on vacation to a local CVS store and make a MoneyGram transfer of funds to the 2 Paypower Visa TravelMoney cards. No one at Paypower or Visa could guarantee me the MoneyGram transaction would work, nor could they tell me if MoneyGram would allow me to charge the funds from my personal Visa Platinum card in order to load the 2 Paypower Visa TravelMoney Cards. In the end Moneygram could only accept cash because the cards were not part of the Visa "ReadyLink" benefit. Good thing I got cash at the hotel before taking the cab to the CVS or then I would have had to call another cab to take me to a local ATM and then back to CVS to do the Moneygram transaction. Moneygram took over 1 hour to complete the 2 transactions due to several errors by the staff.

In short - Consumer Beware these travel type debit cards. The information and instructions being written and discussed on phone and web is misleading and inaccurate and could cost the vacationer a great deal of stress and lost time.

DO NOT BUY PAYPOWER VISA TRAVELMONEY CARDS. If you have bought one immediately buy a reloadit packet in advance and pay the fee, even if you are not sure if you will need it as they are NOT always available at local retailers. READ all these comments. Call Visa to complain if you have had problems with Paypower Visa TravelMoney Cards.

I provided a Visa gift card purchased at Von's and issued by Blackhawk. I purchased it for a relative traveling from California to Nevada solely for the purchase of gas and other items for the trip. When my relative went to use it for the first time the card was declined. We called Blackhawk and were told that if you attempt to use the card directly at the pump the funds will be held on security hold for 3 days! I explained that my relative is at a gas station in the middle of the Mohave desert and the only funds he had were on the card. The representative said there's nothing he can do and referred us to the terms and conditions. After several hours stranded at the station I spoke to the owner and he agreed to fill the tank and allow me to personally wire the money to his bank account after checking my references. I cannot believe there wasn't a way for Blackhawk to release the hold based on confirmation especially in an emergency. I have filed complaints with the BBB and written both congressman and senator regarding this unacceptable business tactic.
