Hi
I just want to know if anyone else has bought furniture or goods of perfect homes. Me and my husband bought two three seater setees from them last year. I was so pleased to be able to get some new furniture i'm a fraid i didn't take much notice of the high interest. I'm now stuck with another three years of payments that i can hardly afford as now my circumstances have changed and i have lost some income. Just recently i could'nt afford to pay one week and they charged me £3. 00 on top of my payment. I have heard as well if you have difficulty paying there is no help with reduced payments and they even come and remove your goods in some cases. I feel like i've got stuck with loan sharks but they are doing it within the law. Their interest is clossal i could have got a loan instead and payed less interest. I feel like they are taking advantage of people who are on low income and can't afford to pay cash for good or have a low credit scoring. I just want people to be aware that they charged more than treble the price the goods are worth surely they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this. What do other people think about this?

I didn't as for a personal attack yes I know I've been stupid. All I'm asking if anyone else has had dealings with these people and what their experiences have been.

don't buy things you can't afford. if you're going to anyway, read what you're agreeing to. it isn't perfect homes fault you didn't bother to read the terms.

nothing personal in my previous comment. there probably are people in a similar situation, however like i said perfect hoomes told you what the interest would be and what would happen if you didn't make payments before you made the purchase. the company haven't done anything wrong or deceitful.

To cancel this you have to call [protected] and its option 7. They will try to talk you into keeping it, but they cancelled and refunded my money. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I got signed on to this by ordering from J.C. Penney. It was a fast click this and get 10.00 off this order. They get my info from JC. It says you have thirty days to cancel it if you choose to do so but guess What? They never contact you in any way so until the bill comes there is no way to cancel because you dont know what it is! Penney Co says they don't know anything about it!

I have been taken for six months at $9.95 but did not take notice until today. My wife thought I purchased an item and just happened to ask me about it. It's a disgrace that J.C.Penny allows this company to continue to scam the customers in this manner. J.C.Penny has lost this customer for good, and I urge others that have been scammed to do the same.

I'm a senior in high school and i work at McDonalds. My paychecks are barley enough to fill my gas tank and I get jipped $9.95 EVERY month from this! That is awful! I can't believe JCP allows this! You say they didn't know anything about it..but they should now! I'm so upset about this! I also did it with that "10 dollars off this order" thing like..back in July! Oh my gosh.
This is awful and I am calling that 888 # first thing.
Thanks for the number

I encourage everyone to do the same.

I found today the same thing. My account was charged by 9.95 $ since three months and I didn't know what it is this thing named SB perfect home select as I was not enrolled in any programs.
I will complain to Bank of America about it and will try to call them to take my money back.

Hey folks, don't take this lying down. My wife and I just found the same thing on our account. As embarrassed as we are for not catching it sooner we are still going on facebook and telling everyone we know to stop trading at JCPenney. We will use the power of social media to put a stop to this thievery. I suggest you all do the same.

I have been taken for six months! I have called [protected] and got the service stopped. They tried to talk me into keeping it but eventually agreed. They only refunded the last two months and said I had every opportunity to cancel from day one. I am VERY disappointed in JC Penny... I don't remember ever clicking to save $10! I never do that. The lady on the phone claims that I verified by giving my email address... I must have thought I was creating an account with JC Penny because it was my first order... funny thing is, I ended up canceling that order and never even received anything from them! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM JC PENNY AGAIN!

I don't shop at JC Penny, but bought something online in October of last year. I saw the charges on the card, but thought I could explain the charges as something else. They're still showing up. I'm disputing the charge on my credit card and will call the number above. Thanks for the tip. I don't know that I would have figured it out otherwise.

I also was charged 9.95 from "Perfect Home Select" for something I did not order. I called the number on my statement [protected]) & was told I signed up for this scam when I ordered something from them over a year ago. I called the local store - the one that "Perfect Home Select" told me they got my email address & CC number from, and the Manager told me she has never heard of them.

I have been getting phone calls from "Perfect Home Select" & always told them I was not interested in what they were selling, yet I still got charged.

I urge everyone to call JC Penny's Corporate office at [protected] and file a complaint. And BTW, I will never shop at JC Penny's again and will be letting them know exactly how I feel about this.

Just found these same charges on my husband's credit card! We used this card to purchase blinds from JC Penny's online...back in August of 2010, ... and began being charged from SB Perfect Home Select the next month! That's 12 months of $9.95 that has been stolen from us! I am fuming!

