Qatar Airways seating planning & arrangements, requesting exchanging seats middle of flight & early morning hours

i am shocked in the manner Qatar Airways has handled the situation. The unfortunate experience encountered using your airline has been disappointing to say the least. As a US citizen i will wait until I return home and file a complaint and claim for the level of services provided and loss of my cell phone due to negligence and poor service by Qatar Airways cabin and ground staff.

Interestingly, Qatar Airways has no problem aggressively asserting its claims and collecting fines when the opportunity presents itself. When I was leaving out of JFK airport in New York, arriving from Washington DC, and the taxi driver dropped me in the wrong terminal, was denied check - in arriving the ticket counter 55 minutes prior to departure. I was forced to pay a hefty penalty and wait in the airport in excess of 10 hours. I accepted responsibility although believing I could have made it to plane, given how light I was traveling.

After spending 10 hours sitting in JFK, and 12 hours flight to Doha connecting in 3 hours, beyond exhausted boarding flight to Khartoum. Two hours after takeoff, i was asked by cabin crew to change my seat from 10 A, to 10 G accommodating a child (around 6 - 7 years old) separated from his mother whose seat was 10 B. Extremely exhausted and half asleep I followed the crew member instructions. The phone must have fell when i was made to move from my seat.

I noticed missing the phone in arrival terminal prior to luggage delivery as i wanted to call and enphonesure someone was sent to pick me up. I looked for Qatar Airways representative but none was found. The airport authorities did not allow me to return to the aircraft. After collecting my luggage searched for Qatar Airways office, after searching for an hour found the office, but no one was there. I waited until 10:00 a.m to meet an employee in the airport office. They took contact information at Khartoum and promised to followup with me. An hour later received a call with an email to file a claim.

On July 9, was able to track my phone via Google GPS at Doha terminal B, immediately took a taxi to Khartoum airport meeting Qatar Airways luggage representative and forwarded the information to your office. after twenty minutes I locked the phone and set the alarm believing that a representative from your office would immediately respond to terminal location identified in the map and responded in due diligence to find the phone. Surprisingly a response was sent on July 11, 2017. Thus, no one responded when informed of the location.

From your last email, it appears that your office is attempting to clear its liability from its poor seating forcing me to locate to another seat in a full flight. I was using the phone when boarded the flight sending an email to Khartoum advising of the changes to my arrival and flight number. If my perception is wrong, please correct my perception. I leaving Khartoum at 4:45 am on July 31, QA 1324, arriving Doha airport at 11:15 am, connecting to QA 703/31 at 2:15 pm.

The material facts our son experienced clearly violate fundamental regulations and rules governing the international travel defined by Warsaw and Monteral conventions, yet, more importantly the culture and values of our beloved airline. I am struggling explaining the grim reality, experienced by our child, utilizing deception and manipulation resulting in a denied boarding nightmare. Consequently, we incurred extra expenses purchasing new ticket, transportation fare to and from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, hotel accommodation etc. We do not wish to linger on our perception and sense of indignation. Yet, our child was denied boarding of mentioned flight, as documented in comments stated in his PNR ZS4XGV, still, incomplete failing to report amount of excess baggage weight & amount that was charged. Nonetheless, Mr. Mohamed Abdulraouf the counter supervisor of Qatar Airways in Hyderabad airport, documented our child was offloaded due to excess baggage requirements. We do not wish to cloud your undertaking this matter with 2nd party factual of “he/she said”. Mr. Abdulraouf denied our son the 7kgs carryon, and personal laptop (HP Pavilion x360 15T Touch, weights 6Ibs, and approximately 15” X 9” in dimension). He continued to speak English when our son attempting to discuss methods to reduce alleged excess baggage to catch his flight which was reserved and planned a year ago resultant to his graduation and family member wedding. Mr. Abdulraouf had our son’s Sudanese passport, shockingly refused to engage his conversation in Arabic, irresponsibly determining to offload and cancel his flight. The “14 CFR Part 250” relating to airline over sales” refusal to board including racial and ethnic profiling as stated in “Travel Law Ś2.06(6), (see Flaster/Greenberg P.C. v. Brendan Airways). In general, denied boarding is defined – Refusal to accommodate passengers on a flight although they have valid ticket, a confirmed reservation on the flight – presenting themselves for check – in – within required time limit as stipulated. We imagine the same questions are racing through your brilliant mind as were racing through ours on that fateful day:
❖ How can a fellow Muslim Arab treat his brother in this manner? ❖ How can Qatar Airways airport supervisor violate our beloved and esteemed carrier’s culture and values, furthermore, violates basic rights of customers as defined in all convention agreements defining laws and regulations? ❖ What were the earnestness driving for sever behavior exposing the company to legal liability, and tarnishing its excellent customer service qualifications, everyone worked hard in the last 5 years, to earn? Our family would like to recognize and express its gratitude and appreciation for the sensitive and consideration we encountered from the Qatar Airways, Sales Manager and his staff at Khartoum’s office, for their immediate attention and assistance bringing our stranded child home, and explaining the process voicing our concerns. Yet, we elected to contact your esteemed office, given lingering feelings of behavior and cultural violations of our beloved
I have full confidence that your office will, wisely, make a balanced and impartial decisions that serves the best interest of your stakeholders and our community. We are confident, the material facts will support of complaint, and make the decision restoring our faith in Qatar airways while making us whole for financial damages incurred and authorizing denied boarding compensation to our son. Thank you for your time, and efforts undertaking the due diligence process challenge to protect our community and upholding the ethical standards and laws to your best ability.

