Unable to cancel free trial so I paid €99.96
The offer you a free trial and then you are unable to cancel it, so they charge a whole year, €99.00 in my case.
First step. I sent an email to try to cancel. Their answer:
We received your request. Due to a very high amount of incoming requests we will not be able to respond within the usual 48 hours. We will answer your request as soon as possible. Sending your inquiry again is not necessary.

I tried again. No answer. I tried to contact them through their contact form online and no answer. I tried to phone the number that appears on their website. The number does not exist (I am attaching screenshots).
And, after paying and not being able to cancel my subscription, I am unable to access their website. Screenshot attached.
Desired outcome: I want to get my money back. They charged for a service they haven't offered.

They are shysters and I believe fraudulent. But that is my belief. Read reviews and see if a lot of other people think they are fraudulent. They went through an unbelievable procedure of trying to get me to renew my subscription, which I would have done even with problems using them. They kept telling me to enter a NEW card number and details because my bank was "Blocking" the card. I checked with the Bank and no request from Usenet had been blocked and if they were using a different company name NO transactions had been blocked on my account. Now they are threatening Debt Collection and are generally being obnoxious, Stay away from this company!
Desired outcome: Stop other people falling for this company's scams.

On November 22, 2021 I subscribed to a trial period of 14 days to be billed €8/month unless unsubscribed. I had to give my PayPal details to create the usenet.nl account. Instantly, I was charged to €99, 96 for a yearly Relax plan. Since then PayPal cancelled my billing agreement with them, and I've been trying every possible way available in my country to unsubscribe, up to a dead end.
Desired outcome: I'd like to be unsubscribed within the trial period so I can get my money back.

The usenet.nl charge me for $99 without informing that I am still subscribe on their product even I cancelled it after I sign up for 14days free trial as it's appear on their website the choice if you want to cancel so I cancel it because it doesn't work in my location. And then I just received an email from paypal that my money is debited by Usenet.nl I am very shocked because I know that I already cancelled that subscription. I sent an email and even call their Customer Service I thought that I could ask for a refund even if I tell them to just charge me a 1 month subscription and refund me the rest of 11 months but the customer service that I spoke was too rude and just keep telling that they can't do anything about my problem. Hope someone can help me because that money was really important for me and my children. Thank you

Usenet.nl place ads all over the web offering free downloads of media, (music, movies, books etc), a lot of which they don't actually have available!
They offer an alleged 14 Day Free Trial which means you have to give them either your Card details or PayPal account. Although they make it appear you can cancel any time within the 14 Day Trial* but in the Contract you have just signed up to they insist on minimum NOTICE PERIODS which mean it is IMPOSSIBLE to actually cancel before the trial ends, meaning you technically owe them for at least 1 year's subscription!
*It is also EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to actually cancel in the first place, (in the SMALL PRINT it warns that their email address is NOT MONITORED so a lot of people send an email saying they want to cancel, which they can say they warned you wouldn't be read & therefore isn't a legitimate cancellation!
Buried in the sign-up email is a link to their 'support' form. You can fill this in but you have no real proof you've sent it, or when. Chances are they'll say they haven't received your cancellation & use that as an excuse for taking your money!
Also, in the contract is stipulates that NO REFUNDS will be given & they use this to prevent your Bank's chargeback, (if you gave them your card details - and God help you if you did, because your bank won't), & also to win a PayPal case against you if you try to claim the payment is unauthorised, (by signing up for the free trial you have inadvertently 'agreed' to their T&C)!

I think it is a right scam they said i could try the site out for 14 days if i like it then i have to pay 99 dollars to use it, i tried it it has nothing useful to download on there i tried cancelling the membership being bought deleted the software but was not able too cancel they keep trying to take the money out of my account which has become a right nightmare for me which will give me bank fines and a bad credit rating as im in minus and it will also take the money out as soon as i get paid which leaves me having to starve for weeks.. or having to cancel my card which will be a nightmare as i won't be able to withdraw money to get food for the month until my new card arrives!

Watch out! Don't register for the free trial. Don't try to download anything (the file don't exist). And most important thing:
Don't pay anything!
Block your credit card if is not paypal.
Account cancellation doesn't work. After the end of free trial, this "company" start to asking you for money for a never requested "full service" subscription ($100).
Sooner or later they'll give up.
Do not fall for their bullying: don't pay them!
They will use all sort of bully tactics just to scare you into sending money into their bank account. This is illegal, so, you can take legal action if you want.
Luckly I don't typed any credit card info (I don't have a credit card), so they can't do anything. Only send me payment requests and letters untill they give up (or untill i'll take legal action)

Hi, i asked to cancel my free trial and subscription in usenet.nl so i dont need to pay it. They sent me on my email: "Your contract with customer number [protected] will presumably be terminated on 01/27/2020 and it will not be renewed anymore."
I'm on my account right now and its showing me that i am a "subscription cancelled" and show a message too: " I want to withdraw my cancellation and subscribe to plan Relax (membership: 12 months, price: 99, 96€) from 01 / 28 / 2020."

Hello, I ask a friend that lives in US to call them, they delayed to answer, but after some minutes, they answered the call. My friend ask them to cancel my account and to not disturb us anymore haha.
They sent a email with a cancel confirmation and that’s ok until now. She calls them on January 20, 2020.