If you placed an order with JC Penney's via the internet, a pop up came up asking if you wanted to save $10 on your order. Once you cliked on it, you had to put your email address in the area provided and then you were awarded the $10 discount. Supposedly, you then received a packet from Perfect Home Select and a phone number to cancel. Guess what, if you didn't cancel, $9.95 would be taken out every month. JC Penney's will not do anything about it. You need to call Perfect Home Select @ [protected]. If you call to request a refund, they will only refund you 4 months of payments and will cancel your "membership". If you want to fight it, they will pull records to prove that you did click on it. If they find out you did..you get nothing.

i agree with all complaints about perfect homes it is a company that thrives on the lest fortunate. We purchased a 3 and 2 seater sofa from them almost 2 years ago. I have looked after both but the 2 seater started peeling its leather i was told by the manager that it was obviously a fault in the leather and due to me having the cover plus on it it would be repaired. 4 weeks later they turn up whilst i am at hospital and replace it with one that is at least 2 years older than my own and is visibly in much worst condition and tell me that is all they can do. I am not happy with this and am seeking legal advice. To anyone out there try and do your best to not shop from these vultures they are a disgrace.

I got the same thing. Since I did autopay on everything, so I didn't notice it until 1-2 years of being charging. Now I don't remember what I did or my husband did. I never accepted anything free for certain time-frame, since I know I will forget to cancel. So I don't think I ever click anything. Even if I clicked something, it doesn't look like a trap. It's so terrible. I hope I will get my money back. Thanks for providing the phone number.

I have just out of curiosity, checked the price of an indesit cooker from perfect home, and the tesco price ..nearly 700 pounds difference the company are in a similar category as pay day loans, buy at your peril, I understand that these companies rely on poor or out of work people to boost their sales revenues, as these companies buy items at a much lower cost than advertised already, so their happy to get the first 199.99 to pay for what will eventually cost 1000.00 and they have the profit already...

I have brought a bed and mattress in November by January mattress was no good .. springs were popping out .. I complained and I am still wanting on the mattress .. its now July .. complete waist of space .. they are still charging me for mattress. .. I also have a yellow account with perfect home .. went in today to clear out my yellow savings account and they said it was empty and I put in a extra 15 pound a week I should have had at least 40 pound saved .. apparently they have used my money to pay my account ... I am so angry with the company and I wouldn't recommend any one to use them

We are new customers of PH...We ordered a washing machine an a gas cooker which worked out at £27.48.It was ordered on 01/08//13 an we made our first payment on this date...the items were delivered on 09/08/13 (8 days later)..The same evening we had a missed call from the store...then again today so i rang back to see what they wanted ..for them to tell me our account was 1 week in arrears!..i explained we made our first payment in the store and had only just received the goods!..how is it fair that someone is expected to pay for something they didnt have? and now im being charged late fees..i was told a member of the arrears team should of explained about payments which they didnt so he has said he will investigate that ... when i refused to accept our account was in arrears he said they will send someone out to collect the goods ...i told him there is no way on earth that they will get into my property and that if they wanted them back they will have to obtain a court order he just laughed and said they will get the police to which i replied "go ahead"...i am going to CAB in the morning but wanted to know if anyone else has ha the same problem?

i'm also having problems with perfect homes i had settee 2 1/2 years ago well into the 2 yrs it started ripping so we had complained as it was covered with insurance. I then spoke to the manager of the store, he said i could pick a brand new sofa and they take old one, (which i did) and i just carry on payments till the 3 years is up which is the 15th september (few more days). I then phoned the store last week and asked them out of query how long i had left and guess what they saying i only had it april so i got another 3 years to pay on new one. i'm seeking advice as i dont think this is correct. Manager phoned today and said he couldnt do nothing as old manager has left and he has no proof of anyone saying it the best he could do was pay half of the bill, which i then have to pay the other half. What about all the money i paid on my old settee?

hi thanks for all your letters. i have been with perfect homes for over 3 years, mever missed a payment and was never late. i paid 110.00 per week. 3 months ago i had to clim statutory sick pay due to having an op on my knee, i foned ph and explained my situation and would they put my account on hold for a few weeks until i get back into work as im really struggling as my priority is to pay my mortgage, i was told they can do no such thing, they were constantly foning me early and late at night. i contacted them again and offered them 40.00 a week to try to prove to them im not ripping you off im just asking for a little help. i couldnt believe it they said we will be out to collect our goods. they have been out knocking my window and door, i have a 9 year old daughter that is frightened by this. im scared to open my curtains. im living and tiptoeing in my own house, this is not right. im scared to come home after school incase they are waiting for me. i have sought advice and they will be recieving a letter tomorrow. i will let you know how i get on, but anyone thinking of going there take my advice and stay away. they are bullys!