Qatar Airways call center associates

Can you please assign call center associates who can comprehend the english language correctly? I spoke with 3 people and my request was incorrectly handled.

You should be putting people who do not only speak good english but have excellent comprehension.

I requested for a change from Ms. - Mr. On the e-ticket for my father's name and after speaking with 3 people, they changed it yes, but on my mother's name which was from a Ms. - Mr. Brilliant minds.

Listen to the recording to be able to provide a better training to your customer service representatives.

Also the letter G's phonetic is not Jillian.

Qatar Airways service

Good day
To whom it may concern,
I would like to submit a complaint, knowing that Qatar Airways is my favorite airways, today i passed through a very bad experience, i booked to larnaca to go to a friends wedding right after my work knowing that QA was the only flight who had direct at this time, wedding starts at 8 !
I reached the counter and we no previous notification they told me larnaca flight is cancelled now you have to go via beirut!
1- i am american and what if i dont wish to go to beirut at all 2- im super sick 3- ill miss 3 hours of my best friends wedding who initially im going to cyprus for! 4- i asked for an upgrade at least cause flight is so full and annoying they refused to give me so now i have to arrive sick and late and uncomfortable just cause QA decided not to inform me about this delay which i wouldve cancelled my trip for honestly!
i reached beirut, QA team forgot to book me ticket from beirut to larnaca so again had to wait on transfers desk 2 hours, then there was a delay in beirut flight so i reached hotel at 12 midnight when i was supposed to reach 7 pm.

I hope someone takes my case into consideration and do something about it as i hate having QA's standards drop like this due to bad communication !

Qatar Airways staff behaviour

On 27th May 2017, me and my wife experienced the worst and unfriendly treatment from the ground staff of Qatar Airways on our flight back to Dallas Fortworth (DFW) from DOH(QR 729). The attendant’s name was Shaikh. I forgot my handbag at the electronics check-in counter just outside the gate and remembered it just after the security at gate. I asked the security staff the permission to go and get back my bag from the counter which was a few feets away from the gate. This lady then started to yell and show faces to me and my wife. I left my handbag and valuables at the counter and it was my responsibility to get it back. I did not understand till this point of time why on earth she yelled at us where the security staff gave me permission to walk back to the counter and get my bag back. We asked for the chances of upgrading as I am an Emerald Member and she without even checking the possibility, simply bashed at us on our face with an arrogant ‘NO’. I have never experienced this kind of treatment from Qatar or any other airlines till date. She behaved as if I have done some grievous mistake(Really! forgetting the bag at counter sounds like a silly mistake to me). Qatar was always our choice of journey back and forth India. This attitude is never acceptable. She behaved as if we were waiting for her mercy to check the possibility of getting upgraded. I’m totally dissatisfied by the behavior and poor customer management skill of Ms. Shaikh. I sincerely wish to not see that face in future and with this lady’s substandard performance and yelling in front of all passengers made me to rethink about taking another Qatar flight in future. Such a shallow, incompetent and disgusting treatment was never expected from QATAR Airways. Kindly teach that Shaikh lady the basics of customer service and convince that the customers are not waiting for her mercy, we are asking what we deserve and we expect a decent and loyal way of service from a so called ‘five-star airline’.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you in connection with the above flights on which I was booked to travel on June 23rd and 24th 2017.

