We have had our solar system for about 3 years and our experience with PE Solar has been very pleasant and rewarding
We have had our solar system for about 3 years and our experience with PE Solar has been very pleasant and rewarding. Most recently we believe our solar water heater was struck by lightening. After a few phone calls a manager returned our call from her outpatient treatment facility, because she chose to work. She is so passionate about her job and keeping her customers satisfied. Within 24 hours the work team was there checking on our system. Within 48 hours we received the replacement system, which my husband chose to install (it was very straight forward). The icing on the cake, the Manager followed up with us to ensure that we were satisfied and that my family had hot water again.? Of course, I've recommended PE Solar to friends.
It all started out great!
It all started out great! The project and install team did a great job of getting through the city permit process and keeping me informed every step of the way. They delivered what they said they would and when. I could not be more happy with the planning and install process. So, why one Star? Half the array went dark after only four days of operation - The service call went well and the system was back fully on line after a 4 day outage. A faulty micro inverter was blamed. Then less than a week later the same half of the array is once again off line. My confidence in the PE installation and the Enphase equipment is now approaching Zero. If the first 14 days of service are any indication, this product will require weekly repair going forward.
We have had our solar system operating for almost a month and production has exceeded our expectations! Although there were a few hiccups in the beginning of the process, PE SOLAR went out of their way to fix and/or accommodate our situation. Others have complained about pushy sales tactics. However, we had the exact opposite experience. In fact, it was because of *** knowledge, customer service, and personal attention that we felt confident in our decision to go with PE SOLAR. Our PM, Kaci, also went out of her way to explain the process and make sure we were comfortable and in the know throughout the entire process. So far we love our solar! I highly recommend PE SOLAR!
Absolutely the worst. Once they get your money you are at their mercy. During the initial installation I was told that they would not put solar panels on a roof that needed replacing. I was told that they would inspect the roof before installation to insure it was safe to proceed. One of the installers told my neighbor that they were not getting on that roof because he was afraid of falling thru. They installed the panels without the inspection. Fast forward a year. I had new roof installed and the roofer told me that every bracket that was installed by the solar panel company had caused rotting of the wood because they were not sealed. I had to replace 22 pieces of plywood ($3000). My builder took pictures and would testify to the fact that the brackets caused the damage. PEsolar charged me 800 to take off and 800 to put the panels back on. I wanted them to reimburse the removal and installation fees and reinstall the solar panels correctly this time at no cost. They refused and told me the roofers were not qualified to make the leak determination. The customer service people and installers were very nice and compassionate about what I was going thru. The woman in charge and making the decisions could care less about you after the sale. Shop around. This company is a nightmare if you have issues later.
Just started producing energy for about a month now so I'm very new to this.( hence the reason for 4 stars) During the whole process PE Solar kept me in the loop every step of the way. So far so good with the production according to the graph that was given on what my house should be producing.
The whole team was excellent I was very satisfied with everything
I had such a great experience with PE solar from the very start
I had such a great experience with PE solar from the very start. We realized early on that our monthly summer bills would be going up significantly due to now working from home all day long. We had an energy consultant come by our home to assess how many panels we would need and our estimated savings. From the first initial home analysis and design to our customer service experience and the installation we have no complaints! They were professional from start to finish and their cost reflected the quality and customer experience we received from this long standing company with an excellent reputation in the valley. We cannot wait to tell our friends about them and are happy to report great savings so far in our energy bill!Thank you so much PE solar for providing such a great experience from beginning to end.
We were very happy with the installation. The salesman we had lied to us. He just wanted to make a sale. He told us we were eligible for an $8700 tax credit. We told him several times that we had no taxes taken out of our income, but he assured us that we could get the tax credit. He even went as far as telling us any good accountant can come up with the money. Needless to say, we aren't able to receive it. The product itself is good. The sales tactics, however, are less than honest.