hi lizzybaby, I worked at perfect home for 3 years so im sure I can help you... if your account is in arrears you need to clear ONLY the arrears to put your account on a freeze, for example if you pay 10.00 per week, with 1 item, and you have missed 3 weeks, to bring the account fully up to date it will be 43.50. which is the 3 weeks you have missed, the late fee, and the week that is owing. so to clear the arrears you will need to pay a minimum of 33.50. you MUST clear the arrears in order for the store to help you, it is nothing personal, just the way we have to do things. also provide documentation stating the change in circumstances. they cannot then refuse to freeze your account. if they still will not help then contact head office. out of curiousity, which store are you eith

I have been a customer for about 5 years. I have missed say four payments in all that time. I missed one on Saturday and a lady called Julie rang me from the Bootle Branch in Liverpool. She gave me a load of abuse down the phone. I firstly hung up on her because I was not listening to her abuse down the phone. She rang back and I answered she said that I had said on Sunday (when they are not even open) that I had said that I would pay the £45 today which is Monday. I said I hadn't after that I told her that I would go into the store on Tuesday to pay it as there had been a mix up with my benefits. She said that I had better not ever put the phone down on her again. She then said that I had to pay it by 12.00 tomorrow, I rang customer services to complain about her and I got the impression . They didn't want to know, I understand that they are a business but they need to get staff or should I say managers who speak to people in a proper and civil manner, I will never get anything from them again. I have had two computers of them the first one blew up and they said it was new. There was a cash convertors sticker on it at the back. When I took it back they denied it. I threatened to take it to a solicitor and they gave me another new and in two weeks the motherboard and the memory card went on it. The other pc has spent more time in Dell than I have used it. I will NEVER shop there again. There managers attitude towards customers STINKS.

I brought a sofa from perfect homes it was the biggest mistake I ever made. I would advise anyone thinking of getting anything from there not too.
They are not understanding at all. I was in hospital so got behind with only 1 payment and got hounded every hour of everyday even when I told them I'm in hospital. They even came to my house as I found out when I returned home from hospital there was several cards on the floor. They prey on the less fortunate I would honestly advise people to either ask family for help, save up or buy 2nd hand !
They advertise low repayments then when your signing the agreement they tell you all the rest they are whacking on. And most people still sign because of how desperate they are.

I will never get anything off that company EVER! Again, I never missed any payments but the 1 day I couldn't get in to pay they was on the phone demanding my bank details so they could take the money out that way. When I refused they turned into bullies and told me they CAN'T and WON'T let me get in arrears, I explained I would be in that week to pay but that wasn't good enough, so being abit upset and angry that I was spoken to like I was a child I went to pay my bill of £2.17 pence!. In the shop it just got worse, they made me feel awfull and just turned into bullies yet again. I cancelled my contract and demanded they come and collect there products there and then! I do not recommend any1 gets from this shop as they are just all jobsworth that think they can pray on innocent people

My ex-partner purchased an item from Perfect Home. He was with them for over a year and a half before he stopped making payment due to his financial downfall and job loss. They then started ringing me, I continued making payments. Due to a domestic issue we separated. Now Perfecthome keep ringing and they have gone to his mothers!I With the persistent phone calls, which I refused to answer I finally rang them. They said they have no choice my manager will be bringing the police to collect the goods, as it belongs to them! He doesn't live there nor is the good (tv)!I just said thats fine dear. I am not going to be bullied, I have paid well over a grand and a half and it is not even in my name. I am certain in the contract if a certain amount has been paid off they will consider that the customer can keep the goods etc. Has anyone had perfecthome come with the police regarding their overdue account and wanting goods back?

HI,
Perfect home has just been to my house, they where there for 5 minutes and manged to, in that time, Swear at my father and my brother in front of me, bearing in mind im only 13 years old. Humiliate me by shouting that my father should "make sure he and my brother can at least pay his own bills" (in front of neighbors and passers by). Call my father some very inappropriate names which are to 'colorful' for me to state and ask questions that they had no right to bee asking or any need of the answers, personal issues that are in fact, none of there business. I wouldn't want to be in the company or be in any relation to workers or the whole business of perfect homes and i am not only very displeased with there attitude and lack of respect but i am disgusted that they couldn't control them selves even in the presents of a minor!