I always choose Qatar Airways for my business and holidays trips.
But this time, my trip was a nightmare...
The first flight was supposed to depart from Paris Charles de Gaulle at 9:10 am, but was delayed by 40 minutes.
What happened is, we landed in Doha with 40 minutes late.
I could see on the screen that the boarding was open for my connecting flight to Bangkok. I still had 20 minutes to run and get my flight to Bangkok, but according to the airport staff it was not possible.
They offer me to stay a night over in Doha and that they would pay for my hotel night.
But for me this solution was not possible, because I had to be in koh Samui in the morning for work.
Then they left me during 40 minutes and came back with an other option.
They offer me to fly first to Singapore and then to Koh Samui.
I had to wait 4 hours more at Doha airport.
I've accepted this option because i had to be at work as soon as possible.

But when I finally arrived to Koh Samui, my final destination, another problem came up.
My luggage was lost...
I was very surprised because in Doha I've asked more than 3 times to your staff to make sure my luggage will follow the same way I had to travel, and they've told me that I won't have to worry about that.
After waiting for two days, losing 2 days of work because my uniform was in my suitcase, losing a lot of money everyday taking taxis to the airport, calling everyday Singapore to find where was my suitcase.
No one of Qatar airways which is a five star company could tell where was my luggage.

My suitcase arrived two days after my arrival, and was in Bangkok. I was really surprised from that mistake of your airport staff in Doha.
I've put a lot of energy and lost two working days because of this disagreement.

I may point out that in my long travel history I had found Qatar Airways a good Airline, that's why I and my family take a real pleasure to travel with since many years between Paris and Bangkok although there are equally good Airlines operating Paris / Bangkok route providing service at the same level or even better.

I consider fair to receive a financial compensation for all the inconvenience I've been trough.

The flight was stuck on the runway at touch down waiting for a parking bay.
It eventually got a parking bay, which meant I had to rush through to the Qatar desk, I eventually made it, and the lady agent working there, was so rude, and told me I was late, and I was late by 10 min (She also informed me that the flight was adjusted 2 weeks prior and I bought this flight with miles and cash, and I did not receive any notification). I begged her to let me on the flight, you can check your cameras and monitors, I was so stressed I forgot my wallet and Passport on the counter, and i was rushing around in a state, i phoned a friend, to help me get to qatar to connect with my connecting flight. I realized my wallet and passport were missing and reported it to the kiosk desk near the qatar desk, and the agent eventually found my wallet as well as passport with almost $600 been stolen. I then jumped on another flight from Chicago Ord to Istanbul Turkey, which my friend paid for to catch my connecting flight from DOH, and when I eventually got there in time, they told me my flight had been cancelled, because I missed my first flight. This was a disaster at 1:30 am in the morning, but I must say that Abdullah Moshin at your Qatar desk was helpful and helped me get onto a flight back to Durban.This man deserves a gold medal. I am a regular customer, but wow this was a nightmare, I am expecting compensation for this nightmare. I eagerly await your reply.

Qatar Airways theft of jewelry from my checked in bag

My family flight from Lagos to the USA ( JFK) on the 31st of July 2017 flight QR 1408 and QR703 was associated with theft of jewelry from one of my checked in bags.
upon my arrival and after retrieving my case I noticed that it has been searched and the jewelry removed (stolen). The jewelry stolen are 3 gold necklaces and 3 sets of pendants with ear rings.
This is very disappointing as it is my first experience with Airline that is suppose to offer first class services.
please I need you to look into this and retrieve the jewelry.

