Long time customer. Received letter requiring inspection of home. Inspector showed up and said everything looked great, no issues. A week later received letter stating I have to replace both of my roofs. I have a tile roof and flat roof on the addition. They said they need this done in 30 days. First of all I have no active leaks or damaged tiles or ceiling stains. Yes the roof is 20 years old but tile roofs last for a long time. I have a roofer and he said no active leaks and my roof still has life. How can an insurance company after many years of coverage all of a sudden come out and mandate I get a new roof just based on age? To top it of I don't even have hurricane coverage ,just fire and liability. Will a new roof help the fire. Maybe they just rather see a new roof go up in flames. How stupid is that?

PTI or "Peoples Trust Insurance" is anything but a trustworthy homeowners insurance company. I had some roof damage from a storm that hit back in December (Outside of hurricane season)!

I called People's Trust to make a claim, and had to go through their extensive and almost criminal-like line of questioning with the Insurance adjuster.

Then after the adjuster finished taking my statement, he proceeds to tell me that they will send out their roofing inspector and afterwards they will choose who repairs my roof!

I don't mind that they send out a roof inspector, but to select a roof repair person for me, without my approval? Absolutely not! PTI will likely go the cheap route and pick the least expensive, lowest quality roof repair company out there. Oh, and then they wanted to charge me $8000.00 as my deductible. I was under the impression that my $8000.00 deductible was for hurricane season, not for damage occurring outside of hurricane season.

I thus quickly cancelled the claim with them.

Later I get a letter from them saying that they are dropping me at the end of the year because they cannot determine the age of the roof.

Little do they know (until now) that I am about to replace my entire roof with a full metal roof from a very reputable roofing company at my own expense. Oh, and PTI can forget about any gratitude from me, as I am also planning to switch providers at the end of the year!

DO NOT TRUST "PEOPLES TRUST INSURANCE"! They treat you like a criminal with their line of questioning when you attempt to file a claim! THEY DO NOT DESERVE THE TRUST OF THE PEOPLE they serve!

I never had a claim on my homeowners policy, but it kept going up every year. So I checked with People's Trust Insurance for a quote and found out I could get the same coverage for less. All I had to do was to schedule an inspection. I even paid in full for a year, which reduced my mortgage payment.

My agent did well. She was knowledgeable and friendly. The communication between us was very slow. It was a long wait to hear back from her after a question or to clarify a statement. I was writing a policy in March which was a difficult time due to the virus and many closures and reduced staff probably contributed to the delay in communication. All in all, it was a good experience.

Great product at a great rate. I came from Nationwide to the Citizens game after Nationwide backed out of Florida then placed with another carrier by Citizens. I have never had a claim in the 25 years I have had HO coverage. Thank you for the ease of placement of the business and great customer service experience. Completely satisfied with People's Trust Insurance Company. In my research for an insurance company, I was hesitant about the name of it, thinking you just do not trust anyone... But this company meets the expectations of it's name. Customer service is excellent, reasonable rates! I am extremely satisfied with this company and definitely planning to keep them.

I never had a claim on my homeowners policy, but it kept going up every year. So I checked with People's Trust Insurance for a quote and found out I could get the same coverage for less. All I had to do was to schedule an inspection. I even paid in full for a year, which reduced my mortgage payment.

People's Trust Insurance Company I have been with People's Trust for several years and I am very happy with their services

I have been with People's Trust for several years and I am very happy with their services. The premiums are lower than what most other insurers offer due to PT's preferred contractor model. I support this approach wholeheartedly and in fact I think this should be the model for other insurers as well. Too many independent contractors make unnecessary repairs or charge for them and this raises the premium for everyone.

Trust Ins. Committed to me, three and a half ago with Hurricane Katrina and they are making fun of me and my lawyer because they have not yet paid me a penny of the insurance that I paid them to protect my property, I followed all the rules that That Co has in the police and reported that I had an emergency in my house because my house was flooding and that Co. never responded to my emergency call, at least they came to put the blue tent on the roof of my house, and I had to call a Co to put the blue tent on the roof of my house and avoid further damage, I ask you please to intervene to help me solve this problem and put this Co.
on the blacklist who like to receive money but want to pay when they are obliged to do so. atte ***.

