Ordered a change of broadband and phone provider from Now to POP Telecom, for change over on 06/02/24. Pop decided they would bring the date forward to17/01/24 which cost me a months rental for exiting my Now account early !
Order was set on the1/1/24 for connection on the 17/1/24, …thus , my “cooling off” 14 days were over even before the debacle that was to follow
The change to pop failed on 17/1/24 and after two days of engineer visits they still could not get me connected, even though for nearly twenty years with seven different service providers I have never had a problem. The broadband and phone worked perfect until pop took over the service. 22 days on and I’m still without either broadband or phone. Open reach have told me that pop did not activate the changeover correctly and there’s no more they can do .
I’ve called pop today and said I want to cancel the order…. And they said my cooling off period was finished even before the service was due to go live and they are going to charge me £800 for termination from a service I have never had . They took my money and gave me nothing but three weeks of hell, …they are the most disgraceful business I have ever had the misfortune to encounter and it looks like it’s now going to cost me thousands of pounds in legal costs to challenge them in the courts !
Claimed loss: Potentially thousands of pounds , at best hundreds of pounds !
Desired outcome: I want my contract nullified without charge