We booked a flight on board Qatar Airways and the booking was urgent. We were 7 people because of compelling family circumstances that necessitated our return to the country at the very fastest pace. However, when we reach Doha airport to return back home we found that our flight was delayed, it was supposed to be around 7pm but it had shifted to 1 pm without even called us or told us about before, The reason was the sale of a number of tickets exceeded the number of chairs, we had been compensated $ 250 and asked us to go to the lounge businessmen to wait but we insisted not to miss the flight as it was very urgent case and this was rejected by them, which caused our presence and presence at the time required, so we landed home within the limits of the estimate At 3 o'clock at night, therefore we demand a compensation for that lose, we would come In a lawsuit against the company, but we have been informed of the writing of this complaint,

Qatar Airways in flight food shortage!

My wife and my 9 year old daughter took a round trip flight from Dallas-Doha-Dhaka and return, on 6/18/2017 & 7/19/2017. It was quite strange and coincidence that on their way to and from Dallas to Doha to Dhaka they were not served regular menu dinner with the excuse that they ran out of food! How can one ran out of menu meal every time? rather they were substituted with sandwich and snacks of very poor quality that they even didn't eat! Is it the treatment of a so called world's #1 airline? Specially when we paid for the on board meal. Will they ever compensate that?
For reference our booking Ref # 6X7P4P.

We have traveled with almost all international carriers for over last 3 decades but this type of "confidence" never happens. I recall onetime, years ago on Emirate, they did not have my special meal request, however, they had substituted that with a "First class traveler's fruit & snack trey" (I was in economy), indeed, it was by all means better then my special meal.

I may not cancel my next trip on QA for this food issue but certainly would expect "no more coincidence".

Qatar Airways qatar airways issued a ticket and do not honor their agreement to transport to agreed destination.

My name Is Dr. salama

I hold a return flexible business class ticket between Cairo and Sydney. I called your call center in India to simply travel as I had an emergency in Cairo I need to attend to. And despite my explanation that I hold a binding contract ticket of flexible dates they refused to arrange for my travel on the 16th of August 2017 The following reply as sorry our policy is restricted to 15 days of travel date ?. But my ticket is flexible.

When I made the purchase, I selected the top flexibility since I'm a business owner and can request to travel at short notice.

I need from Qatar airways to live to its reputation and public promises that it shall accommodate their passengers and not to say sorry our new policy have changed after I purchased a legally binding ticket .

I hold a legally binding ticket to fly me back to Cairo. Please kindly help me to reach my destination by either endorse my ticket on other airline or by any other mean. I do not accept a refund and I can not wait another seven month to travel. I need to fly to Cairo urgently.

The say nothing we can do . They acknowledge that my expensive business class ticket is flexible but they can not change dates for unknown reason and leave us no options. Is it that simple. Qatar Airways missing luggage

To whom it may concern,

Yesterday, my husband and I had a flight from Walvis Bay, Namibia to Johannesburg and after that Johannesburg to Doha and our final destination was Sofia, Bulgaria. Unfortunately, our luggage did not arrive on time and on the airport in Sofia they told us to come back today. We did so accordingly, but the staff from Baggage Claims that the luggage is not there. Therefore we called all airports, we talked with many people who are supposed to have at least some information. I am very very disappointed at how your company handles this situation since yesterday they tracked the luggage as it is on the airports. Today no one seems to acknowledge the fact that our baggage was or is there. You can only imagine what kind of discomfort you are causing. As a client of yours, I am really re-considering how I am going to proceed my next destination.

Qatar Airways worst service ever had on any airlines

As that was my first journey with Qatar on 20th June, 2017 from IAD to DOHA, had many expectations from the airline. Unfortunately my son(Devanshu Sharna - 7yr old) & I had a sad beginning as the flight was delayed for 5 hrs and my son was ill too. And realized we had spend $1200 only for rescheduling the journey for that baddest day ever.

Finally we had boarded the flight after 4:30hrs. As my kid was not well I asked for warm water carrying my kid's school bottle to the pantry, immediately after everyone settled down, and so Ms.Nelita(i remember her name as the total incident is around her) provided us the 'perfect warm water' and also mentioned to check the heat before giving it to the Kid. I am so impressed to have such caring crew. All well so far.