Sales agent did not disclose that premiums are subject to revision. Sales agent did not request documentation before binding policy. Letter received. Sales agent did not disclose that premiums are subject to revision. Sales agent did not request documentation before binding policy. Letter received with language that "Underwriting Department to determine eligibility for continued policy coverage or if applicable, removal of credits that were previously applied to your premium". This appears to be symptomatic of a bait and switch. Not cool. Have requested cancellation and full refund. Policy is not yet in effect. Also requested cancellation of inspection. Would like People's Trust to explain this misleading practice. The only requirement communicated to confirm premium by sales agent was the home inspection.

People's Trust Insurance Company People Insurance inspector stated i have a poor roof and a serious water leak which was not true

People Insurance inspector stated i have a poor roof and a serious water leak which was not true. Can't find insurance due to the misinformation I started a policy with People's 05/12. A inspector was sent to the property to inspect my home. Later i found out that my insurance was being canceled due to the inspector stating i had a poor roof and a serious leak. So i call customer service to find out what was the issue because my roof is fine and i had no leaks. It was told to me, the inspector noticed my roof once had a satellite dish on the side of the roof which now removed, so he noted it as a poor roof. About the serious leak part. I took the bottom of one of bathroom sinks apart so i could clean it, my daughter had hair in there clogged. I took the hair out but i forgot how to put it back together so i had wait until my husband fix it and also i called the City of Bartow checking to see if i had any serious leaks. I was told there's no leaks and i was using a normal consumption. Now it's hard for me to find insurance due them saying i had a poor roof, serious leaks and canceled me.

People's Trust Insurance Company my policy is to be renewed on 3/16

my policy is to be renewed on 3/16. I have an open claim from Hurricane Irma that was just opened in Feb. It is in inspection review. I want to drop the "preferred contractor endorsement"for the coming year. It has been in place since the policy inception, under the pretense of Rapid Response Team. I am given a credit on my policy for having this, as it is listed under optional coverages and adjustments. I also received a refridgerator magnet stating this coverage must be selected. It is also called "the Better Way approach. I have spoken with a supervisor who has informed me underwriting will not remove this option due to the fact there is an open claim. Again, this claim is from 2017 damage. This company is misleading customers into believing the Rapid Response Team is for emergencies, when in fact, it is that Only their company owned construction team will be permitted to make repairs. My policy number is PFLXXXXXX. I have to continue to contact the company as the supervisor Katisha, who assured me a call back within hours, never called. Now I am waiting on another supervisor. With an open claim, I am unable to purchace insurance from another company until this is settled, and I want to be assured in the intrim, if my home suffers damage from any other cause in the future, I will have the option without legal councel, to hire whom I feel will do the best job. Again, I have to believe I am not the only person being scammed by this coverage

People's Trust Insurance Company Bait and switch attempt

Bait and switch attempt. I gave full information and details while purchasing a policy only to get a notice for an additional 449.00 due 3 moths later I purchased a policy thru People's Trust Insurance company on 5/01 and gave them EXACT and ACCURATE information. On July 18th (2 and a half months later) I received a notice for an additional premium due of 449.00. I spoke to them on July 20th and 21st about this. The additional premium is being levied due to the original salesperson changing the information contained in my wind mitigation report. My original phone call with Peoples Trust is recorded and is verifiable that the salesperson overrode what the wind mitigation report detailed resulting in a lower premium that what was required/real. This is clearly an attempt to "advertise" a lower premium and return months later with a demand for addition money. I have many more details and request that someone look into this sales practice immediately. Now People Trust is threatening to cancel the policy and they claim to be unable to change the policy until next year. I have reached out and spoken to the salesperson and his supervisor along with customer service reps. Several times since Monday July 20th with no response. Is this the kind of response (none,delayed) that policyholders will get in a time of need. Please investigate.supervisors extension is 2950. Please help or guide me to where I can get help with this matter. It is clearly a bait and switch and that is illegal.

People's Trust Insurance Company requested an insurance quote in Mar and cancelled the policy by Apr but then billed my escrow which they paid and does not want to refund me in