After 1 1/2 years with the system and still issues almost every month. Not making the production as promised. Not a happy customer here at all. Worst mistake going with this company. Would NEVER recommend them, in fact I would say RUN! Not saving any money monthly between the electric *** that still running $200 or more a month and the panel costs so not worth it. I would be COMPLETELY ok with panel removal and financial side taken care of like I never did any business with them would make me the happiest of all. NOT A GOOD COMPANY!
What a great experience! My sales representative was extremely helpful with helping me understand the process of how everything works. My project manager was fantastic. Always kept me informed on whats going on. The permitting process did take a little bit longer than expected, but thats not in their control. My installers were great! They were on time and guided me through the process. They made sure I understood how everything was going to be before they started working. After they were done, they asked if I had any questions to made sure I was satisfied with the work that was done. This is my first home Ive owned, and I couldnt be happier with my experience with PE Solar. A+ work all around
PE solar is a scam and are only out to get a dollar off of you. Myself and my wife signed up with PE solar under the advisement that we where getting a fair deal we had some financial affairs arise that made us have to cancel the solar project. My brother in law works for a solar company out in *** and has advised me that the 25% of the total cost of the system that they are trying to charge me which is around $15,000 is completely outrageous and that permits cost a few hundred dollars for each permit HOA APS City etc our sales rep has not been forth write and honest about this cancellation amount or even mention it when discussing the project the only work we have done is permits submitted we have had no labor done on the house electrical work or panel installation so where do you get the right to charge a family $15,000 to cancel I would not recommend this company to anyone and would advise if these people come knocking your door you dont do business with them total scam!
I cannot say enough good things about PE Solar
I cannot say enough good things about PE Solar. The entire process, from sales pitch, to contract, and installation has been smooth and without issues. They are extremely proficient in what they do and have gone above and beyond to explain every single step to me. I am one step away from turning on my panels and excited to finish the process. About a 60 day timeline so far with the Christmas holidays. Their expertise is apparent. Their #1 attribute is their people. I continue to be amazed on how courteous and upfront everyone is. Their sales staff was incredible. My program manager Diana is wonderful. The staff that came to my home were also courteous and given current times, very conscious about following CDC guidelines. Their customer service is above and beyond. I am very careful about who I do business with and who is give recommendations to. And PE Solar has done such a great job I want to share this recommendation.
My sister and I move to Saint Petersburg Florida in 2017 from Long Island. Now that we were in sunny Florida, solar energy was something we always wanted to incorporate into our new home. Lowering our carbon foot print and becoming more energy efficient is important to us. There were a couple of other companies we looked at before meeting with PE Solar. From my first introduction to PE solar, I was impressed that they were not aggressive, intrusive or a hard sell. When we met with Hassan to go over PE Solar's program, we were introduced to the steps to prepare our home for the maximum energy conservation, such as reinforcing the insulation in our attic and providing a new hybrid energy efficient water heater. Hassan also set us up with Mosaic to help us finance the cost of installing the panels, which is also transferable upon the sale of our house to the new owners. How great is that! All the work that needed to be done, from the engineers evaluating the feasibility of our roof supporting the number of needed panels, to the additional insulation and the installation of the water heater was done seamlessly, professionally, and in a timely fashion. Our questions, no matter how many times the same question was asked, were answered respectfully, and reassuringly. Ashley, our project manager, was always a text away and an amazing person to work with. Always returned our call's or texts. Always kept us apprised of what would be coming next. Ashley held our hand as she walked us through the process including activating the solar system to get us on the grid. I really only have positive things to say about our experience with PE Solar, and feel confident that any issues, problems or concerns that may arise in the future, will be handled in the most professional & expeditious manner. I would absolutely refer friends, family and neighbors to PE Solar for their transition to a greener future with solar energy. Laura Scheurer
Great company, great incentives, communication and customer service. The staff was very good about communicating through the whole process, the delays we had were because of the city, not the company! After the install I had not yet logged into the website to check usage, the company saw there was an error and sent a technician out to ensure everything was working properly! I am very happy we chose to go with PE Solar!
