Just before the office of my apartment complex closed there doors I had initiated a conversation with an employee as to what I needed to do to end our lease upon the day it would originally end, April 30th. Several weeks later now and having little recourse I am being told as they cannot find my notice to vacate I will be held responsible for an additional months rent. I believe this is due to the fact that they will find it difficult to find a new renter at this time and therefore are claiming I had not already given notice to vacate.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The Complainant contacted the Property Manager on 04/07/2020 to inform her the location he was intending on moving too, was not available until Mid to end of May 2020 and would actually need to occupy current residence until May 31st. The Property Manager rescinded the notice to vacate and updated his move out date to 05/31/2020, as requested.
