Autotoys.com Refund

Heres my story --

I wanted an iVic-6D, so back in August Autotoys said they had stock, so I ordered one (having missed my chance to get one from Gene direct...)

Order was placed and card charged ... I heard nothing for a week or so. I emailed them, I got a reply a few days later and they said they were coming. I said, Ok, cool... another 2 weeks, I asked again - same deal. Another week or so, same deal. So now, I want to cancel my order, but they said they were coming soon and they would make it right by refunding $1 a day for each day it was late.

Come mid November - My unit ships. I get it Thanksgiving week, but I'm in Buffalo and I can't get it yet since its damn cold out... Now by the time my ships, I paired $430, the real shipping price is now $399. I email and ask for them to be true to their promise, that kept my order with them, and refund something. They said "Lets wait until you install the unit".

Fine, I install it Dec 10 or so - after a few issues with their video that was based on an old install, and with the help of Gene (thanks!) I got it in and working.

Email Autotoys, they say "Lets wait a week to make sure the unit is working and good".

I wait and email back. Nothing for a few days, I email back - they ask how I overcame some issues on the install - I explained how (Dec 28th) - I have now emailed 2 more times about my refund and they are ignoring all email now... No replies...

So, I'm guessing basically, since they have my money from the unit (at a higher price than when sold even) - I'll never hear from them again ... I would never go back to buy a thing from them - Its just been a nightmare ... For one, top not refund the new price like ANY company would do. And Two, promise another incentive for staying with the order and then not delivering after I can longer call VISA/etch to dispute anything ...

Just Frustrated ...

An example : On Aug 11, they sent "the ivic wont be back in stock until a few more days, if you keep the order, we can offer you a discount and express shipping. The manufacturer has a backorder on it at the moment. Thanks for your patience."

Autotoys.com Product Manipulation

AWFUL! Twice they asked if they could substitute items/parts in our order. Twice we told them NO, we would wait for the items we ordered to come off backorder. After waiting three weeks, they simply ignored our requests and instructions and shipped our order with substituted items anyway. Therefore, our counsel has told us that their attempts at "restocking fees" and such are not valid. After multiple emails stating they were going to substiture items, they then stated they never said that and tried to mince words saying they never said they were going to ship what we actually wanted and ordered. When we asked for the specifics of what they wanted to substitute they refused to answer with any details of specificity. Once they said they shipped our order anyway, we asked if they had shipped the item numbers we ordered. They responded with more flim//flam and stated they didn't use those item numbers and said we should "look at your original order", which, by the way, DID state the items we ordered, including the OEM brand name without the OEM part numbers. Horrible, folks who write nasty email responses once they've charged your credit card and who truly act like the stereotypical nasty city folk from whence they came. We highly advise you to stay away! Worth it to pay a little more and avoid the frustration and disappointment!

Autotoys.com Beware of this company

I have actually never done this before but am so shocked at the service I received from this company I HAD to do something. This Christmas my 6 year old nephew, Sam, wanted a remote control dune buggy. I went online and did some looking around, and ended up purchasing what looked like a really nice one from a company called AUTOTOYS. COM. They allowed me to fill out a form on the web to have it shipped to him directly to San Diego, and all was well, so I thought.

They shipped it to me instead, so I let them know about the mistake and I shipped it myself to San Diego, no big deal. They never offered anything for the mistake, but blamed me instead, saying their website does not allow different ship to addresses, even though it let me fill out the form that way.

When my nephew opened it and my brother tried to hook it up, it wouldn't work, and there were no instructions except a 1 page sheet in Chinese... hmmm not too helpful. Since there is NO NUMBER anywhere on their website and you have to file complaints via email (big red flag) I did that for the past 2 weeks with no reply from them. Well, tonight I received one... Here was what they said in response to the fact that their product does not work and has never worked: This product is sold with no warranty. That's it. No replacement is offered, nothing. Basically they have told me I am out my money and have something that has never worked.

Sinner, if you want to get your nephew a nice remote control car that only cost $9.99 plus tax go to CVS Pharmacy. This week it's in their ad on page 6, the name of it is Thunder Tumbler (Radio control 360 rally car) it' alsome. I saw this on HSN last Christmas and it was $16.84 plus shipping & handling. I was ordering 6 the CSR hang-up on me. I called back and they were sold out. Then by the grace of God I went to CVS and find the same remote car for about $12.00 cheater or more for each car. So it was like buy one get one free. Well my grandsons & nephews love them. Even the big boys love them. Oh and it comes with a 9 volt battery but you have to buy the AA batteries. The 9 volt is the most expensive battery anyway. I believe it is a souped up dune buggy with 5 wheels & an antenna that helps the car spin over and around, it's indoor/outdoor. He will love it. You can do returns at CVS if something doesn't work and you can also get Extra Bucks with their Extra Care card. Four of the cars I only paid $7.99 plus tax. I hope you have a CVS in your town or you may be able to purchase online. I hope I've been helpful. God Bless you & we can't let the crooks get the best of us. Go to CVS.com (check it out)