High pressure sales tactics. We moved into our first home and within weeks a representative from PE Solar knocked on our door to offer an opportunity to be a "model home" for the neighborhood. It was explained to us that the "it would not cost us anything to be a model home. In exchange for keeping a sign on the lawn for 90 days we wouldn't pay for any of the panels or expenses." The language was vague, and once pressed for more details the rep was unable to answer them and stated those details are only known by the next guy who comes into our home by appointment to explain the process. The vague language and lack of information made me nervous, so I researched the company and process to learn that those details are vague for the exact reason that they are not true. I cancelled that appointment and decided against solar with this company. The next day, the rep came back to the house to get more information despite my cancellation email being clear about my concerns and desire to not continue the process. Two days later, TWO MORE gentleman came back to my house to, again, pressure me into a sale. I made myself very clear that I was not interested and the pressure continued. I gave several reasons why I was concerned and not interested, and the sales rep continued to essentially make me feel like my own concerns, opinions, and plans for my own home are not valid. I told them we had only been in those home for a matter of weeks and we're not interested in even discussing such a purchase for another year, and their response multiple times was that they will come back to our home in 3-4 weeks to re-evaluate. I found this sales technique to be disrespectful, stressful, and dishonest. It felt like they exploited door-to-door sales by using a home address to show up against the homeowners' wishes. This company has not respected our boundaries on multiple occasions now, and has quite frankly made me feel uncomfortable in my own home. No one should feel as if they need to justify their own decisions during repeated ambush visits in their own home. This is not okay, and PE Solar should respect the right of potential customers to discontinue the process at any point they feel uncomfortable and for any reason.
I just flipped the switch to solar today! YAHOO! So, I can't really comment of how the system is functioning yet. But, I post about the process of going solar, and I was very impressed with PE Solar keeping me in the loop during the entire process. They answered all my questions and got me up and running very quickly. I'm very excited about doing my part to help Save the Planet!

BUYER BEWARE OF PE SOLAR After contacting this company on Sunday, August 30 to schedule an appointment to actually get all the information
BUYER BEWARE OF PE SOLAR After contacting this company on Sunday, August 30 to schedule an appointment to actually get all the information on their "12 free months of free solar promotion" since this looks too good to be true as they advertise that they are paying for 12 months of your solar loan as was told, I was given an appointment for Monday, August 31 and given a 12:00 PM appointment time, I got a text message, later on, to tell me that supposedly they are overbooked now and this promotion ends at the end of August and they can no longer provide me the information on it or their services. Seems this is what happens when you question their advertised promotion. I also posted my opinion based on my experience to make aware others on their Facebook page and they deleted all my comments and also blocked me from commenting further. This shows the type of company they are that do not want people to know about what they are doing and have things to hide. Very suspicious business practices and deceiving. This has been my opinion based on my experience with this company.
On our first visit with their marketing scout, he made it seem like the process was free
On our first visit with their marketing scout, he made it seem like the process was free. We made an appointment to speak with a sales person and he clarified that the installation of the panels was free, however you have to buy the panels. The cost of the panels can be quite expensive, but when you look at the overall savings, especially with the cost of electricity which will continue to rise, it works itself out. So we decided to go ahead with the panels. PE Solar has taken good care of us since then and assisted on the plans, permits, inspections, etc which can be quite daunting. The installation of the panels themselves was very quick, it's just the many inspections and various stages with the city and Duke Energy that have been longer than expected. This is the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. We were originally told 2-3 months, but possibly 4 months if the city got very behind. And we are now into our 5th month, but close to the end... so I'm excited to try our solar energy once we're officially up and running! And then we will be able to see the true savings that we are expecting to see.