In the middle of night, I again went to pantry for the same reason carrying the same school water bottle. This time another lady served me. Fortunately I had a sip before giving it to my Kid, and goddamned it was hot boiling water and burned my tongue & lips, I still have my whole journey left 😢.

I went back to the pantry & complained the same. She came to me and apologized sincerely. The actual problem began when the manager of the crew Ms.Nelita came into picture. Neither her voice nor attitude sounded she is really concerned about the matter. For the courtesy, she said calm down, don't cry( I actually was) and that too, too louder standing in the aisle making me feel even more embarrassed. And I said we had already waited too long in the airport as flight delayed and my kid was not well, this incident lower my mood even more worse, before even starting the journey .Nelita replied, crew had worked for a long day and tired, why the hell is she explaining all about her job grieviances to me. I don't care how long they are working, after all every employee has their working hrs as per some rules. And attempting to divert the topic, asking me ' Did you report on the ground about your son's health?' It's my business dear Nelita. The other lady who had given me hot water later came to me asking for any medical assistance, I checked with her how can they help me when the bruise is internal (tongue) and partially external(on lips). She replied, she has to call the doctor and I said OK. After few minutes she came back to me saying "anything applied on those areas can make things more worse". True, I myself asked for ice and she got me exactly what I asked for the first time😜.

Then again in the morning hrs Ms.Nelita came to me and asked to read a paper(refusal of any medical assistance aboard) and sign on it, also mentioned to return the pen back, so silly, who the hell worried about keeping the pen back. I am so surprised about the crew expecting me to sign on the refusal paper when I clearly asked for assistance. Imagine, if mistake is on my side, and I din't ask for assistance, why did she say the words "anything applied over those areas can make things more worse ". Did the Crew started treating the passengers on their own😳?

The worst is yet to be heard. After a while in the morning during breakfast hrs, I saw Nelita standing infront of washroom and said to me ' M'am why are feeling so bad about this small incident. Even deaths happened on air in few cases'😱. May be she is wishing to be part of such flight. And also said 'by the way, mam you should be responsible and should take first sip before giving to your child'. Go to hell Nelita, I took the first sip and hence burned was my mouth not anyone else's. And when I returned to my seat, I saw my breakfast/brunch not served. Hmmm. I am not patient enough to ask for it now, no one had even bothered to serve till end. Actually not interested to face the disfavor crew.

After all, at the end, already announced the flight descend, Nelita insisted me either to sign or to discuss the whole issue. I chose the later one and went to the pantry where I saw three ladies standing for me including Nelita & the lady who brought hot water. We talked about whole sequence but she objected me saying I din't ask for any medical assistance and awkwardly argued she din't even utter any harsh words like being responsible, deaths happened over flights. And she said 'Mam, please finally I would like to say, no one is perfect in the world. I believe am not perfect, I know these two ladies are not, and you are also not perfect😨😱' How rude in choosing her words to a passenger over renowned airlines. Pff. 'Many times happens with the passengers, when coffee/tea is served. They burn mouths by mistake' Hell with you Nelita, she totally out of her mind. Is that really comparable with the openly served beverages? Really? Finally, I lost for an unprofessional Manager. She said she would write whatever happened as she had to record the incident.

As expected we missed our connecting flight from Doha to Chennai and opted to stay back to catch other day's same flight, as their alternatives are not workable. Robert helped us a lot. In the second flight, we saw the headset socket is failed & not fixed. I wished to reach home anyhow, but the crew of this flight is very pleasing & kind.

Qatar, I would sincerely request to think twice to select the professional manager of the crew and please keep in mind we are paying for every single service you provide. Nothing is given out of charity. Don't spoil our wonderful journeys with kids travelling so long to meet our family / friends.

I am damn scared to travel again with Qatar on my return way. Please consider this and hope you get back to me & I need your answer to the whole sequence.