Back in March 4, I was shopping for a home insurance quote and People's Trust was one of the insurance company that I called and requested a quote. I spoke to Kari Klejnot and told her what I need and our closing date on the house is April 1. She provided me a quote and at the same time did credit check on me. They requested home inspection report which I provided to all the companies I called for quote. Before the closing date, I suddenly got letters in the mail with the declaration pages and telling us to pay the amount. I called Kari and told her that we chose a different company and need to make sure that the policy they put together which I didn't give approval is cancelled. She said she will send me a cancellation form over email which I did not get. I emailed Kari again on April 4 advising her that I have not received any cancellation documents from her and I did not get a response from her. I called the company again to follow up to make sure that the policy was cancelled. This time, I spoke to Francita Martin who help me get the cancellation documents sent to me via Docusign which I signed right away while we were on the phone on April 8. I asked her to make sure that there will be no charge since I advised them we are not going with them before the policy starts and she confirmed to me over the phone that there will not be any charge. Since I did my due diligence to cancel the policy before the effective date of the policy, then it is cancelled. Now it makes sense to me on why I was getting phone calls and emails saying that I need to schedule a home insurance inspection because they have not submitted my cancellation in their system after I have cancelled it. Since they were not getting the payment from me, they billed my Escrow account which my Escrow company paid because they did not know it was cancelled from the beginning. So in June, my Escrow company paid them for the full policy of $1,727.00 and then told them that is was cancelled because a home insurance inspection was not done so they cancelled the policy. July 9, they refunded me $1,253.00. Called them and asked why the refund was not for the full amount? They advise because I did not called them before the effective policy date so they are charging me for 3 months. I told them that I did called before the effective policy date to cancel it and provided them the cancellation document I signed via Docusign with Francita. With that, instead of refunding me an additional $474.00, they only send $298.00 on July 20. I have been on emailing back and forth with David Frost for a month now trying to get the additional $176.00 they owe me. Today, August 17, they advise that they will not issue the $176.00 balance they owe me because they already sent me 2 checks. What kind of response is that. I asked to speak to a manager and he has refused to give me their manager's information.

Company refuses to House my family during mold mitigation and is taking items out of my home without my consent. They have also broken things. On 7/15 I returned to my home after being gone for two weeks. Upon my arrival I discovered a flooded master bedroom and bathroom covered in black mold and mildew. I filed a claim with my insurance on 7/16. They refused to place my family in emergency housing and stated they would send a rapid response team to dry out the water. On that day 7/16 I was contacted by Michael Waters and was informed that he would send out a team as soon as possible. I informed him there was standing water and black mold. He told me to gather my personal belongings and leave the home as we could not stay there in it's current state. On 7/17 the rapid response team put out a lockbox on my door and had my friend sign for their services without discussing any of it with me. I was not able to reach our claims adjuster Joy until 7/23 by phone or email. She told me that because my home was habitable, there would be no coverage for a hotel or temporary housing. She also stated that even though the mold report indicated it was uninhabitable the insurance would not cover it and I could decide for myself if I wanted to get temporary housing and submit it to the to POSSIBLY approve. I then spoke with her manager, whom stated according to the mold report my home was not inhabitable, but they could not cover temporary housing until they determined coverage. I explained I cannot continue to couch surf with 3 children, two dogs a cat and a husband on deployment. She stated I would have an update by Friday. There insurance adjuster was at my home on 07/22 and told me her report would be turned in by the end of the business day. Not only has my family not been placed on housing. The rapid response team has started repairs without knowing where the leak is detected, was on camera admitting no leak was found, was also on camera admitting that there was an active leak when the water was turned back on and to go ahead with the repair no one would notice. One member of the team admitted he didn't feel like getting the right supplies to use during mitigation and is on camera saying "*** it" then proceeding to use the wrong material after a team member even offered to get the right supplies. Beyond this extreme level of unprofessionalism, a team member was also on camera breaking a water line at my home and had a full conversation with his boss about turning the water off so know one would know. I did not give permission for any items to be removed from the home and you can visually watch workers carrying items out, I have not received any pictures of the items or the room per my request when the claim was filed. Subsequently the team placed all of the water logged items covered in mold in garbage bags and left them on top of my children's foam mattresses and claim that there is no way it could damage the mattress because they tie the bags. Garbages bags still release mold spores so now everything in my children's room has been exposed to mold. I asked the contractor Michael Waters to test my whole home for mold and they only tested three rooms. This is what Joy sent to me ALE ADVANCES: ALE is for incurred expenses only. In the event the loss involves Coverage C, and advance can be made with management approval under this policy coverage for ALE. This advance will be reconciled during the settlement of the loss. MEALS & GROCERIES: We will pay the difference in costs between the normal living expenses for meals and the reasonable and necessary increase they incur as a result of your home being uninhabitable. Save actual receipts; which should include; the expense incurred, the date and the number of people served. HOTEL/HOUSING: The insured's policy covers temporary quarters which reflect their normal standard of living for the length of time estimated to repair the damage to the home.