We signed up for PE Solar after a salesman visited our home and gave us information on solar panels
We signed up for PE Solar after a salesman visited our home and gave us information on solar panels. Overall, the salesman was kind and polite, and we signed a contract there and then. However, after reading some critical reviews of the company, when we further contacted him to ask additional questions, the salesman was evasive and suddenly not as nice about our probing into what we had just done. Clearly some of this was our fault for allowing a sweet-talking salesman to convince us to sign a huge loan agreement without reading the fine print or having any time to review the actual offer being made. Afterwards, we realized that the "sweet deal" we got was actually not as sweet as we thought, and that other solar companies offered better prices and services. We did have some workers redo the insulation in our attic, and I will say that the workers were punctual and polite so no complaints there. Also, when we decided to rescind the contract in order to seek out some more reputable companies, customer service was helpful and courteous. Overall, I can't say the company is shady or anything, but I would encourage any potential buyers to do your research before agreeing to anything.
To this point, our experience with PE Solar has been fantastic throughout the entire process
To this point, our experience with PE Solar has been fantastic throughout the entire process. Initial contact with the Sales Rep (Wesley) set a good tone, as he did a thorough job of explaining the process and outlining the expectations. We had several questions I had written down in advance and he proactively answered each one of them through his presentation. An important point is that there was no pressure put on and in fact they had to take some time factoring in certain variables to ensure that this investment made sense. From there, our Project Manager (Kaci) was outstanding in keeping us informed on what to expect and taking the time to check in with on a set frequency through the various stages of the process. Any time I reached out with questions she responded quickly and was always pleasant to work with. The installation (James) was straightforward and the crew did a good job keeping me informed while they were on site and make sure everything was picked up when they were completed. It's easy to complain when things don't go right but we don't often stop to give credit where credit it due. This project was a major investment for us and I appreciate the fact that PE Solar made it a positive experience.
BUYER BEWARE!
BUYER BEWARE! I don’t even know where to start but let’s just say my sister and I both may have to get a lawyer to fight this company. My sister recommended this company to us and now we’re both regretting it. From not producing the energy promised/money saved to forgetting to connect panels to a horrible loan company to our service suddenly stop working one day only to find out that we have an “old model inverter” which they never told us about and we’ve only had this system for two years! When they said they can replace it they couldn’t get someone out to do it for “one or two weeks” which is ridiculous when you’re paying for solar and then don’t have any for one or two weeks! We also recommended this company to a neighbor that had an even WORSE experience (including multiple failed inspections) and we’re embarrassed that we recommended this company. I can tell you we will NEVER recommend this company to anyone ever again. Our neighbors have Tesla and other companies and have never experienced the issues that we or my sister or the neighbors we referred to this company have had. We feel like we’re in a bad marriage now that we can’t get out of but hopefully our lawyers will help settle some of this. All we can do now is warn anyone considering using this company. IT’S NOT WORTH IT!
We had a unique
We had a unique ... unsettling experience with P.E. As you have read other reviews, we had a similar experience of what I would call "bait and switch"... the "bait" is lower your carbon foot print buy decreasing output-they state you get a new boiler, smart thermostat, and insulations for "free" if you give a positive review (thus you will need to ask of all these reviews that are good which of them were authentically positive or was it bought at a price?). Not ONCE did the initial person mention that the lowering of the carbon foot print implied you would also have to buy the solar system of panels. The the "marketing" person came ... he said .. I am not a sales person but what is the difference between sales and marketing person. He goes through this process of "analyzing" our current situation then tells us we are the ones who would fit their program (as if we are special). Over and over the "marketing" person said ... you understand right (which we didn't). We asked many questions ... obviously too many questions and then check this ComplaintsBoard.com sight to see others had the same type of experience. Again, I wonder ... how many of those 5 stars are authentic, not purchased 5 stars. You do your research and see what you find. I still want to do solar panels but I don't want a hard sales nor dishonest salesman

If I could give zero stars it would be more accurate!
