On November 3rd, I bought a two-year contract for a VPN from Private Internet Access. Within a day or two, I visited the company's website and filled out a form for help. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any response. I tried again by submitting another form, but still no response. Meanwhile, I kept getting emails from the company asking for a review, so I left a negative review. Surprisingly, I received an email asking me to change my review so they could assist me. I did as requested, but still didn't hear anything from them.
On November 10th, I had to undergo major organ removal surgery and on November 12th, I emailed the company's support to request a refund. Unfortunately, I didn't get any response. On December 6th, I visited their website and used the live chat feature to talk to a customer service representative named Justin. I explained the situation and asked for a refund. He quickly informed me that my 30-day refund policy had expired. Before I could even send him the email proof of my original refund request, he abruptly ended the chat.
Feeling frustrated, I submitted another request for immediate chat support and connected with a different representative named Ben. I showed him the email proof of my refund request and expressed my disbelief. I told him that I had done this multiple times before and never received a response. I insisted that he take action and resolve the issue. He assured me that he had submitted a support request form for supervisor approval and provided me with a ticket number. It was ***. However, I still haven't received any communication from the company regarding their terrible customer service and my rightful refund.

Around 2 weeks ago on 02/28/21 I purchased a 2 year membership for PIA’s VPN service. The description of the membership stated that I would be billed 2 dollars a month for 2 years. However after purchasing I was immediately charged 70 dollars. This charge over drafted my bank account and was unexpected. After being charged I wanted to cancel my membership and be refunded. I thought this would not be an issue because of there “30 day guaranteed refund” policy. So with this in mind the day after purchasing I reached out to PIA asking for a refund. I was met with a response from a bot stating that a customer service agent would reach out to me as soon as possible. A week passed and I heard nothing. So I reached out again only to have yet again, no response. It has now been over 2 weeks with no response. I am afraid 30 days will pass without a response and I will be ineligible for a refund.

I ordered VPN services from Private Internet Access (PIA) under the 30 days money back guaranty. I cancelled the service timely and requested a refund. A refund has not been issued. Order date: 12/08 Cancellation date: 01/03 I have written 3 times since and their responses have nothing to do with what I ask. It looks as if they are ignoring me.
I have been with this company for over 10 years and they deduct faithfully 39.95 from my credit card yearly for service of which they did this last year. However, my prescription is not over until October 15, which leaves me with 269 days left I've already paid for and they have shut m service off and are trying to make me upgrade to 49.99 before my subscription is up. I do not think this is fair for them to take my money and turn off my service and I have contacted the company with no response.

I was finally able to talk to someone today. They said the reply emails "probably went to spam." I explained that I am trying to get a refund for a while because their services do not work on my computer somehow. Therefore, by trying to get their software to work, I was continually put in endless loops with their customer service without any resolution to the problem, and the only way I could get the software to work temporarily was to wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall the OS and all my other software, and if I also installed their software I would have to do this process again after about 2 days.

I emailed Private Internet Access that same day and shared what I said above. I did not receive a response, so I emailed on 3/7. No response, so I emailed again on 3/16 (3 weeks after my initial outreach). That same day, I filed a dispute with my bank for the credit card purchase. Private Internet Access told me that "it should return to my account balance within the next 5-10 business days". My bank told me that the dispute was denied (I don't understand why), and Private Internet Access told me that the cancelled my service when I filed a dispute, and they "don't have access to the funds now". So they charged me for a service, cancelled it, and won't refund me. So I can't even access what I paid for.

On October 21, I submitted a request for cancellation of my subscription and received a confirmation email to that effect, confirming that my subscription would remain active until October 28 19:51:54 UTC. However, since October 29, Private Internet Access has been charging my account $6.95 per month. I was charged $6.95 on each of November 28, December 28, January 28, February 28, March 28, April 28, May 28, June 28, July 28 and August 28. Private Internet Access claim that due to internal policy they cannot issue a refund to me for the charges made to my account after I canceled my subscription. The only refund they can issue is for the latest charge to my account made on August 28 for $6.95 That amount has been refunded to my account today

I tried to access their website but it did NOT work, as it was blocked from Egypt where I currently am. I tried emailing them for 5 months! multiple times explaining my situation. They finally answered me 3 months later asking for verification and I replied right away, only to find out that I am still getting charged EVERY month! I kept emailed every month since then clearly saying I need to CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION from the same email they have on file and they NEVER reply! I finally got a different VPN app on my Chrome to attempt to contact Private internet Access. Sadly, the employee that answered the chat said that he can only refund the current month! The employee said that "there is only a handful of them working there" indicating that that's the reason why they didn't take my many emails seriously! I asked the employee for a copy of that chat to be sent to my email and also choose that option when the chat ended, and yet I did not get a copy! It has been 5 months of me trying to cancel my account, and not giving them consent to charge me every month. I thought I would give them a chance to correct that mistake before filing a claim here, but they are giving no other options. I need a refund since the first email I sent asking for my account to be canceled.