I accepted the free subscription on Usenet, on October 18, 2019, because I was looking for a book and every page I opened to download it took me to Usenet.
As PayPal accepted payment method and there was a free trial time I did it.
My subscription lasted eight minutes (8 minutes) and I canceled it because I couldn't download the book. PayPal has the cancellation and all the tests, I never used the page, I don't remember my username, or my pass because as I couldn't download the book, I only entered my PayPal and canceled the subscription, that lasted 8 minutes.
On November 3, Usenet began sending me emails saying that I must pay 104 dollars plus 3 euros for other expenses and threaten to take "my case" further if I don't pay.
I sent them countless emails with all the tests and answers that PayPal gave me to calm down, because I'm disabled and i am very nervous, I told the company in my emails and they don't care, but that doesn't count for Usenet. Keep say me to pay for something that I didn't use and was supposed to be free

hello, 2 weeks ago i clicked a link where to download free music sounds in a community forum. someone who provided the link(i m guessing an affiliator at this point) said it was safe just required CC but that it s trusted site... i filled with my infos and put my mom s card number but i thought i wouldn t pay anything.. webiste gave me username and password to get in so i didnt had a normal procedure of a signup...i did download sounds that i wanted but the product was a disappointment..i just didnt think anymore about this website and they tried to take 99$ from me but the bank blocked the card. on the original website the first page says 14 days trial which i didnt see it all on the first page to download..it was a really weird procedure.. my fault i should have been more careful... now i m stuck with them and i have to pay... the cancellation will be terminated on june 2020! and if i dont pay they will send me a bill at home with additional charges. they told me on the phone. i would have paid if it was only my mistake but they are not good business. so many people are feeling uncofortable and got scammed...i m not paying.
therefore i researched well their address which is italian. i m half italian.. i know the town.. and i called couple of stores in the building but no one knows about USENET.NL.. it s a 2 floor build. in the middle of nowhere...Their number on italian websites for searching companies is so wrong they add next to the italian code +39 english code 0044 and than normal number ... they could have power to run years of their business but they re not smart ... one day they will close ! no one pays! please this website will ruin you and turns the fault to you.

It has been over 5 days since I sent my first request both via email and your support form and I still haven't receive any reply from you guys yet. I am very angry about this. If you guys still decide to be silent over this matter, I'm not going to continue waiting. Hi! Im sorry to hear that. Have you called them and received a confirmation letter of termination?.
Based on what I have read in many forum, you have to call their hotline or contact through their form.. I have tried both and called the UK hotline, fortunately I am able to get the email confirmation within minutes, and the form was replied promptly too. I just hope there wont be any fee charged to my credit card after the trial period. Have you checked the status in your account, what does it say. Please dont give up and try to call the hotline. I was lucky to be connected to a rep just at 5 minutes after being on hold. Hope everything goes well for you .

Hello I made a huge mistake that I subscribe to usenet. Nl free trail. And they charge me 1 usd after I subscribe! I google it after that. I saw many fears cases that they are scam.. I emailed them and contact there support to cancel the subscription before end of free trail. After 24 house they mail me back that your contract with customer number [protected] will presumably be terminated on 10/11/2019 and it will not be renewed anymore.. I fear that after end of trail they charge me 100 usd like they do to other people and stole the money from my credit card help me please to solve that nightmare please!

I was trying to locate a documet. I was prompted by usenet. I attempted to register and the registration process was complicated and did not work.
I did not proceed. Two weeks later my bank informed me that this company was trying to draw 100$ from my account. I blocked the transaction and any further transaction. I contacted the company and asked for the acount, which I was under the understanding was not real as the registration process was never completed and I never received any mail to confirm the registration competion, to be cancelled. I received a cancellation confirmation. They continue to try and claim money from me. It is a scam and properly complicated. I purchase goods from Amazon, l Ebay, Aliexpress and ahve never had this problem.
Please warn people not to try this service. I am going to have there emails blacklisted and have already prevented emails from there domain even getting to my server.

Definitely a fraud... i subscribed to reddit/usenet on the 14 days trial as advertised. I decided to cancel within a week through their support form on their website. I received confirmation and also was asked for cancellation reason. I was shocked to find that i have been charged US99 at the end of the month. I lodged a complaint and they asked for proof of cancellation. Now, that's the strange part. I just could not locate the correspondence i received from their support team in reply to my cancellation via their web support form. I'm convinced that it's all been set up to lure customers into subscribing and making it near impossible to cancel, thus scamming us all. Advice to all... stay away from reddit/usenet!

I joined Usenet as it promoted itself to be like Amazon to watch movie online with. This company is fraudlent and false. I was charged fees straight away and also tried calling their contact phone number which does not work and lodged a claims form. Do not ever join this fake website, it is illegal and fraudulent! Please let me know how I can resolve this immediately. I joined the site at 9:00pm last night on the 22nd of March 2019 and was charged funds immediately. It is not like amazon at all and you can't even access movies. The contact phone number is also unlisted and does not exist and does not work from any country. I have contacted my bank ANZ today and they can see I am being charged by Usenet straightaway when it was suppose to be a free trial.

I used the page once and left no data for the payment, because I was not interested in buying any of their services. That is why I left the page and forgot about it, because I was sure no one charged my card, and was sure that they would contact me later to ask if I was interested in their services and I'd just ignore it.

I use internet services all-the-time. It probably makes me both fully aware of what I'm doing and careless at the same time. I consider myself savvy and it's the first time anything like that has happened to me. At first, I started blaming myself, as a victim normally does, but the evidence has been mounting and I cannot understand how that kind of company can still exist, operate and use actual bullying and threates fot over a decade.
I thought it was important to leave some testimony. I hope it will be possible to put an end to it soon.
