Tacky Condo In Slum
This is a shameless con. The complex website shows pretty pictures of villas by the beach, but in reality your accomodations turn out to be an unclean apartment in a tacky new condo being built in a poor part of an obscure town called Playa del Coco, a long, long drive from the new Liberia airport. There are ameneties or transportation. This is just awful in every way.

Vacation Renal Scam
This is a scam run by notorious con artist Rimma Pornaya. Pictures on the website feature tropical villas by the beach, but your accommodations turn out to be a tacky condo rising incongruously from a ghetto. The real purpose behind Costa Rica Vacation One is to sell condos. These people are without a shred of ethics. Stay away!

Vacation Rental Scam
This is a scam run out of a New York apartment. The web site features pretty pictures, but you will end up in a tacky condo under construction in the slums of a depressing village called Playa del Coco. The rooms are dirty, the surroundings are dismal, the service is poor, there are no amenities and there is nothing whatsoever to do. There is also no transportation, and the nearest shops are a one hour walk down a dirt road. The beach is a half hour away and a cesspool. On top of all this, they have the gall to continuosly attempt to convince you to purchase one of those awful condos.

This online scam rents "vacation properties" in Costa Rica that turn out to be dismal shacks in Costa Rica's poorest slums. The General Manager of this operation is the already-notorious con woman Rimma Portnaya.
This is an outrageous, infuriating scam. We rented a "beach house" that turned out to be a dirty condo in a tacky, unfinished complex rising incongruously from the ghetto of a dismal town called Playa del Coco. The "free breakfast" turned out to be a sales pitch for said condo. The rooms were dirty and insect infested. The staff was rude, there were no amenities and nobody seemed to be in charge. There was no transportation, and the nearest shops were a 45 minute walk down a muddy dirt road The beach was a half hour away and featured dirty sand and murky water. We tried to make the best of it for a few days, but townspeople were unwelcoming and we felt genuinely unsafe. We were also worried about diseases. There seems to be no way to contact Costa Rica Vacation One as they never answer their phones, and we came home feeling exactly as if we had been robbed at gunpoint. They boast about being a "family owned company, " but I have to wonder just what kind of family that is. Stay away from this company!
Worst Vacation Ever
This was touted as family friendly and the pictures looked nice. It's a total scam. We ended up in a smelly condo in the process of being built on the outskirts of a dismal place called Playas del Coco. Everything was terrible, rude staff, ants in room, mud, rain. Center of this depressing town was a two mile walk on dirt road. There is no transportation, beach is a mud pit. What a rip off. This was the worst vacation ever for me and my family.

Nightmare on Horror Beach
This was a horror show. The pictures on the web site have nothing whatsoever to do with the reality. We ended up in a dirty condo in a depressing part of town. Actually, it was a ghetto, and the main business of this company seems to be to promote their condos in this ghetto. Everything was filthy and there was nothing at all to do except visit the dirty beach that looked more like a sewer. This company is completely unethical and it's a disgrace that they are allowed to stay in business. We tried to get a refund but they never answer the phone.
We wound up in this dump as a result of a time share swap, and it was a nightmare. Our hotel turned out to be a filthy, ant-filled condo in the middle of a ghetto in a desolate town called Playas del Coco. There were no amenities at all, the staff was indifferent, and the nearest shops and restaurants were a two mile walk on a dirt road. There is no transportation. The dirty, murky beach is a half hour's walk. Surrounded by such filth and poverty, we felt guilty, like Ugly Americans in a third-world country. This company is primarily interested in selling condos, and does a real disservice to any potential tourist trade in Costa Rica because I would never visit that country again under any circumstances whatsoever.

This is total scam. A promised beach villa turned out to be an apartment in a tacky new condo going up in the slums, and the whole purpose of this supposed deal is to get you to purchase one of those dismal condos. Everything was unclean, nobody bothered to clean the toilets, towels and sheets were threadbare. The smell was terrible, and there was no transportation to escape the place. The nearest shops, etc. were a two mile walk, and the beach also seemed to serve as the local dump. Avoid this awful town and shameless scam.
Shack in a Mudhole
I already submitted a complaint about this place, but I spelled their name wrong and want to make sure they get their due. This is a vacation scam that rents dumps in the middle of a desolate Costa Rican ghetto in a town called Playas del Coco, a $50 ride from the airport at Liberia. The beach is a slime pit, and your home is an insect-plagued shack. Their real business is selling condos, so your visit includes a sales presentation masquerading as a free breakfast. The company's "General Manager" is Rimma Portnaya aka Rimma Egorov, a notorious con artist.

Vacation Slums
We just had a horrible experience with this outfit. My husband rented a "beach house" for two weeks and it turned out to be a dump in a depressing and unwelcoming town called Playas del Coco. The conditions were unlivable, the natives were hostile and we left after three days. Getting a refund proved impossible as Costa Rica Vacation One has disconnected their phones. This family business turns out to be owned by a notorious con woman named Rimma Portnaya. Stay away from Costa Rica Vacation One.

This is one of many scams run by notorious con woman Rimma Portnaya aka Rimma Egorov. It involves fake vacation rentals and real estate deals in swampy Costa Rica. Avoid it, the similarly themed Costa Rica Deal, and anything involving Rimma Portnaya
This is a rental scam involving vacation property in Costa Rica. All of their properties are in slums and poor neighborhoods of towns you've never heard of. Steer clear of Costa Rica Vacation One and Costa Rica Deal.