Qatar Airways flight denied compensation

My flight reservation on July 2nd 2017 from Boston to Addis Ababa via Doha was overbooked and I was denied boarding, I was told that I'll be compensated for $1350 USD which will be wired to my account or mailed to my address in Boston it has been 22 days I haven't received the check nor deposit in my account

Qatar Airways lost baggage and flight cancellation

I travelled with my family from Multan to Jeddah via Doha on QATAR AIRLINE on 5th June 2017. On reaching Doha, I learnt that flights to Jeddah are cancelled.
Waited for 24 hours at Doha Airport and slept on floor no hotel provided.
Was sent to Muscat next day. Again had to wait there for 12 hours and then finally reached Jeddah after delay of 48 hours.
On reaching Jeddah, I learnt that my luggage didn't arrive. I tried to contact Qatar/ Oman air staff, but no one was there.
Didn't receive my luggage til today after lapse of about two months. Had to spend a lot of money in buying things due to non availability of luggage.
Qatar airways is not ready to listen to me. My complaint number is CAS-819762-M8Q5V2.
Please let me know what should I do?

Qatar Airways no help after iphone got stolen/lost

To who it may concern,
I sent this message already many times to different departments of Qatar airways. I'm still waiting for response. I didn't get any support or help. I'm very disappointed and hope it will change.
The message was:
My (Josh Carubia) phone went missing whilst travelling with my family 3 children and partner (Emelie) from Malaysia to Germany. On the 18/06/2017 departure from Malaysia at 10:50 am flight number qr 857.
I made sure to turn my phone off when the captain asked at the start of our journey in Malaysia. Then placed my phone in the compartment where the on flight information is kept and I think it's important to point out i was in the front row. At the end of the journey emelie and I were getting our children organised emelie checked each compartment pockets and seats twice whilst I looked after our 3 children. Then I also checked for all compartments and seats for any of our belongings . We made our way to our connecting flight in Doha and noticed that my phone was no longer with us. We checked with the ground staff and it didn't show up, we believe it was stolen whilst I was busy trying to settle my 6 month old son.
Please if it shows up some where let me know. It has really wrecked my family's trip to Europe we now can't access my emails and banking. I hope you manage to contact me soon. Qatar Airways baggage

We traveled through qatarairways on 25 June from MCT to NJF
When reached NJF airport, we didn't find one of the baggage there, when compliant the at lost and found, they told us it was left behind the in Qatar
Almost 3 weeks has been passed and still they haven't followed up our complain and are suffering a lot due to their mishandling. I hope they would improve in future.

Qatar Airways delaying the flight

dear sir
this complain i am writing to you regarding the delay flight on 12th July, which was shedulled to departure 2.15 am from doha qatar flight number-qr 664(qatar airways) to sri lanka unfortunately the officers from the bording department announced the flight is delay for half an hour and then the fligt departured at 8.30 folowing morning also there was a annoncement
the delay is due to a technical fault which normaly shoud not because the word technical fault is panicable to the passangers due to this worst situation
i am totaly dissapointed with qatar air ways, lack of sleep mentaly affected
and iam not back to the normal situation yet i hope that you will realize
i am expecting a favourable reply and solution for my life helth and safety

Qatar Airways not providing accommodation and meals on cancellation of flight by american airlines flight no. aa 3522

My daughter daully singh travelled in qatar airways e ticket booking no. 157-[protected] on 12/07/2017 delhi to memphis usa. on arrival at chicaho airport ord flight no. AA3522 has been cancelled without any information to me as well as my daughter. However no accommodation and meals have been arranged by airlines. Kindly tell me why should above facilities not provided to my daughter. who will pay extra burdon of money paid my daughter on accommodation and meals. Since my daughter has expended a sum of rs. 10000 due to negligency of your airlines, may be refunded in my bank account as early as possible otherwise i will complaint to mnistry of aviation india so that your company can be suspanded to fly in india

Qatar Airways flight

Morning,

It was the first time we flew with Qatar airways (we were a group) AND
THE LAST TIME.
Your airline don't accommodate us if we must sit and wait at the
airport for 7 hours. We had to sleep on the floor.

We received our suitcases back and two peoples suitcases were damage
beyond repair.
We had elderly people (69 and 68) with us who sat very uncomfortable
for 10 hours and we asked several times for them to be accommodated at
the exit or bigger leg space seats. It was ignored.

In our country we HAVE ALLOT OF RESPECT FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE and have
benefits for them to accommodate them to be comfortable.
