If you happen to receive a gift card or buy one they will cancel or transactions and deceive consumers. Do not purchase any gift card from this company. File a complaint with the agency overseeing their operations. Prepaidgiftbalance is SCAM/FRAUDULENT COMPANY. This is the website for the fraudulent company-http://www.fsvps.com

I agree www.prepaidgiftbalance.com is a fraudulent company. There are thousands of complaints for this fraudulent business. Beware and stay away most importantly .

PrepaidGiftBalance.com FRAUD/ SCAM that is what this company is know for. There is currently a warning for this company. Consumers allege that once a gift card is purchased, or received as a gift, they are unable to use the card. The card is rejected or declined. Consumers allege they are not provided refunds and that customer service issues are not resolved. Customer service is horrible at this place. This fraudlent and illegal business should be avoided.

I have not had any problems with this company. I buy the cards at the grocery store, and use it for online purchases.

Is prepaidgiftbalance.com the same as PrepaidGiftBalance.com? In July 2022, I purchased a MasterCard debit card. I went to prepaidgiftbalance.com (listed on the card) to register my card and was unable to to do so; I tried multiple times. I also called the number several times on the website and after one ring, it disconnected. I searched online and made at least seven calls to different entities to resolve the issue, but could not. I set it aside, partly relegated myself to the loss, but thought to try again later.

Bottom line, two months later, I called Kroger from where I purchased the card and they said that everything on their end was fine and to call MasterCard. Instead of calling the customer service number on the card or website, I called MasterCard International whose name is listed on the back of the card [[protected]] and they gave me a number for the bank also listed on the back, U.S. Bank National Association. The representative at U.S. Bank registered my card and I was able to use it to make online purchases with no trouble at all. I told her about my being unable to register the card on the website and the phone number failure. She made a note of it so that it would be resolved. The number for U.S. Bank to register your MasterCard is [protected]. Hope this helps.

Just tried calling and activating or resgistering the card after several attempts of entering the 16 digit number on their website. Bottom line this company smells and talks very scammy! Oh yea it 2022 and you will need to fax in a copy of the receipt and your drivers license to make sure that it is registered to the correct person. The word needs to get out to AVOID these tell everyone you know. I am almost tempted to act out in civil disobedience and throw any cards I see like this in stores in the trash. These people are organized fraudsters probably backed by some mafia.

I've had the same issue, card keeps being declined. I spoke with an agent from the website. She took my info and said to wait a few hours for the problem to be resolved, then try the card, Nope!

So now, after taking the aforementioned advice to contact US Bank National Assoc., I'm waiting for their response. Fingers crossed!

Same story here, I received a gift card from a school raffle. Went to use the card and it kept getting declined. Then called their number at [protected] and talk with a rep there and they stated they need to issue a new card so they took my name and address and sent out the new card. I received the card today, called the same number again, and this time they said they could not activate without proper paper work ... seriously? For a gift card? They wanted me to send my Social Security number, Date of Birth and Government ID like a drivers license. I told the operator, that's not going to happen and hung up.

What I would like to know if anyone has success reporting them? If so, where did you report them? I figure the $50 is gone but would like them to put on someone's radar to shut this place down.

To update: I called Visa and eventually got the same line of "we cannot activate your gift card without documentation". They too wanted me to fax over my Social Security number, Drivers license and Data of Birth. They state that there is a restriction on my Visa Gift Card. They could not tell me who placed that restriction, nor could they transfer me to a supervisor. All the supervisors are currently busy as it turns out each time I call.

Yes, I agree that this card company is a scam. Our son bought a card for my wife's birthday. When I tried to activate it, I could not because the 3- digit number that I was asked to type in was unreadable. I still have the card in case someone is interested to see it. I tried several times with the same results. I called their customer representative who has an Indian accent (He reminds me of the FB vlog from the anti-scammers) who told me that the card was already used. I told him it can't be because the packaging is intact and there is no proof of tampering. He said he is sorry and that was the end of that. My son also called but to no avail. Beware, do not buy any prepaid or gift card from this company. They are scammers and they should be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law.

Online merchants will not accept this card, even though their website clearly states: "accepted anywhere visa or mastercard is accepted". I tried with 5 vendors. Customer service is horrible as well!

I received a $100 gift card purchased at Krogers. I thought I was required to "Register" the card before using it because that is what the label said to do. I went to www.prepaidgiftbalance.com to register but got an error message that advised me to call customer service at 888.853-9536. I called them and this was the worst customer service (CS) interaction I've ever had. I told them I wanted to register the card and was told I needed to fax a form of gov't ID, the debit card and my phone number and that it would take a few days for this process to complete. I hung up and decided to read the cardholder agreement. The agreement said the card would be “activated” at the time of purchase, but would be denied if trying to purchase online - unless the card was "Registered". Okay, so I went shopping and used it at a department store and it worked. It will not work for ATM withdrawals or foreign transactions, and is not redeemable for cash. Also, it’s recommended to pay for gas purchases inside, not at the pump. Restaurants may automatically add to a bill a 20% gratuity, and if the total exceeds the remaining balance, the purchase will be denied. This is a gift card to avoid. It lends no clear instructions on how to use. The website doesn't work, then when you call you'll get the runaround by some illiterate person who is supposed to be a customer service rep.

I had the exact same experience today. There is should be some legal recourse against this provider, They are scam/ripoff. Daylitght robbery.

I am not going buy a gift card from any provider period anymore.

There is a big issue with prepaidcardbalance.com. I purchased a $100 gift card for my daughter, she tried to use it and the card didn’t go through. I contacted customer service the rep Edna stated I have to fax her at [protected] a copy of my ID, copy of the card front and back and my contact number. I let her know I have the date of purchase the location of purchase the card info used for the purchase and the purchase amount. She said she cannot discuss with me the reasons why the card was deactivated but if I wanted it reactivated this is what I had to do. I asked for a supervisor she said they are all busy and this was the process and what I had to do otherwise I can call back to see if one is an available. I asked the turn around time for the deactivation she said I need to call back in 3 days to confirm my fax was received and go from there……WTH

Same exact thing happened to me. I received a $50 gift card from Prepaid Gift Balance and when I went to use it, the purchase (in store) was declined. I went online to register the card (maybe it had to be registered/activated online first?) I got an error message and was prompted to call the number given. When we called the number on the back, quite a few representatives were very rude and told us the card was issued/used on January 13. 2022, but the person who gave it to me purchased it at King Soopers on December 7, 2022. The representative told us that the system probably made an error and reissued the same number - really? We were also told to send government id to check it out, otherwise there is nothing they can do. We contacted King Soopers and did not get anywhere either. We will never purchase a card from this company again. Now I am locked out of the account for my card.