If I could give zero stars it would be more accurate! We were planning on getting solar at some point but when my nephew called to ask if he could come over and give a presentation for PE Solar we agreed. The very first question we had was about pigeons roosting under the panels. Anthony, my nephews co-worker, called his boss to ask about it. He stated that the panels are very low profile and don't allow for pigeons to roost. We had an extensive conversation about this issue. After all questions were answered we agreed to purchase this solar package. After various issues related to the fact that they mostly deal with APS and since we are SRP the specs are different. This called for a few delays because they kept providing the APS specs to our project. After all those issues we finally got up and running. A couple of months later we check and sure enough...2 pigeon nests with eggs! I sent an email to the last contact I was given inquiring about the pigeon issue. This rep called me and said that she would transfer me to her boss, Kyle. This is where bad went to worse! He said that IF we had talked to the sales rep about the pigeons it would be in the contract and since it isn't...(apparently we are lying!) I stated that there were 4 people at that meeting and all 4 agreed that this was discussed in detail. He said that he would like to come to a resolution in both of our interests. He stated that he would find a price for the pigeon barrier and we could pay for it! Mind you, we just paid cash for this system and this is the response. I asked for the next in commands contact info and was told by Kyle that I would not get in contact with anyone above him. I asked if he was the owner and he said "No, but I'm as high as you'll get!" I asked how this solution was in both of best interest and he never responded. My biggest issue is that if we are having this kind of problem and they are this bad at dealing with it, what's going to happen if we have any other issues? My husband contacted one of the owners by email and got no response. Customer service is lacking here and I am very sorry we did business with them. If I could get my money back and use someone else, we would in a heartbeat! I am not at all comfortable bringing any issues to them after this treatment! We just got the system up in late January and this is how they treat you! We will take care of the barrier ourselves but this gives us a good idea of what kind of company we are dealing with! Once they ave your $$ they could care less about you!
PE Solar does not provide full disclosure
PE Solar does not provide full disclosure. Company promised the installation of the panels are free but they are not. They are paid with a promise and assurance of a tax return of $16,000.00 that you do not get. Instead you get a tax credit that applies to future tax returns. Therefore, since you never paid the instillation cost it is added to your loan increasing your monthly loan. They also advise that do not put a lean on your home, in which they don't because they are not the ones that give you the loan! They just provide the credit but they are fully aware that the loan provider they work with do put a lean on your home. They are very aware of the semantics and the wording they use to sell you something or even promise you something they cannot be held against them. What you need to know. 1. Panels are only an energy supplement. Not an energy source 2. Panels will not create energy if grid is down. 3. Panels do not store energy at all. 4. You are not getting anything free, They are just adding down payments, instillation fees and charges to the loan. (like adding your closing cost to your mortgage, or having a 30year with a final balloon payment) 5. Your bill will not decrees. Since the panels are not a source of energy and a supplement as your consumption of energy increase so will your electric bill. 7. They target people with high electric bills because it easier to show a lower bill value. Example: $300 electric bill, they show you a loan of $150. You think your monthly electric will be a little over $150 with the electric company charge. The truth is the $150 is dependent on the down payment you are required to pay-off with your "tax return" and when it is not pay your bill is now close to $300 not including usage charges from the electric company since the panels are not producers so anything over the wattage they produce is charged by the electric company. So you can use extra wattage during summers to cool your home or winters to heat your home. Increasing your regular $300 a month bill to what can accumulate to at least $100 more so now your monthly bill seasonally can be an overall $400 a month or more. This is not to say that the company and its workers are not polite, courteous and even respond to issues quickly but no they do not explain things thoroughly and use play on words to convince you this is the best thing you can do for your home. If it was more people would have solar panels, there is a reason they don't they are supper expensive and the benefits do not out way the expense. PE solar just found a way to sell it to customer and convince customer of savings that are never met. I am sharing this because I thought I did my research on Solar systems, which highlight the benefits and environmental wins but never cover the financial impact on the customer. Even the ComplaintsBoard.com gives them an A but because they do have good service and because they are not the ones that carry your loan. They found a loophole and are exploiting it. I just wish I knew then what I know now. I am currently looking for ways to re-cope my funds with a lawyer and think this should be a class action law sue against all solar companies since I am pretty sure that if one company practices these tactics they are all likely to do the same but I will research knowing what I know now as I cannot really talk about any other company with out knowing for sure. But keep these things in mind before you go with any company.
